Reviews for Ca' D'Andrean
Review 1:We didn't have the breakfast, but that's our fault since we had to leave the hotel before 6AM to catch the train from La Spezia to Milano Centrale. There's no lift, but the staff were more than helpful with our luggage and the hotel has two entrances, conveniently located for loading/unloading.
Review 2:Manarola is beautiful! It's from a postcard, seriously. This was the best hotel we stayed at since it's so futuristic and high-tech from the inside, but plain looking externally. Nicolai and Simone were very helpful and allowed us to use their printer for our tickets and called us a taxi too, who was very punctual! This hotel had the largest washroom on our trip, and it was reminiscent of a spa treatment. It's also situated close to the entrance to the town and to the tunnel that leads to the train station. I highly recommend it!
Review 3:There was no variation for the breakfast selection. It was always croissant, pastry and bread rolls.
Review 4:We loved the location, style and cleanliness of our hotel. From our window we had a view of the vineyards in the mountain terraces. Our host ,Simone' ,served our breakfast and was always checking if required anymore coffee or tea. Excellent service.
Review 5:The interior decoration is awesome! Could easily have been a design hotel. Much better in reality than on the photos! Wonderful breakfast with local and fresh pastries
Review 6:Walls are extremely thin. We could hear a Skype call across the landing that the people in the room opposite were in! Doors banging either kept us up or woke us up. We had breakfast inside which wasn't as pretty as the lemon tree garden that sold me this hotel in the first instance!
Review 7:Good location. Wifi. Super recommendation to eat at trattoria Billy. Great shower!
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Great Location. Manarola's people are obviously proud of their history. The town is small and quiet. The hotel was great. Simon and his father were gracious and accommodating. The facility is excellent. The design and decorating is way above most. Breakfast was very good. Great value.
Review 10:Sink doesn't stopper up if you want to wash your clothes- not much of a concern though.
Review 11:Excellent location and really easy to access relative to Cinque Terra, being just up a hill 8 minutes from the Manarola station. Simon and his father were wonderful hosts. The room was spacious and immaculately clean. Contemporary yet Mediterranean at the same time, true to the pictures online. We weren't charged for breakfast (fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, OJ and coffee). I appreciated the heated towel rack for drying hand-washed clothes after our hikes and excursions. Simon also helped us book dinner at Trattoria Billy. We had the best spot on the patio, I suspect with Simon's influence, since both my name and the hotel name were written on the RSVP table marker.
Review 12:My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Ca' D'Andrean. The owner was so friendly and provided us with tips, and offered to hold our luggage the day we checked out so we could do some extra hiking. The rooms are so nice! The bathroom is huge, and the shower was the best we came across in our travels around Italy. Honestly, I wish I could live here!!!!! When we come back to Cinque Terre, we will definitely stay here again and again.
Review 13:The locating was awesome, the rooms were amazing! Very modern and super clean and the crew there were very helpful. We could leave our bags there for the day while they were getting our room ready. Fantastic!!
Review 14:There is a steep walk up from the station which, in hot weather with luggage, was not fantastic.
Review 15:The room was freshly renovated and there was a huge, modern bathroom. It was air conditioned which was vital given the hot weather. Breakfast in the citrus grove was a bonus.
Review 16:The breakfast was set in the lemon garden. choices were so limited. the location was at the end of the street up on the hill. not recommended for someone with big luggage, as you have to climb up a steep (very) hill to reach the hotel.
Review 17:the room is so big, we even had a balcony overlooking the small houses on the hill. room was newly renovated and its so clean and modern. would love to extend my stay if time allowed. its a short walk of 5 mins to the train station and 10 mins walk to the beach.
Review 18:If you arrive like we by car there is a parking place which cost you 1.50 EUR/h from 8am till 8pm (lots of coins needed) followed by a 500m downhill walk which you need to walk up again to reach your car. No package service, local bus transportation with unknown schedule.
Review 19:Owner and hotel staff very friendly Newly renovated Breakfast outside under lemon and grape trees Very near if you arrive by train or ship Restaurant da Billy!!!!!!!best in town!!!!
Review 20:It's not so much a dislike but the hotel is at the top of a hill so be prepared for a climb everyday. Great way to work off the pasta!
Review 21:This hotel is fantastic! Great location in Manarola - not too touristy and so easy to catch the train to the nearby villages. The staff are so accommodating and the rooms are beautiful, clean and modern. There's a beautiful fruit garden where you eat breakfast everyday or can sit and relax. We miss it already.
Review 22:Great location a few minutes walk from car park, train station, shops, restaurants and coast. Our favourite part of our stay was sitting on the balcony with wonderful views. Our room and bathroom were beautifully designed and the level of cleanliness was impeccable.
Review 23:Check in was very average, we weren't welcomed with open arms :/ the man who checked us in (the owner I think) said about 3 words to us "passports!" "This way!". Only other thing was our room was very noisy in the morning. Echoing hallways.
Review 24:Good location and nice modern rooms.
Review 25:Breakfast under the lemon trees was lovely. The owner was very friendly. The location is great as near the car park at top of the town as you can't take the car in. 3 mins walk down to he centre of town. Manarola is beautiful.
Review 26:That I had to leave.
Review 27:The staff was friendly, helpful, kind. The room was the largest I have ever had in Europe. Rain shower. Scenery stunning. The hotel has a beautiful garden with lemon trees all around. Breakfast served in garden and drinks in the afternoon.
Review 28:Nothing at all.
Review 29:The hotel and rooms are newly-renovated and it is very modern and stylish. The rain shower was excellent. Views towards the mountain-side is spectacular. Breakfast was good, but could benefit by addition of a selection of fruit and different kinds of bread. The owner and staff were very friendly and attentive to customers needs. We highly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Manarola.
Review 30:Mode
Review 31:The location is great, the bathrooms are impeccable and the staff was outstanding helping us everything (and going above and beyond to help us print some last minute tickets!!)
Review 32:Our first stop in Italy could not have been better. Simone and staff were very cordial and made sure we were well taken care of. Great coffee and conversation.
Review 33:Because we stayed during Easter weekend, so the price was very high. Although the hotel is only less than 500m from train station, but you have to hike up the hill (but at least, it's not steps).
Review 34:The room is newly renovated (i think), especially bathroom. Very clean and comfort. Coffee during breakfast is great!
Review 35:Be careful with parking in this area, police specially hunting for tourist who do not go to city and left car to find hotel between 2 barrier. You could directly drive to hotel and left or pick up your luggage on special hours between 2-4 p.m. and till 10 a.m.
Review 36:Great breakfast, very style decorate rooms and beautiful garden
Review 37:Simone and Marios (son and father team) are the most accommodating and charming hosts you can imagine. They are so happy to please and help you out you feel like you are staying with friends - it is just so lovely. We woke up late for breakfast every day but they were always happy to sort it all out for us. The rooms are also decorated to a lovely modern standard and are super clean. They also have a lovely lovely lemon orchard were you can sit outside and have breakfast or a drink.
Review 38:Our bed was two twins pushed together. One was great, the other was worn out and uncomfortable. Our room was right above the breakfast room and the banging to get coffe grounds out of the filter wakes you up. The coffee is great!
Review 39:The garden is wonderful and very relaxing for breakfast, reading, or drinks.
Review 40:No complaints!
Review 41:Simone is a great host! We loved his fresh croissants and delicious cappichinos! Hotel location was perfect for us. We would definitely stay there again .
Review 42:This is a great place, very clean and recently remodeled. I woke up each morning to the smell of the staff baking our breakfast rolls. Also Manarole is a nice town, picturesque and convenient to everything.
Review 43:Leaving...
Review 44:We loved Ca d'Andrean when we first stayed there 10 years ago, but loved it even more this time! Staff is kind and friendly, setting is delightful, decor is perfect for a beach inn. We had hoped for a room with terrace, but all were taken, so we were given a room upstairs with a view of the sweet, lemon-tree-filled garden and the beautiful pastel houses of Manarola--and we could not have been more content.
Review 45:We enjoyed staying here 10 years ago..but had forgotten how truly lovely and special this place is. We had hoped for a terrace room, but none were available, so we were given an upstairs room that overlooked the beautiful garden, and we could not have been happier. We really did not want to leave after 3 nights!
Review 46:It is not the cheapest option, but the rooms and the balcony justified the price.
Review 47:I was able to book a room at the last minute and check-in early after an unexpected change to travel plans. Staff were very friendly and rooms were very nice. My room even had a balcony overlooking Manarola!
Review 48:Perfect hotel for a trip to Cinque. The staff was very helpful, nearly all rooms were recently renovated, we had a deck overlooking the town we stayed in (Manorola). Very fairly priced - great bang for the bunk given what we paid throughout the rest of our stay in Italy. Would recommend to anyone - flying solo, couples, families, etc.
Review 49:We did not stay longer.
Review 50:The host was wonderful. He shared the history of the hotel and his family. The room was very comfortable. The location is just a one minute walk from the main restaurants and shops, yet the area was quiet. Beware of Manarola; you will fall in love with it!
Review 51:Breakfast is quite meager
Review 52:Newly renovated rooms are very comfortable and well decorated. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We'll located in beautiful village. Can be a bit tricky to get to with older or those not completely fit.
Review 53:That we didn't stay more days in this beautiful hotel.
Review 54:Loved the location - right in Cinque Terre, and pretty close to the train station, but up a slight bit from the busiest of the tourist traffic in the town. Also loved the spacious modern room... felt like spending the night at the spa. Very good value for your money.
Review 55:Location at the quiet end of the Main Street Attentive manager New and modern rooms with good a/c and bathrooms Outdoor garden breakfast was a highlight
Review 56:Beautiful location and great accommodations. Very modern inside with all the comforts you might want. The owner was incredibly kind and offered a great breakfast and assistance with anything we might need during our stay. Would absolutely stay there again.
Review 57:The bed was not the most comfortable.
Review 58:Loved the garden where we were served breakfast each morning as we sat beneath the lemon trees and among the beautiful flowers. Super clean and excellent location for our visit to this area.
Review 59:The trek to the hotel with baggage from the top gate if you don't arrive before 4pm. Not funny in motorbike gear and temperatures in the late 20s! If you can't find parking on the road at the top, you also have to pay 2 euros per hour until 8pm & then again from 8am. It's free overnight as long as you get up there at 8am to move your car/bike. This could all be made clearer to you when booking. You can at least access the village by vehicle 6am-10am & 2pm-4pm so plan around this. It's not too bad downhill but a trek back uphill! At least make sure you have wheelie bags. Breakfast OK, a bit sparse but not out of the ordinary for Italy.
Review 60:Great, characterful location, right in the middle of the village with great views from balconies on upper floor. Room with windows on two sides, nice & airy. Quiet night's sleep. Surprisingly good decor: modern & spotless, not what we expected in a small town like this. Good, free wifi. Breakfast served in lovely garden.
Review 61:Maybe some carpet in the bedrooms would soften the room.
Review 62:Great location in a beautiful town. Breakfast in the lemon grove garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Newly renovated room. Highly recommended.
Review 63:Breakfasts were great but the best was the lovely lemon "grove" where we enjoyed many relaxing times after hiking the lovely trails (which started, conveniently right across the street!)
Review 64:Better to communicate by email, had trouble conversing in English when confirming our reservation by phone.
Review 65:We had one of the larger rooms with a great outdoor deck area for relaxing. Centrally located, just a short walk uphill from train station, also, you must pass by hotel when taking the lovely hike around the town along the vineyards. Nice breakfast, on warm days, you can enjoy it under the lemon trees.
Review 66:Nice quiet location, excellent staff assistance, great view from room.
Review 67:It was silence and relaxing
Review 68:Great boutique hotel. Owner was delightful. Breakfast was simple but yummy. Manarola is outstanding. Quaint village, great hiking.
Review 69:A lovely hotel! The staff was really friendly and gave advice on both restaurants and hiking trails. I would go back any time!
Review 70:Wish there was a lobby to seat after office hours.
Review 71:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness of hotel and room.
Review 72:Freshly baked pastries in the morning.
Review 73:The warm welcome and lovely helpful staff. Sitting under the lemon tress eating our delicious breakfast. Would love to go back and stay longer.
Review 74:Breakfast amongst the lemon trees and the central location.
Review 75:Bathroom was spacious, modern, and very clean. Service was great. Breakfast was unique with a variety of pastries and was served out in the garden.
Review 76:None
Review 77:Beautiful place, great location...highly recommended!
Review 78:The staff, the location, the room!
Review 79:Nothing significant
Review 80:Located in Manarola, good combination of being in the centre and away from noise. Breakfast in the garden was also nice
Review 81:Perfect location, very comfortable room, delicious pastries for breakfast!
Review 82:The stairs with luggage.
Review 83:Great bathroom!
Review 84:Overall good breakfast, would be nice to have a couple more options.
Review 85:Great & helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful location!
Review 86:Nothing to report everything is what it should be
Review 87:The smell of breakfast in the morning. And the convienience of the lication
Review 88:Breakfast under lemon trees.
Review 89:Public paid parking is about 100m away from the hotel.
Review 90:Breakfast is too simple , not too much choice. Hard job to take big suitcase from train station to hotel .
Review 91:The room is big , nice and soft bed .
Review 92:Nothing bad that I can say!
Review 93:The staff was as friendly and helpful as it gets. We enjoyed our brief stay, but would recommend this hotel to anyone!
Review 94:The mirror in our room was too high for me to see myself & I'm 5 feet 3 inches!
Review 95:Loved everything!
Review 96:Loved the towels!! The breakfast was really good too.
Review 97:Simon was very friendly and helpful, our rooms were pretty classy, we slept well - what more could you ask for?
Review 98:Lots of stairs and no lift.
Review 99:Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Manarola is fabulous.
Review 100:Great, location, people, breakfast, coffee, garden... Modern clean room, deffinately reccomend.
Review 101:The hotel is a bit out-dated
Review 102:The hotel is close to the public carpark
Review 103:All is new in a renovated old house , the expectacular breakfast in the little garden just below a line tree is unique.
Review 104:Mattress was a bit hard
Review 105:Nestled back from the main hustle of down village, modern rooms and has retained some old world charm of the family building
Review 106:Only being there for a short stay
Review 107:Everything
Review 108:Very stylish and spacious room. Breakfast is served in a very lovely garden. Wifi worked properly. I enjoyed staying at this place.
Review 109:Breakfast, style of the room/ bathroom, location.
Review 110:I can't really think of anything but I wished they had savory breakfast. Both myself and my friend like savory breakfast. By the third day, I was becoming tired of having croissant and rolls with jam and chocolate spread.
Review 111:The room was clean and modern. The bathroom was new. Loved staying in the hotel. We stayed in the top floor and had a large balcony with a view of the village. We were both very happy to have stayed there.
Review 112:We could not fault this hotel and its staff. Our room was newly refurbished and comfortable, and the whole hotel was lovely and clean. We liked this village the best out of the five, it is a little quieter. The hotel is well situated, it is a bit if a walk up but everyone coming to cinque terre knows walking is involved. Friendly welcome, lovely breakfast, choice ofctable inside or outside. Highly recommended.
Review 113:All is perfect!
Review 114:Very clean and cozy. Newly renovated. The bathroom is big and has modern fixtures.Great location with a lovely view of the vineyards and gardens. The staff were friendly and helpful AND they can speak English. Breakfast was great! Fresh baked croissants and buns. Love the smell of the breads baking in the morning. Has a lovey garden with Lemon Trees.
Review 115:This is probably the only hotel that I have absolutely no complaints about. There is no elevator, so that might be an issue for some if they want to stay on the top floor with the best view. But most people who stay anywhere in the Cinque Terre are there to do some walking and hiking and wouldn't find the stairs daunting.
Review 116:Wonderful transformation from an old winery built in the late 1800's to an artfully modernized 10-room hotel. Some of the stonework/architecture of the original structure is left tastefully exposed on the ground floor to harken back to its historical roots. Contrasted to this are the very modern clean lines of the rooms upstairs. All the amenities are artfully placed, making this a very comfortable stay. Our room on the top floor had a private balcony overlooking the terraced gardens of the hillside.
Review 117:Friendly staff who spoke great English. Great location and easy to find. Lots of space with a well thought out design, the bed was a little firm for us but it didn't detract from an overall perfect stay!! We would stay there again!
