Reviews for Il Vicolo B&B

Review 1:The apartment was a bit challenging to find. Luckily, some locals pointed us in the right direction. The many stairs to the top floor also posed a challenge with luggage. The shower was tiny, making it too easy to accidentally change the water temperature with one's elbow while scrubbing up. Breakfast is not offered for those who stay in the apartments, but there are many coffee shops nearby.

Review 2:We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment on the top floor of the building. There were two lovely terraces, and the decor was fun and stylish. Overall, a comfortable place for our family to stop before catching a morning ferry. Although it was a bit farther from the port than we would have liked (at least 20 minutes with luggage), it was very close to the beach, where the sunset was absolutely gorgeous. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 3:Guiseppe made us feel home the very first second we arrived. They also prepared a little snack for our (very early) excursion the next day. The room was modern and clean.

Review 4:- Allowed late check in after hours . - Had to leave early in the morning to catch a bus and was offered breakfast by the port for free as we would miss the breakfast at the b&b which was much appreciated -10/15 min easy flat walk from the main bus area /port - advised of the best way to get the bus to Catania airport - new and clean b&b

Review 5:The house was extremely warm, the bath needed renovation (especially the shower), the wi-fi did not work in our floor, only at the reception, there was a TV available, but it wasn't working and one of the beds was clearly too small for an average-sized adult.

Review 6:The owner was nice and brought us croissants in the morning.

Review 7:Wifi doesnt work in room even if property is 4 rooms on 1 floor. Staff are not at property which makes checkin difficult, when i arrived a sign on door said to call a number, but seems that all 4 guests also had to do the same. You would think owners would reach out. Location a bit far from the centre if you are only staying in Milazzo to get to the islands

Review 8:Good room with lots of space, aircon and everything you need for the night

Review 9:We didn't realize that the train station was far from the town. We took the bus to the port, and if we had known to ask, that bus that might have taken us closer to the B&B. But, we walked to the B&B which was a long walk uphill.

Review 10:It was very clean and modern. The bathroom had it's own water heater so there was plentiful hot water with great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. It was in a quiet area, within one block of the beach and within a couple of blocks of the city center. The owner, Guiseppe, gave us a great recommendation for a family restraurant, Cucina Casalingua, which had typical foods of the area, and was reasonably priced. He also suggested that we visit the castle, and it is a must see, but wear comfortable shoes, as there are many steps to climb.Milazzo is a beautiful, busy port town. The breakfast was the typical Italian with meat, cheeses, yogurt and sweet rolls that arrived fresh from the bakery. The owner arranged transportation back to the train station for us. We definitely plan to return.

Review 11:very helpful and friendly staff (we were granted croissants and apricots despite the fact that the breakfast was not included, spacious apartament with separate living room, large terrace, many free parking spaces near the appartament

Review 12:nothing

Review 13:We only stayed for 1 night, but the staff was very friendly and prepared breakfast for us, because we left early in the morning to take the hydrofoil. Room was very clean, not far from the harbor.

Review 14:No complaints at all.

Review 15:We stayed one night only (in one of the very spacious appartments with a large balcony), but would have happily stayed longer. The facilities and furnishings (IKEA, I think) were excellent. The two staff members we met were extremely nice and helpful; and breakfast was excellent. It is a short walk to the town centre and shorter to the beach.

Review 16:Guiseppe was so kind to pick us u from the train station because he knew the public transportation wasn't running regularly in the off season. Very nice and quiet place but within a few minute walk to the beach and the center.

Review 17:Located 15 minutes on foot from the Milazzo port, free parking in the neighbouring streets, fre Wi-Fi, use of kitchen. We were upgraded and were given the ensuite room, even though we booked the room with external bathroom. We had an early check-out, so the owner prepared some food for us, which was very kind. Recommended!

Review 18:- Location is a bit hard to find - Location is a bit far from center if walking (approx 20 mins walk) -

Review 19:- Room is nice and clean - Air conditioning - Quite location

Review 20:Giuseppe, the owner, welcomed us in the most pleasant manner. The place was brand new and spotless. Giuseppe gave us the choice to have breakfast on the spot or at his bar by the Harbour. We opted for the latter solution. It was an excellent breakfast with suoerb croissants and fresh orange juices. Because breakfast was included only with the double bed-room but not with the flat, he offered it free of charge for all occupants. He found for us a free parking for the whole week.

Review 21:Fantastic staff explaining everything meaningful when you reach Milazzo; with his hints everything was easier to plan especially when you run a tour around the island w/o possibility of a slippage.

Review 22:Super friendly and helpful owners and staff. Excellent location if you want to visit the Eolian Islands and Stromboli.

Review 38:The breakfast room is open to the corridor, then it's very noisy in the morning, especially because of the staff of the B&B Mistake with the adress on the website at the moment of the reservation

Review 39:Spacy and nice room quiet , but only at night

Review 40:I could hear the other guests

Review 41:The staff Giuseppe, Cristina and Candida take care really well of me during my stay and helped me if I had problems. Is really near to the Castle and the old part. The restaurant suggested from Giuseppe was very good!!

Review 42:Wifi only works in kitchen in top floor apartment. Some of the beds are a bit old.

Review 43:Quiet no through road street. Close to supermarket and greengrocers for supplies.

Review 44:Nothing.

Review 45:The staff were fantastic. Christina ran us out to the train station without cost. We also had 2 bikes at our disposal which our son loved. It's close to the beach which if you walk to the right was a good place for swimming. Rooms were newly renovated and loved the comfortable beds. Would stay here again.

Review 46:When we first arrived there was no one there and we had to call the number to inform them that we were at the front door. Lucky I had an international phone to call otherwise id still be waiting! They should inform you of that when booking your stay. Internet... Did not work in our rooms. Only worked in the staircase near reception.

Review 47:We stayed here 2 nights and our apartment was nice and modern. Giuseppi made us feel very welcome and even offered to take us to the train station on the day we were leaving. Breakfast daily.

Review 48:The only things stopping me giving this 5* were the Sky/AC coming in and out (all be it during a storm) and the breakfast lady was very abrupt.

Review 49:Christina was a delight.

Review 50:Official check in time was 10AM but we could occupy room at noon :(

Review 51:Nice interior, close to the city center - good starting point to explore Lipari Islands

Review 52:Shower needs a re-doing. Water pressure was very low. No parking.

Review 53:We stopped in Milazzo just to take the boat for the aeolian islands. The B&B was a nice surprise - we had an apartment with terraces on all sides, simple but very clean and well equipped. Good value for money.

Review 54:This is good value of money. Good location. In apartamanet we found everything we needed and even more. Also we were very nicely surprised when we had to leave apartament to early for brakfast, so we were offered to have nice breakfast in owner cafe close to harbour including fresh juice. Good service. Thanks

Review 55:If you plan on arriving later than 9.00pm, make sure you inform the owner ahead of time. We weren't able to do that before that and the welcome wasn't exactly warm. I understand the inconvenience, but would have hoped for a friendlier attitude.

Review 56:The place was very nice, clean and spatious. Only spent one night while passing through Milazzo, but for our needs it was perfect. As a plus, we managed to find a place to park quite easily.

Review 57:Taxidriver who took us from the station to the hotel was reallyexpensive. Unfortunately there are not many taxis available from /to the trainstation and when we had to go back, we had the same guyagain... Woman who cleaned the rooms does not speak english a word butif necessary contacts the owner of the appartment. Milazzo was a goodstarting point for our trip to the islands. But I had the impressionthat there is not really much to see in milazzo. By the way: a return-ticket to vulcano and back costs about 30 euro per person.

Review 58:Fantastic appartment (called casa lemone) which was incredibly big!Kitchen fully equipped and really nice. Big balcony where you could sitoutside. Even washing machine in the bathroom. Biggest breakfast we everhad in sicilia, very good!!

Review 59:Bed and mattress. It has to be fixed.

Review 60:Giuseppe-the owner- was kind and simple. He gave relevant informationand advices. Breakfast at his port bar was good. Due to nicecommunication skills of Giuseppe, short stay in Milazzo was simple, convinient and pleasant.

Review 61:Cleaning lady / breakfast service was speaking only Italian and wasnot very nice - she stood over us when eating breakfast and rushed uswhen leaving rooms (although we were late after check out time).

Review 62:Very clean and tidy rooms, great and fast WiFi, no problem with parking.Nice owner - English speaking and very helpful.

Review 63:The breakfast was average and from our room we could hear the other guests coming and going quite clearly.

Review 64:Very clean and good location close to the port. Large room and well-appointed. The proprietor was friendly and informative.

Review 65:Breakfast was fine, but basic - not really a negative, just a comment.

Review 66:Great value for money, particularly as we had an apartment, rather thanjust a room. Guiseppe provided very helpful information about the localarea and dining. Location was good - we could walk in 2-10 minutes toboth sides of the peninsula.

Review 67:Excellent! Kind proprietor, nice and clean flat, wonderful place to havebreakfast (in the proprietor's own cafe) on the port with beautifulview to the sea and delicious food.

Review 68:We loved everything!

Review 69:We stayed here for 4 nights and we loved the B&B and Milazzo itself. The owners were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent . We had a choice of taking it at a port caffe or at the B&B. The decor of the rooms is beautiful and ours had an attached private courtyard. A fantastic place!

Review 70:Guiseppe was a fantastic host. Picked us up from the train and dropped us at the port. Too much food for breakfast.... and makes a mean cappucino! Excellent place to stay.
