Reviews for Manor West Hotel & Leisure Club

Review 1:The hotel is ideally located for Kerry airport, it is just outside Tralee town centre, there is plenty of parking. It is very comfortable, with good facilities, decent food, wonderful staff. Vert good value for money.

Review 2:None

Review 3:Room and it's facilities were great, warm and comfortable, parking was safe and convenient. Leisure facilities were good. Meals in the bar were great as was breakfast.

Review 4:Only one thing what we didnt like.....that we needed to order breakfast in the restaurant and after wait 10-15 min. Restaurant really small, not enough tables at busy time.

Review 5:We were in this hotel first time and we really enjoyed:) Room was clean, bed was big enough and really comfortable. The most important for us was swimming pool and it was absolutely fantastic:) Our 3 years son didnt want to leave the hotel, he wanted to stay longer in swimming pool:)

Review 6:The thing I liked least was the food its not terribly but it is not fabulous either

Review 7:I have stayed at the Manor west several times i have always enjoy my stay particular because of the staff they are so friendly and helpful and then because of the layout and the facilities of the hotel

Review 8:Didn't like we were on the third floor and were awoke on Sunday morning early by someone sorting bottles.

Review 9:I really liked the hotel very clean and comfortable

Review 10:The house keeping staff came into our room at 9am and woke us. They came back then at 11am. After waking us at 9am we could hear the staff up and down the hall so not much rest in the mornings

Review 11:The staff at breakfast were helpful except for one of the girls who wasn't very nice. Tastless breakfast. Stain in bathroom and carpet. Room cold and poor power in shower. Old tv in room with bad reception....

Review 12:Staff at reception are lovely and helpful and friendly. Good service and food in the bar. Despite my negative comments I probably might stay again.....

Review 13:Too short .!

Review 14:Food great. All staff very helpful, even though I had made an error in my booking... All sorted out without fuss!! Bar staffs served error in bill , again sorted with no fuss . Love Xmas decorations xx

Review 15:Maybe it was location of room but it was very noisy. Could hear everything from hallway and very loud music began early in the morning (I assume room was close to the gym) so didn't sleep well.

Review 16:Room was lovely

Review 17:I stayed for Ten Nighs. It is a great hotel with perfect location to the shopping area and only 30 Mon.walk to town center, room is spacious with comfortable bed and fine toilet.the breakfast was great and the free WIFI was Strong.staff friendly and helpful.price reasonable.

Review 18:Could do with softer pillows. Don't rate the food in the restaurant due to not much choice if your a vegetarian .

Review 19:Very convenient location. friendly staff. hotel nice and clean.

Review 20:The hotel is in a good location, a short walk from the train station. The staff are excellent and extremely pleasant. Great selection at breakfast all hot and fresh

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:What a great little hotel. As with all the other reviewers I have to say the staff were exceptional. The rooms are first class and I could not find fault with this hotel. My best experience of an Irish hotel. On a side note, Tralee is a great little town and much nicer then Killarney.

Review 23:Bedroom doors slam shut making a really loud bang. Constantly hearing doors slam shut all night/morning.

Review 24:Friendly staff Nice omelette for breakfast

Review 25:Staff friendly, space great, so convenient to shopping, every facility one might require was to hand. Particularly good for an autumn/winter/spring stay.

Review 26:Gym was ok

Review 27:Hotel was beautiful. Nice big rooms. Location was perfect as it was right beside the shopping outlets. Staff were nice too. I would go back.

Review 28:The staff were exrtemely friendly and helpful particularly reception staff who were very welcoming and couteous from the start making me feel totally at home.

Review 29:Fantastic Hotel. Staff were exceptionally friendly and catered to our every need. Hotel is very modern and well maintained. Lovely Pool Area and Magnificent Breakfast. We will be back.

Review 30:Bad location,no nice duvets just horrible stinky brown blankets coverswith sheets.Bar food was horrible and overpriced.I Ate better food intown nice clean restaurants and cheaper.

Review 31:The breakfast and swimming pool was good.the staff was horrible and not1 bit friendly.

Review 32:Terrible location, view from my room was of empty rubbish skips and lager barrels. Heat in the room was very hard to control, would hate to have to stay there during summer months

Review 33:Nice room, comfortable bed.

Review 34:Great location for us, great Town, good shopping close by, easy parking, Leisure facilities good, Food and hotel service good, great warm breakfast, Very pleased with our stay Eric

Review 35:poor reading lights in room.....carpet needs replacing....as does tv......

Review 36:good car park on ground and underground....nice bright reception area...nice girls on reception....clean and quick lifts....room grand.....could do with upgrade..tv and lighting...and carpets

Review 37:Food in bar was acceptable but nothing great, and we had a long wait for it on both nights we ate

Review 38:reception staff were fab, and bedroom plus swimming pool were great

Review 39:Slightly pricey at weekend for B&B for well mannered school groups like us many of whom don't eat massive breakfasts as they are playing in a Tournament.

Review 40:We stayed with a school basketball team, this was not our first time staying here and once again nothing was a problem for the excellent staff. We are great food in the Pub/Restaurant, some of the young lads ordered in a pizza, Tesco beside the hotel as well plus quiet, safe environment. Staff just facilitated ever request we had. Top notch as always.

Review 41:The only fault with the hotel was the that the cleaners from 08.05 am in the morning kept opening our door and closing it sighing heavily and banging door untill 12 o clock (check outtime). We though this very in appropiate and in all the hotels it has never happened previouusly .

Review 42:I really enjoyed my stay at manor west front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming.location was great and facilities modern.

Review 43:We probably had a bad luck, but our trip there was disaster. We booked family room and they upgraded us to executive suite since there is no family room left and kid got camping bed to sleep on.. Was in shock.. After coming down and talking to reception, we got a normal bed in the room for our child. I told them that it would be nice that they called me and told me that they don't have available family rooms because this trip was for family not for me and my husband. Then we turned tv on and saw that it was cracked, so half of picture was missing. I went down and told them, they said they will look and never did.. Breakfast - they gave my order to someone else, so I had to wait for new one to be made. We were laughing at this point, but I wasn't happy with stay at all..

Review 44:Bathroom is nice and big. Spa is ok.

Review 45:There was a noise in the bedroom that sounded like a generator or boiler or extraction fan. I lost a nights sleep. To be fair to staff I did report it and they thought it was a vending machine in the corridor so switched it off but the noise continued. Also we chose to eat in the bistro because there was crab claws on menu but after we ordered we were told there wasn't any. This was unfortunate as we would have eaten in Adare if we had known. The meal was average but service very friendly

Review 46:Beds were a bit hard.

Review 47:Staff were the nicest, friendliest staff I've ever come across. Absolutely top class. Breakfast was also great - can't score the food highly enough.

Review 48:We booked a suite. It wasn't very user friendly. The tea/coffee making facilities were in the dressing room so you had to carry hot drinks through a door which you had to pull open. The furniture to put your case on was a way from the wardrobes & drawers so you have to go backwards & forwards to unpack otherwise put your case on the floor by wardrobes. This is not convenient if you are elderly.

Review 49:Well trained & very friendly staff. My husband needed a doctor & they couldn't have been more helpful. Bistro in hotel had a good & varied menu. Convenient by a roundabout with roads going in every direction. Also by a retail park selling everything you need. Ring of Kerry very pretty.

Review 50:55 EURO FOR AN U16 KID B&B IS A BIT STEEP WHEN THE LIKES OF THE LOUIS FITZ IN DUBLIN WILL DO IT FOR 30 EURO FOR TRIPLES SIMILAR STAR ETC.

Review 51:HAVE STAYED WITH OUR SCHOOL BASKETBALL GROUP BEFORE, THEY ARE GOOD KIDS AND THE HOTEL UNDERSTANDS THEM AND SHOWS A LITTLE FLEXIBILITY WHEN THEY MIGHT WANT TO HAVE A PIZZA DELIVERED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT

Review 52:Location was adjacent to a shopping mall in the suburbs of Tralee. Not convenient to city centre but we were in town for a wedding and it was very convenient to the venue.

Review 53:Modern, well equipped facility. Rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Review 54:shower playing up, not many sockets in room, breakfast could be improved upon and restaurant staff ok just need better training with someone watching over them.

Review 55:+ parking, quick check in, friendly reception staff, good hygiene, big room, comfy bed, and nice bar food and bar staff good. relaxing bar area. Check out good and broken shower was taken into consideration. Would recommend and will return.

Review 56:I really couldnt fault this hotel..I was happy with everything. .I would just recommend some toys for the kids pool..some ducks ot something to play with

Review 57:I absolutely loved this hotel.it was our first stay in this hotel ever and I will definitely be returning to this hotel..the staff and food was amazing..the hotel was nice and warm and cosy..the pool facilities were lovely and clean..

Review 58:The hotel is ideally located just outside the town centre with beautiful views. The rooms are very spacious and are ideal for a holiday of pure relaxation.

Review 59:Room was fantastic, spacious, bright. Bed was extremly comfortable. Bathroom was tastefully decorated wit jacuzi bath and separate rain shower, i could of stayed in the room for a wk fanastic value for money

Review 60:Beds really hard. Bar closed very early. Breakfast only ok. Long walk to town centre.

Review 61:Leisure centre was great. Most staff very friendly. Rooms nice and spacious. Shopping centre across the road.

Review 62:1) As I am over 80, I would have liked to have had a proper reading light in the bedroom 2) There was a fly or 2 in the dining area. It was horrible to see it crawling on my bread during my last meal

Review 63:The only negative was that in our opinion the towels in the leisure complex could have been larger, we are not small people and we would prefer to be covered up when existing the shower area to use the dressing room.

Review 64:Fabulous welcome on arrival, food was excellent, staff were really genuinely friendly.

Review 65:The TV in room, about 30 years old, and the reception on it was brutal.

Review 66:Love this hotel, first time staying and won't be last hopefully, great location, shops and plenty of entertainment around for kids, less than a 5min walk away. It's about a 5min drive into city.

Review 67:Could not understand why bar closed at 11 o clock on Sunday night and why we were asked to move out to the lobby also there was no interaction with the bar person no atmosphere in the bar and no reason to stay in the hotel for entertainment at night

Review 68:Hard to control the air conditioning & had to call for a handy man to fix the shower. (This was done immediately)

Review 69:We stayed in the executive suite, which was very big & very comfortable. Right beside the shopping centre.

Review 70:No free WiFi .

Review 71:We liked the bright spacious room and the excellent staff in the bar and breakfast room. The breakfast menu was very good with plenty of choice.

Review 72:dirty windows in room from outside....breaky not the best.oj could be real....attention to detail in dining area could be much better.

Review 73:clean all over.nice lady at reception.bar improving room excellent nice new telly good car parking and good underground car park

Review 74:Excellent Irish Staff for breakfast. The Pool, Sauna & Stamroom were very fresh and excellent. It was great to have that facility for my morning swim.

Review 75:The rooms were very warm but this is not unusual for hotels.

Review 76:The staff were so nice and welcoming especially to my 3 year old. Also the location is perfect.

Review 77:When checking in was told breakfast as from 7 am As we had to leave by 6-30 I asked if the price of breakfast be subtracted from the room rate I was paying which was €170 I was told that this could not be done as I had booked through booking .com

Review 78:Room was very spacious Bed v dry comfortable Bathroom very good Cleanliness excellent

Review 79:No bad experience

Review 80:From once we entered the hotel we were welcomed warmly and provided with all information that we needed. All staff were engaging and helpful through our our stay. Food was amazing in the bar. We were disappointed we were only staying for one night. My 3 year old woke us in the morning to state " Daddy this bed is amazing". We will be back again. Just wanted to thank Rory for making us feel so welcome and looking after use throughout our stay. See you soon.

Review 81:First of all there was no meet and greet at breakfast or in the Bistro,we waited until we just had to find a table ourselves. We had a meal in the Bistro and they seemed to misplace our order, although they were very apologetic and pleasant it took 45 minutes to get our meal.

Review 82:Our room and food was excellent.

Review 83:I was disappointed with the presentation of the Manor burger which I got as room service.

Review 84:Staff were great, really friendly and helpful. Really nice breakfast. I got an amazing room on the 4th floor.

Review 85:All areas were immaculate. Very friendly staff. Excellent choice at breakfast. Very reasonable lunch prices in the bar. Facilities in the leisure club were fantastic. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 86:I didn't like the bar, though I'm not sure why. The décor seemed a little dated, there was a '70's vibe which I couldn't shake, strangely.

Review 87:The bedroom was large, and comfortable, and breakfast was very good, mainly because of how friendly the staff were.

Review 88:The hotel's location isn't the prettiest as it is right beside a shopping centre/mall but having said that, it was easy to find from the motorway etc.

Review 89:Well equipped bed room and very friendly and helpful staff who all had a lovely attitude and seemed to be happy in their work.

Review 90:Nothing,

Review 91:From the moment we stepped in the door we were greeted by friendly staff. The hotel reception area, bar and bedroom was spotless and spacious. Breakfast freshly cooked and Hot! you don't always find this in all hotels

Review 92:Nothing - except the view isn't great looking out to the front of the hotel.

Review 93:Really friendly helpful staff. Excellent bar food and breakfast menu. Nice clean pool. Comfortable bed. Liked the art work .

Review 94:that we had to come home

Review 95:the staff were all so helpful and friendly, the food in the bistro was fabulous, (the burger was the size of a small house) breakfast catered for everything u could think of and more

Review 96:On arrival I was told I needed to give a 100 euro deposit which I was not informed about absolute joke . apparently its policy . if its policy than I should have been informed about this as I had other family staying in the hotel that didn't need to pay it . also I'm 5 months pregnant and was left outside in the cold that night as I tried to enter the hotel because the night porter was not in the reception area . also I could hear the guy next door snoring would never stay here again I was really really unhappy . not worth the money or the stress on the day of my uncles wedding.

Review 97:Travelling by myself with two year old had a lot of baggage and was struggling no offer of help when checking in or out. Purchased dinner in the bar which was burnt and stone cold !!!!

Review 98:Breakfast excellent compliments to the chef also waiting staff very helpful and polite.

Review 99:Water could be a tad warmer especially little poodle for little babies. I think it was only around 30 degrees Celsius. Definitely colder than air temperature.

Review 100:Overall excellent leisure facilities

Review 101:When booking on booking.com we had asked for early checkin to facilitate getting changed for a wedding, we got no reply and on arrival the room was not ready. We were accomodated by being allowed change in the leisure centre though.

Review 102:I was in a top floor bedroom on a very stormy night. The noise from rattling of roof and piping was constant and very loud and below the standard of what I would have thought were most building code requrements

Review 103:No privacy. Could hear next doors conversation and they had crying children all night. Also advertised spa. Which was cold not hot.

Review 104:Big rooms. Comfortable beds

Review 105:Bar was closed. Whiff in room from carpet. Toilet did not seem secure or sturdy.

Review 106:I received the quiet room and extra pillows that I had requested. Location is very convenient.

Review 107:i didn't like the breakfast, the full irish wasn't nice at all. Poached eggs were overcooked! pancakes looked like they were out of a packet, and had a strange texture. the pavlova in the bar was disappointing! shower looked so promising but it was impossible to get the temperature right and it didn't have enough power

Review 108:i got upgraded so i was thrilled! room was amazing. very clean and huge in size. i had huge balcony with sitting area which was amazing as it was a sunny day. no noise at night staff were very helpful food in the bar is lovely (i had fish dishes)

Review 109:need to upgrade now that recession is over....old style tv....need new ones....better lighting to front of hotel.....

Review 110:the nice atmosphere....the cleaning staff excellent....nice pool...........nice car park....shopping centre...

Review 111:I saw four guys running through the bar and towards the toilet/reception area late at night. The barmen went to look for them and they appeared to run off through another exit then but I felt security wasn't adequate at that hour and would have felt unsafe if I had been on my own.

Review 112:Foyer area was cool and would not tempt one to hang about. Poor outlook onto retail park.

Review 113:Some lovely Irish art on the walls in the public areas. Nice 18m pool. Lovely breakfast served at table.

Review 114:Staff in the bar/food area were not pleasant. They were very moody. The food was not up to scratch. It was taste less.

Review 115:Great location. Very clean rooms and spacious.

Review 116:It was about a 25 minute walkfrom the town centre but there are plenty of taxis to get you there and back if you need them. The quality of the hotel and value for money outweigh the distance so We'll be staying here again.

Review 117:We loved the suite. Huge comfy bed in a huge room. Had never stayed in a suite before so it was a big step up from a standard room. There was a lovely view of the mountains if you don't mind the view of the nearby shopping centre. Really nice hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was a delight. We will definitely be staying again.

Review 118:Only thing I would have changed about my stay would have been the old TV set ,volume and pic quality wasn't great for watching Cheltenham races that was the reason I'm moaning about it..

Review 119:On arrivalThe greeting at reception by Leanne was so friendly n helpful to me as I was travelling alone and on check out the very same applied with Noreen 10/10

Review 120:Nice clean comfortable hotel man at reception pleasant and courteous breakfast good but waiterses brutal like zombies not pleasant bar food & bar staff pleasant reasonable hotel but needs tv reception sorted

Review 121:Staff were efficient but not very friendly (except housekeeper) Steam room was broken and pool was out of operation one day. Wifi signal was very weak at the end of the corridor on the 3rd floor.

Review 122:Breakfast omelette was excellent Housekeeping lady (3rd floor) was friendly and good

Review 123:Very rough service, staff sloppy. Didn't clean tables, no finesse whatsoever. Food was dire too for what they charged. Dirty glasses and cutlery. I refused to pay the bill. Staff were arrogant. Eg. Waitress even stood up on a chair and started cleaning the TV directly next to us whilst we were trying to have dinner. The manager is arrogant because when I complained he shrugged it off. No apology just a coldness and couldn't care attitude. I would never ever spend a cent in that restaurant - the worst in Tralee I'd say.

Review 124:Bed hard and hotel had a cold feel about it, temperature wise. Menus limited. Bar lacked a cozy feel about it.

Review 125:Staff very helpful. Rooms spacious. Leisure facilities ok. Very relaxing. Food excellent if limited.

Review 126:Kettle didnt work , no vending facillities to get bottled water etc room could use a little uplift

Review 127:hotel very clean , lovely friendly staff go out of there way to make you happy, swimming pool sauna and steam room very relaxing and child friendly and full beautiful breakfast with lots of options.. Evcellent value for money

Review 128:The reception folks we're extremely helpful about area information and provided prompt response to requests up to & including a plaster for a small cut as I was checking out. Pauline in reception was lovely. I hope I have remembered her name correctly.
