Review 1：We had 3 nights there and the property is right on the beach, it would be perfec for couples or families for longer stays. The rooms have basic kitchen facilities so you do not need to eat in restaurants every meal. It is easy walking to the bus stop to travel around the local area.

Review 2：This hotel was lovely. The location was great, and very close to Chania city centre. It was only 1.80 euro to take a bus to the city. The hotel staff was really nice! We really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 11：too crowded. The pool is very busy everyday and the sunbeds are always reserved. The water in the swimming pool is kind of salted. The area is full of tourists. The cooking facility is very poor. You can only boil some simple food. The restaurant is horrible, bad food and bad service. We tried twice. First time i took my two boys there and ordered one children dish for one boy because my another boy and I were not hungry. The restaurant staff was unhappy and showed a ridiculous face and asked: are you going to share one dish? Second time we ordered fresh watermelon drink and we got milk shakes. I asked and was told they don't have watermelon anymore! Huge contrast, the neighbouring restaurant 'olive tree' is excellent and we ate there everyday. Highly recommend! Platanias is not a good area to stay, too touristic. At least not good for family with children, maybe good for couples, nice nightlife.

Review 12：close to beach, nice air-conditioning. The staff at the reception were very kind and friendly. Room is very clean. Wifi is ok in the evening. But very weak during daytime. No signal in the room, either at the balcony. We need to go to the reception room to get wifi working. There are four computers in the reception and are free to use. My sons loved it because they can play games there :).

Review 17：2 bedroom apt with 5 adults and 1 baby.we were disappointed only 1 key provided for the room. We were advised we needed to see manager to request 2nd key but called to reception twice and missed manager both times. We managed with one key but a second key would have been much more convenient. This would not stop me from booking this hotel in the future.

Review 18：hotel ideal for families. We travelled with 6 month old baby and had 2 bedroom apt. We requested room on upper floor so we could leave buggy on balcony at nite but hotel was so secure I would be happy to stay on lower floor in this hotel. Lots of families staying in the hotel & I can see why there are 2 large pools and 2 small pools, a playground outdoors and a small playroom indoors. It is central and easy to walk to restaurants and the shops. Supermarket outside good value for basics too.Apartment had washing up liquid, sponge and tea towels. Room was cleaned very well by cleaner 6 days per week.Air conditioning was great & kept room nice and cool.

Review 19：what has disappointed is breakfast, first off all it was not included in price, and secondly it's private caffee with really everydays the same food! Omlet and sosige just bored us! Tasty but you can not eat it every every morning!

Review 20：Location is amazing, a lot of restorant and shops around. Swimming pool working till 22:00 and always warn water. Cleaning personal super, even to much, they clean every day!! Two times we reject it, cause we didnt have time even to make a mess. Everything is good ! Shelestins recommend!

Review 21：I don't have anything bad to say about the hotel but if you are looking for good night life, platanias wouldn't be ideal for that. Food in restaurants was nice and at a good price too.

Review 22：Location was perfect it was exactly what we were looking for as a young couple travelling Europe and looking to start off in a relaxing resort close to the beach and also with a pool. Our room was quite small but perfect for the both of us for the week and for the price we paid. All the staff were lovely which was a plus too

Review 23：The air conditioner was not working, so during the day it was like a small sauna! But who's staying at the hotel room during the day, right? :) But it was perfect for the night, because during the evenings it was pretty cold outside, with the wind from the sea. So actually it was really good to enter to my room after the dinner or a short walk in the night! No hot water at all! It was litle bit warm in the morning but in the evening was even cold.

There is no decent food anywhere around here which is really sad for Greece. We would never stay near here again. Fork out the extra cash to stay in the old part of the city. Even the beach is disappointing.

Review 32：The hotel allows guests to book sunbeds which is really irritating- you have to wake up at 7-7.30 to bring your towel to the pool to book sunbed so that you can get one for sure. What is even more irritating is that at 10-11 most beds are still waiting for their "bookers". We complained this at the reception but the answer was "Many people like to book sunbeds". Please think about it again Menia staff, most hotels don't allow it these days.

Review 45：Loved this hotel, staff were very friendly and approachable, the location was amazing! A grand beach just out the back of the restaurant with an excellent view, dont have anything bad to say about our stay!

Review 46：I think there are two main issues related to this hotel. First, the wifi connection in my room was very poor whilst in public area was really good. Probably, the poor signal pertains only some rooms of the hotel. Second, the sea in front of the hotel is not so good due to the presence of some rocks on the beach.

Review 57：I went there with my two sisters and we stayed for one week. The hotel is familiar, close to the beach (beach is not so espectacular, but nice) & to the lively life(shops, restaurants). I recommend to hiere a car for 2-3 days (90-120€) & visit the whole island- it is georgous with lots of spectacular beaches& historical places. The cleaning of the hotel is very good & the equipement better than standard (you have even products for washing up). The size of the room was a bit small, but we managed to instal us. The bus stop is close to the hotel, so you can go to Chania in about 30min. For sure I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Review 58：Me and my daughter travelled to Crete for 3 weeks as backpackers this August. The location of the hotel is perfect! The hotel was excellent for us, balcony, cooker, bathroom, 2 tables and chairs, 1 double bed and 1 single sofa/bed, hairdryer, safe box, all cutlery. The staff .. absolutely fantastic (they really look after you and make you smile everyday) ... down to earth people, the cleaning lady was AMAZING !! She did more than her job for us, absolutely wonderful (Thank you Yota)..all friendly, the hotel, the restaurant/bar...excellent. The pool facilities are brilliant (free). Internet access (free) wifi was good despite poor reception at times but there are free cable internet available at reception. Sky tv (free), which we didnt need as we were too busy travelling tis amazing Island daily. Parking facilities (free). The sunbeds around the pool were free, The ones on the beach for a very small fee (but we weren't there in day to use them) and all of them are no matter which beach or sunbeds you use. The food at the restaurant was great. I highly recommand this hotel. Furthermore, the location is fabulous, you can hire a scooter and travel everywhere. During our stay of 3 weeks, we have travelled on scooter (from Kreta rentals, great people with good prices 5mn walk from the hotel) to Rethimnon, Georgioupoli, Souda, Chania, Kolimbari, Kastelli, Gramvoussa, Balos, Falasarna, Sfinari, Elafonisi, Paleochora, Sougia, Hora Sfakion, Frangokastello and all surrounding areas. All fabulous places!!! I recommand all of them. The beaches in Platanias are good despite the few rocks around. The transport facilities are easy in terms of buses.
