Set right on the lakefront, Villa La Mirabella dates back to the mid 19th century. It features a large park with swimming pool overlooking Lake Como, and free indoor parking. The rooms have a classic design.
All renovated rooms at La Mirabella are air-conditioned, and come equipped with a flat-screen TV and a minibar. Some have views of the lake, and some overlook the garden.
The villa features a reading room, plus a dining hall and porch with lake view, where a sweet Italian breakfast is served daily. The restaurant is open for dinner, while snacks are available during the day.
There is a small mooring post in front of the villa for private boats and water taxis to tour the lake. Ferries and other boats depart from the dock 500 feet away.
Guests have discounts at the golf clubs in Menaggio and Cadenabbia. Villa Carlotta Museum is also just 500 feet away, while buses to Como, Menaggio and St.Moritz stop nearby.

The Villa was also very conveniently located right near the ferry which takes visitors back and forth to Bellagio every half hour. Plus it had a pool with a view over the Lake!

Paulo and his family did their best to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable from practical help with our Bernina Express tickets to leaving a breakfast tray in our room as we had an early start. The hotel is beautifully furnished and situated near the ferry terminal. One evening we dined at Villa La Mirabella - very good.

Review 24：The beauty of the location and peacefulness made the long drive up the west side of the lake from Como well worth while. Ferry service from Grante to wonderful villages across the lake and to Como very good. Villa Carlotta Gardens and the historical site near by very enjoyable. Many Cafe's and a wonderful family to look after guests. highly recommended. We had a great stay and hope to return.

Breakfast was lovely - fresh pastries and lovely juices. Villa is only 3 minutes drive to Menaggio where you can get the ferry to Bellagio or Varenna. Shops and restaurants only a few minutes walk. Lovely stay.
Review 33：We forgot to put out the "do not disturb sign" one day while we went to breakfast. Room was freshened while we were gone. We had not left it as we would for others to enter. i.e. personal belongings out and about.

Paulo the owner makes everyone feel so welcome and offered good advice for places we might like to visit during our stay. The swimming pool is clean and has a great view of the lake and the town of Bellagio on the opposite side. The villa has been restored to a really excellent level in every detail.

Review 45：Some other visitors have complained about the noise from the main roadwhich runs between the hotel and the lake; we did not find this to bea problem. However, one does have to be cautious when crossing thismain road.It would be nice if the air conditioning in Room 1 was more effective.
Review 46：This small hotel (11 rooms) was stylishly renovated about three yearsago so that the Victorian ambience remains but now provides moderncomforts. The swimming pool--behind the hotel in the hillside gardens--overlooks the Lago di Como; it was very relaxing to spend the afternoonthere. We parked our car in a small semi-underground garage and left itthere during our stay. On the day of our departure, Pablo allowed us toleave the car in the garage so that we could visit the Villa Carlotta;we walked to the Villa and picked up our car about noon.Pablo and Stefan, brothers who own and run the hotel, were always ready to answer our questions or attend to our needs, even though they were busy running the hotel, from cleaning the pool to serving dinner. We enjoyed the breakfast with tea, coffee (cappuccino, café latte or expresso), breads, jams, juice, meats, cheese, and yogurt; we also had an excellent dinner one night. Since it is a small place, we frequently enjoyed conversations with other guests in the breakfast and dining rooms. The hotel has high standards; it is a stylish, romantic place that offers a memorable stay. The hotel is also within walking distance of ferry docks with boats to Bellagio and elsewhere on the Lago di Como, of the famous Villa Carlotta where you can see Hayez Francesco's painting of Romeo and Juliet aubade, and of several restaurants. We had a risotto lunch in Bellagio and an outdoor, lakeside pizza dinner in a restaurant a few minutes walk north of the hotel.
Review 47：All along the west side of Lake Como it would appear that the hotel line and then the road and then the lake are all quite narrow so there is some traffic noise. Quite a poor offering of local restaurants in this area.
Review 48：This is a truly lovely hotel run by a family who are proud of their business and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. The gardens and the view from the pool were amazing and quite a surprise. My room was spacious and the bathroom very clean indeed. Very close to all the ferries etc to get to you beautiful places such as Bellagio and Varenne. I dined once at the hotel and the food was very nice and the service discreet.
Review 49：The Hotel was originally a family mansion, now remodeled and ran as a family business. Two brothers own and manage the property and see that you are kindly pampered. The hotel overlooks Lake Como, and the views are wonderful. Behind the property is a garden and pool which provide an elevated view of the Lake. The hotel is close to sidewalk restaurants and bars that line the Lake. Day trips to other Cities around the Lake are readily accessed by ferry, with a ferry stop within a short walking distance. This Hotel should not be missed.
