Review 1：Excellent location, just outside the Bevagna town wall. Excellent, secure parking. Comfortable rooms with cooking facilities. Sauna, large spa and swimming pool all on site, free, and in excellent condition. Great breakfast choices, including your own coffee capsule machine. Michael is a great host, and is very helpful in arranging wine and olive oil tasting opportunities. He has a good grasp of English. The associated Mura restaurant has an excellent, good value Umbrian menu, and good wine selection. Our week here was like a home away from home.

Review 2：The location just outside the "town gate" meant it was close to the sights and restaurants. Our room had a separate sitting area and was spacious. A great base for touring the area.

Review 3：We had a wonderful stay in Residenza Porta Guelfa. The location is superb, the rooms are really more like small apartments with plenty of space and there are all the facilities you could need / want. But what really added to our time there was the kindness and hospitality of Michele (the owner) and his wife- they constantly went above and beyond and treated us as though we were friends staying with them. We can't wait to go back.

Review 8：We have spent two weeks in the hotel. Actually, we had two room apartment in a separate building together with small private terrace/garden. The place was extremely comfortable for us - also for our dog, who spent fantastic holidays there;-) There is large, very nice garden which was very important for our dog. The owners - Michele and Maria wery extremely friendly and helpful - they made our stay very enjoyable. The localization of the hotel is very good - on the outskirts of nice town with choice of restaurants. On the other hand - Bevagna is in the middle of Umbria so most of interesting places to visit is in range of half-day trip.

There was also a relaxing lounge/dining area. Breakfast was served in our room every morning with a smile from our exceptionally friendly host.

It is mainly fenced so our dog was able to run and play. Our suite was perfect--very clean and comfortable. Super close to Bevagna so we could easily walk into town. Wonderful hotel!

Good pool, clean and large enough to enjoy. Very near the town of Bevagna. Friendly staff. We looked around and for this value we got a price that would have cost much more at a four star hotel.

Review 19：The staff, especially Michael were so welcoming as other reviewers mentioned. We liked being able to cook a small meal the night it rained. The bed was very comfortable and the bath a generous size. We had absolutely no complaints. It's not in the heart of town , but it's Bevagna, it's so small it was a very short walk, or ride in our case, in to the center.One of our best accommodations in italy for the past month.

The villa is located perfectly for bus travel directly into the walled city and to and from the train station. The apartment is just fantastic - beautifully appointed - everything you need to help you prepare a great Tuscan meal!!! We will be back!!!

Located near Bevagna and a shirt walk from the historic section of Bevagna, where you can find several cappuccino shops, a pasta shop, grocery stores, fresh fruit stands, a variety of other shops and restaurants. The staff were all friendly and helpful and ready with a smile and a chat to make sure everything was to your satisfaction. The rooms were beautifully furnished and gave us plenty of space to move around... A small kitchenette with two burners, a bar fridge, kettle, espresso maker, toaster over and a sink. (We were told to leave our dishes and they would be cleaned in the mornings!). The grounds were well kept and beautiful and the pool provided a good way to cool off after catching some sun if you were tired from exploring...

Review 29：Everything!! Miguel met us with warmth at the gate, took my bag to the room and then respectfully left us to enjoy the beautiful place. There are windows from every aspect opening onto fields of sunflowers and ruling hills. Umbria was green and beautiful and so many ancient towns dot the countryside. The rooms were huge and comfortable and the furniture quite grand. The bathroom was gorgeous in a local marble. I could not fault the place and was really sad to leave. It's the perfect place to write one's memoirs!

Review 62：Breakfast is in your room so the first day we washed everything up, but then realized they do that for you. The coffee machine only made a finger of coffee, and we prefer it longer; once we boiled water to make a "lungho" it was perfect. So really, nothing we didn't like!

Review 63：We stayed 4 nights - my husband and I and our two kids (7 & 10) and my parents (70& 80) who flew in to meet us. The rooms were beautiful, everything worked perfectly (including internet). You're right next to Bevagna, which is a gorgeous town on it's own, and can walk to several restaurants there. It's also central; we went to Spello, Spoleto, Assisi, and Trevi during our stay; all easy drives. The pool is lovely; it was a bit cold to swim but the kids went in a couple minutes, and we all loved the huge yard. It was our first time in Umbria and the host was so warm, welcoming, available, and full of information. We would go back!

Review 64：Bring earplugs if you are used to sleeping in absolute silence, there can be occasional cars passing by early in the morning (but I am particularly sensitive, my wife had no problems whatsoever).

Review 67：One of the reasons we chose the hotel was the wi-fi in the room. It never worked for us, despite mentioning the situation to the staff. That was pretty dissapointing. The breakfast was pretty basic. The playground for the kids was minimal. It shouldn't be much of an expense to get a bigger one.

Review 69：This property, just outside the old city walls of Bevagne, is a perfect location from which to explore most of the heart of Umbria. While we were only here two nights, one could easily stay a week, venturing out each day to a different set of small towns. The rooms are excellent, and the kitchen facilities great. One could easily cook here and store things for lunches. The owner is exceptionally helpful and will do everything possible to make your stay perfect.

The local atmosphere,away from tourist trap make this place more special! We also used the facility of free bike to go cycling to Assisi and it was very pleasant ride.although next time we would like to cycle further to other villages and it looks like proper mountain bike would be needed.Michael informed us that proper mountain bike could be rented from Perugia and they would deliver to Bevagna. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi was very nice touch,after long day on the bike! :-)) Breakfast was delivered to our apartment on time and it was fresh local product...very delicious!! Review 78：The road that the house is on is not particularly attractive (thoughnot too busy) and at the moment there's a new house being built justopposite so it's a building site. However, the garden that ResidenzaPorta Guelfa is set in is very nice and you don't really see theroad from it.We were very lucky to have our own private balcony but I think some of the ground floor rooms did not have one, so it's worth asking for one of the upstairs rooms with its own balcony when booking. I'd like to come back here.

Review 79：We loved staying here as it turned out to be a little apartment with abedroom and a living room with a kitchenette area. We also had our ownlittle balcony which was lovely. Breakfast is brought to you in theapartment at whatever time you ask for it and we used it to have it onour balcony every morning.The owner of the hotel was charming and friendly and ready to help in any way he could and his English was good too. The pool was inviting and set in a nice, amazingly green garden. It was a popular place for families but we are a middle-aged couple and it was just as suitable for us. The hotel is set just outside the walls of the pretty medieval town of Bevagna which is less than 5 minutes walk away. There are bicycles you can borrow at will to explore the area and, unusually, Bevagna itself is on the flat so it's easy to bike around. This area of Umbria is really beautiful with breathtaking panoramic views everywhere you go. Lots of interesting and lovely places to visit like Montefalco, Spello, Spoleto and of course Assisi and Perugia. Bevagna is full of nice eating places too and is a real place with real Italians living there, whereas some of the local towns (such as Assisi) are fabulous, but entirely composed of tourists/visitors.

Review 81：My new husband and I stayed in Residenza Porta Guelfa during the secondweek of our two week honeymoon in Italy and found everything about theplace just perfect! It was an ideal setting, beautiful area and gorgeousmanicured gardens around the buildings and swimming pool. It was aperfect venue to relax in, to spend a few days lying around the pool -and also a perfect base to explore the region from. We visited Spello,Assisi and Perugia while staying in rpg. And the little town of Bevangais really lovely too. We were happy to stroll up there every evening todiscover more of the town's delicious restuarants. Michael our host inrpg is a great man to have on hand. He made every guest feel so welcomeand invited us to use all and any of the facilities available. And norequest we made was left unanswered or unattended to. I was genuinelysad to say good bye to him and to the the area at the end of our weekthere. While we are a couple, there was also families staying there withyoung children, some with teenagers and some older couples too - and Iwould imagine that it was as ideally suited to all the others as it wasto us. O and our room had a four poster bed!! And you get a freshlyprepared breakfast delivered to your room every morning - oh and it wasnot just a room - more like an apartment, with a separate sitting roomand kitchen with all you might need on a holiday - a fridge, grill, hob,kettle and bottle opener! If you like exploring new places, relaxing,enjoy the bestest of food and wine - you can not go wrong staying here.I would recommend it 100%!

Michele met us atthe gate of this exclusive compound & very proudly showed us to & aroundour room (more like appartment!). Eveything about rpg is perfect, lawnsare manicured & not a thing out of place & rooms are immaculate. Our standard suite(with well-equipped kitchenette) was comfortable and very clean. Theowner, Michele, was extremely friendly and helpful. He is a warm, engaging man who went outof his way to make sure we were accommodated beyond our expectations.This included personally delivering breakfast to our room. Review 86：Very friendly staff, big comfortable appartment and nice breakfast in the room. Bicycles are available (there is a very nice cycling lane all the way to Spoletto). The location is quiet, but in one minute you are in the centre of Bevagna.

Review 87：This is a great place to stay in a pretty Umbrian town that makes a great base for a few days. The Residenza is a short walk to the city gates, and has a secure car space for your car if you're driving around Umbria. Michele, the owner, couldn't have been friendlier and his ease and hospitality really made our 3 nights there very relaxed and pleasant. The rooms were very comfortable, the sofa bed excellent and the cooking facilities just right for cooking a light meal. Breakfast was delicious and served in the rooms. The spa was lovely, too.
