Reviews for The Ashe Hotel
Review 1:The staff were the friendliest staff I have meet in a hotel in a hell of a long time. I would highly recommend staying there. It was a great location and everything was clean and the room was very nice.
Review 2:Boring noisy and dull.
Review 3:This Hotel was originally the abbeygate and has had a few changes over recent years but still doesnt do it for me,bar food was great but then we had desert which was terrible, hotel is located in a dull dingy seedy part of tralee and the usual guests of screeming drunks still seem to use ,decor is all new but dull .There is far superior hotels in the town center and cost a lot less. NEVER AGAIN.
Review 4:The corridor at night was rather noisy with a hen party or similar up and down. Old fashion key on block for door instead of a modern credit card style key.
Review 5:Amazing breakfast! Best hashbrowns ever. While I prefer a separate shower rather than over bath shower I was impressed that it had a glass door rather than a shower curtain. Lovely big bed and easy to control dual pump aircon/heater
Review 6:The lobby was decorated beautifully the reception and bar staff were fabulous the bed was very comfortable the food wasnt top notch but it was nice (dinner) and we were delighted there was live music
Review 7:Room was hard to heat up on the 1st night.
Review 8:Décor was fresh and modern. Room was hard to heat up on the 1st night, but staff were understanding when we mentioned it when leaving and gave a discount
Review 9:A few hiccups in this very new property: one hook in the entire bathroom, had to phone reception to get the heat turned on, when I asked for help with my luggage I was told they could phone housekeeping and send someone up. I didn't quite understand that. But, they're still working out kinks and on the whole it's lovely and comfortable with a great location.
Review 10:Modern, comfortable rooms and a great location at an unbeatable price. Friendly staff.
Review 11:One issue I had was with the heating we arrived in the afternoon and later that day the room got quite chilly as the hating is on time. But as soon as I asked reception they put it on for us immediately without any issue
Review 12:The staff were so friendly they really made our stay. The hotel itself was in a perfect location in the heart of the town. We had dinner there and lunch and the food was also very good and reasonably priced I would have no problem recommending it to anyone :)
Review 13:Fantastic place to stay. The Decor and interior design is fab.food in bar bar was very reasonable with daily early bird specials. Staff more than helpful and friendly. Would stay here again.
Review 14:Very good hotel - staff great - extremely helpful and friendly. Good sized rooms. right in the middle of Tralee but quiet. Good breakfast - even had a gluten free section.
Review 15:The staff were the friendliest hotel staff i have ever met. We eat lunch in the hotel before check-in and it was very nice and breakfast the next morning was also very good too. I really cant understand how this hotel is only a 3* unbelievable. great value for money.
Review 16:Nicest room decor of a hotel I have stayed in. Good wifi throughout. Lovely bar with great ambiance for a chat with other business people. Really friendly staff. Kevin the manger is the nicest guy you will encounter. I will surely make it my mission to visit again when I'm in the area.
Review 17:A very warm greeting from all staff. Even the chamber mate was friendly. The location is excellent based just off the main street. The hotel has a really homely feel to it. The rooms are modern, well equipped(free Wifi) and very clean. There was an excellent choice for breakfast with a full Irish also thrown in. This is a hotel performing at the highest level of customer service and others could learn from how it.
Review 18:The bed must be memory foam and it got too hot to sleep at night.
Review 19:The staff are really great and so helpful. We arrived at 9.30 in the evening and they made us something to eat even though the kitchen was closed. Everyone we was so friendly and it was nice to get a cooked breakfast.
Review 20:Breakfast Service wasn't up to standard. Was waiting ages for the menu made several attempts to attract the staff but fail to make contact. Thought it would have worked better if you were escorted to your table asked if you would like Tea/Coffee. Just thought it could be improved because the rest of the hotel is excellent.
Review 21:Rooms were lovely and food just excellent
Review 22:No fan in bathroom made the mirror in it useless after a shower
Review 23:Excellent location just 3mins walk from town center. Newly refurbished. Staff very friendly and helpful especially Sarah who works both bar and breakfast service
Review 24:Cannot find anything I didn't like.
Review 25:Staff did not put us under pressure to vacate room on time. The porters service and standards should be recognised, he walked around with other residents to find parking spaces and then helped with both bags and children back to the hotel, well done guys. The breakfast was superb, everything you could possibly want to set you up for a day of walking (the shops or sightseeing)
Review 26:Loved the helpfulness of the staff. We didn't eat dinner there but friends of ours did and said it was amazing. My favourite part was the breakfast buffet all you could want. Also the rooms were so new and so clean
Review 27:Nothing to complain about.
Review 28:Staff are consistently excellent. Request for a quiet room is always respected. Omelette for breakfast is a great way to stay the day! Walking distance to the town centre.
Review 29:Everything excellent
Review 30:Staff very friendly and genuinely helpful. Food excellent and accommodation very spacious and comfortable. Very friendly and accommodating night staff especially operating the late bar service until 3.00am. Very good rates. Really enjoyed our stay.
Review 31:Really enjoyed my stay at the Ash. The staff were very friendly and nice. The room was clean and a nice size. The location is perfect as it is central to the town. Would highly recommend.
Review 32:Internet access spotty in our room. Most likely because the room was on an outer corner of the hotel
Review 33:Comfortable, big and clean rooms with nice simple decor
Review 34:Don't want to complain but breakfast finishing at 10 is too early. I missed it!
Review 35:I called ahead to say I would be checking in after midnight. When I arrived the staff knew who I was and greeted me by name. I was famished and withing 10 minutes of checking in a lovely sandwich was delivered to my room for a bargain price.
Review 36:No bad experience
Review 37:Reception staff were excellent , very warm welcome and very helpful finding a car space . Restaurant staff were extremely friendly nothing was a problem felt very at home
Review 38:The beds are superb and the carpet feels like walking on clouds. ;D The Yorkshire pudding is recommendable and the breakfast was also very fresh and tasty.
Review 39:Parking could be a problem and finding it by car on arrival as its kind of tucked away
Review 40:Central location close to shops but quiet. Newly refurbished to high standard. Bedrooms very comfortable. Staff warm and welcomig
Review 41:Very impressed for price. Have stayed in equal rated hotels that have not been nearly as good. Very helpful and friendly interested staff welcoming you on arrival really leave a great impression. Excellent breakfast and affordable dinner.

Review 45:The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We had something to eat, the evening of our stay and the food in the bar was lovely. Also the breakfast was lovely, I loved the fact that the hot breakfast was served to you at the table.
Review 46:Hard to fault this hotel. If they could add a gym in it would be great.
Review 47:This hotel wiped the floor with the likes of Fota & Maryborough Cork for customer service, food etc., The simple touches that didn't cost the hotel anything pays dividends in the end! Well done Ashe...
Review 48:Everything was fine but the parking spots were different with spaces separated by pipes coming up from the street. In the end it worked out okay when you got used to it.
Review 49:Everything about the hotel was nice. Could not ask for anything better with the staff, bedrooms, bathrooms, wifi, breakfast and dinner all being very good. No complaints. Would stay there again if in the area.
Review 50:Nothing
Review 51:Arrive very early due to extremely bad weather just to enquire if it was ok to park at the hotel whilst going shoping in the rain but they said I could have one of the rooms already cleaned. It was only 11am .
Review 52:Brand new hotel with very friendly staff and the best comfortable beds in Ireland at the moment we have ever experienced, so the good night sleep is guaranteed.
Review 53:I was on a business trip. The WiFi was the best I've experienced in a hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 54:coaches loading up in the morning is a bit noisy if you are at the front of the hotel.
Review 55:Good location, fish and chips at the bar very good, over all very good hotel for the price in the center of Tralee.
Review 56:The noise from outside the room , comes inside as if there is no door or windows.
Review 57:The staff are very friendly , and the hotel's decor is really beautiful.
Review 58:A little expensive but it was the week of the festival so it was to be expected.
Review 59:Location and the staff. From the manager right through to the duty manager on the night shift, very pleasant and helpful and as it was the festival week despite being busy they were very accommodating.
Review 60:Our room faced onto the street and we were kept awake most of the night by drunken arguments outside. We had asked specifically for a quiet room. The standard of coffee at breakfast was poor though the food was good otherwise
Review 61:Pleasant decor ... Newly redecorated in modern style . Staff friendly and helpful . Hotel in good position for the town centre.
Review 62:nothing not to like
Review 63:Good central location, helpful staff, lovely room with very comfortable beds, super bathroom with great shower, good choice at breakfast cheerfully served.

Restaurant food was excellent and not very expensive , breakfast was just perfect, Overall this hotel is one of the best in Kerry. I would go so far as saying this hotel is 5 star.
Review 69:The cost for two nights was quiet high. To Expensive for me to be able to stay again & there was lots of noise &avert loud music as our room was almost directly over the front door. Maybe this was only because it was the weekend of the rose of Tralee !!
Review 70:The bedroom was spacious & the bed was very comfy especially the pillows. The food was very good. The breakfast was second to none & when I asked for the coffee freshly ground I got it in a fine big cup with saucer. I felt very important
Review 71:Room was very spacious and clean and the bed was so comfortable. Top class. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quick check in and out. Would come again.
Review 72:I had a great stay and hope to have a return visit.
Review 73:Very welcoming management and staff. My daughter was modelling in the rose of Tralee and they asked her how she got on and they were genuinely interested in her.
Review 74:We were told before booking that parking was 3eur for 24 hours in the nearby multistorey however it came to over 30eur. I think that customers should be made aware of the actual charge
Review 75:Beds, overall ambience.
Review 76:There was no soap in the bathroom, no fridge in the room, no tissue box, and the hair dryer doesnt reach the mirror.
Review 77:Super fast service ! And fast wifi
Review 78:Only downside - breakfast on second morning of our stay was not as piping hot as it had been on the previous morning but having said that it was very busy due to it being festival weekend.
Review 79:Perfect location, a stones throw from the centre of town. Staff very friendly and pleasant. Enjoyable stay.
Review 80:We stayed in the front of the hotel and The noise of taxis pulling up and people talking loudly all through the nigh, but that was the rose of Tralee festival weekend so extra busy. Probably a lot quieter normally. We did have the window open though because it was a warm night
Review 81:Staff very polite, friendly and helpful. Food is scrumpteous in the bar and very reasonable. Rooms immaculate and very comfortable.
Review 82:Room was too hot with no way to cool it down. Hairdryer was not near the mirror.
Review 83:Lovely, refurbished hotel, central to facilities. Very friendly staff.
Review 84:Staff very friendly and helpful when trying to get ready for a webbing we were attending. The rooms were very nice and pleasant to stay in. Would stay again if in Tralee again
Review 85:What a gem of a Hotel!! Staff excellent, rooms spotless. Little things like a Double room that has two seats in it so both of you can sit down. We had a motorbike and they offered me to put it in the lock up yard at the back for safety.
Review 86:Having to leave without the opportunity to visit more of the beautiful places Kerry has to offer
Review 87:Clean and welcoming with very friendly staff. The room was spacious and fully met all our needs.
Review 88:Liked everything about the hotel and restaurant. It is right in the centre of town which is great. The staff were very friendly and help full when asked questions. Would deffunitly stay there again and would recamend it to family and friends. Thank you for making my stay an enjoyable one.
Review 89:Small thing - Would have liked choice of breads at breakfast like pastries, croissants or homemade bread - only loaf slices available - pity!!
Review 90:Everything - location, comfort, cleanliness, food, efficiency of staff, the welcome....
Review 91:Breakfast was a little scarce with no pastries on our second morning, also other bits and pieces not being kept stocked up. Just a small thing but easy to fix. Overall I would return to stay without hesitation.
Review 92:Very clean, friendly staff and central location.
Review 93:Rooms got a bit stuffy also restaurant was quite small so hard to get a seat
Review 94:Room was very spacious and extremely clean. Staff were so welcoming and willing to help in any way.
Review 95:trying to get out of parking space on a busy road was a bit of a nightmare.
Review 96:the friendliness of the staff who could not do enough for us.Our bedroom was top class.
Review 97:Parking was difficult. I had to pull up outside and get the receptionist to open a parking bay for me. The bay was quite small and I had to park partially on the path.
Review 98:The decor was beautiful. Staff were friendly. The room was very comfortable.
Review 99:Myself and my partner spent 3 nights here recently and cannot recommend it highly enough, the rooms were lovely airy and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect just a 2 min walk to the middle of Tralee town. Breakfast included in the price which was very competitive. Bar is a little quiet at nights but that is not necessarily a bad thing, nice to relax with a drink after a long day and be able to have a conversation.
Review 100:room had door to adjoining room. Children in room next door and it was as if they were in room with us. Got very little sleep as they were talking and phones going all night. Only problem in otherwise lovely hotel.
Review 101:Lovely new hotel. Nice staff.
Review 102:Decor,cleaniness, staff appearance and attitute.Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.Has on site parking which was important. Food quality presentation whetted my appetite.
Review 103:I would like to see a double bed in every room. where there is a twin room one bed should be double. I had a twin and both beds were single.
Review 104:the friendly staff. location of the hotel. homely feeling about the staff and hotel
Review 105:We received a parking ticket despite not parking yellow lines and not near bollards. We were not advised to park elsewhere despite having asked about parking. We had just gone inside to register when apparently a parking ticket was placed on our car.Guests need to be advised re parking on registration.Staff were nice.breakfast was basic.Give advise re parking on registration and ask that guests to park in hotel spaces only, otherwise arrange for adjacent parking.
Review 106:Hotel was nice but when asked about parking ,we were not informed that parking off the yellow lines was subject a parking infringement ticket.
Review 107:I shouldn't complain because everything was good but if the hairdryer had reached the mirror it would have been very handy

Review 110:The room was like a 4 to 5 star rating couldn't fault it

Review 112:doors opening and closing loudly in other rooms woke me quite often. Doors could be adjusted to be less noisy when used - even some foam strips on the door frames would help.
Review 113:Easy to get to, newly refurbished room, very modern and comfortable furniture, friendly staff
Review 114:Music in dining room at breakfast was very loud. Also there was 3 of us and 2 rooms. The single person had to pay double for the room and an extra €10.
Review 115:Decor, cleanliness, looks very modern
Review 116:Bar prices were on the expensive side Guinness at eur8+ a pint is nearly twice the norm.
Review 117:Staff were great - really helpful and gave us an extra room as we had two kids with us. Place was spotlessly clean and well decorated.
Review 118:Hotel is in a great location and very friendly staff. Great breakfast and everything is new and in good condition. They do not have air conditioning, which is common in Ireland, and use physical keys which are a little bulky to carry around, but overall, wonderful place and the staff was beyond helpful and nice.
Review 119:Bar was small, hairdryer didn't stretch to the mirror, would have liked brown soda bread at breakfast, not the end of the world though
Review 120:This is just a beautiful hotel, can't wait to go back, just a stroll from the main street, staff very friendly, hotel immaculate,,breakfast was delicious, good choice, music in the bar was good.
Review 121:Needed computer station for customers who were without a mobile device.Room telephone kept failing with in-coming long distance calls. Front desk not good at getting a taxi to front door on time. I had to ask 3 times over 1/2 hour to get them to check on it. Almost missed my train.
Review 122:Clean and comfortable room. Terrific location. Good quality breakfast.
Review 123:No shampoo or shower gel - fortunately I had my own, so it didn't bother me!
Review 124:I appreciated the warm welcome, good food, cleanliness and 'brand new' ambiance! All staff were professional and friendly and I liked the contemporary décor too.
