Reviews for Maol Reidh Hotel

Review 1:Have stayed here before and food was excellent. This time very disappointed as restaurant was closed and we had not been informed prior to arrival. Cooked breakfast on first day was not good. No wifi in rooms.

Review 2:Front of House staff friendly and welcoming. Beautiful location. Great shower. Large rooms. Comfortable beds. Free wifi [but only in the foyer]. Towels changed daily. Room very clean.

Review 3:Prepare for basic rooms - mine only had a blackout blind and no curtains and a skylight window, If you want a dark room to sleep you may need to ask specifically

Review 4:Location

Review 5:Room very cold discovered after first night window was broken so was not closing properly. Moved to another room and hot water did not work. Kept being told that both heating for room and water was on a timer

Review 6:Bed was comfortable and breakfast was nice

Review 7:No wifi in the room. Room a little tired.

Review 8:Great pub next door with excellent food. Good private parking. Good position to go walking in the national park.

Review 9:No curtains in our room, only a flimsy blind that let the a lot of light in-also a large skylight at the entrance to the room which let in lots of light-was not a major issue for us but would be for someone who wanted to sleep in. This room needs to be updated. Quite a lot of road noise in this room, and lots of noise from other room doors banging etc.

Review 10:All in all a nice stay. Very well appointed hotel to explore renvyle, great location next to Paddy Coyne's pub in Tully Cross. Probably one of the best locations in Connemara. Very friendly helpful staff, nice breakfast-more varied than standard "full irish" fair that you get on most hotels.

Review 11:Next door you is the best restaurant/pub we've seen so during our trip so far. Check the patio and big chance you'll hear great live-music.

Review 12:Clean but basic in need of a touch up but it did the job for us . Rained most of the time which is not the fault of the hotel

Review 13:Location was within reasonable distance of clifden kyle more abbey letter fraction and some nice beaches. ALSO RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO PADDY COYNES PUB which has excellent food ,staff and a fantastic atmosphere. I found a tremendous welcome from staff and locals alike

Review 14:Breakfast was average. The food in the restaurant was nice but heavily seasoned.

Review 15:Lovely country hotel. Right in the heart of the village. Friendly staff. Nice room. Pubs on either side of the hotel are very nice.

Review 16:From, 17 of July up to 19 we were hotel guests. The staff were notpolite. We complaining because our room was cold. They said we need waitthe timer settings, because later nothing has changed they called aserviceman, and he turned out that the radiator heating control wasbroken. We were two days without heating. Outside was cold, it wouldhave been a good warm room to arrive. On the last night we again speaksabout from this with a receptionist, she was very rude with us. It waslater revealed she was the owner!Feedback to the hotel: 5, feedback to the other staff: 3

Review 17:Suitable for a single employee was polite and helpful, her name is aine.We say thank you to her for everything. She had arranged for us littlemore than 13% preference for discomfort Feedback to aine : 10

Review 18:No wifi in the room, although advertised as "wifi in all areas" Ironically, the wifi from the pub next door has better reception in the triple room we stayed in.

Review 19:Tully cross is a small place, the hotel is situated in a good location close to various tourist spots such as kylemore abbey

Review 20:My mother is coeliac and was disappointed to find there were few options on the dinner menu for coeliacs. The staff members who were serving showed no empathy and made her feel like she was a nuisance. People need to realize the coeliac condition is a medical and not a lifestyle choice.

Review 21:Location of car park behind hotel was poorly sign posted.

Review 22:The food was absolutely excellent. The staff made us feel very welcome and were very helpful and friendly.

Review 23:loved the location of the hotel, the stunning surrounding countryside and lovely little beaches for walks, as well as being near so many wonderful places to visit.

Review 24:Very poor breakfast buffet and the ingredients of the full irish were of very poor quality. The sausages in particular left a terrible taste.

Review 25:Staff friendly & helpful at reception & breakfast room

Review 26:Noisy german party staying in thatched cottages nearby who ate in the Hotel.

Review 27:Situation is perfect for accessing Connemara, local beaches etc. The dinner we had was delicious and good value.

Review 28:Breakfast service was poor. Frequently guests had to help themselves to coffee and orders for hot food were very slow. Staff training needs to be looked at.

Review 29:Small hotel with personal touch

Review 30:At first we had to park in back because no parking was available but with luggage it is too cumbersome to enter through the rear and no one from the hotel had any helpful suggestions on this. Wifi did not work in our room - we had to go to the lounge. There were typos and misinformation about the food options. Our waste basket didn't open properly. When I showered, it flooded the bathroom although I closed the doors tightly.

Review 31:The hotel was a short ride from Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park.

Review 32:Staff were very kind and helpful. Our wet cycling clothes were dried for us and a very helpful receptionist moved our three bikes inside from the rain for the night.

Review 33:Room was tatty and cold. Rdaiator all full of rust taps around bath full of rust. View of a wall from one window and of a messy garden the other

Review 34:Staff friendly and very helpful

Review 35:The decor was a touch rough around the edges.

Review 36:Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was lovely and clean, and was situated in almost the perfect place for me.

Review 39:No complaints

Review 40:The room we were given had wonderful mountain views and was spotlessly clean. The hotel is convenient to local pubs and very quiet. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 41:Room looked out onto central well, so no view of the beautiful surroundings. Parking rather limited - just a few spaces in front of the hotel and adjoining properties.

Review 42:Very friendly helpful staff. Large comfortable room. Everything very clean. Bath, not just shower.Good food, reasonably priced wines. Good Wifi in room. Situated in magnificent mountain and coastal scenery. Great breakfast pancakes.

Review 43:Poor wifi connection. It works good in the restaurant and lobby.

Review 44:Friendly staff. Good breakfast with good selection of cooked breakfast options. Excellent food in the restaurant. Tip: the pub next door (out the door to the right) is a nice place for a drink.

Review 45:A very peculiar smell in a bedroom. This led to a lot of discomfort

Review 46:The location is excellent. Décor very pleasant. We had a very enjoyable dinner in the dining room, and the kitchen staff went out of their way to please.

Review 47:Unfortunately there is limited parking at the Hotel and we found it difficult to park after a day touring around. Maybe there should be assigned parking for Hotel guests.

Review 48:We booked two nights at this hotel after passing it earlier in the week and we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The room assigned to us was clean and very comfortable and the food is the restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. I can't fault this hotel in any way and if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break in the heart of Connemara then book this hotel. We look forward to our next visit.

Review 53:The hotel is located in a very charming village, close to breathtaking Connemara views. There is also a restaurant in the hotel, which is good. This place is not so expensive and very nice.

Review 54:Having been impressed with my initial overall impression of the Hotel, the room was disappointing - it felt like a lot of attention to the public areas was not carried through into the room. Biggest gripes, the bathroom looked unloved and the the TV volume was fixed at far too low a level

Review 55:The location is very good and the overall presentation of the hotel is very good

Review 56:Good food, 2 course set dinner menu lovely with a glass of wine as complementary to residents. Nicely cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Beautiful scenery with Connemara ponies grazing just up the road.
