Reviews for Antara Hotel

Review 1:I stayed in 207 room that was the worse what i had in my trip - huge noise from the first floor whole night (kitchen is located there) which did not allow my family to sleep. In addition, ventilation from the kitchen was closely located to the window of my room and in terms of poorly functioned internal air conditioner, the room was smelled whole day and nights by fried dishes. Ufffff, still remember this smell and feel very bad from this memories.

Review 2:No AC in the hotel. It can get very humid in the summers

Review 3:The hotel is at the centre of the city with easy access to the ocean, the mall and the restaurants Loved the complimentary breakfast

Review 4:Not much. Staff not very welcoming or efficient. Had to wait 2 hours after check in time for room to be ready.

Review 5:Great room, great breakfast. Use of computers & printers. Great location.

Review 6:Because of problems with plumbing my colleague had to be sent to another hotel. We were not informed of this ahead of time.

Review 7:The decor and location. Staff were also friendly.

Review 8:I wish they would replace the old whirlpool tub. I would not take a bath in it. Also, the air conditioner did not work well. Other repairs were also needed.

Review 9:The location is great, short walking distance to the Larcomar Mall and the ocean.

Review 10:Air con needs upgrading, is noisy.

Review 11:Good value for the money paid. Very comfy bed, opening windows, good wi fi, right near the supermarket. Nice restaurant

Review 12:Breakfast was quite average.

Review 13:Location in the heart of miraflores. 15 min walk to the sea / larcomar. There is a big supermarket right next to it - very convenient. Room was very spacious

Review 14:When we arrived our booking.com reservation had been cancelled, ostensibly due to an "electrical problem". Antara continued to advertise the Executive Suite we had booked, at a much higher rate, thus the electrical problem was a ruse. They sent us to another hotel with an inferior suite, but charged us the rate for the executive suite, at five times the rate charged by the other hotel. This was a ripoff. I fell for this scam because I was tired and ill at ease in an unfamiliar city. Hotels should not be allowed to abuse services like those provided by booking.com.

Review 15:Nice building and restaurant, more like 2 stars.

Review 16:Although we made our reservation with booking and received a confirmation, when we arrived we were told they have a problem, they don't have a room and wanted to move us to a lesser hotel. After some discussions and our demand to see a manager, they suddenly found a room in the hotel. It was smaller than we ordered and should be less expensive but they didn't agree to refund. The hotel is shaby and has seen much better days,

Review 17:The location is very good and central in Mirafloures

Review 18:The staff werevery helpful with getting us checked in quickly and giving us directions to our Embassy. The room was very nice - a cute garden outside our window and corner fireplace were a nice touch.

Review 19:מלכודת לתיירים - ניהול תאב בצע הצוות אינו בעל תודעת שירות חדרים מוזנחים וריהוט מיושן ארוחת הבוקר דלה וקמצנית Tourist Trap - greedy management The staff is not a service oriented Rooms are neglected and outdated furniture Breakfast is poor and stingy

I have been in numerous hotels in peru - to think it is cost the same as dazzler lima wich located also in Miraflores is outrageous !

Review 21:CONS: • The check-in was not welcoming. “Michael” was at the front desk when we arrived. We had reserved 2 months in advance, but he was not ready for us. He wasn’t sure if we wanted a queen size (which we had reserved) or 2 twin beds. Furthermore, he never offered us the “welcoming, warm-perfumed towels, (to clean our hands at our arrival) nor the glass of champagne or orange juice” as offered in the website. We did get 2 tickets for 2 Pisco Sours, which was very nice. • We had a medical emergency and needed to call the U.S. “Michael” at the front desk was unable to give us the code needed to be able to call the U.S. from the hotel room. Moreover, he wasn’t helpful and he did not even pretend to try to help us. We found him to be the only staff at the front desk who was very unprofessional and rude throughout our whole stay! All the other staff was the opposite, really professional, polite, and nice. • The hotel has no gym. • There is no concierge. • The hotel does not have the amenities of bigger hotels. • One can hear the loud noise from the street at nights. • The bathroom in our room had a leak and the Jacuzzi was so old, the jets had permanent stains. The bathroom needs to be remodeled.

Review 22:PROS: • The staff is very nice and professional. • The hotel is in a very central location. • The cleaning crew does a great job in the rooms and in the hotel. • The room and the bed were very comfortable. • Rooms are spacious and clean. • The furniture is very nice. • The hotel and rooms have a warm decoration. • The hotel’s restaurant is good and very nicely decorated. • “Enrique” who works in room-service is very good. • The front desk exchanges currency. • The staff at the front desk speaks English. • Mr. Jose Carlos Tafur and Mr. Diego Ramos, at the front desk, are wonderful. Very professional and personable. • During our stay, one of the bellboys, “Javier”, stood out for his hard work and going beyond his bellboy duties to serve the guests. • The check-out was fast and accurate. • Each guest gets a complimentary “Pisco Sour” (the national drink of Peru) upon arrival.

Review 23:On one of our stays the water in the shower never got hot. The second time we stayed this was not a problem.

Review 24:We stayed here twice. The rooms are very comfortable and are decorated with Peruvian art. The breakfast was expansive.

Review 25:Room had fan only and no A/C

Review 26:Staff was very nice and breakfast was wonderful!

Review 27:Friendly staff and great location

Review 28:Dated accommodations that need to be updated.

Review 29:Great location and attentive staff.

Review 30:Staff was very helpful in answering questions regarding tourist attractions and restaurants.

Review 31:Shower hose connection leaked

Review 32:Great staff and perfect location

Review 33:Not enough towels

Review 34:The room was beautiful, the location excellent, the employees very nice, the breakfast very good.

Review 35:Bathroom a bit tired.

Review 36:Comfortable beds, nice breakfast and helpful staff.

Review 37:Great location and super friendly and helpful staff!

Review 38:Low shower pressure is only a negative point.

Review 39:Breakfast includes enough variety of food such as eggs, sausages, fruits, and breads.

Review 40:Excellent location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wifi easily accessible in the room. Would highly recommend.

Review 41:Position of Hotel Friendliness of Staff

Review 42:It's an old hotel.. The elevators doesn't look very nice

Review 43:Location and service was good I really enjoy it

Review 44:Well located, friendly staff

Review 45:We spend a little to much water in a waterless country

Review 46:The yaccuzzi , the flower arrangements the excellent staff, very attentive

Review 47:Location! Staff Brakfast

Review 48:Staff were super helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, lovely and comfortable. Sitting by the big fireplace on a chilly evening was a real treat!

Review 49:Bad WiFi connection in the room

Review 50:Good district, comfortable atmosphere, polite personnel

Review 51:Booked an executive suite and got a normal double room, by asking the reason I was told that the one I was given was ann excutive suite but looking again at the picture on the internet it was not

Review 52:I think could have given a better rate on bottled water - it was quite expensive to get it from the hotel. There is a grocery store right next door but it wasn't open when we were in need. If we had planned better that wouldn't have happened but I still think they could provide it at a better price.

Review 53:The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They attended to our every need. When we go back to Peru we will definitely stay here again.

Review 54:Airport shuttle: When we reserved with booking.com, we have the information that we have the airport shuttle service. It's not true. It was one of the reason, why we selected this hotel.

Review 55:Service, location, breakfast, staff.

Review 56:They don't actually have all the facilities they list. They are only in the premium rooms and not available to everybody. The listing does not seem to indicate this.

Review 57:Comfortable beds and nice rooms.

Review 58:A/C didn't work. One night guests next door talked up until 1:30 a.m. and since the a/c didn't work had to keep the windows opened.

Review 59:Location and breakfast was adequate.

Review 60:This is a classic small Mirafloreno hotel with service at a high standard. Good value. The location is the best...walking distant to many restaurants and commerce. The neighborhood is perhaps the all around best in South America.

Review 61:Nothing to dislike. Wish we could have spent more time here.

Review 62:Everything: location, comfort, staff, breakfast, restaurant, value, and super clean. After a week in the jungle it was a great way to spend our last day in Peru. Highly recommend the hotel. Easy walk to Avenida Larco and to the Malacon (shopping mall atop the bluff). We had an 11PM flight and we we allowed to store our luggage in their special room at no extra cost.

Review 63:Electricity was out day 1 so we had to relocate to another hotel for a day - they said this seldom happens.

Review 64:Warm and welcoming - big room and feel of Peru rather than an institutional generic hotel.

Review 65:Was shocked to be charged $70 for the mini bar. All I had were a couple of candy bars and a few bags of chips. If I'd know I'd be charged so much, I could have gone to store next door.

Review 66:Fan in room didn't work so forced to have window open onto very busy street, bathtub didn't work well, one staff, possibly rude on arrival

Review 67:Breakfast

Review 68:The bedding in the room was dated and heavy but the sheets appeared clean. Electric plugs were old and not convenient, but they were there.

Review 69:The location was excellent with a gourmet grocery on the corner, and everything else close too. The bell man spoke English very well and arranged taxis for me that worked out perfectly! The little restaurant in the front was charming and had a great breakfast in the mornings!

Review 70:The items for sale in the fridge were in US$ and overpriced. The receptionist did not inform us that local calls were charged too and very expensive 70 soles for a 20 min. local cellphone call, that's a lot!

Review 71:The hotel's staff was very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was very good too. This hotel was probably one of the most quiet in the area.

Review 72:This hotel is fantastic. Everything you could need minutes from great food and shopping. Staff were professional and helpful. Breakfast buffet varied and plentiful. Room was comfortable and spacious.

Review 73:Wifi not great, it was OK to check emails and FB but not much else. Don't stay on ground floor..too noisy in morning

Review 74:Extremely helpful friendly staff, anything you need they will find.Wonderful location, close to everything. Great breakfast, everything really fresh. Nice size rooms. Fast and efficient room service. Good price and service for Airport pickup, only $35. It was also so refreshing that not every member of the staff expected a tip for every little thing they did for you. They did it because they wanted to make sure you had a good time. When I did tip they were genuinely appreciative.

Review 75:We liked everything about it.

Review 76:we loved this hotel. The service, the location, the size and comfort of the room. The price was reasonable and our stay was perfect.

Review 77:The hotel is beautifuly decorated, showcasing peruvian art (ceramics, silwer, paintings), and is full with plants and flowers, which provides a unique and warm atmosphere. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel kitchen is very good. The hotel is located in the safe and beautiful Miraflores ditrict, with many opportunities to walk, to eat, to shop...

Review 78:When checking out they used their exchange rate which was about 10 soles less than you could get on the street. A real rip off

Review 79:Good location. Was fairly quite.

Review 80:There is honestly nothing bad I can say about this hotel, I could not have asked for more. For anyone visiting Lima, it is in the perfect location right next to a 24 hour supermarket, close to casino and within a few minutes walking distance of Kennedy square and Larco Mar shopping mall which has an amazing range of bars, cafes and restaurants.

Review 81:a bit expensive noisy during the day if you needed to nap

Review 82:free breakfast was very good clean, modern, and comfortable very professional staff, helpful and courteous

Review 83:Hotel car transfer rather pricey compared to other hotels/taxi.

Review 84:Hotel smelled wonderful! Free, fast wi-fi; very clean; good breakfast; lunch specials available.

Review 85:The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent. Good WIFI and business computers. Inhouse airport taxi was heavily overpriced.

Review 86:The whirlpool bath was an older model and the jets were not spotlessly clean.

Review 87:I loved the big, comfortable bed and bed linens. The room was large, very clean. The bathroom towels were very soft and plush. Extremely comfortable experience. This was my second visit and I plan to stay again on my next trip to Lima.

Review 88:This hotel is overrated and overly priced. Front desk staff does not speak English sufficiently to answer questions. Breakfast is fair and the bed very soft. Charging the room in USD and converting it to Peruvian Soles at the rate of 2.95 Soles=1 USD (Normally 2.65 Soles=1 USD) if you want to pay the price with credit card is a rip off!! You must carry with you USD cash to pay the hotel...Also, don't ask them to call a taxi for you, because you will pay at least 30% more than the average. Another advice is always bargain with the taxi driver for half the price they ask for.

Review 89:Central location in Miraflores

Review 90:Nothing the hotel met exceeded all my expectations

Review 91:The ambiance of the hotel, the very friendly and helpful staff, the closeness to the centre of Mira Flores, the breakfast, the large well appointed room, the excellent Wifi, the supermarket next door. It is a lovely hotel

Review 92:Towels changed in contradiction to eco policy Rooms in front exposed to street noise - take ear plugs! Lack of tea making facilities in rooms Poor exchange rate - 2.95 PEN / $ when we stayed Compulsory 10% service charge

Review 93:Comfortable and generous rooms Very good staff Rooms at rear very quiet in a very noisy city

Review 94:No hot water, which was a bit disappointing considering it is billed as a four star and was quite expensive.

Review 95:location excellent, otherwise nothing amazing.

Review 96:We booked a room at a sale price 2 weeks in advance, arrived to find noroom availble while the staff arranged a room for us at the San Martinit was just an apt type and only fair quality.Watch currency conversionexchange rates, while they advertise room at local peru currency theyconvert to $us at rate of 2.9 versus any other rates we found at 2.55-2.6.We travelled in Peru for 8 weeks and found this place was our worstexperience.

Review 97:Nothing about this place warrents the high price, while the dinning roomwas very nice and service there good the food was just average at best.

Review 98:The minimum size of the bathroom.

Review 99:The old unique style in very good condition. The warm ambience of the entrance and breakfast area. The ample size of the room.

Review 100:Staff does not communicate so you need to repeat, and repeat, and repeatagain... Housekeeping reported water taken from minibar although I nevertook anything from minibar ... was not charged but had to sign a waiverlike a criminal for a 4$ bottle of water although I had stayed there for9 nights = 1000++us$ !!! Whirl bath but I dare you to use it withoutmessing the whole bathroom...

Review 101:Well located, spacious enough room

Review 102:Wish there had been complimentary coffee available to guests throughout the day.

Review 103:Tastefully decorated, immaculately clean. Personal & superb front desk & door service. Broad variety of flavorful and/or healthy food on complimentary breakfast buffet. Central location on a quiet side street is absolutely perfect: next door is Vivanda Supermarket which is open 24/7 with an excellent selection of any food or beverage; hotel is on Ave. Alcanfores which is parallel to and 1 block over to busy Ave. Larco; hotel is 6 blocks 1 way to Larcomar shopping center and the sea, and 4 blocks the other way to JFK Park, shopping, artesania markets, sidewalk cafes, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts.

Review 104:A beautiful Boutique Hotel in the centre of Miraflores. It has a sense of intimacy and privacy that is difficult to find in larger executive or luxury hotels. The decor and spacious rooms are tasteful, aesthetically pleasing and the hotel is in walking distance of restaurants, Larcomar, Malecon, supermarkets, and main plazas. The staff spoke perfect English and were great. I loved staying there.

Review 105:Thin walls...could hear everything in the next room

Review 106:Great location, easy walk to everything in Miraflores

Review 107:Rooms are a little dated but not horrible

Review 108:Excellent Staff and very helpful. Great location

Review 109:Wifi too slow, extra small towel for the facial wash.

Review 110:Perfect location, nice spacious room, and good sound isolation

Review 111:Lovely small hotel in excellent location. Good value.
