Reviews for Da Paulin
Review 1:Bed was actually two pieces, but that was not a huge deal. There is NO ocean view in ANY of the rooms, just so you know.
Review 2:Loved the location and the sweetness of the staff. We got there wayyyyyy past the 'checkin' time and the host was still nice enough to wake up (it was very late) and let us in. Great shower and view of the town and hill. Great town! We will be back!
Review 3:Feeling a bit stress that the owner seems like a very strong eco-awareness person. The remote control of the ac is kept by the owner. He allowed us to use it after we told him it was chill at the first night.
Review 4:Location. Everything is so new in the room, looks like the owner has just renovated the accommodation. Most importantly there's a/c installed in the room which we're able to use to keep the room warm at night. It looks like a norm in Italy B&B that they don't turn their heating on during late Oct when the weather has already turned cold.
Review 5:Lights were regulated by the key in the slot. When my husband left for photos or groceries, I was left totally in the dark. Bathroom light went on every time you entered and fan and light stayed until the timer went off. Very annoying!!
Review 6:Helpfulness of Donatello and her spouse. We had some difficulty with a car rental and a native Italian, like her husband helped us solve the problem.
Review 7:No washing machines anywhere in the town. The owners did not advertisethat there was, but that would make this Heaven on Earth.
Review 8:Everything! Celebrating our 30th anniversary and the owners gave us abottle of Lemoncino when we arrived. We also left something in theapartment and the owner found us on the street to return it.
Review 9:We didn't have any bad experiences at Da Paulin.
Review 10:Great room in a lovely part of Italy. The hotel is in a great location - only a minute from the harbour & restaurants. The owner was lovely and very helpful - he even gave us a lemon from his tree!
Review 11:Booked one night, asked for second. Host said ok, but after a few hours it appeared to be fully booked. Was a bit upset to leave this place after just one night :)
Review 12:Great host, perfect location right in Manarola. Very nice place and comfortable room. I can't point something I liked, I liked literally everything.
Review 13:No breakfast being available - however we knew this when booking, but there are some cafes in the main street where you can get something to eat.
Review 14:Great location, quiet, clean and the owners are so welcoming and friendly. If you want to stay in Cinque Terre, then Da Paulin in Manarola is the perfect choice. It was wonderful staying in the village after the big groups of tourists had left.
Review 15:Didn't have air con so could get hot during summer. ( Fan provided was next to useless). Shower cubicle very small.
Review 16:Convenient and comfortable room in a good location Host very welcoming. Serviced with fresh linen every day. Bed was comfortable
Review 17:We were greeted very nicely by our hosts Geraldo y Donnatella, much before check in so we could leave our bags and start enjoying our vacation in Cinque Terre. The room was modern, beautiful, clean, comfortable with everything we needed. The location perfect, the grounds impeccably maintained. Very lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful with advise and recommendations.
Review 18:Not being able to stay longer
Review 19:Could not fault anything about this splendid B & B in the beautiful village of Manarola. Our room was clean, quiet & perfectly located along the main thoroughfare. Our hosts were incredibly helpful & welcoming.
Review 20:The hotel is easy to find and close to the train station and delicious restaurants as well as the sea. The room has windows that open up to a gorgeous view of the town and the vineyard covered hills. Our host allowed us to check in early with no notice and offered us helpful information about the hotel and the area. One night we sat out on the veranda and had wine and snacks. It was dark and we noticed a little lantern but we didn't have a lighter. So we were sitting in the dark when our host appeared with a lighter, lit our candle for us, and disappeared back into the hotel. We just loved our entire stay here!
Review 21:Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by our host who was very accommodating and escorted us to our apartment which was just far enough away from the tourist flow. The accommodation was clean and basic (although smelt of insect spray).
Review 22:Bed was a little firm but I realize now that this is common in Italy in general.
Review 23:The quiet sleepy Manarola was perfect for what we wanted in our visit to Cinque Terre. After visiting all the other towns during our trip we were so pleased with our selection. The room was large and had all the amenities we needed. Great service at a reasonable price.
Review 24:The place is located on the upper hill of Manarola and it overlooks lemon trees and the bell tower. The balcony is huge and wraps around the apartment where there was a clothes line, which if you're backpacking is awesome. We sat on the balcony and drank wine... Just the cutest set up. Donatella greets you with limoncello shots! The place is renovated on the inside with a wonderful floor plan with lots of space and huge balcony doors that open up! The bathroom was wonderfully designed. Easily one of the best spots we stayed in our two weeks throughout Europe. Enough cannot be said about how wonderful this place was. We will easily be looking to return when when go back!
Review 25:Poor showers - second morning we were there the water was FREEZING and I was unable to shower. The paper thin walls and floor meant we heard absolutely everything from our neighbors above - use your imagination.
Review 26:Good location in Manarola, owners were friendly.
Review 27:The beds could be a little bit softer, again, this is more personal preference. Wifi could be stronger, as there were pts in time we were getting dropped or it was slow. Finally, if you are travelling with big luggage... I would just caution. As there are quite a bit of stairs and the road to the hotel can be quite steep and thus challenging with lots of luggage.
Review 28:Manarola itself is a nice location among the cinque terre area. DA Paulin was central and what I loved about the place was the ambiance, and also they made excellent recommendations on where to eat. The couple that ran that place made us feel at home.
Review 29:Wifi was a little slow / patchy...
Review 30:We had a lovely stay in Manarola. Da Paulin was in a good location - a shortish walk up the hill from the Manarola train station. The road is steep but not too hard with wheels on the suitcases! The owners were lovely to us - they helped is take our heavy luggage up the stairs to the front door and made us feel very welcome with some treats for our honeymoon. The place was clean and modern inside. We needed to do a load of washing after travelling for a while and they let us do a load in their machine and hang it on their line outside which was much appreciated! It's just a short walk down the hill to the restaurants, Shops and marina. Some great coffee and pastries to be eaten in the mornings! Would definitely recommend this place to others.
Review 31:This place was great- new, clean, big room a balcony with a great view and the friendliest people run it and will make you feel very comfortable and right at home! Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Review 32:The wifi was hit and miss. If they address this, there would be no negative reviews here. *Note about the town. In Manarola, there is a bell tower that starts going off at 7am, then at the half hour, and on every hour... Don't plan on sleeping in. :)
Review 33:I really enjoyed this location and the updated, modern room with balcony. Not a far walk up the hill from the train exit. Many other places are much farther.
Review 34:No breakfast available which may not suit some, however host directed us to lovely cafe in the village for an excellent breakfast and a 10% off voucher.
Review 35:Excellent location for Manarola, Lovely modern room with all modern facilities, in villa right in the town. Host was friendly, and very helpful. Room had tea and coffee making facilities, plus fridge. Would highly recommend.
Review 36:Manarola has church bells that ring every hour starting at 6am-6 bells, 6:30 2 bells, 7am 7 bells etc. very very loud. Last one at 11pm.
Review 37:It was near perfect, we are very happy with our choice, evenings are beautiful and quite perfect for for sitting out on the balcony with a bottle of wine.
Review 38:No breakfast option, hard to close shutters at night and cleaner left windows open during the day.
Review 39:Friendly welcome even though we arrived early our room was ready! Great location just uphill from Manarola station. Room was a decent size, wifi fast.
Review 40:- Room safe was very small - Bathroom/shower somewhat small and little room to store toiletries.
Review 41:+ Location. Quick and easy to train station, ferry boat. Shops, food and wine shops nearby, restaurants close. + Cleanliness + Helpful staff. Emphasis on making your stay as comfortable as possible. + Check in quick. Host Eraldo very helpful. + Wifi connection good. + comfortable bed. + Room was large enough for 2 lg luggage storage. + Air con available but we chose not to use it. + Flat screen tv, fridge + nice view
Review 42:The town Manarola is too small. Can be visited on one day. Price versus quality room is high (priced)
Review 43:The owner, Eraldo, greets you at the door, full of useful info. The room is a good sized, clean, small but clean bathroom and minibar included.
Review 44:Weak wi-fi signal, expensive price, kitchen could be better equipped. I know it's an apartment, not a hotel, but I wish we had more than one towel per person, and I also wished for a shower gel/shampoo, too.
Review 45:Fantastic view on Manarola, both the village and the harbor. Quiet during the night. Spacious, well furnished apartment. Come for the view and the atmosphere of Cinque Terre, which is hard to beat. One of my favorite places.
Review 46:Location is up the street away from the main foot traffic, the room was clean and modern, our room had the outside balcony overlooking the street which gave us the option to sit outside, the host is very nice and very helpful. Manarola is a lovely relaxing village.
Review 47:Because of the limited access for cars time for arrival and leaving has to be planned if you want to avoid taking the luggage up or down the pretty steep road to the parking area by feet.
Review 48:Perfect location for exploring the Cinque Terre. The hosts Donatella and Eraldo spoke very well English, were service minded and informative. As they know the village and the whole area very well, their recommendations were important. It was interesting listening to what they told about nature, growing lemons, culture, religious traditions etc. Even if we had windows to the main road it was silent all day and night due to the limited access for cars. We appreciated and enjoyed the days at Da Paulin.
Review 49:The hard bed and flat pillows left us feeling not quite refreshed in the morning.
Review 50:The hosts were lovely and we loved staying in Manarola. The view of the sea and village was great.
Review 51:We struggled to get a strong wifi signal but that might be the nature of the terrain, and really we should have been escaping these trappings from home/work so this helped.
Review 52:Eraldo & Donatella provide a wonderful small block of boutique apartments. They appear to have been recently renovated, they were clean and quiet. We stowed our larger suitcases at Pisa train station and only took with us what we needed so the hill was not a problem. Donatella even very kindly booked us a table at the Trattoria dal Billy for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our too brief stay.
Review 53:The lodging was very comfortable and convenient to the quaint town and beautiful sights.
Review 54:The bed squeaked.
Review 55:The hosts were v friendly.

Review 74:Location was great. Attention to details, clean, just perfect.
Review 75:Poor/loud air-conditioner. Flimsy feel to bed.
Review 76:Great location. lovely view, clean.
Review 77:- nice staff - beautiful place - the homemade limoncello - clean - beautiful surroundings
Review 78:The building does not have a sea view - but great territorial views and a garden across the street. Didn't miss the sea view because we were barely in the room.
Review 79:This place was fabulous. Loved the room. Very clean. Had a balcony and really good AC. The owner met us right away when we arrived and gave us lots of local tips about the trails here.
Review 80:It was really enjoyable stay at unforgettable Manarola thanks to this cozy place and its owners Eraldo and Donatella. We had nice Rosa di Mare room with sea view - with panorama of Corniglia and Monterosso on the horizon. The room is furnished with comfortable furniture and bathroom is convenient and clean. The perfect combination of price and quality. We will be happy to visit Da Paulin again and will recommend it to our friends.
Review 81:exceptionally clean room and facilities were great at this very friendly little guest house. just perfect location for visiting the cinque terre. manarola is good place to stay and da paulins good location . not far at all from train station and the owners have good links with the local food places. so aristides breakfast place comes highly recomended. Review 89:Da Paulin is an amazing little accommodation in the lovely little village of Manarola in Cinque Terre. Our room was very clean as well as nice and cozy and we had a big balcony to look at the breathtaking views. The owner is a wonderful person who will make you feel at home. He will give you tips about anything from the weather next day to the best restaurants around when asked. I highly recommend this place for people who don't like big hotel chains with little characteristics and who want to feel more at home when they are traveling.

Review 95:Nothing...room rate was valued at the quality it provided.
Review 96:Very friendly supportive staff who were efficient and required minimal from us so we could make the most of the holiday. Appartment was very clean, with good facilities (enjoyed the tea and coffee making and fridge) and off a quiet street with a sea view.
Review 97:Nothing.
Review 98:The host was very accommodating, room was nice and clean and we had such a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. Manarola was my favorite town out of the 5, very quaint and not very many tourists everywhere. The hotel room was great. Not over the top, but definitely not dumpy.
