Reviews for Ard Na Mara Beach Cottage
Review 1:The location is close to paradise, at beautifull Glassilaun beach. Close to many places of interest and beauty. Room was super with great bed and Italian shower plus two confortable seats, small convenient fridge in the hallway, own entrance and very, very nice hosts!!! Great selections for breakfast and so many good suggestions for sightseeing, walks (the Killary walk of Peter is a must-do!!), music and bars/reataurants. At the same time you will have more than enough privacy. Nothing but a 10 could be worth all this.
Review 2:Tv didn't have any working channels on it. Breakfast sittings allocated for set time with no flexibility at all. Wifi was slow. Isolated location far from shops or pubs.
Review 3:Amazing view, room was big and comfortable. Amazing beach within walking distance.
Review 4:Absolute stunning location. Great and dramatic scenery combined with a lovely host. You even have a stunning beach right below your window with just a few minutes to walk. Amanda and Peter are really into the B&B with their heart. The breakfast ist lovely, the rooms really large and with an amazing view. The home-cooked dinner is also really tasty. You can even get a lift to a pub in the evening. Altogether there is nothing you have to miss and you can have a wonderful time. Compared to other B&Bs this is also really good value. Nevertheless keep in mind the area is a little remote, but if nature and a beautiful scenery is what you're looking for, I definitely recommend this place!!!
Review 5:Italian shower making water splashing everywhere (and making me walking till the toilet during the night on the wet cold floor. But it's only very minor inconvenience. All the rest was excellent.
Review 6:Our best experience from our 8 days travel through South-Western Ireland. The place is remote and situated 100 meters from the beautiful sandy beach not far from the best sites of Connemora, like Connemora national park, Sky Road etc. Amanda and Peter are very nice, their house very cozy, our panoramic view room was very beautiful and we enjoyed a great breakfast in the coziest room ever.
Review 7:Stunning location. Spacious, comfortable and clean accommodation. Delicious food. Friendly and hospitable hosts. Ard na Mara is within walking distance of one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. Highly recommend you stay here if visiting the Connemara area!
Review 8:Very friendly welcome and thoughtful touches at every turn. As a family with two teenagers we were given the upstairs which is almost like a separate flat although the sitting area was on a mezzanine level above the kitchen/ diner. Extensive collection of DVDs. Good power shower and excellent breakfast. Good value for money.
Review 9:The only thing we regreth is that we couln't stay longer
Review 10:The hospitallity, the accomodation and espacillity the view and location. A special thanks to Ammanda and Peter for everything and their hospitallity
Review 11:Nothing! Everything was amazing just like Amanda.
Review 12:Amanda and her husband, the food, the location all just brilliant. Could not do enough to help and advise just wonderful.
Review 13:Rooms were decorated for children House and decor lacked character Sitting area overlooked family home and lacked privacy despite the fact it was listed as separate .
Review 14:Area was beautiful Rooms were very clean Hosts were pleasant
Review 15:There was no tub in bathroom or no enclosed shower. Minor inconvenience...
Review 16:Beauty countryside all around, with breath-taking views of Irish hills and the sea. The town pub nearby in tulle cross is so full of atmosphere and true Irish friendly staff, amazing Guinness and the food is great.
Review 17:Nothing!
Review 18:Remote location; only findable with good road description from B&B! Unimaginable view! On the hill, with the Connemara next door and the sunset catching your fotographic eye. Private entrance to your fantastic room; only six feet to carry your luggage! Your lovely breakfast cooked to order by "saint" Peter! He's your guy but not at "the Gate";-) Very warm people; very helpfull and good indications where to go and where to eat! You're right in the middle of "National Geographic Channel" from TV.
Review 19:Nothing. Perfect stay!
Review 20:Beautiful room, beautiful location, amazing host Amanda. We traveled from Canada with our two young girls ages 3 and 5 and have never felt so at home while traveling! The two bedroom unit was so beautifully kept and decorated.
Review 21:That we had to leave!
Review 22:Amazing view, beautiful room. Lovely couple, even took us to restaurant and greeted us with cake! Perfect, our favourite B&b out of 9 others we stayed at on this holiday.
Review 23:The house has a great feeling to it Breakfast prepared by our host Peter was beyond all expectations We had a wonderful stay. Wish it was not for just one night.
Review 24:Nothing! It is a perfection.
Review 25:Very welcoming hosts, extremely clean, beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast each morning (scrambled egg and smoked salmon were my favourites!) and a truly stunning beach!
Review 26:Really loved the place, the surroundings are stunning, Amanda and Peter are friendly and great at making you feel welcome and relaxed, it feels like a home not a B&B, the rooms, the food, the place, the doggies..everything it's just great! Can't wait to be back!
Review 27:Our stay in Amandas B&B was absolutely satisfying. The location is spectacular and the B&B won't leave any wish unfulfilled. We can highly recommend her place.
Review 28:We loved our room with the sea view and the ensuite wet room/shower room. Amanda & Peter were friendly and helpful, but didn't intrude on our privacy. Perfect hosts!! And they do a great breakfast with plenty of choice if you give them notice.
Review 29:Such a lovely place to stay with amazing wild landscapes. Amanda is a lovely host and is so welcoming. The house has everything you need. We would recommend this place to stay.
Review 30:I wish I could have spent some more time with the dogs.
Review 31:The location is simply amazing, the house as well and I really enjoyed the fact two little dogs welcomed us when arriving. Breakfast is great, hosts are cool people.
Review 32:Absolutely nothing to dislike, 1 wish them well
Review 33:Fresh, spotless accomodation, attention to detail to make your stay memorable, location beautiful, owners happy to help you with any query you may have.
Review 34:Beautiful location in the mountains, Very Friendly owners, Great Irish breakfast, Great evening cooking, especially the chicken curry. The room was beautiful and included complimentary amenities such as water, soap, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and water.
Review 35:As soon as I booked this B&B, I recived an email from the owner. They kindly give us very detailed directions and we've been asked if we would like to have dinner there, as many restaurants close quite early in that area. Peter welcomed us and cooked a delicious dinner. Our room and bathroom were very clean and tidy, with an amazing view on the ocean. The bed was so comfortable, the sheets so soft, that when I came back home I couldn't sleep properly in my own bed! Amanda cooked our breakfast that was really good, and she served it in this beautiful living room with sea view. One afternoon we came back really wet after a walk in the Connemara National Park and the owners were so kind that they dry our clothes and make our room very warm. Thank you Amanda and Peter!
Review 36:nothing!! perfection!!
Review 37:Loved this little piece of heaven on the Connemara Coastline. Yes it is remote but it is all worth it I promise! We arrived late and the owner gladly made us Coffee & also offered scones etc. Then we placed our order for brekkie, which was very early the next morning. Our room was beautiful and the house itself was just gorgeous! If we can we will definitely return!!
Review 38:Nothing

Review 41:This was our favourite place when we were in Ireland! The hosts were particularly helpful and friendly! We wanted for nothing! We have felt ourselves as at our Home! We just recommend and do well by Amanda an Peter! The landscape was more than beautiful, next time we will spend more days there, not just a night! Thanks for all, and All the bests for You! :)
Review 42:Very friendly hosts, even gave us a lift to the local pub for dinner in the evening. Beautiful location although a little difficult to find.Would stay again if in the area.
Review 43:First off we would like to thank Peter and Amanda for an excellent stay. Peter even made a fabulous stew for our dinner one night. Their friendly cheerful personalities added greatly to our stay. The cottage is only 5 years old and was first rate. Our room was large with fabulous views of the ocean and the spectacular beach.
Review 44:that we had to leave...
Review 45:Staying in Amandas&Peters B&B was the best decision we made during our Ireland holiday. The house is located on a great spot surrounded by beautiful landscape and very close to a beach that gives you carribean feeling (well, if the weather is good ;-)) and you have a spectacular view over the sea. Our both rooms on the ground floor were big, clean and very stylish with direct sea view. They make you feel very comfortable. An excellent place for relaxing, feeling good and spending holidays - no matter what the weather is like. Amanda and Peter have been great and lovely hosts. The included breakfast where you can chosse between 5 different meals and the dinner you can order on demand were absolutely delicious. Amanda was so sweet and caring, she even picked us up when we got soaking wet on a walk. Back at the B&B they spoiled us with home-made scones and coffee and helped us dry our clothes. We spend 4 nights at Amanda&Peters' and were really sorry that we could'n stay longer and that we had to leave... But we'll definitely come back :-)
Review 46:Everything. We cannot commend Ard na Mara Beach Cottage enough. It is in a beautiful location and has been excellently completed. The service was second to none. We were treated like royalty, slept like logs and had a delicious breakfast. What more could we ask for!
Review 47:our room was very beautiful with a beautiful view. you can reach the beach in a few minutes and the hosts have been the friendliest and most helpfull we had. :)

We loved our room with both of vue of the sea and of the hills. We loved our stay at Ard Na Mara Beach Cottage! Rooms are very nice and clean. Amanda and Peter are fantastic people. We arrived quite late but they welcomed us with a warm tea and cake. They advised on what is worth to see, how to get where etc. When we will back to Ireland, we choose this place again and we will recommend Ard Na Mara Beach Cottage to our friends.
Review 57:Amanda and Peter were really welcoming and friendly, hospitality could not have been better and location is idyllic! Our room was bright and modern with contemporary decor, beds were very comfortable, with fresh towels and every convenience including tea, coffee, fridge, amazing shower! Breakfast was superb full Irish fry, cereals, fruit etc - we could not recommend Ard na Mara Beach Cottage highly enough and look forward to our next stay!
Review 58:I wish we had booked two nights!
Review 59:My favorite place on earth thus far. We were all kids again- playing all day on the beautiful beach and roaming the islands accessible at low tide. While many hosts list hospitality as their strong suit, this B&B captures the very essence of it. If you don't mind small country roads with sheep crossing here and there- DO NOT miss this paradise. We will never forget it. A must.
Review 60:The location is perfect. The owners are very friendly and professional. Actually, all provided services are brilliant - the highest quality for lowest price. I will come back again… It is absolutely not necessary to look for another place.

Review 97:Our first time in Ireland and immediately we struck gold. That is how we thought after our wonderful stay at Ard Na Mara Beach Cottage. We had enough privacy, the room was really gorgeous, clean and to see the sun set from this point was -without exaggerating- unforgettable. It's a warm place in the middle of the pure Irelandic scenery. The hostess and host were both kind and helpful, their breakfast delicious!! Especially after a good night at the nearest pub... Honestly, the only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer. Excellent stay! Uitstekend verblijf!
Review 98:what a beautiful B&B! 200 m to the beach, great breakfast and charming hosts! We felt at home here! Special Thanks to our b&b-Mummy Amanda and Peter - all the best for you!
Review 99:The Ard Na Mara B&B was the best of our 2 week trip in Irleand! The room and the view were perfect. It is only a short walk to the nice and quiet beach. We will definetly come back!
Review 100:The location is beautiful. Amanda and Peter were perfect hosts and attended to our every need. Special touches like candles, flowers and fresh drinking water in the room made all the difference. The place was immaculate. The food was very well cooked and presented wonderfully. All in all a fantastic place to stay. Would highly recommend.
Review 101:Great b and b situated in a wounderfull situation overlooking a fabulous beach which is five minutes walk. Amanda and Peter are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The room was lovely and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it! We will defnitely stay again and would recommend to anybody.
