Reviews for Agriturismo Tenuta Monte La Guardia

Review 1:We loved everything about our stay. The hosts were so friendly - the accommodation rustic, spacious and clean and the food - amazing!!! Our evening meals and breakfast were so delicious - a highlight of our 10 week trip around Europe. Totally recommended

Review 2:One needs to be philosophical when discussing Tenuta Monte La Guardiabecause many of life's achievements and pleasures can often be attainedonly by sustained effort, sometimes pain and frustration..Such is thecase with the truly rural, gastronomic and aromatic pleasures offered atthis wonderful Agriturismo. It operates in an environment totally trueto itself . The pigs, horses, sheep, goats, hens, geese and other animals--and their distinctive odours and noises--ensure your awareness ofexperiencing a genuine Italian working rural holding. It is a great shame that this mountain top oasis of old Italian agriculture is so difficult to find from the directions provided on the Internet. After a frustrating two hours searching (I speak fair Italian but could find nobody around who had ever heard of Tenuta Monte La Guardia, we were about to give up and to seek other accommodation when we finally found somebody in Bracciano who had heard of the place and guided us to Castel Giuliano (where the place really is but is not mentioned in the directions) . The final stretch of road to the property is a narrow, rutted and dusty track. But once there the accommodation is spacious and the traditional local food and wine--and the wonderful atmosphere in which they are served--are worth the effort. Don't give up! A visit here could well be the one experience of your Italian motoring holiday that you long remember!

Review 3:It is a genuine experience of Italian rural life and unpretentious butdelicious local food and wine. The reception is friendly, the food andservice excellent, the atmosphere genuine and, the accommodation firstrate. After the tourist-crowded parts of Italy, this is a welcome touchof genuine Italian country life.

Review 4:Quite difficult to find - you have to spot a small sign ticked away in the corner of the square in Castel Guiliano. Then the access road is unmade, with a fairly broken surface and quite steep hilly bits. We were fine picking our line with care in a small rented Peugeot, but don't try it in a low slung Ferrari!

Review 5:A fairly remote hilltop location, very rural atmosphere (baby pigs, sheep and goats everywhere...literally, around your feet. Quite lovely.). Very friendly welcome, once we found someone! Most unusual apartment room, very comfortable. Great family welcome, and a delicious and substantial dinner, and breakfast the next day. If we had not pre-booked our trip, we would certainly have stayed longer. Highly recommended as the base for a different, remote, rural break. There is horse riding available and it is a good walking base.
