Reviews for Emmet House
Review 1:The beds could be a bit more cosy but I wouldn't let it put me off staying again.
Review 2:We were made very welcome by maureen, nice cosy place. It was only a flying visit but would definitely stay again .
Review 3:Beautiful boutique hotel, centrally located with very comfortable rooms. Warm & friendly staff. Particularly enjoyed the home made brown bread and scones served with breakfast. Perfect for a romantic weekend away or family break. A great experience.
Review 4:very good , the service ,we had evening meal which was so good , lovely room old building very well restored , I liked the berries and yogurt for breakfast my husband had cooked breakfast all good thank you
Review 5:It was over priced for what it was and they didn't include breakfast in the original fee. How they can call themselves a bed and breakfast is beyond me. Then asked did we want breakfast to which we said ok if we're up we will and pay the extra. We didn't have breakfast and charged us anyway. I would never come again.
Review 6:The bathroom was nice.
Review 7:NA
Review 8:Nice central location to the heritage town of Birr . The rooms are very nicely decorated. The bed and the pillows are super comfortable. The owner was super nice. Parker's Riverstown, was an excellent restaurant. Overall we had a very nice stay.
Review 9:The cooked breakfast wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the stay. Tasteless sausage and not very appetising. I don't like a large screen TV permanently on in the breakfast room.
Review 10:Clean and tidy room, comfortable bed, large and well presented en-suite with oversized walk-in shower. Quiet surroundings despite being on the main square. Very nice.
Review 11:Parking could be a problem if you stayed mid week.
Review 12:Couldn't find any faults. It is a lovely clean and we'll presented guest house and the staff are very friendly.
Review 13:I can't think of one negative thing to say.
Review 14:The hosts are simply the best. They welcomed us like family coming home. She had a warm cobbler waiting for us and her daughters helped with the delivery to our room. The castle was a surprising treasure. This ended up being our favorite stay on this trip!
Review 15:My only complaint was that the mattress in the family suite clearly needed replacement.
Review 16:Host, location, room and breakfast were all lovely and highly recommended.
Review 17:I was attending a friends wedding in the area and stayed here for 2 nights, the owners were lovely , the B and B was right in the centre of town with parking outside , it was ideal and i would definitely stay here again!!
Review 18:We got a big room with a queen sized, four poster bed. Really comfy. Lovely furniture too. Bathroom was great with a heated mirror and automatic LEDs so that you didn't have to turn on the light and fan in the middle of the night.

Ididn't avail of the breakfast option but I'm sure if I hadit would have been first class too. Had the peaceful nights sleep Iwas much in need of.
Review 27:My very first impression of Emmet house was the cleanliness and smell of furniture polish from the well polished shining furniture. Maureen,s friendly face and lovely welcoming manner. The room was spotless, with good quality bed clothes, plenty of clean fluffy towels. The lovely breakfast in the morning ,with homemade brown bread and scones. Another plus was outside our room we had access to a microwave and a fridge, the fridge was stocked with nice glass bottles of cold water. Everything about the place was lovely.I will return to Emmet house in the future.

The staff Maureen, Shirley and their mum Evelyn did everything possible to make our stay absolutely perfect. They are a great team and my wife and I can not thank them enough. When we left, it was like saying farewell to friends. If your travels take you anywhere near Birr, then Emmet House is a must. It is a truly wonderful place. Thank you ladies - you are all sensational
Review 35:room was warm due to no air conditioning, but it was unseasonably warm the week we visited and most B and B's don't have AC, so this was not a surprise. also, this was not a problem for us, but there is no lift and all rooms are accessed by a flight of stairs.
