Reviews for Villa Margherita
Review 1:As you can see in our score of 10, we liked everything. What we see as an extra plus is the good atmosfeer the owners have created. As guest you feel at "home". The Villa is located very central to the train station and the center of Levanto. Beside the Cinque Terre villages, Levanto is also a very nice village and feels not too touristic. We enjoyed our stay very much and stayed longer than planned and we will return for sure.
Review 2:The hardest, most uncomfortable beds in Europe. Couldn't get a good night's sleep. Had to schlep our own bags up 3 flights of stairs
Review 3:Private parking, elevator from garage to main level. Generous buffet breakfast. Terraced gardens.
Review 4:Shower and toilet is very small not in the appointment and shared with other apartments. One window was broken to open.
Review 5:Location is very good. It is OK for not more than 2 people to stay longer than few nights.
Review 6:Everything exceeded expectation.
Review 7:Location was excellent, easy walk to train, village and boat. Villa was charming and we were upgraded to an apt. suite and had only booked a room. Breakfast was hearty and varied. We really liked staying in Levanto as it was a bit quieter and had easy access by car.
Review 8:Loved the location, views and the terrace. It was lovely to enjoy the breeze on the terrace during the hot days. Frederikco was really helpful and pointed us in the right direction on many occasions. The owners were very accommodating in letting us hang our washing on their lines to dry. The staff were all lovely and the breakfast was enjoyable. The cuppuchinos were great!!
Review 9:The hotel is at the edge of the village ,( but then it is not a large village ).All the positives of the hotel far outweigh this one negative , it also makes it close to the train station .
Review 10:The hotel is a comfortable villa .The room AC is very good , a necessity in the heat we had (high 80s). The staff were great and all could speak / understand English . There was a superb full breakfast every morning .
Review 11:Breakfast wasn't very good and the rooms are the smallest we had in all of Italy, beds not very comfortable. Could barely get around the bed to get to the door and the keys for the rooms were huge/awkward. Thankful for the elevator outside from the street above but no lift inside the hotel.
Review 12:Nice people, good location
Review 13:The B&B was impeccably clean with friendly, welcoming staff. The outdoor area is a lovely place to enjoy some drinks and watch the sunset over the magical surrounds. We preferred staying in Levanto and catching the train to the 5 Villages as we needed.
Review 14:Disappointed for the room we booked.Location of the apartment is private but it wasn't clean.Dust everywhere.I have to wiped it by myself.Actually I hardly have negative comment but to let the owner know and improve. The 2 bedroom apartment have old furniture and the toilet with no use washing machine .It look like maid's toilet when I stay is remind me the maid's room in my country.
Review 15:Easy to access to train station for visit Cinqueterre, not far from city.Nice owner.Good breakfast and service.
Review 16:nothing
Review 17:clean, well equipped apartment, nice view in the garden, delicious breakfast which is a strong recommendation, nice staff and very value for money
Review 18:Heavy noice at 6 o'clock AM from the dining room upstairs when early group hade their breakfast.
Review 19:Wonderful garden and views, really good breakfast, close to the beach and nice restaurants, own parking. We would love to come back!
Review 20:Villa Margherita was beautiful. The location was great - very easy to get to the beach. All the staff was very helpful! Loved it and would definitely go back!
Review 21:The room was on the small side.
Review 22:This is a charming older villa converted into rooms. Our room (and the rest of the facility that we saw) was very, very clean with a very comfortable bed, sheets that felt good, and very nice towels. Coming from two weeks of travel elsewhere in Italy this was the best and we truly appreciated it! Before our departure, one of the owners went out of her way to arrange for one of two taxi's in town, to transport us to the ferry, luggage and all when a train strike threatened to halt our travel. We discovered she had covered the cost of our taxi. Now that is service!
Review 23:Beware of pickpockets because the small town atmosphere is deceptive (especially at the train station). - Room 1 is very small with limited desk space. - Very small shower stall, a tight squeeze even for a small person. - Limited electric outlets. - Wifi speed is a bit slow. - Could hear traffic noise.
Review 24:This is a small town, one local taxi driver said it has a population of 4,000 and implied that everyone knew each other. - The property is close to the train station and an excellent base for visiting the Cinque Terre and the surrounding areas. - Provided complimentary transfer from and to train station. - Greeted by Nicolo, the son of the owner, who provided good restaurant recommendations. - Has a lift for luggage and staff assisted with luggage transfer. - Has in-room safe. - Excellent breakfast with a wide selection. Eggs, cereal, yoghurt, breads, cakes, and cheeses. Cappuccinos were served with a happy face imprinted in the foam. This undoubtedly reflects Angela’s positive personality. She presides over breakfast and is delightful and solicitous as she bustles about dispensing friendly service. She offered additional cappuccinos if desired and was always pleasant and efficient as she ensured guest satisfaction. • The place is immaculate and pleasant.
Review 25:I have no complaints at all.
Review 26:Everything was excellent from top to bottom. We were pleasantly surprised with every aspect of our stay. Just book it, and enjoy the area.
Review 27:A little hard beds and pillows but it was ok :)
Review 28:This b&b is great. We booked it without knowing anything about it and was pleasently surprised by The charm, location and friendly staff! Book it!
Review 29:The bed was a little stiff, plus the walk to the hotel is a bit more out of the way than other places. It's on a hill above the town.
Review 30:The staff were very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. the room was spacious and very clean. Plus the hotel grounds are just beautiful, nice to sit and enjoy.
Review 31:Check-out is too early, al ready at 10.30. The lady who manages the place at morning does not act friendly.
Review 32:At walking distance from Levanto, with parking available.
Review 33:Nothing....at all
Review 34:The b&b are placed nearby the city of the town and the sea - you can walk without problems walk A very friendly staff, very good cleaning and the possibility to park your car inside the ground Very good breakfast A very calm and relaxed atmosphere Really recommendable
Review 35:The room was really small, but we knew that upfront. Still, we were a bit surprised.
Review 36:The garden looked great (we did not use it as it rained). The staff is quite friendly and all is very clean. Levanto is close to Cinque Terre but not as busy which makes it great for a quiet vacation.
Review 37:Hard beds for our taste, but not too bad.
Review 38:Good breakfast with a lot of choices. Great service, friendly staff, and English was no problem. Perfect with free parking and wifi.
Review 39:Being slightly in the wilderness, you may have to keep an eye out for ants, we had ants just as we were checking out the of the b&b. So didnt really bother us.
Review 40:This Bed and Breakfast is very beautiful. The location is perfect to visit Cinque Terre. We reached the hotel very late at night, but the person who checked us in was very patient and very friendly. Breakfast was included in the stay and quite decent, Standard eggs, cereal, milk, bread, ham, cheese, Nutella, juice. Also WIFI is free in this b&b. The b&b also has free parking, if you wish to drive into Levanto. Some parking spots are just outside the gate, so make sure you don't have any valuables lying around the car. Otherwise our car was safe the whole time. This b&b is walking distance to the train station, from where one can buy a 24 hour pass that allows you unlimited access to the trains between the 5 villages (cinque terre) and also the pass is required if you wish to hike between the villages, the hike trails are quite hardcore so be sure to take a lot of water with you.
Review 41:The shortcut to the hotel from the train station is a flight of steps. It gave us a lot of trouble as we were pulling our luggage along. Easier if we had used backpacks. At night, the route was very dark, a little light along the route will be helpful.
Review 42:Beautiful little hotel with friendly staff and close enough to train station to visit the Cinque Terre. We needed to leave before breakfast time and the staff helped to make sure we have something before departing. Thank you a million for your thoughtfulness.
Review 43:Charming facility. Good location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast selection.
Review 44:located right next to an uphill road, traffic noise was a problem. 80 euros a night for 2 was a little high.
Review 45:breakfast was extremely good.
Review 46:The owner was delightful, the staff very courteous and kind, the property was charming and well kept, the breakfast was generous and delicious.
Review 47:Free upgrade and close to cinque terre.
Review 48:Very private rooms overlooking a patio and the valley. Modern and very clean. Amazing breakfast to top it off!
Review 49:Entry stairs to reach reception with heavy suitcase. Breakfast good but eating space a little cramped.
Review 50:Nice view from my window, sea in the distance.
Review 51:Location, easy walking distance from train station, town & beach Hotel gardens very charming Lovely breakfast Made to feel very welcome
Review 52:A little difficult to find, but worth finding!
Review 53:Beautiful! Peaceful and relaxing place to stay after crowded and chaos of visiting Florence.
Review 54:It was a really nice place, super clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast . I would go back for sure and recommend this place.
Review 55:Lovely property and gardens, very clean, lovely staff and great breakfast. Wished we had stayed longer.
Review 56:nice garden
Review 57:Shower unit could be a bit larger
Review 58:Gardens, setting, breakfast very good, very clean, pleasant staff, helpful, short walk to town
Review 59:Somewhat slow Wifi.
Review 60:The friendly atmosphere in the hotel.
Review 61:Great staff
Review 62:Room hot. Bed very hard and uncomfortable.
Review 63:Indoor parking, breakfast.
Review 64:Brakefast can be more interesting. We like to have Coffee / Tea in the room.
Review 65:Location, Location, Location. Staff, parking place, wi-fi.
Review 66:Location was great ...breakfast good..staff vet nice...mostly Angelina at breakfast
Review 67:The place and staff was superb.
Review 68:Beds are getting old.
Review 69:Excellent staff. Federico was very helpful. Parking was available. Good recommendations about how and where to go.
Review 70:Tasty breakfast, very clean, close to the center and to the beach, validator to the parking
Review 71:The room was very small.
Review 72:Beautiful gardens surrounding the property. Very friendly staff. The bathroom was well fitted.
Review 73:Small cramped and outdated rooms. Not particularly comfortable
Review 74:Location
Review 75:Our rooms were spacious, the bathrooms especially, and opened on to a terrace from which we looked down in privacy to Levanto which is an ideal centre for the cinque terre. The staff were so helpful and friendly.Lots of steps but there is a lift.Parking was very useful and collection from train station.
Review 76:Location was perfect for exploring the Cinque Terre villages. The rooms and hospitality were at a very high standard. Beautiful garden to relax in within a tranquil setting. Very highly recommended
Review 77:Our room was rather small with restricted space for the luggage. A little detail but with some importance for Italy: The capuccino was not of the quality we were used to, and the same is true for the breakfast in general. The price level, compared to the value you get, was at the upper edge.
Review 78:The place can be easily reached by foot from the centre of Levanto. The villa has a nice garden and a very modern elevator for the luggage.
Review 79:Our room had no windows, only the door glass which needed to be curtained for privacy.
Review 80:Great breakfast. The staff was wonderful, both friendly and informative. Beautiful tile work in our room. Free parking is a big plus.
Review 81:Really charming inn with beautiful views in a garden setting. Enjoyed our two night stay as a base for exploring Cinque Terre. Clean, comfortable rooms, accommodating staff, hearty breakfast and parking for our rental car. Highly recommended!
Review 82:Traffic noise in front room, but we did have nice balcony. A lot of steps, but you are in the hills if Italy
Review 83:Staff very nice. Breakfast good with enough variety. Staff did extra to make our stay more enjoyable
Review 84:Villa Margherita was a very convenient spot to stay (with a car) to visit the Cinque Terre. The staff and hotel were lovely. Close to station for daytripping to CT towns.
Review 85:Breakfast - really not quite good enough, and we were surprised that some of the food offered e.g. Fruit Yoghurt, were made in Germany.
Review 86:Great position, lovely shady garden, helpful friendly staff - everything perfect except.........
Review 87:This hotel is overpriced. For what we paid, we expected more amenities or luxury. Its a nice hotel in a great location, but doesn't meet the price tag. I would definitely stay again, but not at the resort price.
Review 88:Great location very close to the beach and within walking distance to the train station. Beautiful grounds and friendly staff.
Review 89:Nothing really. The entrance is located on the corner of street, so a bit of care needed when stepping out. Don't think you could do better for the money.
Review 90:Last minute booking, so didn't know what to expect. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised. Very picturesque little hotel, large room with modern bathroom and view of the town. Breakfast was really good and you could also sit on the terrace. Staff very helpful and the hotel also has secure parking. Short walk to both the town and the train station. No problem in recommending this hotel.
Review 91:This was the best place we stayed at in Italy. Lovely room big bathroom helpful staff great garden. The taxis from station Is included in price. Loved it
Review 92:We had to get used to the steep walk up the hill to the B & B and then walk upstairs to the hotel and room.
Review 93:Location. Away from Cinque Terre but close enough to enjoy it! Access to beach is good.
Review 94:We had a wonderful three night stay in Villa Margherita. It is run by the owners and they were extremely helpful and accommodating. Its location is about a three minute walk from the centre of Lavento.
Review 95:We had an very early morning check-out as had to catch an early flight. Breakfast was somewhat of a let down considering the nightly rate.
Review 96:The Villa is beautifully maintained and the location is very convenient given the close proximity to trains to reach Cinque Terre. Staff very helpful in giving advice on where to go, what to see and where to eat.
Review 97:Quite a comfortable stay at this villa. The room was quite tiny but these are very old buildings. The bathroom was quite modern. Staff were helpful.
Review 98:The hotel has many people who work there so it feels not like a cosybed&breakfast. A private parking garage exists but owners expect youto give them your car keys to move the car around in case of someunexpected circumstances. We thought that is very odd and unsecure. Ourroom, no. 1, was very small and not worth 170 Euro a night. Since manytourists are always around to visit Cinque Terre, the region can callout almost any price and there will be somebody found who is willing topay. Unfortunately. The breakfast was very simple and the coffee did nottaste at all, even though it is Italy.
Review 99:Location close to train station, restaurants and the sea.
Review 100:The staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful. Levanto is abeautiful town and the hotel is only a few hundred meters from thecentre of town. I can see why it has been described as the best placeto stay in Levanto.
Review 101:Beautiful on-site gardens. The so-called "small double room" we stayed in for 65 euros was an amazing value: sea view, antique furniture, en suite bathroom, and fairly standard-sized room. Breakfast was great.
Review 102:Location on narrow road and initial stopping could be an issue. (Locked gate parking up and around corner inside property)
Review 103:Excellent location at Levanto (one train station from 5 terre). We found it really nice and less 'touristy' than Monorosso. Beautiful interior and gardens. Recently renovated. Good management and staff. Parking available.
Review 104:Lovely charecterful Villa with delightful gardens. Great for exploring cinque terre, nice quiet location with restaurants and bars five minutes walk. Would not hesitate to recommend!
Review 105:Nothing to dislike
Review 106:Very relaxed environment. Very helpful when we asked for wine bottle opener and a knife to eat some supper. Glasses and plates were provided which was very nice.
Review 107:The desk staff are perfectly helpful but not outgoing. The bed is very "firm." And the pillows flat. The satellite Tv has no English channels.
Review 108:Charming facility and location. Quick walk to beach, town, and trains to Conquer Terra. Cozy room and generous continental style breakfast.
Review 109:This unique hotel was recently renovated and was just lovely. The rooms were each tastefully decorated to accent the colorful and intricate tile floors. The bathrooms were very clean, well-lit, and spacious. The mature, well-manicured, terraced gardens contained lemon trees, hydrangeas, oleander, ice plant and, of course, margerita flowers below the shade of several large palms and olive trees. The garden also offered several areas to tuck yourself away in sun or shade to read, nap, visit with friends, or just sunbathe. Breakfast was delicious, and of course, the coffee was amazing! The staff were so kind, pleasant, and helpful that we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. They attended to every need and made our stay even more pleasurable. I would definitely return to Levanto and stay in this hotel again.
Review 110:The breakfast room was a little cramped for space.
Review 111:The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful. The grounds are lovely, even though the weather wasn't.
Review 112:We stayed at Villa Margherita for the location to the Cinque Terre. Hotel has amazing views, beautiful gardens, great breakfast, and friendly staff. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel as a great place to stay when visiting the area.
Review 113:We booked the small room, knowing that it would be small (which it was). It was very clean and the bathroom was a reasonable size and also spotless, but if we are speaking honestly, we would have to say, value for money, the place we had stayed at up the hill in Levanto for 3 nights previously was better value for money. It was 5€ cheaper a night, with a big room and more facilities. However, the staff were friendlier here and most accommodating.
Review 114:There is no denying the pride, care and effort that goes towards the running and maintenance of this hotel. The grounds, the building itself and the room are all beautifully kept. We travelled from close by to Villa Margharita and we were very kindly allowed to park our car in the hotel earlier than the check in time, so that we could catch the train to Cinque Terra region. Breakfast was very nice and served in a lovely dining area. The free, secure parking was most appreciated.
Review 115:The stairs may be a problem for heavy suitcase. The wi-fi was not working properly all the time.
Review 116:The location was very convenient. Good base for cinque terre. Our host recommended a couple of local restaurants, that turned out to be amazing.
Review 117:For the price we paid - nothing!
Review 118:The villa was clean, spacious and we had a gorgeous private outside area. Easy access in to the centre and a great place to stay when visiting Cinque Terre. Only downfall about our stay was the weather which shortened our visit into Cinque Terre so will be definately returning in the summer.
Review 119:Although ok for us, some may find the walk from the hotel to town a bit risky as the street is narrow and busy and there are no walkways.
Review 120:Room was relatively large and very clean. Easy access to the town and train station. Breakfast was good.
Review 121:Comfortable room, lovely view and balcony. Good variety at breakfast. Pleasant garden. Very helpful staff. Offered us a free shuttle transfer to the train station when we checked out - unexpected and most welcome - grazie! :)
