Reviews for Hotel Borgo Antico

Review 1:The breakfast is a typycal italian style, not good for health!, a lot of sugar cakes, white bread, no fruits, no natural juices, no eggs (but if you ask they do it, no problems)...But for the money that we pay for this Fantastatic place, this is ok!

Review 2:The place is very nice, the location, the view, the staff( principal the young guy of the reception very kindness and professional), the restaurant, the selection of wine, very clean all hotel, the rooms very confortable, very big parking and the principal The Borgo, you fell the history around...The Really Face of Italy...Soberb!!! Very cheap for this kind of place

Review 3:It's a little tricky to get to - not much around it, but if you're looking for a base to discover Tuscany for a few days, it is wonderful.

Review 4:Wonderful hotel

Review 5:Wonderful hotel in the style of an ancient castle. Friendly and professional staff (especially the young man Leonardo), the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, a hearty and delicious breakfast. Beautiful nature around. More suitable for travelers by car. Everything was great.

Review 6:Our bathroom felt a little gloomy as it was necessary to keep the shutters closed for privacy. The bedspread fabric had a 'wipe-clean' feel, and the bed was rather too firm for me. A second hot drink at breakfast costs extra - this was the only hotel on our trip that had such a policy.

Review 7:The hotel is an attractive building, in keeping with the surrounding countryside, situated on a quiet lane between Siena and Buonconvento. We were on the second floor, overlooking the entrance. Our room had steps up to the bathroom, which was spacious and well equipped. The hotel has a very good restaurant with a terrace where you can watch the sun set over the Tuscan countryside and enjoy excellent and reasonably priced wine with your meal. The hotel receptionist (Leonardo) was very friendly and helpful in all respects.

Review 8:You need a car as it is in the country. The town closes down early at night so be prepared to drive into Siena (15 km) for entertainment and dining or eat in the hotel restaurant which we did not.

Review 9:Quiet location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. The restaurant looks quite nice inside as well as the outside dining area.

Review 10:The service in the restaurant was a bit slow sometimes. The hotel would deserve more employees during the dinners.

Review 11:The service and staff was just perfect. Dinners were very good as well.

Review 12:Wifi was patchy but this did not effect our stay at all .

Review 13:We were a group walking the Via Francigena and on arrival to nearest town we were uncertain as to where it was situated ! Andrea kindly came to collect us and for this we are forever grateful . We had the most fantastic view from our room and the whole experience was memorable .Staff were so helpful

Review 14:Spectacular scenery. Great location

Review 15:Restaurante do hotel

Review 16:quiet village, quiet hotel, great staff.

Review 17:Lovely staff! Good rooms. You get a nice toscany feeling.

Review 18:Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful outdoor areas and restaurant, beautiful building. Very good value for money!

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Reception staff excellent Good restaurant Sunset view from restaurant Good and affordable wine list Quiet location

Review 21:-A staff member sent us on a wild goose chase to a outlet mall an hour away when we asked where to find ceramic pottery. -I chose this hotel because it appeared that it was close to a town. There was no way, however, that one could walk into town. We were located in a neighborhood that was isolated by the highway. Had to drive to everything. Limited eating places. Hotel restaurant was pricey. -There was usually only one person to man the desk, do the books, and serve the breakfast. They tried to be helpful but had too much to do. - AC blew right onto face of person in top bunk and light switched on in their face each time the AC turned on.

Review 22:Room was clean and well appointed. Beds were comfortable, with the exception of the AC problem.

Review 23:The location of the hotel could not be better, with stunning views across the hills, from the hotel veranda, where we were able to sit with a drink in the evening sunshine, before dinner. We would certainly recommend the hotel restaurant, both for the quality of the food and value for money. We used the hotel as a stop over when driving back from Southern Italy and would use it again. It would make an excellent base for visiting Siena and the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

Review 24:WiFi only in small area near reception (but we coped of course). Can have wifi in room at extra charge I think.

Review 25:Great if you have own vehicle. Not so great if not. Had 2 rooms (2 couples travelling together) and one was bigger than the other with a kettle, tea/coffee making (both same price). Restaurant onsite is only one around and it is very fairly priced with extremely good meals & presentation for the price.

Review 26:Wifi only worked in lobby, but that was not a surprise.

Review 27:The restaurant was outstanding. We ate lunch and dinner there and were very surprised at the high quality of the food. The room itself was also quite nice. The people working in the hotel and restaurant were all great.

Review 28:Gorgeous view of the vineyards right out our window. The evening and morning light made for some spectacular photos. Beautiful dining room. Delicious dinner and great breakfast buffet. Friendly, helpful staff. Charming picturesque village. A great stop for us.

Review 29:The accommodation is perfekt. We had very clean room, fresh towels every day. We liked ancient building and quiet surroundings. The owners and the staff are very nice and kind. The food is also good and tasty.

Review 30:WIFI + Breakfast are very bad. Insects are large. Isolated place no fun. Booking has wrong name for hotel . I needed the hotel at bibbiena. thanks to them I paid extra 90 euros for the other hotel

Review 31:Wifi was not strong enough inside the room

Review 32:Best staff! Very nice and helpful. The room was very comfy and equipped with good facilities (Had a kettle inside which I found pretty rare in Tuscany) Free parking. Locate in a quite remote place (that a big con if you don't got a car)

Review 33:The room was simply decorated and not so old style as shown in thepictures. Poor breakfast. I consider it extremely expensive.

Review 34:Very clean hotel. Location, on the way between Montalcino and Siena, easy to find. Helpful and polite personnel.

Review 35:Car park is across the road through the hamlet of Lucignano d'Arbia and not much space to get baggage unloaded next to entrance (but road's never busy).

Review 36:A lovely place set in walls of a walled medieval hamlet. Quiet and comfortable, just off the main road into Siena making it an ideal stop to explore the city but return to the countryside in the evening. Super restaurant in a vaulted hall, and a paved terrace overlooking the hills for dining if the weather permits. Staff charming, food and wine great, breakfast extensive. Room and bathroom spacious and elegant. Apart from some lack of facilities like pool, kettle in room (neither of which bothered us), this hotel would easily rate 4-star. Quite a lot of money but not expensive for what one gets. Hard to fault!

Review 37:Food is to be improved

Review 38:Nice breakfast.

Review 39:Restraurant was expense and service was very slow.

Review 40:No elevator

Review 41:Lovely location, quiet, accross the street from a vineyard. Plenty of parking.

Review 42:Good restaurant. Nice little town. Plenty of parking space.

Review 43:Good location in tiny and cute village, friendly people, good food and drinks. All at very reasonable price
