Reviews for Hotel Esperia
Review 1:The bathroom was very awkward. It wasn't possible to have a shower without flooding the floor and there was not a square inch of space to put a toiletries bag. Another case of looks good but not practical.
Review 2:Nice and helpful staff and a good breakfast. Quiet location (important to us) although isolated if we hadn't had a car. Wonderful view from a pleasant, useable balcony.
Review 3:The area is a little underdeveloped (unspoilt?) and could benefit from some more shops and amenities. I suspect in a few more years it will really take off.
Review 4:I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The hotel has a colourful boutique vibe and the staff were absolutely lovely. The decor is really quirky and the breakfast was wonderful (the freshly baked biscuits were delicious!). The owner even gave my husband and I a lift in his own car to the port free of charge! Milazzo is definitely worth a look in its own right and not just as a stop on the way to the islands. The hotel is across the road from the long beach which stretches all the way from the centre of town and settles under a cliff - really lovely. There is a lovely relaxed beach bar a few minutes walk from the hotel with cheap beer and the hotel is two minutes from a fantastic pizza restaurant (il tritone). Very chilled location. Not a party destination.
Review 5:Had trouble finding it; it is not at 128 Via Tono, it is at 158. When we pointed this out to the desk clerk, he said something about GPS. Didn't like being locked into the grounds or being locked out of the lobby in the early morning. Parking is a public beach lot across the street; I imagine this could be a problem at times. Although it is close to town, be aware that there is no restaurant in walking distance.
Review 6:Helpful staff. Quiet and comfortable.
Review 7:The breakfast was outside in the small garden and with all the people accommodated we had no free table and had to wait. We did not asked if it was standard but in colder period it could be a bit inconvenient. Very good restaurant nearby 5 minutes walk.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:When we asked about swimming we were given an umbrella and offered seats to take down to the pebbly beach. The water was the cleanest clearest ever. Very good breakfasts. A very good take-off point for the islands.
Review 10:No negatives at all
Review 11:The owner and staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too muchtrouble. The small hotel is a wonder of flair and design - a livinggallery. Quiet location opposite the beach, we couldn't have wantedany more. Would highly recommend. Brian and Betsy , Sydney, Australia
Review 12:Most of all I like staff, they were very pleasant and helpful (especially Maria). I like sea view from my balcony. The hotel itself small and cosy, everything very clean and convenient. The breakfast was better than average, with the choice of fresh fruits, serving in the garden. There is a very good fish restaurant La Muciara, at the end of the street, 300 meters from the hotel. The port is far from the hotel, but if you want to go by boat to Aeolian islands, the staff will organize shuttle(for free).
Review 13:About 2 km from the port but just in front of the beach.
Review 14:Everything
Review 15:Location a bit far from the city centre and to the port so if (as it is likely) you wish to take the ship to the Aeolian Islands, we have to drive there and park the car in the city.
Review 16:Very nice hotel, we were two couples and were offered two extremely large fully equipped appartments, open to the inner court. Kind and helpful staff, quite high confort level overall. Plenty of parking space around -at least when it is not peak summer season-
Review 17:My husband and I drove all over Sicily last month and one of our favorite hotels was Hotel Esperia. The view is amazing. The beach is really beautiful and not touristy or crowded at all. In fact, we were the only people at the beach all day. It was such a relaxing place. The owner was absolutely friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back to Hotel Esperia.
Review 18:Be aware it is not in the centre of Milazzo. About 30mins walk to the port/town centre.
Review 19:Nicely decorated rooms - each one has a theme. Makes a change to standard hotel decor. Located opposite the beach. Lemon tart at breakfast was amazing!
Review 20:It would be easier to find with a clearer street map to download.
Review 21:It has a lovely view of the Sicilian coast and the Aeolian islands (less Stromboli); sitting on the balcony watching the sun set is delightful. We used it as a base to take a boat trip. It is not too far from the harbour to walk there from the hotel. It has ready access to the beach and other people from the hotel were using it. Would recommend a walk round the castle, the views from there are superb.
Review 22:Owner and his staff where extremely helpful in a very difficult situation where our ferry was cancelled b/o bad weather. The rooms where exeptionally beautiful and each was designed along a theme. I have rarely seen anything as creative as this in a hotel.
Review 23:This hotel is situated right along the sea front. From our balcony wecould see the Aeolian Islands - a pity the weather was windy so a tripto the islands was not possible. The hotel has a modern design. Our roomwas clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice ; their tips aboutwhere to visit and where to dine proved to be very helpful.

Review 29:Beautiful small and family-run hotel right in front of the sea. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay.
Review 30:Not sound proof
Review 31:Breakfast, staff good were able to change booking to different date without extra costs. Good free parking. 30 minute walk from ferry.
Review 32:We were given a small apartment rather than simply a double room with facilities. Nice beach and excellent inexpensive restaurant nearby.
