Reviews for Hotel Mareluna

Review 1:Boring breakfasts. Items would run out and not be replaced. Superficially pleasant but really rather uninspiring restaurant decor.

Review 2:A modern, rather minimalist but very pleasant and well maintained hotel overlooking the harbour at San Marco. Nice garden at the back overlooking the sea and between the buildings. Worth booking a room with balcony and sea view. Really nice, large swimming pool with good sun beds (no sea views). Pool bar closed by late September and no sign of anyone handing out towels or the like, but quiet (in late September) and very pleasant. Very easy parking. Not a grand hotel, but really very pleasant. Would thoroughly recommend in its price bracket; indeed, booked to return next year (and we have the impression that a number of the guests are return visitors). The surrounding area is glorious. And untouristy. The Cilento national park is very beautiful, and Castelabatte, San Marco and Santa Maria make up a lovely trio of almost connecting villages. Agropoli was a delightful surprise - the old hill town is delightful and not a sign of tourist tat in sight. Very convenient for the magnificent site of Paestum.

Review 3:We appreciated the free WiFi but it was only available in public areas which, whilst not disastrous, after all we were on holiday, but was inconvenient if you needed to check emails.

Review 4:Modern clean hotel. The rooms with a sea view are worth the extra money just to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the sun set The swimming pool was a real bonus and well looked after. We loved being able to walk out of the garden on to the cliff path and walk down to the little bar above the harbour for a beer.

Review 5:No tea or coffee facilities in room, we all really missed making a cup of hot tea. Room service was expensive for a cup of tea. and drinks always came Luke warm not hot.

Review 6:Location. Very Friendly Very clean

Review 7:WiFi doesn't work in rooms and it barely works at reception (but we needed it as used it to plan trips around). breakfast is very minimal (surprised to read that other people liked it) - more fruits and fresh bread will fix it.

Review 8:location-location-location (!) - San Marco is a charming village and Cilento is a beautiful land, (we will be back) good spacious clean room with a sea view Overall - we like it - thanks a lot to personnel ( but please fix WiFi and breakfast.)

Review 9:the fact the restaurant was set menus for lunch and dinner.Dinner did not start until 8pm too late for younger children.

Review 10:the hotel, staff and everything was excellent apart from restaurant for lunch and dinner.

Review 11:Must be something, and if I ever think of it I will let you know

Review 12:Layout of hotel means that it is cool, or at least as cool as one can architecturally make it. It is laid out in separate blocks with the swimming pool at the back and a garden between the front block and the sea. Restaurant is excellent S Marco is a quiet village

Review 13:the restaurant only had set menus and dinner started at 8pm as we had young children this was too late for them to eat.The snack bar had only crisps

Review 14:every thing apart from food availabilty

Review 15:The staff were so fantastic and helpful, really couldn't do enough for us.

Review 16:no coffee /tea facilities in room

Review 17:nice rooms good views clean

Review 18:Staff, cleanliness, views, pool. A wonderful stay

Review 19:Hard bed

Review 20:Scenery, peace and quiet and everyone SO friendly and VERY patient with our rudimentary Italian

Review 21:Restaurant not open

Review 22:Access onto coast path Sea view from large balcony Swimming pool

Review 23:- Not many restaurants around the hotel

Review 24:- Good breakfast - Good room and temperature control

Review 25:Not italian style Overpriced

Review 26:Very helpful staff. Clean and tidy hotel. Comfortable.

Review 27:The hotel is positioned in the middle of nowhere. We recommend to have a car, as in the town itself is almost nothing to do. Driving to Agropoli last around 20 minutes and is recommended by us. Unfortunately there is no wifi in the rooms, however in the reception area it's working well.

Review 28:The Hotel is very nice and the staff super friendly and polite. Overall a hotel we can definetly recommend.

Review 29:More choice for Evening meals.

Review 30:The hotel Management and staff were very friendly and always very helpful. would like to thank the Manager as we had to have the doctor out to our 21/2yr old grandson and he was very helpful and considerate again many thanks.

Review 31:Wi-fi only in foyer and difficult to log in to.

Review 32:Very large room (407) with balcony and view over the sea. Walk along beach to Santa Maria took about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Quick walk into San Marco for dinner. Had an excellent meal at Domaro's (set meal, huge and very good value). Good breakfast buffet. Huge private, easy parking area. Quiet.

Review 33:Difficult to find the hotel in the small town's one-way system. We were there at the very beginning of the season so only one restaurant in the town was open (however it was very good)

Review 34:The room was large and clean with a fridge and flat screen TV. The balcony faced out to sea, had a table and chairs and very useful clothes-drier. We could sit and watch the fishing boats coming in and out of the small harbour. the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 35:We really enjoyed our stay at the Mareluna Hotel in S. Marco di Castellabate. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the surrounding area, immersed in the wonderful Parco del Cilento (with its special mix of sea and mointain landscapes), is reach of nice places and beaches. During our stay we spent some hours around the swimming pool which is available outside the hotel; moreover, a shuttle bus drove us to a beach lying closeby. Food and cuisine is another strong point of Cilento and the Mareluna Hotel confirmed this appealing feature of this area: breakfast was rich and tasty and several options were suggested to lunch and dinner.

Review 36:Nothing, it was perfect.

Review 37:Perfect for mature couples and young families. Excellent location, sea views and pathway to the beach. Excellent swimming pool, with showers and sun beds. Excellent Italian cuisine, friendly and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable. This was our fourth visit to this hotel and we will definitely be going again next year.

Review 38:Wifi not available in rooms. Need to be in the (very small) lobby or at the pool (fighting with mosquitoes in the evening!)

Review 39:Wonderful swimming pool with free Wifi Access. Large car park (not covered). Room terrasse with wonderful view on the sea. Good breakfast buffet

Review 40:The evening meal, while good value at €22, is served in a dining room which has a very institutional atmosphere. The quality of food on the one evening we dined inhouse was poor. The very well appointed bathrooms are equipped with a shower unit which all, but those of a very slim figure, will have difficulty in entering and exiting. The showers themselves are fine. San ~Marco Castellabate lacks variety in restaurants for those staying more than a few days. We ate at each of the three restaurants we could find. In the church square the upper floor restaurant was the worst of our three week stay in southern Italy. In the ground floor restaurant the food was good but menu choice very limited in context of a week long stay. Choice of restaurants, quality of food and value was much better in nearby Agropoli.

Review 41:We arrived a day earlier than anticipted on our tour of southern Italy. Having phoned the hotel a few hours in advance they booked us in with no problem for the extra night and gave us very clear directions to the hotel. We had seven very pleasant days in the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the balcony in each apartment is a spacious relaxation area. The pool is large and a wonderful sun bathing area. Breakfast is generous and can be eaten al fresco. The location close to the village, port and beach is ideal. The free spacious car park is a definite plus. The location is excellent for touring the Cilento coast and Castellabate is a wonderfully restful village to return to in the evening. If you like people watching, the church square is a wonderfully lively area up to midnight.

Review 42:Lack of instructions on phone use. More clothes hangers needed in the room. Lack of writing materials. lack of explanation for air conditioning. Tours etc could have been better brought to our attention to get better value..

Review 43:The Hotel mare Luna is close to historical sites, these are not included in your list above! Very helpful staff. We had only one evening meal - it was very good value.

Review 44:Limited restaurant, set menu only but plenty of local restaurants within 5 min walk Quite hard to find even with sat.nav.

Review 45:Fab setting and rooms with sea view balcony a must Rooms spacious but beds very hard Good breakfast choices good parking & pool facilities Very pleasant helpful staff Excellent quiet location after city

Review 46:Firm beds, pretty typical of Italy.

Review 47:Modern, clean rooms, common areas, pool, and breakfast room. Handy drying rack on patio for towels, swimsuits, and clothes. Generous breakfast buffet. A lovely little town of San Marco, with shops, restaurants, sandy beach, and harbor all within short walks. Hike or drive (round about) to Punta Licosa. Encountered successful octopus pickers.

Review 48:Wi-Fi at the reception zone only. The room facilities are quite old, some of them (for example, shower trunks and holders) are in poor condition.

Review 49:The hotel in general is really good: position, rooms, excellent staff. Very good swimming pool and parking lot. I recommend sea-view-rooms, it's worth some extra payment.

Review 50:Just one nuance - keep in mind that it's almost in the middle ofnowhere, though we liked this part as well. We managed to find just onenice restaurant nearby (it happened to be owned by the same group as thehotel). It also seemed to me that there's actually no direct accessto any usable beach, though it wasn't important for us so wedidn't really search

Review 51:Clean, nice rooms with enough space, good breakfast, parking actuallyavailable, the Tartaruga restaurant was closed for some reason socouldn't try it.

Review 52:The place was restful at the time of year we went. The staff welcoming and the room really nice. Fantastic pool, refreshing after a long day of travelling. Closer to a beach would have been better. The reception desk gentleman recommended a really good restaurant down the road. Ask for a sea view room tho! as otherwise you will be stuck at the back of the hotel with not much view at all. we requested another nights stay but the hotel was closing for the season.

Review 53:Cleaners ran into room as I opened door and I asked them not to cleanroom but they still did in while we had a breakfast. Breakfast is notgreat but there is a very close couple truly nice restaurants!

Review 54:Pool area was great! Close to beautiful beach - few minute walk inlittle pretty streets.

Review 55:The most unfortunate thing was that the pool was out of order. We pickedthis hotel specifically because of the pool, but it was closed...(by theway, we saw the pool - it's tiny and not worth mentioning anyway).Certain staff members had a terrible attitude.

Review 56:There is a very nice little beach nearby. Also, the furniture is modernand adequate.

Review 57:Great location in a lovely unspoilt little town. Staff were great andeven a bigger shower than usually found in Italy, lovely sea views formour room, will definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Review 58:Beautiful location on the cliffs. Beach was 1/4 mile away via naturetrail along the waterside. It is located more in the suberbs ofCastellabate but quaint and friendly people. The hotel was nice withbeautiful views. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasnicer than most.

Review 59:Lovely pool, very nice staff, good breakfast

Review 60:lovely hotel, in the village. we got a room with a view which was spectacular. breakfast was good and lovely dining area.

Review 61:I liked everything

Review 62:Lovely location, friendly helpful staff and all at a good price. If you can, upgrade to a room in the front block with a view over the harbour!

Review 63:Lack of amenities and facilities

Review 64:Helpful staff

Review 65:TV only Italian, No food, no launch or diner.

Review 66:Location, Stuff, Environment, Swimming pool

Review 67:I definetly recomand the sea view rooms!

Review 68:No WIFI Access in Hotel rooms
