Reviews for Brandon Hotel & Spa

Review 1:Staff were rude

Review 2:Paid a double standard room and when my partner arrived I got a call from the porter to say I would be changed if my friend stayed after 12 complete and utter disgrace we left the hotel and booked into another

Review 3:Think the pool /leisure facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade

Review 4:Great location and the staff were lovely - so friendly and couldn't do enough for us

Review 5:The guinness on tap at the hotel bar was awful and it probably was the lack of demand for it. Even though the room was nice and clean, it was somehow dated and seemed stuck in an 80s time zone.

Review 6:Staff were friendly and as we didn't eat in the hotel we couldn't rate the food or dining room service.

Review 7:Staff, were excellent and very nice and very friendly I really enjoyed it, and the next time I come to truly I wanna hundred percent book the same hotel .

Review 8:The night Porter! Very rude, unhelpful and just awfully disinterested. He could have used his initiative, but didn't! He should have been more Friendly, He wasn't!

Review 9:Location, room,

Review 10:Couldn't find the stairs to the ground floor. Room was very stuffy, too noisy to leave window open. Was questioned when reported the noisy toilet/plumbing to staff rather than being told they would just check it out. Asked member of staff where would be good for music down town. They didn't know and didn't find out.

Review 11:Parking was good, location was excellent, nice bar,

Review 12:no tea or coffee in our room but could see on check out hat other rooms had such. Rang for room service and was asked to order and collect it myself (defeats the purpose of room service) because they where busy, when I went downstairs to see if the bar was busy there was prob around 20 people hardly rushed off their feet, not impressed

Review 13:Comfy bed, big room and clean

Review 14:Breakfast was not great at all. Very poor selection and was not fresh fruit more like tinned. There was no pastries. And the yoghurt was warm. The first morning we went for breakfast the staff was packing away breakfast before the time was up I asked for poached egg and it seemed to be a big deal even though breakfast still was not finished for another 20 mins and it was all cleared away by 10. The milk in the room was sour. And by day 3 the bananas was going black. If I knew this I would not of paid extra for breakfast.

Review 15:The room was spacious and warm. It was very quiet even tho it was peak season.

Review 16:We were standing outside having a cigarette around 11pm and over in the city car park across from the hotel there was 3 young boys with hurleys walking around and they smashed a car. The windows and mirrors and boot. We didn't feel very safe at all and we were glad that we didn't park our car in their because we did when we arrived as we didn't no the hotel had free parking for customers.

Review 17:The location was excellent. And the leisure centre was really nice too very relaxing would definitely recommend it.

Review 18:The hotel is nice but the pool area was a let down.

Review 19:The location is good, just a short walk to the shops with nice restaurants and bars close by. Free carpark is very handy.

Review 20:As above

Review 21:Stayed in the hotel 37 years ago when it was one of the top in Ireland and had great memories. Booked for five days this time and was disappointed. Reception area etc looked fresh but the bedroom left a lot to be desired. There were ugly staines on the carpet the walls were dirty. The room just looked shabby and the view out on top of a dirty roof was uninviting. There was only one chair in the room. We had breakfast each morning at 9 and the food was just too long cooked and only just warm. sausages an bacon hard. I couldn't say that in 5 days there that one member of the staff engaged with us. It was certainly not a friendly hotel. Disappointed. €440 for 4 nights B and B. We were sorry we didn't go to a good B and B

Review 22:Breakfast was poor some bar staff not great left waiting to be served on a few occasions. Don't mind waiting to be served but not even acknowledged while wailing we had ordered food but had to get our own Cutlery.

Review 23:Hotel was very central bar manager very good receptionist very nice

Review 24:Breakfast was awful very greasy poor selection toaster was a joke too ages and only half toasted. No residence bar on a Saturday nite??? For the price I paid I was very dissapointed defo not a four star.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Hearing I was talke about. The noise from outside as on top floor should have been a bit quoted i would ah w though.

Review 27:Nice hotel. Comfortable. Wanted an upgrade and got it and paid for it too but heard later the staff were complaining about me I knew what I wanted and paid for it so it should not matter but humans will be humans but probably would stay ere again regardless

Review 28:The fire alarm went off at 7am. The alarm kept going so I evacuated the room (apparently it was toast burning in the kitchen). I left my key behind. I discovered there was no duplicate key in reception, only a fob with the door number written on it. The girl at reception was new and couldnt help. There seemed to be just 2 other staff members in the whole hotel. Strange for such a big hotel. The girl in reception rang the manager but he wasnt picking up. I was told I would have to wait until somebody from housekeeping turned up. Luckily the head housekeeper came in about 9 am and she was able to let me into my room with her key. It was all a bit disconcerting and on top of that I was late for my appointment! The breakfast was very basic.

Review 29:The room was warm and adequate.

Review 30:Staff outstanding Room perfect Facilities great Car park free Breakfast wholesome Dinner delicious Location area stunning Just every thing!!

Review 31:Food adequate but underwhelming Could do with a rethink on this as service was excellent so expected better food

Review 32:The smiling helpful staff made our short stay We will be back

Review 33:I didn't like the exterior facade, I thought it would be a Georgian , like the surrounding houses.

Review 34:I liked the look of the foyer when I went in and i liked the food in the bar.

Review 35:Woken at 2.30 by noisy guests, aware then of noisy motor/generator/shower type of noise and couldn't get back to sleep . Night staff advised and was moved to quieter room. No real apology from reception.

Review 36:Bedroom spacious spotless had all facilities one would require

Review 37:Thought it was a bit pricy for two nights but maybe as it was the weekend of Graduation. There were definitely cheaper hotels but I did enjoy my stay.

Review 38:Loved the food

Review 39:The jacuzzi in the leisure centre was not clean-there was a film of dirt at the top of it. Couldn't get into it even tho I was really looking forward to it. Rooms were old fashioned.

Review 40:Food in the bar was nice. Good location.

Review 41:Broken bed in our first room, broken bed in the room we moved to. Eventually sorted out. Very narrow corridors. The hotel was quite dated.

Review 42:Leisure centre was good. 3 generations of my family spent a cous of hours enjoying the facilities.

Review 43:Old fashioned rooms. Clogged up drain in bath. No bath mats. Bar staff cleaning up long before closing time. Poor selection at breakfast if you wanted continental breakfast.

Review 44:Liked the location.

Review 45:Was awake during the night with a ticking noise. The room did not have air conditioning and we could only partly open one of the windows.

Review 46:The hotel is very central and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Review 47:I have nothing to say in this section.

Review 48:Everything :) As I have allergies to food and other things, dining was a pleasure for me, as I was able to ask to switch food around and I felt so safe.

Review 49:Kerry is a distance from everywhere so if making bus or train connection hotel must use a reliable taxi service. I had 3 buses to make the taxi was late, just made it and driver didn't even help me to get case on board. Confusion about checking why booked taxi was missing. The bar is a dark, gloomy time warp.

Review 50:On the whole the staff were very helpful.

Review 51:The room was fine but a bit dated. The bar area needs some updated furniture. Other wise a nice hotel.

Review 52:Great location. Nice food. Friendly staff very helpful. Would stay again

Review 53:The Rose of Tralee festival had just ended. The fairground was still in situ across the road from our hotel. During the day this was not a problem and in fact we enjoyed looking out and watching the world go by. However at night time it was very noisy particularly on the Saturday night of our stay. mainly I have to say from late night passers by after the late bars/nightclubs had closed. Moreover on Sunday morning at about 7a.m. the fairground staff started dismantling the fairground and the resultant noise from their generators and lorries put paid to our sleep. I did complain on checkout.

Review 54:Convenience and parking. Welcome from Reception on arrival. We had a lovely room on the 5th Floor overlooking Princes Street and the scenery in the distance was lovely. The Bed was very comfortable and bathroom spacious.

Review 55:Leaving

Review 56:The location of the hotel was great. Food and service was first class. What really really stood out was the attention of the staff. Friendly ,Welcoming ,Caring and just simply very nice people.

Review 57:Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, we were attending a wedding the first night in a different hotel. Next morning cleaners knocked and walked in at 9am. Second morning (the day we were checking out- which wasn't until 11 or 12) cleaners knocked and walked in at both 8:30 and 9am. Would be a perfect hotel if they reconsidered the hours of housekeeping. Every other hotel I have stayed in does it in the afternoon.

Review 58:Location and price

Review 59:Tralee itself was super busy because of the festival and even though there was a huge Garda presence we didn't stay out late as there were a lot of fights and people looking for trouble. Didn't actually feel that safe and I'm Irish.

Review 60:Had to go to Tralee for an interview which coincided with the Rose of Tralee Festival so all the hotels were twice their normal price except for the Brandon. was a bit nervous as some of the reviews here we're negative but I only have good things to say about our stay. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great and included in the price. And the staff were fabulous even though they were obviously very busy. Really lovely hotel.

Review 61:Hotel was great, but Tralee town was a disappointment

Review 62:Location was excellent. Room was big and clean and bed was comfy. Allowed me to park my bike securely around the back

Review 63:We barely got any sleep the walls are paper thin every time the people next to us used the toilet we could hear them same with the shower it was a nice hotel cleanliness should be a bit updated

Review 64:Loved the location few mins away from everything. Staff were very nice in the bar .bar food was lovely

Review 65:Only one minor thing. There are internet facilities in the rooms but only for those that bring their own connection devices. It would be nice to have one of those pay-per-minute PCs in the lobby for those that travel without electronic devices

Review 66:The location is excellent, close to the centre of the town. The desk staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. The included breakfast was more than adequate. The room, and particularly the bathroom were very spacious with real wwood furniture.

Review 67:Receptionist extremely helpful and informative. Rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. Good secure car parking. Ideal location for touring Dingle area.

Review 68:Room was very dated, bed was uncomfortable and breakfast was bland. Definitely not worth 70 euro per person per night for B&B! Would not go back there!

Review 69:It's in a good location and the staff were good,

Review 70:Getting out of bed!

Review 71:Friendly welcome and banter with the staff, Free parking, Beds on the 5th floor are magnificent, Buffet breakfast, Location. Convenient and super quiet.

Review 72:Noise from the street at night

Review 73:Great location. Got a bit noisy from the kids on the street at night. .. But overall a nice place. Plenty of parking and good facilities

Review 74:Breakfast was disappointing in that, while the "fry-up and toast" was excellent, that was the only option, nothing lighter available. You get a single traditional room-key, so it's inconvenient to do things independently of each other (e.g. one of you go to bed early), compared with if you each had a key-card.

Review 75:The bar is good and spacious, with friendly staff, and it does have music on some evenings. Swimming pool etc are excellent and convenient.

Review 76:Lack of entertainment as in music at night , I would have preferred to have not gone out to the town

Review 77:The fun atmosphere but still peaceful and private , the courtesy of the staff and the luxury of the room , I will return and recommend to others . Thank you

Review 78:Food and Service

Review 79:The room was too warm and tv didn't work very well.

Review 80:Centre of town. Bar food was lovely. Wi fi was good

Review 81:Just a little too warm Thinner quilts is must.

Review 82:THE STAFF,especially in the dining room .

Review 104:It was nice to have the pool and spa after a long week of golf. Easy to walk to town for dinner and coffee. Loved the free parking behind.

Review 106:Hotel was nice. Room comfortable but pool and leisure centre dissapointing. Great parking.

Review 107:Lovely staff, great location, sauna, swimming pool

Review 108:The noisy lift up and down. The young party goers outside our room on the street below singing at 2 am

Review 109:Location to the town centre
