Reviews for Residence La Dolce Vita
Review 1:The only thing I didn't like was that the mattress felt more like a box spring....not comfortable at all. Also there was only one flat pillow per person. Everything else though was exceptional
Review 2:Loved the apartment...very modern and clean.....fabulous view and very close to the town of Maiori. Easy access to very private beach and a wonderful rooftop terrace.
Review 3:Bed was uncomfortable, we stayed for 5 days but there was no room cleaning at all. No car and bike parking. Shower needs to be seperated with a glass. Beach sunbeds were not free, owned by other hotel. 20 min. walk to Maiori, dark road at night, not so safe to walk.
Review 4:Private beach, quiet room. Nice sea view.
Review 5:Uncomfortable bed (you can feel the springs through the matras), a bad placement of the shower ( it makes everything wet). the key (card) did not work when we arrived, so we stood with our luggage on the busy street. We had to call the hotel where we checked in (Regina hotel in Maiori) to ask for new cards. Luckily theycame fast. Always keep your selphone with you for calling because this happened to us a second time and also with other people. No parking, for ten euros a day an external company will drive your car to a private parking (they don't speak well English and they don't work with contracts so own risk).
Review 6:Private beach, rooftop with (refreshing) jacuzzi & shower, very clean apartments.
Review 7:No parking facilities except the one for 10€ / day where your car gets picked up by someone and brought back to you via call. You should call 30min in advance because the 10min that they tell you are not realistic. Had a scratch on the car, but they polished this one for me on the last day. The room that was promised to us with 30m was half as big and no view to the beach. You have to to pay for the bench at the beach downstairs. A lot of Moskitos on the way to the beach. Bed was not that comfortable.
Review 8:Its Not in the City Center and 10min from the crowded Beach. The beach is just for the resident guests of the hotels around. AC is good and cold. For 8€ / person you can have a continental breakfast at hotel Reginna.
Review 9:1. Magnet keys failed to do their function in many cases. Every our attempt to enter the room 4b required us to spent about 3-5 minutes on many unsuccessful fights with the 3 door lockers. Old-fashioned key-duplicates are required, imho.2. WiFi was good in the kitchen, but is bad in the terrace and bedroom. 3 (minor). Shower is not closed (blinds are required), and water can sprayed outside; 4 (minor). Not able to leave food on the kitchen desk, because of ants (we left a pizza in a closed paper box there and it was full of small insects in the morning).
Review 10:1. Short distance to the free shingle beach with crystal water;2. Not many people around the accommodation and on the beach. 3. Clean spacious room with a large terrace and great sea view, air-conditioning, bathroom, TV + everything you need for a comfortable cooking and eating. 4. Not very far from the center of the town and shops. If you are healthy or not very old, it is absolutely fine.
Review 11:We arrived on Thursday morning, paid for a 1 bedroom self catering apartment.Thursday at 2am the Air Conditioning Unit changes from the 'cold' setting at 19 degrees to pumping out hot air at 24 degrees. We checked all doors windows were shut, tripped the fuse etc etc. No change, until 9am when the unit turned itself back on to our original setting. At this stage we had been unable to sleep properly due to the heat.I complained the next day asking for the issue to be fixed, I was simply told that the issue I'd encountered was "not possible" because nobody else had complained about it. After a further argument I was assured that the AC unit would be checked.Friday night repeat. AC off at around 2am, hot air pumped in - this time I filmed how the unit was responding, including the fact that the doors/ windows were shut. Again, complete lack of sleep from 2am onwards. This time we opened the windows and obviously suffered lots of mosquito bites (the apartments are surrounded by trees/ bushes above water).I spoke with the travel agent again and infuriatingly we were again told that it wasn't possible and that we must have had a window open. The travel agent spoke over my wife on the phone and then hung up on her - we were asking that the unit be fixed or that we are found other accommodation. I then had to walk 25 minutes in 30 degree heat to get to the travel agent to complain in person. After an extensive argument eventually I convinced the travel agent to watch the video of the AC unit. At which point she huffed and eventually moved us into another apartment, and after further arguing we were given €25 euro's for the inconvenience of having to move our luggage etc.
Review 12:Great location.
Review 13:You need to be fit to stay here, steep steps down yo apartments and to the beach, 20min walk to Maori and no obvious way to get taxi back up the hill. We hired a car but wouldn't do so again - roads are awful to drive on and public buses and boats are easy and cheap to use - Aldo bringing car was always a bit of hassle, though he couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant.
Review 14:Beautiful location - view from 'sea view' apartment stunning. Clean, bright and modern apartment. Spa and sun terrace a bonus after a long day.
Review 15:The studio was lovely, but it had just a bedsofa, not a real bed. The mattress was not very comfortable, which may not be a problem when you stay just one or two nights; but for a longer stay it can be uncomfortable. Also the towels have not been changed during our week, and the studio has not been cleaned; but we could have paid a fee for it. But besides that a great place to stay! We would come back!
Review 16:We did stay one week in a studio and really loved it! The studio was well equipped, newly renovated, clean and very nicely decorated in a modern style. We had sea view and a nice terrace. The location in a small bay is great and it was calm. It is possible to walk to Maiori centre in ca 10-15 minutes. No problem at all. The service with the car worked very well. You call them, and they bring or pick up the car. We are very satisfied and can totally recommend La Dolce Vita. It is really GREAT value for money.
Review 17:For parking you had to call this Aldo with 15 mins of anticipation, costs an extra 10E per day. Tv only had 3 channels in italian.
Review 18:We had the better room, has nice view and a balcony. Very clean. Kitchen with almost everything you need to cook. Romantic
Review 19:We booked the day before through booking, and arrived at the office where we were to pick up keys to find they were closed for holiday. Only by luck, someone was exiting the building and he was able to call the agency & have someone come down, as they had not even seen our reservation yet. Moral of the story, is it best to book several days in advance if on weekend or holiday. Parking situation was not amazing. There is no parking at the residence, as it is on a narrow road with a cliff. You are supposed to call a number and have someone pick up the car, we called, but there was no answer, so we had to park the car at the bottom of the big hill, in town and walk back up to the residence. This was not bad for us, as we are reasonably fit, but I could see that this could be an issue for some.
Review 20:Views from window were amazing. The place was clean and spacious, and we felt great value. We made dinner in the space in the evening & enjoyed to view. The Wifi had a good connection which was good for us, as we had to get some work done, but it annoyingly kicks you out every 10 minutes & you have to log back in. Overall, though, wonderful stay & friendly accommodating staff.
Review 21:Only downside was that the hotel was about a 15minute walk up/down hill to get in to the centre however this wasn't a real problem for us being a young couple (we appreciated the long walk after all the nice Italian food we were eating) but I wouldn't recommend for older people as there is also quite a few steps leading to the hotel. Also the maid didn't replace our towels the whole week we were there and as the bathroom had a wetroom shower our towels often got soaked moping up the water after.
Review 22:Perfect for us to use as a base as we spent a lot of time out and about sightseeing. Lovely large apartment which was very modern. Would recommend room with a balcony. Hot tub on the roof terrace was a nice bonus. Private beach at the bottom of the hotel was also very nice. All in all it suited us perfectly and would recommend to friends looking for a nice modern self catering apartment in a good location. We are very glad we choose to stay in Maiori being one of the largest villages along the almalfi coast it had a large selection of lovely resturants to choose from each evening. Would definitely return!
Review 23:The accommodation was comfortable, clean and great for a family. The private beach was a fabulous bonus and relief from the hustle n bustle of the tourist Meccas.
Review 24:Wifi connection very weak and infact difficult to get reception in the apartments, but you only have to go outside to get reception again
Review 25:A great location even though you have to walk down quite a few steps to get to the accomodation. Apartments are clean and airy and pretty comfortable. Nice big terrace with a hot tub which we didn't use and can imagine that in the height of summer there would be a scramble for it! No problems with request for our car being bought to us - maybe cos it was September and not too busy...
Review 26:Location in terms of parking, if you are not renting a car this is a great place to stay, however, the need to have someone bring you your car everyday was not ideal. It is walking distance to main center of Maiori, but that is if you don't mind the walk.
Review 27:Great for young couples and families on a budget, nice updated rooms with great views.
Review 28:The bed is bumpy, you can feel each wire. The walk to beach is nice apart from the rubbish in the bushes.
Review 29:The view from our balcony on the see was very nice and there is aan small private beach. We also like'd the spacious modern clean interiour. Very nice!
Review 30:- Instead of proper bed we got a worn out sofa. - It's a 10 minute walk from the town on a very narrow road with heavy traffic, so you better head before it gets dark.
Review 31:- The place was very nice and modern and well equipped. - We had a spectacular sea view and huge balcony, although you actually had to pay extra to have them. - The beach is only few steps away. - The scenery is stunning.
Review 32:Hard to say anything bad about anywhere in the stunning Amalfi Coast and this property sits in a beautiful little bay not far from the township of Maiori. It is about a ten minute walk from the town and car parking is not possible on site but this was not a problem.
Review 33:Cooking facilities are not at all sufficient.
Review 34:Wonderful secluded location on busy Amalfi coast, private beach at 3 minutes walk.
Review 35:Great location
Review 36:parking is a nightmare mosquitos, many stairs private beach is useless small bed weak wifi
Review 37:No complaints
Review 38:Great views, not too far from Maiori and Minori
Review 39:Parking, Check-in/out, Access to the beach (trash)
Review 40:Coast, Beach, Room
Review 41:The way to the beach was quite unpleasant due to trash around.
Review 42:Great location, nice view, modern spacious room. Private beach.
Review 43:Far away from Maiori, dangerous (not lightened well) stairs down to the apartments.
Review 44:Private beach, excellent furniture and facilities.
Review 45:Reception is in a Hotel 1.5Km away. They give you the keys, some documents with instructions and phone numbers and kick you out. If you have a car you have to call someone to pick and bring your car every time you leave/arrive home. If you try to contact the responsible staff on the phone no English or french or any other language will be spoken besides Italian. Apartment full of domotics that doesn't work exactly well, Air conditioned keeps making noise all night even after switching it off (and Yes, I also turned off the electricity inside the apartment and the noise kept!). I don't recommend it.
Review 46:new and very nice facilities
Review 47:Entering and exiting the structure is very tricky because of long and steep stairs. Parking is also difficult, since the car park is about 1.5km far. There is a car service that you may call anytime. However, you must call it before arriving and departing to get your car taken away, but your freedom is partially compromised.
Review 48:The structure is well kept and the panorama is beautiful. The rooms are pretty fitted with accessories. There is a solarium where you can stay if you don't want to go out. Prices are affordable anyway.
Review 49:The bed is horrible, it is impossible to sleep. The shower is open into the bathroom and put water everywhere, make it sliding, dirty and uncomfortable.
Review 50:View to the sea. Calm and clean.
Review 51:leider war die ganze wohnung voller schimmel. trotz klimaanlage und lüften roch es stark gammlig. parkmöglichkeit nicht am hotel, auto wurde gebracht und abgeholt nach telefonischer bestellung. unfortunately there was mould all over the flat, everywhere. though using air conditioning, you could smell the intense mouldiness. there are no parkingspots at the hotel. you have to call a servicenumber in order to get your car picked up and back again. c'é molto muffa!
Review 52:lage, anlage, einrichtung, whirlpool
Review 53:No reception on site. Some of the staff at the reception were not helpful and sometimes rude. The room cards repeatedly stopped working. We didn't realise that room cleaning (including new towels) wasnt included and cost 10 euros every time we wanted it doing.
Review 54:Cleanliness, decor. Nice beach. Nice roof terrace with jacuzzi.
Review 55:It is very damp atmosphere in the apartments 1 and 2, located on the first floor, because there is no sunlight during the whole day,and the path to the beach is not tidy and designed,it's like in the forest.
Review 56:The location is excellent, very beautiful place and the beach is situated in the very picturesque bay. Apartments is well-equipped except the absence of the kettle.
Review 57:wi-fi slow, you have to pay for additional towels.
Review 58:Perfect place! With beach, beautifull view from terrace of the roof.Hotel surrounded by lemon garden fragrant of wich enter inside your window mmm...In the kitchen you will find everything that you need ,if you wouldn`t find somthing you can ask personal! Very good restuarant with good price in front of the hotel! And magnifisent cities Amalfi,Praiano,Furore(Fiorido),Positano,Atrani,Ravello Maiori,Minori In Tramonto very good pizzeria the name is Osteria e Pizzeria San Francesco!
Review 59:Little problem with the heating system
Review 60:The position in front of the sea
Review 61:no parking, no bus stops
Review 62:modern, newly furnished, good location close to the beach and very good terrace.
Review 63:Clean modern quiet friendly
