Reviews for Minoa Palace Resort & Spa
Review 1:the weather not good we did not manage to used the swimming pool and the beach.
Review 2:the fasilities it is very good and the personEl its okey. we plan to come back. but not in october..
Review 3:We wished we were a little bit closer to Chania. We were very surprised to be charged an additional fee for day use of the spa only to find out that our use was restricted to one half hour only. Also, hot tub was lukewarm, so certainly not worth the extra fee!!
Review 4:We loved the facility and the sumptuous breakfast buffet. The beach beds were fantastic. We loved the welcome bottle of wine, fruit baskets and nightly chocolates.
Review 5:Room no 609 not a particularly good view and smaller than 608 (next door)
Review 6:Great location, on the edge of Platanias. Lovely pool and beach areas - no problems getting sunbeds. Well equipped gym and well priced spa.
Review 7:- Restaurants closed quite early for Greek standards (9:30 pm) - Only the main bar stays open until late - Very oriented toward northern European clientele
Review 8:- Nice beach and pool area, which is well serviced - Good food at the restaurants - Friendly staff
Review 9:The hotel is fantastic and I didn't have a single complaint and absolutely loved it. The two pools are beautiful and well sized, with plenty of sunbeds and shade. On top of the ample sunbeds and shade on the beach. The hotel also runs and enforces a no sunbed reservation rule, which means you don't have to get up at 6am to get a sunbed. The staff are absolutely fantastic, friendly and have a wonderful eye for detail. The food was also brilliant, the breakfasts are plentiful and the food quality excellent. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was equal (if not better) than any of the restaurants in the area. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and you won't be disappointed if you stay here, the hotel is wonderful.
Review 10:The Corali restaurant could be just a bit more organized in service and selective in their Greek cuisine.
Review 11:Amazing gastronomy night with guest chef. Super happy with the upgrade to an imperial suite with private pool. Very pleasant and fresh style hotel.
Review 12:Beautiful surroundings. Professional staff. All staff very helpful indeed. Having many food allergies I thought would make my food choices very difficult. The staff were more than accomodating for which I am extremely grateful.
Review 13:Didn't see a step in the corridor at night and fell - oops! Big mistake - broke my wrist.
Review 14:We stayed 3 nights. Beautiful and comfortable resort. Great spa and enjoyed the cooking class.
Review 15:We've travelled a lot, but the view from our balcony of the White Mountains was spectacular. And the hotel was superbly managed, with brilliant, friendly, professional and efficient staff.
Review 16:There is nothing that I didn't like!
Review 17:The staff was exceptional! I had a minor injury while vacationing, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The hotel was very clean and quite beautiful.
Review 18:We have booked a room with sea view (Imperial Room with Sea View). At the arrival they gave us a room from which we can see a parking lot and a pool corner. After one hour of arguing, they gave us a room with sea view. Obviously, they tried to trick us. Their definition of "sea view" is quite odd: between the room and the sea there is a large pool, a restaurant and a bar and the beach with umbrellas. All you can see is just a tiny fraction of the sea. And the building is not high enough - just 2 floors. The mini bar is indeed mini: a coke, 2 beers, still water and a chocolate bar.
Review 19:Good location (15 min. drive to Chania), nice restaurants with a good food choice, nice beach ( a plus: is not allowed to reserve the sunbed & umbrella, so there were sunbeds all the time). The room although not so large is well fitted and clean.
Review 20:Nothing about the resort itself, however platanias has lost its sense of Greek culture. Caters for tourists only. Pizza, burgers etc. there is a bus that is cheap that takes you to Chania where the food is amazing
Review 21:The location, pools, beach, the staff were all excellent. It is an amazing resort, all you could want. Great breakfast, excellent pool facilities, and great beach location.neasy bus to Chania.
Review 22:Nothing.
Review 23:Basically everything, from the location, the quality standards of the room decoration and cleanliness, the food was delicious, the service was perfect, fast and courteous. Special thanks to Stefania (reception) for making every arrangement we needed in a swiftly manner. Also to Melina (pool bar) Elias and Maria (buffet) for being super kind and friendly every time we were served.
Review 24:Private pool was very cold as no sun facing it.
Review 25:Lovely bars and restaurants. Great location. Very clean hotel and room checked twice a day.
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:The a la carte restaurant ,was beautifully positioned with excellent food
Review 28:That we didn't get to stay longer!
Review 29:Grounds and rooms very clean. Staff extremely polite and professional.
Review 30:We changed room because of the noise.
Review 31:Nice pool and renovated rooms.Very helpfull staff ..
Review 32:Excellent staff : Katrina, George and stefania and restsurant staff.
Review 33:Room overlooking sea and pool. High standard of cleanliness.
Review 34:Breakfast wasn't as for five star hotel. Such a small food choice.
Review 35:Cleanliness perfect Thank you
Review 36:staff, food location
Review 37:Reception is very far away from the room. Hotel seperated by thé road. A bridge is used btwn.
Review 38:Beach front location. .
Review 39:Gym facility could be better, room wasn't cleaned particularly well.
Review 40:Great breakfast. Resturaunt was excellent.
Review 41:Small tv. Part of the staff not really helpful and friendly.
Review 42:Private pool. Very nice room. Peaceful.
Review 43:A little too far from old town.
Review 44:Facilities, staff, cleanliness outstanding. Great for couples & families.
Review 45:Our only complaint was having requested a late departure at time of booking the hotel 2 months prior to our trip, [and again on arrival and on another occasion during our 1 week stay] - my sister and I were taking our frail elderly [ 80 year old] father on holiday whom we were aware needed rest and access to the cool temperature of a bedroom during the day- the hotel manager refused to confirm whether this was going to be possible until the morning of our departure despite the additional charge of 50 euros requested for late check out, and despite the fact that we were having to bring our father home to the UK one week early due to a sudden deterioration in his health that the hotel were fully informed of. We then had to move our father over to the other mountainside part of the hotel to a rather seedy room above reception for our last 4 hours as the manager claimed that every room in the beach side building was going to be occupied by 4 pm on our departure date which was not evident to us. Not what one would expect from a hotel of this calibre.
Review 46:Great location at beach side with view of pool and the sea and overall standards of our room and communal and pool areas were very also high Majority of staff very accomodating and helpful especially in beach side restaurant and room cleaning staff charming Food in general of very high quality
Review 47:Prices in beach bar too expensive. The two hotels feel very disconnected. We stayed in the newer part, imperial wing which is beautiful but there was a reception area which was completely closed up. It felt like it was half open.
Review 48:Beautiful hotel on beach. Very modern . Rooms very comfortable. Standard of food very good. Beautiful swimming pools
Review 49:There wasn't enough to do outside of the hotel for me as I am not a sunbather. The excursion to Samaria, a 13 kilometre walk down a mountain was very dangerous by uk health and safety standards. The terminology used by the receptionist "a walk through a mountain" was incorrect and didn't portray the facts.
Review 50:It is a very comfortable hotel and the staff were extremely helpful
Review 51:Beaware of hidden charges! We booked for 2 adults and a 5 year old child and then when we arrived we were informed that we had to pay extra for the child 36 EUROS per day.
Review 52:Staff were friendly and the hotel clean and very nice.
Review 53:Lacked atmosphere in bar & evening restaurant so therefore drank/ate out every night which was OK but spending some more relaxation time in the main part of the hotel in the evenings would have been welcomed.
Review 54:Private pool, proximity of main pool, breakfast restaurant and beach to room. Many eating & drinking places within a short walk.
Review 55:Poor water pressure in the showers. Please advise guests there is quite a high end dress code for this venue. Some rooms are too near the noisy road
Review 56:Luxurious hotel, huge pools, wonderful variety of cuisine, complimentary towels, shaded parking
Review 57:Having to pay extra for some of the spa facilities and book them as well. The Corali restaurant on the beach did not provide for non smokers on the night we visited.
Review 58:Every member of the staff was pleased to assist in any way they could. The cooking demonstration by the executive chef was excellent.
Review 59:Front desk staff was rude except for one polite lady on my last day who was so nice to help me with my request. She was the only person who was fast' polite and helpful. The front desk staff does not belong in a five star hotel
Review 60:Location, beach bar staff was the best, near shops and restaurants. Water sports were near and there was a lot to do!!!! Best cocktails in the town prepared by the beach bar staff!!!! Breakfast was very good with a large variety
Review 61:Sound proofing in the rooms was poor, could hear everything next door and outside. drinks were slightly expensive.
Review 62:Nice big rooms, clean hotel, food was very good, location good, Staff very nice and helpful, pool areas were excellent, no saving of sunloungers so plenty for everyone.
Review 63:The quality of the main restaurant was way below the standards of this hotel but this is a minor remark compared to the general impression.
Review 64:Everything is beyond any expectation! The personnel is warm, friendly and always there to assist, with a smile. Warm and relaxing environment and decoration. Sandy beach.
Review 65:Great staff , amazing views look forward to going back.
Review 66:Great service
