Reviews for Moskva Hotel

Review 1:Well, as always in India, 20% tax was not included in the initial price. I would say it is too expensive.

Review 2:Location is great, it is next to the temple. Room was ok, maybe not very clean, but with a/c, more or less hot water and very comfortable beds.

Review 3:-not so clean, especially the bed and the bathroom.

Review 4:-staff very kind and always ready to help. -great position near the center, the temple and best restaurants. -nice breakfast.

Review 5:The staff at the reception and restaurant very helpful. Very close to the main attractions. Good WIFI conection, perfect funtioning of air conditioned.

Review 6:The bathroom floor is not being cleaned regularly, my feet were so dirty when I moved around in the room that I had to wash them several times.

Review 7:Very good beds, extremely service minded staff, very good breakfast, high grade of comfort, clean and fresh beds.

Review 8:It was disgusting! Don't book it. Should not have the licence to run as a business.

Review 9:This place was so nasty. The beds had ants and the washrooms had huge cocoroachs. This should not be on bookings at all. I waked in and saw the rooms and left.

Review 10:Our room had no windows and that made us feel claustrophobic. The wi-fi was slow most of the time.

Review 11:For those wanting to go to the Meenakshi Temple this hotel is well located,as the temple is fairly close. If you go up to the terrace you can see all four gopurrams of the temple.

Review 12:Where can I get drinkable Coffee and estable jam in hotels in India?O.K. not so important.

Review 13:You can easy walk to the temple. Hotel organised a nice driver and wehad a good Trip to see things we liked. Fair price.

Review 14:Breakfast was too simple and there is place for improvement.

Review 15:Staff was kind and eager to help. Room was comfortable but without window and some people might find it a bit claustrophobic. Bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Location was very good - just 5 mins drive or 20 mins walk from Meenakshi Temple.

Review 16:The hotel's immediate surroundings are very commercial, but it's only a 10-minute walk to the famous shrine and downtown.

Review 17:The staff at the Moskva was very attentive to our needs, always ready to help.

Review 18:A little removed from tourist attractions but still managed to walk home from various locations around town.

Review 19:Room was great and I even chose one facing the street. Although noisy by day, got sime great sleep as the area becomes quiet at night. Staff wss very helpful and dining room super nice too!

Review 20:It’s a good place to stay in Madurai. The temple is 15 minutes away, or 5 minutes / 50 rupees by auto-rickshaw. They made to feel real welcome on arrival with a cold drink and warm greeting. The room was very well done , had all the facilities that a business hotel should have , bed was also good. Room and bathroom were very hygienically clean. Breakfast was buffet style , plentiful and tasty. They have good restaurant for meal. Staff is very friendly and efficient , they helped us with everything we needed (booking transports , change money , call our next accommodation etc). Very reasonable rates for a surprisingly high level of quality.

Review 21:Windowless room was stuffy even with air on, and there are only rooms facing the street (very noisy) or ones without windows.

Review 22:Very helpful staff and very comfortable bed. Good breakfast.

Review 23:Despite being in a busy street, my room was remarkably quiet and a very comfortable room. Staff were really nice and helpful; restaurant meals were of good quality

Review 24:We booked a taxi to the airport and they said they reserved their own car for 400 rupees. The next day when we checked out, suddenly the car was not available and they had to call another taxi on the spot (we were lucky that we were early) which was more expensive. Not very professional and they were somewhat rude about it, not acknowledging that they made a mistake.

Review 25:Rooms were clean and big enough. The bed was comfortable. Restaurant and breakfast were good enough. The location is on a main road, but we did not have much problem with the traffic sounds (even though we had a room on the first floor on the front side). It is close to the meenakshi temple.

Review 26:No hot water.

Review 27:Clean and comfortable room. The room I got had no windows, may be it's a good thing. Getting hot water was a hassle because of their solar water heating system. Couldn't waste any cold water to get the hot water, so I took cold showers. Its Madurai which is still a hot place in the winter. So the cold showers didn't bother me much. Oberall, I think this is one of the most clearly maintained hotels in Madurai.

Review 28:The area had repair or selling shops of all household goods and there were no restuarants or eating places around.

Review 29:Excellent value for money, good buffet breakfast and good restuarant. Very friendly staff. Well recommended.

Review 30:The breakfast was not to our liking but was was popular with the other residents and I could not work the TV but was not really worried about this.

Review 31:From the moment we walked in the door the lovely warm welcome told us we had chosen the right hotel. Our room was super clean and hygenic, very comfortable and everything worked (a first for us in India), the location was just a few streets away from the awesome temple complex, just lovely and perfect a great place to rest up after our travels.

Review 32:Yes traffic noise is a problem but i imagine the only way there won't be traffic noise in a city like this is to be out of the city. Wifi was occasionally a bit slow.

Review 33:A really nice hotel with modern interior and lovely rooms. Tv, air conditioning, comfy bed, warm water. Walking distance to the temple and great location to explore the old city from.

Review 34:- given the facility and the room, it turned out to be expensive. I paid Rs. 2800 + tax which it is not worth for. Room rent around Rs. 1800 would be appropriate. - small parking space

Review 35:- Location of the hotel - Size of bed in the room which is suitable for 2 adults + 1 child (6 yrs) - staff helpful

Review 36:Patchy wi-fi. The decor outside of the rooms needs refreshing.

Review 37:Excellent welcome and helpful staff. 24 hour check-out. Modern and well equipped room with good range of toiletries (useful if you lose your bag as it includes razor, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste etc).

Review 38:Room did not have window Breakfast - had to ask each time for more Location on busy road Did not help with taxi Do not stay at this hotel unless you want a hradache

Review 39:Too much sound, breakfast was ok but dinner was bad, cold and tasteless food. South Indian hotels should not attempt to serve north Indian dishes they fail miserably. The toilet bathroom fittings were bad, flush not working with no hot water and too many mosquitoes.

Review 40:The staff from the front desk and reservations were extremely helpful. They ensured our stay was comfortable and most helpful in arranging transportation etc. The people compensate for the lack of quality in the other areas of the hotel.

Review 41:The hot water was not available had to call up the house keeping. Hotel house keepting responded and provided Hot water in buckets for bath and had to spend more time for it.

Review 42:The hotel is centrally located and clean.

Review 43:On paying the bill noticed the paysa amount was Rounded up !!!!!!!! infavour of hotel was also short changed with money a few rupees..... Butthe look given by the receptionist just said tough luck .. to me !!! notproffesional at all Customer is king in the West windows did not open ..design fault too late now plus they were dirty ( but they would have tobe cleaned every 30 mins cos of Polluted Madurai air so not possible)Shower was not hot!!! Would have liked the option Toilet had a strangeclicking noise which was constant during stay. Washing facility good butto charge 100 rps for two items hotel rates I presume

Review 44:Bed large super king great sleep

Review 45:Rooms are a bit dated, an upgrade would help (however for the price OK). Also given the 3-star rating one would expect the property to be better equipped in terms of amenities, but no big deal if you stay only for a night.

Review 46:Luckily the hotel gave us a room with no window so our sleep was good. Breakfast and room were good. The staff was also good given the standards in India. And the location was very good for reaching everything in the city.

Review 47:Hot water took a fairly long time to arrive through the tap, but it did arrive eventually.

Review 48:Really comfortable beds. We had a street-facing room but the street noise was not a problem during the night. Really clean facilities. Staff were very responsive to our requests. Air con was working well. Food in their restaurant was delicious. We ate Indian food. Good size servings.

Review 49:It was located on a busy road, however was quite close to all the attractions.

Review 50:Rooms felt band new. They were very spacious with great bathroom, TV, lighting. The staff were helpful and arranged a free transfer to the station. The breakfast was ok.

Review 51:Hotel front side rooms are so noicy due to main road, You can't sleep.

Review 52:Reception staff Room size and Interiors are good Restaurant & Breakfast is so good Location is good near to temple and Rly. stn.

Review 53:I liked everything.

Review 54:Everything was great, all the staff and I was surprised with the room, super comfortable. When I arrive I thought it was going to be noisy because of the street but actually is not at all. And the food also delicious. I highly recommend it.

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:The staff from reception to cleaner to security to waiters etc where a tremendous advertisement for the Hotel. When you asked for anything it came immediately . I do not recall another Hotel where the attention to detail was so,good .they made me feel special and I dear say they will have made every other guest feel the same. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the room I had was superb .

Review 57:WIFI is limited to 10 hrs per day.

Review 58:WIFI worked well. Hot water pot in room for tea. Great shower, comfy bed. Staff happily drove me to a store to buy an extra travel bag to carry purchases home. Always willing to help if I had a problem. Spent an extra day in Madurai because I like the hotel so much.

Review 59:Since the restaurant is a common for Veg and Non-vegetarian food and place being small -- it is a bit uncomfortable for vegetarians. Would be better if they can arrange for a separate place in the hotel for Vegetarians -- May be in its Terrace -it would be better. Have given this suggestion to the Management.

Review 60:The very cooperative Management and the Staff--helpful attitude, giving of choice of rooms, help at the travel desk, are all handled with customer centric approach. Hotel's location is very near to the famous Meenakshi Amman temple-- so convenient and to commute to various other places too are quite easy. A good place to stay overall. Also easy on your wallet.

Review 61:The facilities, the information, ease of booking, practical suggestions, honest rates, agility in helping with local sightseeing, hands-on drivers & earnest and well informed management.

Review 62:The breakfast was a little disappointing & could be improved. The room rate exc. 12% tax, which we didn't realise so it cost us more than we anticipated.

Review 63:The staff were really welcoming & greeted us with fresh juice, fruit & necklaces. The room was very clean & contemporary, with good a/c, decent wifi, a modern bathroom & the bed was very comfortable. Despite the road being busy, the room was quiet! Overall we were impressed.

Review 64:Great food, very comfortable beds and the staff would always go out of their way to help us. In particular, Jeyabalan spent ages helping us organise our next train journey. Thank you, we had a great stay x

Review 65:The place is right in the middle of the street and not much of a view except the street. However the place is close to the station and rickshaws easily available outside the hotel.

Review 66:The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Special mention to Mr Jayapalan who even came to guide our way to hotel when we were unable to locate the place. People at front desk were especially helpful and they even offered us a free drop off to the railway station. Definitely we will consider visiting again

Review 67:The air conditioning was a bit too cold and didn't know how to adjust it. Also, driver we hired for 4 hours but later told us had limited mileage so came back after only 2 hours. Should have been clear from the beginning.

Review 68:Clean, everything worked, modern and comfortable room, staff very welcoming and helpful. Even bought us an Australian electricsl adaptor! Good restaurant. Tv had good choice of movies. Highly recommend it. Was our best hotel in 2 weeks of travel!

Review 69:Buffet Menu was very ordinary..We felt it below par..
