Reviews for Hotel Marina Piccola

Review 1:The lack of rugs in the room made it very cold in the winter time for us to walk around, some extra blankets would have been nice. The hotel's dog was super cute but barked a lot the one evening in the reception area which kept my mom up from her sleep.

Review 2:The location was excellent as well as the breakfast. Jessica the host was also very friendly and helpful.

Review 3:Very friendly staff, beautifully decorated and recently renovated little design hotel, great location a few meters away from Manarola's fishing port, great breakfast! Overall a very pleasant experience in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages of the 5 Terre. Highly recommendable!

Review 4:Lots of stairs

Review 5:Lovely location, near to restaurants. Due to an accident we couldn't get back to the hotel for our final night and when we went back next day for our belongings they were so kind and didn't charge us for our final night.

Review 6:Only thing that might be hard are the stairs up to your room but fine if you don't mind a little exercise :)

Review 7:Cannot fault this hotel at all. I loved my experience staying here. Perfect view, location, cleanliness, staff, rooms. Room I had was the top floor and I really felt at home. The breakfast included was amazing and the rooms have recently been renovated.

Review 8:The room was a little bit cold at night and we could have used an extra blanket

Review 9:The view was fantastic, worth paying extra for the quad room for the amazing view

Review 10:Superb room and amenities. Fantastic location on the marina and very helpful and courteous staff! Would definitely stay there when I visit next! Strongly recommended.

Review 11:No elevators and having to carry our luggage up to our room. We were on the top floor so that meant carrying the luggage five flights of stairs.

Review 12:Friendly attentive staff. Location was great. Modern styling.

Review 13:Few flies at breakfast...perhaps a bit more storage would have been good...shelf for toiletries in bathroom?

Review 14:Good location nice room reasonable amount of space - nice bathroom sea views

Review 15:If you are like my mother in law and an avid coffee drinker just note that there is not a coffee maker in you room.

Review 16:The setting is remarkable! It is very close to the Ocean in the most gorgeous city in Cinque Terre. My in laws had room number 9. It is slightly more expensive but has a balcony and a view of the ocean. I would recommend requesting this room. The breakfast is remarkable and the staff is very friendly. I can't forget to mention that the shower is to die for!!!!

Review 17:The hotel does not have an elevator and has quite steep stairs, we were on the 4th floor so I wouldn't recommend this for older or less able guests.

Review 18:The location was excellent and just what we wanted. This is a quieter village overall so we slept soundly every night but were so close to the other villages by train. Affordable yet had modern furnishings. The morning staff member was excellent, always smiling and freshly cooked whatever type of eggs we requested in the morning

Review 19:Had a little trouble with the Wi Fi in our room but it worked fine downstairs in the foyer.

Review 20:The location is excellent and great value for Money. The view from our room was great.

Review 21:The bathroom was not clean. Was disappointed considering the cost. Not a huge issue but didn't have a room with sea views, not recommended for people who are not willing to hike with all their luggage as you cannot park at the hotel, not so bad coming down the cliff but going back was killer

Review 22:Sweet little hotel, fantastic location, 2 minute walk to swimming, great views, staff was very friendly and helpful. The group seating for breakfast was great as was the food. I will go back again!

Review 23:It's about a mile walk from the nearest car parking lot, so pack accordingly. Better to take the train as it's a short walk to the station.

Review 24:A great lay-over spot for the Cinque Terre tour!

Review 25:Since our studio apartment located on the top floor, there are many steps to go up, a little bit difficult with our two big luggage. But it's totally worth it as the studio apartment is very comfortable!

Review 26:The best room we stayed throughout our trip across French and Italian villages. It was very modern, spacious, and has the "home sweet home" feel. We booked the room with the sea view that fits 4 people for not much more in difference in price than the room for 2 people and we got the whole top floor studio apartment! Breakfast was great too. The location of the hotel is on the main street of Manarola so very easy to find!

Review 27:Really would have loved to have a balcony, but didn't have one available for us. That would of been the icing on the cake. No laundry facilities.

Review 28:Really enjoyed our stay here.

Review 29:Need to change the sheet cover of bed at least every 2 days. We stayed for 3 nights , but didn't change at all for 3 nights.

Review 30:Kind front desk and breakfast serving with free for guests.

Review 31:Awesome hotel and great staff. Owners daughter was absolutely delightful....always more than happy to address any questions or provide assistance! We did check out all five Conque Terre villages and must say Manarola by far was the best. Only thing we would change....Ocean View! (Sadly this wasn't option when we booked) Would definitely return!

Review 32:Location is marvellous, right at the sea. Hotel is recently renovated, beautiful rooms, very good comfort. Breakfast is at one long table; very interesting to exchange with other guests about what to do, what walks they did etc. Hotel is managed by father and 2 daughters (at least that is who we met), all very friendly, enthusiastic and eager to help with any question you have.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Everything, we had a nice view of the ocean, it seems they remodeled the place and did a great job. Breakfast, wifi, amenities, staff help on things to do was superb. Will come again.

Review 35:We were not aware that we would have to drag suitcases of 5 flights of stairs as there is no elevator. The staff helped carry the suitcases, but I have a knee injury and had a difficult time going up and down 3 or 4 times a day.

Review 36:The location and view is wonderful. the hotel is very modern and clean.

Review 37:This cute boutique hotel is family run. Rooms are newly renovated in a very modern decor. The free breakfast were excellent. The room prices were very reasonable and we thought we got a great deal. We definitely want to come back and stay here again!

Review 38:The minibar was not working and completely empty. There is no black curtains, only a thin one, which is not enough to keep the sunlight out. There is no elevator, you have to carry your luggages to your floor. The receptionist does not speak english at all, it was very hard to communicate with him. The breakfast is very poor; there is one large table and everyone has breakfast at the same table. There was no bathroom slippers either. In general, it is an average hotel which has the potential to be much better, under good management.

Review 39:Location of the hotel is good. It is overlooking the sea, and the lady at the reception in the mornings was always very helpful.

Review 40:We were just lucky, being both 60 plus and not fitness fanatics, that we managed the many flights of steps to our room, in fact we improved our fitness due to the stairs - luckily we tried to get fit before embarking on our trip. Just warning other oldies.

Review 41:We were in to top room which was a double room with a balcony overlooking the street, as well as the ocean. Our view was breathtaking! Which made the many stairs we climbed carrying suitcases on arrival, well worth it. Reception spoke english and very warm and friendly. We had our best meal at the restaurant opposite hotel, and our best foccaccia at the take away place next door, sorry, cant recall their names. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, and it was nice to sit at one long table and meet the other guests.

Review 42:Staff could not speak English. Its a far walk down and up if you are not fit

Review 43:Pictures / location usually look great until u get there. Here was surprising. Location and view was better then what was shown on website!!

Review 44:Little noisy between rooms.

Review 45:The hotel was very modern. We stayed in room 7 with the most breathtaking view. I was able to sip wine and journal while gazing at the waves crashing in below. It is extremely close to the train station with a fantastic restaurant attached. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very kind. Our most recommended stop of our tour.

Review 46:The location of the hotel is great and easy to find from the train station. Walk through the tunnel and turn left, heading towards the sea. We had a Seaview room with balcony. Amazing views as so close to the water. We were in room 9 which had about 55 steps with no lift but the view was worth it. Manarola is a beautiful town and this hotel is the perfect place to stay.

Review 47:The hotel was in an excellent location - walking distance from the regional train stop at Manarola. Although it certainly had a local / rustic feel, it was also incredibly modern (with clean lines and newly remodeled finished, etc). Amisdt the centuries old town, it seemed like quite the juxtaposition. The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast every morning wonderful. The restaurant was equally amazing - spaguetti al nero was exquisite.

Review 48:The hotel is very noisy we were in room #7 and we heard our neighbours. We had to pay a "city tax" which was never mentionned when we booked our room. (3€ per personn)

Review 49:Manarola is à beautiful place, with à Beautiful Light and peaceful in March. The hotel is design and seems to à family holliday house.

Review 50:A small kettle for making hot water will be good. If the satellite tv works, it will be great!

Review 51:I love the location which is a 5 min from train station. It makes carrying 2 luggage easy. Hotel renovation was simple and chic and new!

Review 52:It rained while we were there and the paths were not accessible.

Review 53:The breakfast provided a fine start to the day with plenty of variety to meet our individual tastes.

Review 54:No lift.

Review 55:The hotel is close to both the railway station and sea shore. We stayed at the top floor room with a lovely balcony with sea view. Perfect for seeing sunset. The room is spacious with stylish design and furniture. Breakfast is good. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 56:1. the facilities might seem a little bit old. there are some ants in our room

Review 57:1. close to train station 2. room faces to the ocean 3. staff super helpful

Review 58:Lovely setting, quiet hotel, friendly staff at this family run hotel. We were there in November so the town of Manarola was not overrun with tourists.

Review 59:It was located with all windows on the street side therefore was very noisy. No mention when booking one has very little chance to bring luggage into the village.

Review 60:The room had good size including the bathroom. Modern decor was appealing.

Review 61:Shower was either too hot or too cold. I think its due to the old plumbing. Its right on the main drag so it can be a little noisy at night but thats the price you pay for a great location.

Review 62:Awesome location. Best of all the towns. Right by the water. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean room but it is a little dated. Great wifi.

Review 63:I stayed in the old building (they used two buildings for hotel) and the furniture was old. And I found some ants in the bathroom.

Review 64:The hotel was 5 min walk from the manarola station and just one building behind the marina. Considering the rough hills of the town, the location was perfect. The breakfast was nice - the cappuccino was great.

Review 65:The single room I was in was very dated. The bathroom was small and hot water very temperamental. No elevator.

Review 66:The hotel was very well located, roughly 100m to the waters edge (if that) and less than this to the trekking tracks. Next to no stairs between the train and the accommodation (about 5min walk). Beds are comfortable and wifi is available in both the lobby/breakfast room and in the bedrooms. Breakfast is AMAZING!!!! Good mix of cereals, pastries, breads, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and eggs. Excellent coffee.

Review 67:Female staff (family members) were gracious and hospitable. Male staff was cold and not welcoming or helpful.

Review 68:Top floor room had beautiful view and balcony but 66 stairs from lobby to room with no elevator or hand rail. We were glad we stayed there but would have been easier if we were younger.

Review 69:This place was all around lovely and quite modern in a tasteful way. The gals running the front desk(maybe they owned the place?) were very friendly and helpful and always there. The rooms were very clean and sleek and we had a partial view of the ocean. Front door opens to the busy little main street (just pedestrians!) so you can go anywhere and get good eating or walking. Breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip and would have loved to stay here a few more nights!! I would definitely come back and bring friends!!

Review 70:we loved everything. Close to the train station. Nice room with a fantastic sea view. Good breakfast..The staff was very helpful, mainly Micaella, the girl who was multitasking at the breakfast buffet. I could not forget to mention the cute dog that welcomed us at the reception...Thank you guys!!!!!

Review 71:Notthing

Review 72:The location is just the Best, the noises and the smell of the sea and the beautyful view of the rocky harbour from the balcony.. Very romantic! The staff is very kind and helpful, with good advises. Tracking lines are very lovely with stunning view of the whole coast and the mountaines around. It could be 4* easy!
