Reviews for Hotel Sheraton

Review 1:Poor room, horrible view. Too hot even with the radiators turned off. Noisy below through our room being over the concert room and noisy above from creaking floors and what sounded like furniture being moved at all hours of the night, and a strong smell f cigarette smoke in the corridor and sometimes the lift.

Review 2:The food, although there is still room for improvement. The dining room and concert room were well set out, and the quiet bar was comfortable.

Review 3:The bedroom was a little out dated. And there was tape covering a hole in the carpet leading in to the bathroom. Also there were signs in the bathroom which were advisory signs but there were 3 which i thought was a little much!. The bed was hard and also the headboard was very fragile and squeaky. I appreciate this is a big hotel and is in the early stages of a refurbishment and you would expect the above.

Review 4:My room was upgraded when i arrived at no extra cost and i was even asked if i wanted a sea view which i thought was excellent. From entering the hotel until checkout the staff were very friendly and always helpful. The food was great and tasty with a good choice. Considering how busy it was in the dining room it was well organised and the staff were very attentive!.

Review 5:Parking was a problem The Public car park is a long way down the promenade at Gynn Square

Review 6:Fairly clean room in reasonable order Staff quite helpful Fun entertainment

Review 7:The hotel is very dated. The room they gave us with two children under 3 had black mould and damp on the wall. The bathroom was extremely dated. The double bed was poorly positioned next to a dado rail and was very uncomfortable. The fixtures and fittings throughout were very dated with carpets being celotaped together in places. The lift was so small a pushchair could hardly fit. We were basically ignored at breakfast by our waitress and had to seek help from a different waitress. The high chair provided was not suitable for our young daughter who kept slipping down the chair.

Review 8:The use of a heated swimming pool.

Review 9:Poor food, inadequate parking, poor disability facilities, staff unwilling to help with problems, no shower or double room as requested. Sub-standard. AVOID!

Review 10:V. warm throughout the hotel - too warm, really. I had to sleep with the window wide open at night to reduce the temperature a few degrees. A little shabby in places - looks nice on the outside but once you get into the corridors towards the bedroom you can feel the age of the building.

Review 11:Right on the coast. excellent views of the sea.

Review 12:We were not told that the entertainment had been moved to the side of the hotel where we were staying, very noisy from 8pm till 1230pm, offered alternative accomodation for 2nd night at their sister hotel.

Review 13:Room really comfortable, would have liked to stay in it for both nights of stay but had to move to sister hotel due to noise from entertainment.

Review 14:The only thing i did not like, was the room we had it was right over the top of the room were the entertainment was held. So our room was like a disco. The room it self was very comfortable and clean

Review 15:The staff were very friendly and obliging nothing was to much trouble

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Staff were friendly and eager to help the lodge was great only problem was we were on top floor when booking again will ask for ground or 1st floor

Review 18:we stayed in the lodge and it is dated and not very clean, there were no staff in the lodge and no lift we were on the top floor. if anyone happened to have an accident there would have been no one about to help.

Review 19:the food was nice

Review 20:"The lodge "is an out side building at the back of the hotel, it has stairs to rooms , no lift.. ? As its outside the hotel you have to come out into the street to get to the hotel for meals, bar, swimming pool..Its not good especialy when weather is bad and there's heavy rain.. Make sure what your getting before booking.

Review 21:The meals and service were good .

Review 22:Radiator leaking so floor wet through and room smelt foisty because of this. Walls paper thin in lodge part of hotel and rooms a bit tired didn't seem bothered that room was unacceptable to stop in

Review 23:Good food good service in dining room nice lounge area and bar

Review 24:No hairdryer in the bedroom light over dressing table kept going on/off I'm disabled and while I was booking the premises I requested a low floor unfortunately I didn't get told in advance that I would be on the second floor and as I have a genuine fear of lifts I ended up having to climb two flights of stairs apart from all this we liked our stay

Review 25:Insensitive handling of a minor complaint by 2 managers. Dirty tablecloths. Shoddy service in dining room.

Review 26:Good bar service. Lovely lounge. Comfortable rooms in the lodge.

Review 27:We were in an annexe called " the Lodge" and although this was ok we would have preferred to have been housed in the main hotel. The shower was very poor but as our stay was short this made little difference. Parking is a nightmare but this must apply to every hotel in Blackpool and has no reflection on the hotel.

Review 28:Nice clean hotel giving good value for money, very helpful staff and the hotel was warm and comfortable. There was entertainment in the evening for those who wanted to take advantage of this.

Review 29:Worst shower ever.

Review 30:The room was large and comfortable, if somewhat tired, decoratively and fixtures wise. The dining room is the best room in the hotel, although a bit crowded and cramped. Breakfast was excellent, Dinner somewhat less so, plain but satisfying.

Review 31:Hotel needs a bit of updating. Although comfortable the rooms are shabby. We were only there for 2 days and didnt spend much time in the hotel anyway. It is also a very hot hotel - we had to turn off the radiator and open the small window in the room as soon as we arrived and left it open all night.

Review 32:Hotel was in a good spot, being out of the busy area but close enough to get there. Food was lovely.

Review 33:No WiFi . No shower gel or shampoo provided. Room looked nothing like the pictures on website the room were very out dated (bathroom everything was pink)

Review 34:The room was clean and night entertainment brilliant

Review 35:I was given a room in the lodge situated outside the hotel when travelling alone with my 8 year old daughter. We had to alert staff to an external fire within our building, it didn't make me reassured staying there.

Review 36:Restaurant staff were very good and pleasant.

Review 37:Waiting staff a little slow although friendly. Room noise from upstairs neighbours children but nothing hotel could do but tie them down!!

Review 38:Really comfortable beds, clean room.kids enjoyed the pool somewhere to lock away clothes or place clothes would be better.

Review 39:Reception staff fail to deal with complaints effectively- more intered in taking money than your needs. Had made a complaint about a failing light only for it to be fixed 6 days later

Review 40:The location is great and pool staff make the effort.

Review 41:Entertainment room could be improved somewhat !! Felt a touch old fashioned !

Review 42:Enjoyed our stay, value for money and staff professional and friendly.. Can't wait for improvements to rooms.. Can only get better.

Review 43:Unfortunately in a room immediately above the entertainment at night. We had our young granddaughter and unable to get her to sleep because of the noise. Thought when booking staff would have taken this into consideration when allocating room

Review 44:Friendly staff with nice lounge and bar facilities

Review 45:hotel needs a lot of TLC bedrooms on first floor had generators going difficult to sleep rooms very small shower smelly/grubby noise from entertainment was as if it was in your room

Review 46:staff very friendly food was great entertainment also good

Review 47:Rather thin walls in the Lodge as we were woken up by TV & loud voices next to us , also creaky floors , noise from above room .

Review 48:Food was lovely , good choices . Convenient for bus/ tram & seeing the illuminations . Parking available which was useful. Opportunity to stay another night in an upgraded room at a good discount . Staff very helpful & polite , especially our table waiter .

Review 49:Staff are fantastic, couldn't do enough for you. I was staying at the hotel with family as it was our Aunts 80th Birthday & they help to make it a memorable occasion for her.

Review 50:The hotel is situated in a good position on Queens prom' in Blackpool. The Hotel has been recently taken over by new owners and you can already see improvements taking place, and view their overall plans for the future of the hotel.

Review 51:Lack of organisation in dining room Attitude of one member of staff re above

Review 52:Met requirements for weekend stay in Blackpool - 2nd stay for same reason

Review 53:Quite far away from anything Creeky floor boards and noisy neighbours Small lift that didn't really fit a pram in They didn't have our booking because they said their systems went down so was in a different part of the hotel to what we should have been

Review 54:The pool The restaurant and staff in there

Review 55:Stayed in room 151 Bed was awful . Room was a lovely size . Needs a lick of paint . Bathroom . Cracked sink and poor tiles around the shower

Review 56:Very friendly staff . Nothing was too much trouble . Food was good . Entertainment was good and friendly .

Review 57:The games room was far too hot and hidden away from any air and light. quite claustrophobic. Likewise the pool area was was unbearably humid.

Review 58:The food was of a high standard. The room was clean and comfortable. Must say the children,s entertainment on the two nights we stayed were absolutely first class.

Review 59:The bed in room 17 was awful, so uncomfortable.

Review 60:We loved our stay, the food was excellent & the service from all staff was fantastic. We stayed in the lodge which was great as it was very quiet.

Review 61:The only negative was that the hotel was very dated, and the decor and facilities were very tired looking. The hotel will be undergoing a refurb in the winter which will upgrade it to a very lovely hotel. If you prefer to stay in ultra modern boutique hotels, then this hotel is not for you.

Review 62:Great hotel, situated in the quieter part of Blackpool so not noisy. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, with a great range of fruits and cereals alongside a wonderful cooked breakfast. We stayed one night and had dinner also included in the price which was also great. There was evening entertainment which catered for both adults and children, the bar prices were reasonable too.We all had a lovely break in a nice hotel. The hotel also has a swimming pool which is an added bonus especially if you have children. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

Review 63:After booking I enquired of evening lunch was included. I was informedby hotel it was and was told by member of staff or would be sorted. Uponenquiring just before lunch I was told it wasn't included withbooking.com. Contrary to what the other member of staff said. Shower wasalso very poor. Rooms too hot also even with window open.

Review 64:Great bar area and breakfast.

Review 65:Kids running around all evening even when the artist was on at 10pm.never seen this in all the blg hotels we stay in,no control and not a relaxing time for adults.

Review 66:Wonderful food and show every evening. Comfy lounge and great pool.

Review 67:the drinks prices are the usual rip off carlesberg larger at £3.45 coke out of a bottle you can buy anywhere for a £1 was £1.50 for a small glass first filled with ice so not much coke the games room had a pay pool table with one broken cue and one badly bent one also a table tennis table with £5.00 deposit for bats and ball 4 arcade machines and unsupervised kids swimming pool was good and warm and not too crowded

Review 68:all the staff we had contact with were helpfull and friendly the room was clan and as they tell you they are spending a lot of money to refurbish the hotel our bathroom needs it and new windows are needed as well as redecorating but it all takes time

Review 69:The room was very shabby with wallpaper falling off the wall, curtains with seeing undone, bathroom very old and dated plus windows with seals gone so all frosted up

Review 70:Nice staff and lots of seating areas to relax in

Review 71:Shame about the high chlorine levels due to the contaminated water. Not the hotels fault but was a bit uncomfortable.

Review 72:staff were friendly and very helpful. Despite all the work that was going on to upgrade the hotel every effort was made to keep everything as clean as possible and disruption to a minimum. Would be interested to see what it's like when it's completed. Thank you.

Review 73:Bathroom was small for a family room.

Review 74:Our 1st stay and already booked our return for Halloween. Hotel clean, great location on cabin tram line stop. Staff very helpful and polite. Hotel undergoing renovations looking forward to seeing improvements on our return. My girls loved the nightly children's entertainment and games room. We stayed half board food in restaurant was lovely with great choice. We also went for lunch at sister hotel Elgin also very nice. Looking forward to our return in Oct.

Review 75:Didnt like getting up so early for breakfast at the weekend thought maybe breakfast should be served a little later.

Review 76:We liked the food and also that they had entertainment inthe evening. Also the pool.

Review 77:Extremely creeky floorboards above our room so the elephant upstars kept us awake !

Review 78:Staff and entertainment were amazing. We were made to feel very welcome.

Review 79:Room we had was dull with no natural sun light also too hot but when I asked for a fan they had none so resulted in very uncomfortable nights sleep, next time I will get a sae view room

Review 80:Food is outstanding considering price, entertainment was great and love bingo

Review 81:No problems whatsoever.

Review 82:Meals which accommodate for young children and children's evening entertainment. Evening entertainment for adults. Swimming pool. Very helpful and attentive staff.

Review 83:The food was not great had the scampi and wedges, 5 pieces of scampi on a massive plate and a serving bowl of peas carrots and wedges to share. Breakfast was the same tiny portion. The carpet in our room had white stains all over it. The rooms are very dated.

Review 84:The staff couldn't do enough for you and we're very helpful.

Review 85:We were put in the Sheraton lodge at irate but there was no lift and my us and has had a knee replacement so I was very difficult

Review 86:Good food pleasant staff

Review 87:The family room we were given only had a very small bathroom, which only had a shower and no bath..not ideal when you have young children..

Review 88:There was a swimming pool which on a wet and miserable day was handy for the children..

Review 89:Paid for superior and sea view for 2 days scaffolding wheelbarrow skip ladders rubbish Shute erected outside window no seaivew plus workmen 8.30 am until 5 pm . We were celebrating 55 yrs anniversary absolute waste of money re seaivew etc . Been many many years at sheraton never ever again New owners knew when work would start so why rent me this room 151 . Very disappointed

Review 90:Food and waitress service

Review 91:Great friendly helpful staff. Lovely stay and lovely breakfast. Good value for money. Entertainment every night and location is great I give it a 10/10

Review 92:very small and basic room, no phone no hairdryer, shower and toilet suite very old fashioned, noisy floorboards, hotel should give discount for these older smaller rooms

Review 93:nice staff, lovely meals, handy location tram & bus route outside

Review 94:Unfortunately we were allocated room 107 which was directly over the entertainment which meant we had to wear ear plugs which didn't help. Also when entering/leaving the hotel we had to wade through clouds of cigarette smoke.

Review 95:The room was comfortable and clean as was the bed. The food was fine and service was quick.

Review 96:Nothing!

Review 97:Although the hotel is a little dated the service was really good and the staff were excellent. The food was very good. We could not fault the way our two year old was treated either..We will be back again for sure!

Review 98:The size of the bathroom was very small, the shower was lucky to be 3ft square. As a 6ftguyi kept banging my elbows off the tiling. The double bed wasnt a proper double size, my feet were hanging off the end the bed when fully stretched. The main meal food was extremely poor, if i dodn't know any better i would think it came straight out the microwave.

Review 99:The full english breakfast was really nice. Staff were always approchable, and had a smile on their faces

Review 100:We were in Sheraton Lodge, which was a converted boarding house, used as back up accommodation, with no staff,no lifts,a shower cubicle smaller than a telephone box, with cold running water.and a half eaten banana from a previous guest in the drawer.no direct access to the main hotel,e.g.walk outside in the rain to go for your meals in the main building.and tired 1970's bathroom suite and furniture,if you like all this,It's the place to go.

Review 101:The food and the staff were the only good thing I could mention.

Review 102:I was on holiday with my daughter age 10 and niece age 9 - they loved the swimming pool and we all enjoyed the evening entertainment, great for all the family. Would definitely recommend.

Review 103:The room was very out dated and the hotel was very shabby and is in good need of a refurbishment, also better entertainment is needed

Review 104:The food was very good

Review 105:Price the hotel wanted for second night

Review 106:Originally only booked one night.asked the hotel for a price for another and got quoted £50 more than I then paid booking.com

Review 107:No greeting on arrival, no information given as to times of meals where the dineing room was, how to access swimming pool etc. came across as very poor customer service.

Review 108:Tram stop just outside. The waitress called Amaelia, was very helpful had a good can do attitude.

Review 109:The settees are looking very tired and torn. Heard of a recent buyout of the hotel, could explain a lot of things.

Review 110:Plenty of comfortable settees to sit

Review 111:The lifts were small, our baby pushchair barely fitted in it so we struggled to keep the baby sleeping when we arrived back at the hotel as we had to fold the buggy up to fit in

Review 112:Although the hotel location was slightly further than expected the surrounding area was nice & quiet with no bars/pubs nearby kicking people out at closing time- with two very young kids this was perfect

Review 113:Lift was too small. Not enough bath towels for the amount of people in the triple room

Review 114:Pleasant rooms good food choices The staff were friendly and helpful

Review 115:Nothing!!!

Review 116:We had family from Australia with us this time when we visited. Staff gave us sea view rooms- which were lovely! We always enjoy our stays here and look forward to our next visit. Always spotless rooms and staff are lovely!

Review 117:Staff great we had two rooms which were both different ends of the hotel so reception were a great help and stopped our rooms to next door to each other as we had young children. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious and waitress was so attentive and helpfull, the pool was very small but we had a good time as a family and had the pool to ourselves, entertainment very much aimed at the older generation even tho there were plenty of kids at the hotel, nothing really for children to do. Hotel in general needs a good face-lift very old looking at rooms were very old fashioned but clean in general.

Review 118:The bar was closed on our first night !?! And our room was directly above the entertainment and that was far too loud when u have a small child.

Review 119:The location and pool and the breakfast was nice

Review 120:The music was far too loud ,we were on the second floor and the children struggled to sleep ,the room was really hot and no proper windows to open.when the children finally got to sleep the fire alarm went off twice.

Review 121:The children loved the pool ,the room was a good size

Review 122:children running round while artist was on .Parents didn't seem to bother that they were spoiling other peoples enjoyment .they had entertainment for children before the adults

Review 123:the location easy to get tram are bus either to blackpool are Fleetwood and cleveleys entertainment not bad

Review 124:The front doors were locked so i didnt know how to get in the building.. all the lights were off inside and it looked really derelict. Walked past later to see people leaving by a back entrance.. it looked really rough!! i booked into a hotel around the corner instead!

Review 125:Facilities were abit basic entertainment very basic bingo and kids entertainment are what they are

Review 126:Staff were fairly helpful a basic break at a value price

Review 127:W.I.fI should be stronger signal to all rooms

Review 128:The location is very good, tram stops outside the hotel, the bar anddining facilities are good with good staff, entertainment, good food andvery reasonable cost. Free ,parking outside the hotel Will always choosethe Sheraton First.

Review 129:The rooms on the first floor are above the kitchen and swimming pool and are incredibly hot even when it's cold outside. The wallpaper was peeling off and the table had bad stains and the room in general was a bit tatty. Don't flush the toilet if someone else is in the shower!

Review 130:Swimming pool was ok, entertainment ok, Food was excellent

Review 131:Our room was clean but needed upgrading staples in wall where posters had been handles missing on draws.unit in bathroom rotten at floor level and visible. New shower was good

Review 132:Easy check in and out good food and happy friendly staff

Review 133:Free parking was an issue no parking spaces available near hotel had to park a 5 minute walk away when I addressed the issue the reply was " well it's still free " not at all helpful ! We were also knocked up at 8-30 by house keeping wanting to clean the room.

Review 134:nothing

Review 135:the staff were great nothing was to much trouble for them, it was the little things like the staff member remembering that my grandson liked tomato sauce and other staff members taking the trouble to talk to my grandson about his day. the meals were good to with a choice.

Review 136:I had a little accident on my sheet, this was not changed. I had to wash the sheet myself upon my return to room. The room was too small.

Review 137:Food was very hot and served well, extra food was added upon request. Our waitress was wonderful.
