Reviews for Casa Andina Private Collection Cusco

Review 1:Expensive, you can get slightly more convenient location and more modern rooms for a cheaper price. Room wifi is not free and other hotels will get you that for free.

Review 2:Stayed for 4 nights before moving to another hotel. Most of the staff are very friendly and well trained. Design of rooms. Food.

Review 3:-As on 12/24/2015, they still claim to have "Airport shuttle (free)" on the booking website, which is not true as we landed on Cusco. The personal at the airport refuse to offer shuttle services at first, stating that anyone booked via Booking is not eligible for the free service. After we start to complain to the customer service of booking.com, that personal made two phone calls, and magically we get in the shuttle.-When we booked at booking.com, we booked two twin room with two beds and one double room with one king bed. When we checked in, the front desk said the picture in the room description is wrong and there is no king bed room available for us. He also suggested that we should not trust the image and description on booking.com as they did not represent the actual room we will be received. Yeah, I guessed we already learnt our lessons by now with the "free" airport shuttle.-The front desk stuff is friendly, but not helpful at all. We were trying to stay one more night due to the change of our plan, but it was a nightmare as we go back and forth between front desk and concierge desk, as they both claim other should take care of us. When we actually found the right person to talk the day before we original checkout date, they claimed to get back to us that night. A whole day, three more calls, and two trips to the front desk later, they finally said we are ok to stay one more night, but with a raised price. At this point, we were simply too tired to argue anything. But there is one more twist before we could relax, they want to re-do the pre authorization for each room, which is way completed than it should be and took forever.-It was my friend's birthday and we brought champagne and b-day cake from store to celebrate at the court yard. We left the cake at hotel's refrigerator, which went missing when we back after dinner. After half hour of looking through every corner, they finally found our cake.

Review 4:-Location is great, nothing to complain about this point. -Breakfast offers decent options.

Review 5:The hotel could use some refurbishing. A luxury hotel should not charge $3.00 for a bottle of water needed for brushing teeth. It should be included in the cost of the room.

Review 6:We found the staff very helpful.

Review 7:This hotel was in a great location and just a short walk to restaurants or sights. The staff was extremely professional, helpful, and attentive to every need. The facilities were kept impeccable and the included breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend !!

Review 8:We had booked a Suite and were a bit disappointed that the room did not have windows. Besides when we arrived we were charged with100 US dollars, which we found very unusual. When we checked out they simy forgot to set off the amount because there was no remark in the system.

Review 9:Beautiful Hotel in perfect location. the hotel is clean and breakfast buffet fantastic.

Review 10:Nothing at all

Review 11:I liked everything about the hotel. Old with many modern touches. Very clean, grounds are beautiful and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was very good!!

Review 12:Wi-fi is a pain, the have some weird system that gives you only 4 free hours and when you connect a second device the first gets disconected The attention is kind of impersonal, some of the personel are rude

Review 13:Excelent breakfast, nice location and very good rooms

Review 14:When people walked by outside the room talking, it sounded like they were in our room.

Review 15:Great location, price, pretty courtyards, great breakfast, friendly staff

Review 16:The walls are so thin that you can hear everything making it difficult to sleep. This is especially bad, when people are bringing their suitcases down the stairs and you hear loud thumps at 4 am!

Review 17:The breakfast was great. Check in process was easy.

Review 18:1st floor is dark and gloomy with no windows to the outside, only onto the courtyard. If you're in a corner there is no light coming in.

Review 19:Very helpful staff, they moved us from 1st floor which was gloomy, to the second floor.

Review 20:As usual, bottled water and minibar items overpriced. A lot of noise from room above, just from normal walking around. But we complained to the desk and it stopped (!). Don't know if they made the people move or what. Only one window that opened to the passageway, so a bit dark and stuffy.

Review 21:In a Spanish colonial building. We had a room with a comfortable separate sitting area, an open courtyard just outside. Walk to everything in 10 minutes or less. Nice breakfast with lots of choices, attentive waiters. Competent front desk staff.

Review 22:Heat in the room was terrible and didn't work they needed to put a mini heater in my room. Cusco is cold so that's a problem. Bathrooms although functional could use updating. On this trip I also stayed at the Casa Andina in the Sacred Valley. I recommend that Casa Andina above this one any day. It was my favorite place we stayed and the food and service were fantastic there. Relaxing retreat type feel. If I came back I'd just go straight there and take a day trip to Cusco. That being said neither property had good wifi. I think the Casa Andina brand needs to make it a top priority to upgrade their wifi. Every other hotel I stayed in had great wifi service.

Review 23:The beds are amazing! Extra large- bigger than a king and comfortable with nice warm bedding. Location is good close to main square and restaurants. Style is nice and simply Peruvian.

Review 24:It took 30-45 mins. to check in. They did not receive an email from booking.com about our confirmed reservation. Lucky I had a confirmed email but could not hook up to wifi to send to them. They could view all the info. on my phone, but they needed a copy. We finally hooked up to printer & was able to give them printed version.

Review 25:Beds were comfortable & has old world charm.

Review 26:The breakfast staff did not even ask if we wanted coffee!

Review 27:We barely had a few hours to sleep before we caught our flight the next day. They checked us in promptly, got the bags to our room, gave us a timely wake up call. They also arranged a taxi to pick us up early in the morning. The room was also large and spacious

Review 28:Waited 45 minutes for room service menu to be delivered then we gave up and went out for dinner. My Brother ordered a suite as well as us, his was a lot bigger had a small viewing area and had a fridge, when I questioned at reception whether we were actually given a suite we were told yes and there was hardly any size difference in the rooms when we could actually see there was a lot of difference. We were also told that a fridge doesn't come standard in the room which is odd to me as I have travelled a fair bit over the years and I don't remember any suites ( or rooms in general) that don't come with at least a mini bar or suite. They did however get me one from somewhere when I requested one

Review 29:Free wifi worked excellent. Good TV choice in english

Review 30:From extraordinary service and personal care to sublime linens and food, my stay was perfection. At every turn, the staff was there, prompt, efficient and caring...I will always use this group.

Review 31:No elevator, room located on the third floor, but staff did help with the bags. Still, walking up three flights of stairs at 10,000 ft. above sea level is a task. They did offer to change us to the first floor but we were already settled in and declined.

Review 32:Being able to get a room by 11 a.m. Very clean and comfortable Robes and slippers a nice touch Staff was amazingly helpful Breakfast was great

Review 33:Manager was less than helpful when we encountered a problem. Refused to negotiate to solve the problem. Brushed us off, only offer was to comp us our food bill, which was about 50 Soles, no loss to them, just to us. So sad this place had potential, we travel all over the world, this was our first poor experience!

Review 34:We booked a suite, it was delightful on our first visit, beware not all suites are equal! Our second suite was a dump, noisy, and reached thru a maze of hallways. No wifi most of the time. Staff was helpful, but not the management.

Review 35:Because the hotel is an old palace or something it has a lot of weird corridors which can make it hard to find your room. Also my room was on the second floor facing a courtyard. The only window was facing onto a walkway so I had to keep the curtains always closed and it felt very claustrophobic. I'm sure many other rooms wouldnt' have this issue.

Review 36:Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant on premises was quite good and service excellent. Location is an easy walk to Plaza de Armas and many significant local attractions. Short taxi ride to either the train station or airport.

Review 37:The Wifi didn't work all the time in our room but was good in the public areas.

Review 38:This hotel was in the perfect spot for touring Cusco and the area. The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable and well stocked and they served a great breakfast. They gave us recommendations for restaurants and we dined well. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cusco.

Review 39:The Wifi was intermittent. Some suites not as good as others. Room 301 was a much better layout than 303. Suites could do with a television in the sitting area.

Review 40:The suites are a good size, comfortable with spacious bathrooms. We asked for a quiet room facing a courtyard and had no noise. We highly recommend the Tapas and Wine deal offered early evening in the bar. The restaurant was quiet but the quality of food very good.

Review 41:This hotel is easily accessible to the main square with a walk of about 5 minutes. Central Cuzco isn't very big, so you are able to reach all the border squares, restaurants, and more with ease. The staff is very helpful but it took a few attempts before arrival to get them to assist with transportation and final arrangements. Be persistent. Don't be alarmed, when you arrive they will take you to the court yard and ask for your passport. They prefer their guest rest comfortably instead of hovering over the counter. The wifi in the rooms is so so but they have a lab with 3 computers open the majority of the day. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained - had a double with a friend that traveled with me and we had ample space to move about.

Review 42:The Wifi was poor at times otherwise nothing I didn't like.

Review 43:Breakfast was really great the staff was excellent as was the heating in this winter month the room was spacious location was very good not to close not to far great water pressure.

Review 44:Need to pay extra if you want wifi in your room

Review 45:Location is quite convenient to most places. Really good customer service and and buffet breakfast!

Review 46:Helpful staff and comfortable stay

Review 47:Lovely hotel; food excellent and staff helpful and pleasant. Great value in Cusco.

Review 65:I really love staying In this hotel. The guest service was superb and its in a very good location.

Review 66:EL HOTEL PARECÍA MEJOR EN FOTOS QUE EN LA REALIDAD

Review 67:LA ATENCIÓN DEL PERSONAL FUE EXCELENTE

Review 68:The staff is very friendly and eager to help, at all times. The casa is beautiful and just 4 blocks away from Plaza de Armas.

Review 69:Homophobics remarqs from some personnal of the hotel Wifi speed too low No spa

Review 70:Location Hôtel in an old mansion

Review 71:Hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. Food in the restaurant is excellent and staff is friendly.

Review 72:The room, in reality, was windowless as the only window was facing a shaded courtyard

Review 73:- Rooms are rather dark

Review 74:- Very friendly staff (helped to organise trips etc.) - Good breakfast - Good location

Review 75:Nothing

Review 76:Very good service and food. Comfortable environment.

Review 77:Good location, super comfy bed, great breakfast.

Review 78:Staff wellcoming and helpfull. Special thanks to Alejandro from the breakfast area.

Review 79:Noisy hotel.

Review 80:The staff

Review 81:Traffic noise and vibration of car traffic annoying and disruptive

Review 82:Staff were very attentive and helpful

Review 83:Cama incómoda

Review 84:Céntrico. Buena comida. Lindo lugar

Review 85:The staff are friendly and help with all travel arrangements. Beds are comfortable and good location, short walk to all sites.

Review 86:Confusion about transportation arrangements caused by a Reservations Supervisor based in Lima, Peru.

Review 87:Lovely hotel site. Friendly staff.

Review 88:Easy access to most Cusco attractions. Staff is friendly and rooms are OK.

Review 89:everything, special the people were very helpful and friendly. nice bar very good breakfast

Review 90:Size of room

Review 91:Location and staff

Review 92:everything was fine

Review 93:location, efficient and helpful staff

Review 94:WIFI was a mess - very Slow - didnt even work good sitting near the reception.

Review 95:big rooms good breakfast ideal for visiting the city

Review 96:The staff was very friendly, and le location was walking distance from plaza de armada were all restaurants and shops are.

Review 97:friendly and accommodating, great staff and guest artists

Review 98:Wifi was erratic, which was an incovenience. The internet connection in the computer room was very slow. The worst problem, however, was the persistent sewer smell issuing from the bathroom. It was unbearable. Despite their efforts the staff could do nothing about this. We were in Room 206, may be the other rooms weren't as bad.

Review 99:Great location, 4 - 5 blocks from Plaz Armas. Old, picturesque building. Spacious suites. Very helpful staff. Despite the heavy traffic, the rooms were quiet because of well insulated windows. But they had to be kept closed, so at times the room became stuffy.

Review 100:No elevators. They could place more colors and plants at hotel decoration. (The other hotels such as Ramada, Monasterio had more beautiful settings, more impressive entrance and gardens)

Review 101:We liked the staff at breakfast, very attentive. Rooms are clean.

Review 102:Compared to other Casa Andina hotels, facilites were not very special. They were kind of old

Review 103:It was a nice hotel located in a very good area, close to downtown

Review 104:The staff was very helpful. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of cable in English. Great location. Just a couple blocks from the Plaza and train station where you catch the bus for Machu Pichu. I would recommend this hotel to all friends traveling to Cusco.

Review 105:would have liked better ventilation in the bathroom, but just kept the door open when we showered and it was fine. No a/c, but slept very comfortably anyway.

Review 106:Complimentary breakfast, coco tea upon arrival, quiet, good part of town close to everything, helpful staff.

Review 107:Perhaps I was taken aback by the size of it, seeing that its various colonial houses altogether in an endless labyrinth of corridors and about 7 patios where you sometimes get lost despite the signs : )

Review 108:I'm a great fan of the Casa Andina chain of hotels, but this one was somehow a bit less satisfying than the rest. Its still a very characteristic hotel in an old colonial building with pleasant patios and a very elegant restaurant. The breakfast is also really good and rich.

Review 109:The staff was excellent! The food very well prepared and good. The hotel although an old building (that was the beauty of it) had all modern facilities . The free wi-fi is great.

Review 110:A charming place to stay. Expensive compared to other possibilities, but an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Review 111:The Bell staff and Concierge staffs were excellent. Friendly and helpful.

Review 112:The bathroom was a little old, this is a point for major improvement for the hotel; it should be closer to the hotel's standard in the rest of the areas. Also, we found out the hard way that Cusco's streets never seem to quiet down: our room (we received an upgrade) faced the hotel's main entrance which in turn faces a very busy street. Cars seemed to speed by and honk their horns (an abused practice at Peru) all night long... we ended wishing we had not received this upgrade, since we would have probably had better rest at our original, smaller but backwards facing room.

Review 113:The decor and general ambiance was outstanding, all the hotel is sort of decorated in a colonial style, which adds to the whole Cusco experience. Our room was very nice and big, with comfortable bed and furniture.

Review 114:Small detail, but doors to the rooms were very thin and you could hear everything going on outside. Our door opened up to a courtyard (which was pretty), but as soon as people started eating breakfast out there in the morning, it got loud.

Review 115:Facilites were nice. Staff very friendly. Located near Plaza de Armas and shopping. Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Onsite free breakfast was nice. Had dinner there twice and food was good.

Review 116:The facilities and staff is excellent. I would like to share my experience. My card was stuck in the ATM at the hotel. The manager went out of the way to help me resecure the card within the day. The staff is very helpful to plan the tours also. Overall a great hotel and would higly recommend to stay here.

Review 117:We have few complaints. There was some traffic noise, but could be minimized by closing external wooden doors on the balconies.

Review 118:We had a beautiful suite in a seventeenth century building at halfthe normal price.

Review 119:We thought the reception area was very ordinary and not particularly welcoming. The large tour groups that come and go make for large crowds at breakfast, so if you get there on the later side, the restaurant seems to be our of things and they are not replenished.

Review 120:We liked the staff very much, and the courtyards were pretty. The location of the hotel is good for sightseeing and shopping. We enjoyed a nice dinner while staying there.

Review 121:Our room was on the inside courtyard. There was no window and no air system, making the room very very stuffy.

Review 122:The hotel was beautiful and centrally located. The staff was helpful and professional .
