Review 1：Some corrugated fencing around the compound detracted from the ambience but really nothing major

Review 2：Spacious, comfortable villa in a shady, tree lined compound. Nice pool, great restaurant. Amazing peaceful retreat from noisy Madurai city but only 15 minutes by rickshaw to the Temple.

Review 3：1) I had booked 2 rooms. We arrived early at 6.30am at the hotel and requested for early checkin, the hotel gave us 1 room at an additional half day charge. I am fine with payin extra charge for early checkin and also paid for 1 room. But when I saw another room next to my room empty and requested the hotel give it at 11.00am the person at the reception rudely told me that your checkin is at 12.00pm and taking the room before that will incur addition chgs for 2nd room also. He also told me that if you had booked the room directly through the hotel we would have given you the room but as you have booked it through a travel site we will not be able to give you the room. I have travelled places but never heard such a statement. When I asked that person to call the manager coz he was rude the person said tht he is only the manager. Finally I got 2nd room at 12.40pm. 2) Breakfast closes at 10.30am, I reached the restaurant at the time of closing and started takin the buffet. When I was filling my plate frm the buffet spread the hotel staff started clearing the spread. They didnt even bother to wait until I complete filling my plate. Then when I went to pickup bread there was no white bread as they had already cleared it frm the spread. When i asked for it they said they dont have white bread, I called the senior person and complained him then I got white bread. 3) Room service was also poor. From the security guard to the manager all were rude and didnt know how to interact with the guests. This hotel seriously needs to spend on staff training coz this is what matters the most in service industry.

Review 5：The room first given to us was filthy ..no other word for it .. We wereupgraded as there is no way that Room is a standard double .. Then therate on booking .com say 9235 to pay at the property .. I had to paytaxes on top and when I queried it they said a number of other guestshad complained of the same .. Get your act togather .. Whoever isresponsible !!! Never staying again .. Def not 5 star .. 3 at the best.. Too much to be done to the property to bring it up to 5 star

Review 6：Reception staff were a little difficult as far as the language barrier but everything works itself out in the end. Spa services could do with an upgrade.

Review 9：Very beautiful and fancy hotel with large and quite property, lots of privacy. The room is big and clean, great shower. Staff is welcoming and nice.

Review 10：The staff have poor training. There are lots and lots of staff hanging around with little to do and they appear more interested in securing tips than in doing their job.

Review 12：Our villa was on the furthest building in the resort, quite a walk away from reception. They give you anti-mosquito cream free with the room and there was a reason: we had a lot of little stinging insects in the room over night. Not mosquitos but not pleasant regardless.

Review 13：Huge room, huge bathroom, nicely decorated. Nice pool, excellent breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. Restaurant was pretty good. It's a few kilometers away from the noise of the city in a quiet green park. It has a certain retro charm.

Review 15：I loved every bit of it. Right from entering the gates of"Heritage", late evening. The trees , the cool breeze , theentire look of the property. The reception people all of them politenessand hospitality personified. Nancy, meera ( if I get her name right ,who upgraded me to a Luxury villa ) and most honestly each and everystaff with whom I interacted.The rooms were 2 big and large wellfurnished and colorfully decorated with each and every furnishing andupholstery , bedding , pillows, accessories , all exquisitely arrangedgiving the premise a blissful feel. And to add to it , there was aspecial private water pool with abundant outer space and experiencewhich one has to visit and experience. All in all a place whichtravelers will love to take a brief pause and relax and experience highclass elegance and services, Not to forget that the food served wasabsolute delight.

Review 18：My room had an issue with lighting but the staff helped sort it. the room keys only in a particular position lights the room else it doesnt.

Review 19：Clean, eco-friendly place, good staff, hotel had an amazing history to it. Do not miss the very old banyan tree and the beautiful door in the lobby. enjoying knowing about its history as a former British club which was transformed to a hotel.

Review 20：Unclean and stinking toilets. Faded towels and bed sheets. Sprawling ground but not well maintained. Definitely will not revisit nor suggest this to others.

Review 22：They helped in all front possible in hosting the event. Gave suggestions on lighting, food, decorations etc. also helped with decorations. Very nice team! Everyone of the guest felt very comfortable in the event.

Review 23：Rooms were not clean, particularly the flooring. Bath room emitted foul smell. On complaining, our room was changed on the first day. The new room was better but still inherited some the problems faced in the first room, except the chapped ceiling and scarred floor. Wifi signals were very weak. Towels were not clean; the staff had to be reminded almost every day to supply white looking ones. The hotel maintains a policy to protect environment within the premises, where they discouraged usage of vehicles within the premises after certain limits; Guests are transported to their rooms by a battery vehicle and there is only one such vehicle and many a time some waiting time is involved before the vehicle arrived. Food trays left outside the rooms were not cleared for long time.

Review 24：Reception staff was very good. In general the entire team in the hotel was quite friendly. Location of the hotel is good in a quiet environment. Lots of greenery with in the property but the place requires more attention with respect to its maintenance. Rooms are spacious and well ventilated. Very good ambience, particularly the swimming pool area the bears traditional look.

The history of the grounds was extremely interesting and really added to the uniqueness of the resort. I also had a spa treatment which was extremely relaxing. City tours were easy to book, customised and a good price. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone going to Madurai.

Review 51：I had to pay extra for my 8 year old while my 4 year old could stay free with my wife and I. Many places offer free stay for kids younger than 12. I stayed in Hyaat Regency Mumbai the day before and I didnt have to pay extra for my 8 year old.
