Reviews for Harbour Hill Farm B&B
Review 1:The visit was too short. We should have stayed another day!
Review 2:We were warmly greeted by Nigel upon arrival, who showed us through the gracious & beautifully decorated home. The living room and sunroom are wonderful gathering areas after a day of touring. We had the room with a double and a twin, which was fresh & inviting with an ensuite renovated bathroom. They had every amenity, from wonderful soaps & lotion, to a teapot, and more. Upon waking, we were treated to the best breakfast of our stay. Siobhan makes the best brown bread we had ever tasted, and we tried it at almost every meal of our trip. The breakfast was delicious and the conversation with both guests was genuine, funny and warm. We discussed photography with Nigel and the joys of raising children with Siobhan. Their personal touches and caring make this an extra special place. Walking distance to Charles Fort, and minutes drive to downtown, the farm was a perfect spot. Next time in Kinsale, I will definitely be here to stay.
Review 3:The room was very sweet and cosy. There's a wonderful view through the window. The owners were very friendly and gave us good tips for the evening and the following day.
Review 4:A very nice quiet place far enough away from the town that it is quiet, yet close enough for a nice walk into town. Kinsale is a beautiful little piece of heaven - make sure you do the ghost walk.
Review 5:beautiful location with stunning view from the room, extremely friendly hosts with local knowledge and amazing choice of well cooked and presented food- can't praise this B&B enough
Review 6:The owners are wonderfully welcoming and the breakfast is fantastic! I can personally recommend the waffles. The bed and bathroom are comfortable and well equipped.
Review 7:Nothing
Review 8:Superb B&B with friendly, helpful hosts Siobhan and Nigel. We had a spacious, immaculate room and bath with a wonderful view over the countryside and to the Atlantic. The breakfast was the very best of our month long visit to Ireland with an array of items on the buffet and delicious cooked entrees from which to choose. The location is perfect out in the country with incredible gardens all around the home, yet close to Kinsale and local attractions. It took 10 minutes at the most to be in Kinsale with the car parked. The B&B is easy to find (and we do not use a GPS). Before the trip we kept thinking it might be better to stay right in the village, but we are thrilled we selected Harbour Hill B&B and we recommend it with the greatest enthusiasm.
Review 9:We didn't have a chance to stay longer.
Review 10:In retrospect, after traveling in Scotland & Ireland for 21 days this was our favorite B&B on the entire trip. Nigel & Siobhan were gracious host's which made the stay special. Nigel's daily homemade breads & scones were delicious, as well as, fresh eggs gathered each morning for breakfast. Siobhan flower gardens were lush, vibrant & beautiful.
Review 11:Siobhan and her family are so warm and welcoming you feel as if you've stepped into the home of long lost relatives Their home is relaxing, clean bright and cheery. Bedroom was comfy and bathroom was immaculate. But the best part is the breakfast the family serves you. Fresh fruits, scones, breads, eggs from their own hens. Wonderful. And Siobhan knows the local restaurants and will help you plan your route. Can't say enough good things about our stay. Recommend it 100%
Review 12:Thin walls meant I could hear the inconsiderate people next door talking until 0030......fortunately they weren't there the second night and all was forgotten
Review 13:Country location with good views, Marvellous breakfast choice.
Review 14:Siobhan and Nigel were very friendly hosts. The view from our room down to the sea was most beautiful. Kinsale was a trendy little town with wonderful food options. Charlesfort nearby was an extremely interesting glimpse into local history. Breakfast was amazing!! Thank you!
Review 15:As all Americans will always say the bed was hard. But if you live or travel in Europe you get used to it. If just traveling from the states, your first night's sleep may be a little rough.
Review 16:The bed and breakfast has the most beautiful views. The bathroom was clean, the bedroom was clean. I felt right at home when I arrived. Breakfast was spectacular.
Review 17:A lovely warm welcome from Siobhan a super host. A beautiful spotlessly clean room with a fabulous view. The breakfast was terrific Nigel makes great bread and Siobhan the lightest scones in the world! In all a fantastic trip and blessed with great weather! We will be back! Thank you
Review 18:Nothing at all!!!
Review 19:Such a lovely warm Irish welcome by Siobahn and Nigel. magnificent breakfast and vista from the beautiful breakfast room. stayed at B & B s all week- this was the best breakfast by far! Siobahn went out of here way to assist us when we realised we had left our credit card at service station. Kinsale is a beautiful town.
Review 20:We were very happy with our stay.
Review 21:Lovely, friendly couple and the best breakfast we had in Ireland, bar none! Homemade cheese and bacon scones, paprika and pepper bread and soda bread. A waffle beautifully served with fresh fruit and a little jug of warm maple syrup. Poached eggs on neat triangles of toast with a rocket and watercress salad. Everything was more in keeping with a high class - and far pricier - hotel than a B&B.
Review 22:There is absolutely nothing to fault but fyi you would need a car to getinto Kinsale and the wifi was quite spotty.
Review 23:A wonderful ambiance at this family run B&B. Very friendly, hospitable and most helpful hosts. Lovely quiet location and comfortableroom. The breakfast was the best in our travels through Scotland andIreland. Highly recommend.
Review 24:Absolutely everything! Great welcome by Siobhan and Nigel, the best breakfast we have had anywhere and the perfect location for visiting Kinsale where we had an amazing meal at Man Friday's.
Review 25:Unfortunately due to the construction of the rooms you could hear your neighbour next door.
Review 26:Beautiful views although not walking distance from town. Very friendly landlods who was always prepared to help. Excellent breakfast.
Review 27:Would need a car it is about 10mins drive from town which suited us find. Also could do be black out blinds!!!!
Review 28:Lovely B&B very friendly owners and staff. Rooms and Breakfast lovely.
Review 29:Driving into Kinsale was the only logical option. We had a car so it was no problem but if you wanted to walk you would need to allow at least an hour one way to get to town.
Review 30:Beautiful view and staff was very nice and accommodating.
Review 31:Our room was small but the view, the friendly people and the great facilities and wonderful breakfast more than compensated.
Review 32:Best breakfast. Good facilities. Lovely quiet location.
Review 33:This is a farm so too far to walk to town except we did a pleasant 2km walk down farm lanes to a really good pub
Review 34:Fantastic breakfast; an amazing spread, delightful hosts and pleasant grounds
Review 35:It is certainly more than 1.5 K to Summer Cove, we had thought we would walk to restaurant.
Review 36:Very helpful staff, no problem finding storage space for bicycle.
Review 37:There wasn't anything to dislike
Review 38:Lovely welcome, beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was fabulous - we had been told that Clonakilty made the best black pudding and it certainly was. Nothing to fault. Wonderful.
Review 39:The B& B was set in a beautiful garden and the room was well appointed. Kinsale is a very interesting place to visit and the B& B was close by with a car. The hosts were fantastic, looked after us very well and the breakfast was superb!! A great place to stay.
Review 40:There was nothing we didn't like.
Review 41:This family run B&B is excellent, Siobhan and Nigel and her daughter are all lovely - we loved everything there, quality of premises, view from the window, service, cleanliness, dog friendly, breakfast is really really nice- homemade Siobhan's bread, and everything is locally sourced and organic. It was our first time staying in B&B, but i have to say we were super impressed as we felt like at home, but in the hotel. They really look after their customers, lovely family and i would have no hesitation to come back there anytime. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Also its very close to city center of Kinsale.
Review 42:Beautiful breakfast, lovely home made bread. Lovely beds really comfortable. Siobhan was the perfect host. Would highly recommend Harbour Hill farm B&B
Review 43:Absolutely nothing
Review 44:The house was immaculate, gorgeous and the view was outstanding. Beautiful garden. the lady who owned it was so very friendly and accommodating!
Review 45:Very clean & well presented. Delightful, friendly hosts who produced an amazing selection of delicious options for breakfast. Lovely country views from windows, & a few minutes drive from town centre.
Review 46:That we could only stay one night based upon our travel plans.
Review 47:Loved the house, and it's overall upkeep and location. Our hosts were most congenial and helpful. Excellent breakfast spread too!
Review 48:Does require a car to get to, but then is just a 2-3 minute drive out of central Kinsale. And only 20 minutes from Cork airport.
Review 49:- Breakfast - Room - Bathroom - Owners All of these were 100% perfect!!!
Review 50:It was a little hard to find the place when coming back from town of Kinsale, and the roads aren't very well lit. Also, the driveway up to the property is quite narrow, so be careful!
Review 51:The house was gorgeous, as well as the views. Siobhan was lovely, and had great suggestions for dinner. The breakfast was incredible as well.
Review 52:The garden in front of the house is beautiful. The room was comfortable. Siobhan & Nigel are very friendly and she is a wonderful cook. The guest lounge is very nicely decorated.
Review 53:Radiator was turned off. No in-room heat adjustment so we desert folks from Arizona were a little chilly at night.
Review 54:Setting,view, garden, 6-8 choices of homemade food for breakfast, harbor view.
Review 55:Nothing, was sad to leave!
Review 56:Nigel and Siobhan were wonderful hosts, they make you feel right at home. The setting of the house is beautiful with a bay view and has a working farm behind it, which is wonderful at breakfast to have fresh eggs, cream, butter. The room was big, especially compared to other B&Bs we stayed at. The fresh baked breads and scones at breakfast were also better then any of the other places we stayed as well. I can't recommend this B&B enough, perfect place to stay when visiting Kinsale! I'm sad we only stayed one night, will definitely be back!
Review 57:Noise when arriving guests or at cleaning or family stuff......voices carry up the stairs from family room etc
Review 58:Out of town, nice view, Google breakfasts
Review 59:We didn't make it up for breakfast but were offered tea and coffee. Siobhan the owner was even gave us a spin to the local hotel to collect our car!
Review 60:We should have stayed here longer
Review 61:This has got to be the best B&B in all of Ireland. Arrival greeting with coffee and tea and cake in sunroom. Full breakfast, oh so delicious. Owners treated us like family. Thanks Siabona (sp?)
Review 62:Friendly owner, lovely room and views, beautiful garden, breakfast best we've had anywhere so much choice and quality ingredients. Comfy sofas and log burner and a gorgeous conservatory for breakfast with views across the garden to the sea.
Review 63:Not much to not like.
Review 64:Great breakfast and best we had at any B&B. We chose our main breakfast course from a menu. The eggs were fresh from their farm. Very friendly and just minutes from town.
Review 65:Our hostess and host were delightful, the accommodations are very nice, the location beautiful and it is convenient to Kinsale and other points of interest.
Review 66:Nothing to dislike
Review 67:Located in an area away from the crowds but within an easy reach, by car of Kinsale and surrounding area. Excellent choice for breakfast and you would need to stay a week to try everything available!!
Review 68:Siobhan and Nigel were wonderful hosts. Their farm fresh breakfast was some of the best we've had. Despite the out of town location, it is worth it!
Review 69:Further from town than specified on website. Walls upstairs not soundproof.
Review 70:The lady who runs B&B took us a lovely pot of tea on arrival...very much appreciated. Great choice for breakfast.
Review 71:Very friendly! Breakfast was fantastic. Our rooms were lovely and comfortable. Gave us great advice as to what we could do in the area and where to eat

Review 75:Breakfast was a real treat. All meals were freshly prepared, there was a great choice, with a healthy alternative of fruit, yoghurt, meats , cheeses and cereals. You could tell that the hosts took great pleasure in running their B & B.
Review 76:Please give the GPS coordinates in order to find the house easier.
Review 77:We were treated like royalty by the owners, the view from the B & B was gorgeous, the room was perfect, the breakfast was more than we ever expected and delicous, and the owners gave excellent hints and guidance to visit nearby sites.

Review 79:We loved everything! Great location, beautiful house, gracious and friendly hosts, unbelievable breakfast. Want to go back as soon as possible!
Review 80:We enjoyed the location outside of the town. Facilities were modern and very nice. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Owners very helpful.
Review 81:This is an amazing B and B. Siobhan and her family were all over-the-top friendly and helpful. The rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was outstanding.
Review 82:If only the Internet speed could be faster.
Review 83:My husband and I planned a two weeks around Ireland trip and this is our third stop, and frankly the first B&B that we felt like home, the hostess was very helpful and friendly, we asked about restaurants option and she gave us some (Fishy Fishy and Max's) and they all turned out good, though we liked Max's better. The hostess really enjoyed having guests staying over and have a little chat with them to make them feel welcomed.
Review 84:We stayed in one hotel and four B and Bs while in Ireland. This was by far our favorite due to the wonderful family that runs it. The setting was beautiful and the room was very nice as well. We also enjoyed all of the fresh fruit at breakfast.
Review 85:Nothing, all was perfect!
Review 86:The B&B and owners were wonderful! The room we had with a view of the harbor was very comfortable & beautifully decorated. Breakfast was fresh & delicious, and, as a family of 5 with very different likes/dislikes, we appreciated the variety of both hot and cold breakfast items. The hosts were wonderful and personable. We got both a glimpse into the life of an Irish family & great tourist tips. The B&B was located ~ a 20 minute walk from town. Our hosts showed us how to get to town by walking through the pleasant countryside. After a delicious dinner at Bowman's pub, we took a quick and inexpensive taxi ride back. All in all one of my favorite B&Bs that we stayed in during our 9 day visit to Ireland, and best breakfast) . I plan to go back to Kinsale, and will definitely stay here!
Review 87:You need a car to get to and from the B&B. It is a quite drive to the Kinsale, but definitely not convenient to walking. Definitely work staying there if you do have a car (just park right by the entrance of Kinsale as roads are narrow and tricky to navigate within the town)
Review 88:Beautiful location outside of Kinsale. The grounds and inside of the B&B are both beautiful, with lovely gardens and a pretty brook. Siobhan was a lovely hostess and helped make the stay very enjoyable. She was also very accommodating for our late arrival. The room was spotless! We had booked a triple with a single and a double, but Siobhan had an extra room so that we each got our own bed for no extra charge. The highlight of this B&B is the wonderful food, all lovingly prepared from farm-fresh ingredients. I could have stayed there for a week or more.
