Reviews for Doria Park Hotel

Review 1:The gateway from the parking to the rooms with our baggage was a challenge. The bathing system with nothing more than a jacuzzi is a negative.

Review 2:Breakfast is outstanding, an envy even for the 5 stars hotel category.

Review 3:Fantastically-located hotel just a few steps up from the centre of town, with wonderful views over the bay. First-rate breakfast, excellent bar, nice garden and terrace, and really welcoming staff.

Review 4:There should be a better way to bring your luggage from the carpark.

Review 5:Comfortable room, fantastic view, friendly staff, rich breakfast, 2 minutes walk to Town center.

Review 6:The breakfast was exceptional. Dinner, however, was lacking in flavors and substance. My fish contained bones and I found this most unpleasant and did not eat it.

Review 7:Our room was lovely. The view, while not of the sea, was very nice. Staff were all pleasant and helpful

Review 8:Could of saved us the trouble of the showing short cut to village below through side gate and not having to go up drive way and then down stairs. Also could of explained tunnel short cut to beach with lift in tunnel to castle/fort.

Review 9:We just wanted to relax somewhere and also do the cinque terre. My husband works in hospitality and five star hotels and although the Doria is 3 star the service in the restaurant is 5 star, we were very impressed. One gentlemen on receiption was a really gentleman, sorry I forgot your name (tall gentleman) and very polite and helpful. Loved that I could look onto bay from spa.

Review 10:Be prepared for lots of stairs. Nice though costly restaurant.

Review 11:Great location. If possible book the top floor suites for amazing views while enjoying wine and cheese on your private patio. Lerici best town near cinque terre. Quaint but not too small.

Review 12:Beautiful hotel with amazing views! I opted for a seaview room and the balcony was an unexpected surprise! The staff is very friendly and was always willing to help.

Review 13:Someone could help with suitcases cause there are long stairs to get to hotel.

Review 14:The location was fantastic, hotel is looking over the bay, super view. Hotel could easily be 4 stars, servis was quick, quiet and friendly, all the facilities in the rooms you need, very good Italian breakfast with beautiful view from terras. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others :)

Review 15:Great jacuzzi, but a little bit difficult to shower, the floor is wet.

Review 16:Excellent restaurant - the best I'm Lerici, very good breakfast, beautiful view, great team - grazie ragazzi !!!

Review 17:Super conveniently located two minutes walk to the main piazza and the "lungomare" and the ferry pier for Cinque Terre and Portovenere. Amazing terrace with amazing view of the gulf. We LOVED the abundant breakfast buffet with tons of options (also gluten free and low calories) of high quality food and drinks. You can enjoy the breakfast on the terrace which makes it a perfect start for a day on the riviera. I highly recommend the place. For what you get, the price is very fair.

Review 18:Nothing - some people might prefer a hotel with a pool but the terrace was a great place to relax

Review 19:Very professional & friendly staff; location much better than led to believe from the pictures & other traveller comments. Lovely terrace to sit & look over the town. Fantastic breakfast with freshly squeezed oranges.

Review 20:High in the hill behind Lerici with stunning views across the bay of Poets and beyond lies Hotel Doria. Comfortable with shaded terraces and fine restaurant, and with more than adequate bedrooms, most with sea views, the hotel delivers value for money, all delivered by experienced and friendly staff.

Review 21:our suit was a little on the small size, & you had to pay for Wifi.

Review 22:the hotel location, our junior suite' Lawrence ' had a beautiful sea view , staff in restaurant were also excellent.

Review 23:Small rooms, a not very comfortable mattress, and a quite steep way up and down to the city centre. You have to take a few flights of stairs from the parking site, very uncomfortable with heavy luggage

Review 24:Location, view from the room, fabulous breakfast with a great selection of cakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. Free parking at the back of the hotel. Free minibar. A one Michelin star rated restaurant, with a fabulous service.

Review 25:This hotel needs to renew, rugs needs to change is very small and the elevator, stairs tired despite the short distance, does not deserve four stars, Wi-Fi is very weak and miserable hotel Lonesome

Review 26:Long lady in the reception was nice, and the staff working in the restaurant at breakfast collaborators and treat them nice

Review 27:Many stairs for entering the hotel and going to the town if you have any mobility issues.

Review 28:Great terrace view. Excellent location and access to the town. A lot of restaurants nearby. Excellent breakfast!

Review 29:You have to climb down and up some steps and stairs, not too many, and the elevator was quite small if you have big suitcases.

Review 30:We had a nice decorated room with an astonishing view. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 31:Internet is not free, a shame for the price you pay for the room Rooms need renovation - ugly decor It looks to be more business than touristic.

Review 32:The view and terrace as they show on their website, spectacular! Inside the city but far at the same time Private Parking Complete breakfast

Review 33:Not very much. But with this roomprice why isn`t wifi included?

Review 34:Actually I love this place. Here you can wake up with a wonderful view of the poetic Gulf, Lerici and San Terenzo. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, and the staff are nice and professional. The breakfast is good and varied.

Review 35:Evening receptionists - felt like you were being a nuisance if you asked for anything. Although the place was clean, the overall feel was of a place in need of a good overhaul and update. Electrical junction box in foyer next to lift; blue carpets gone white in many places; carpets in rooms; loose floor tiles in the bathroom.

Review 36:Close to harbour and boats to Cinque Terre. Lovely restaurant staff - good breakfast and evening meal. Great views from room - across the harbour. Peaceful setting. Day receptionist - very helpful. Taxi to station/airport - excellent service!

Review 37:Rooms were a bit dated as was the decor. Access with cases tricky as there were many steps from a very small parking area. Restaurant was quite good, but very expensive. No pool which was a pity. The views made up for all of the above.

Review 38:Great ocean views and the charming town of Lerici within walking distance. We walked to the next village called Tellaro for lunch. Breakfast was outstanding and the waitresses delightful.

Review 39:We chose the Doria for our Honeymoon hotel and it was wonderful. The views from our room were fabulous. On my wedding day, a storm was predicted and our boat trip had to be cancelled. The Doria saved the day by organising a coach for the wedding party. We will be returning next year.

Review 40:The bathroom was small and the shower cubicle was designed for a child! For a large man entry in and out of the shower was difficult and it was impossible to turn round. The WiFi was unreliable and only appeared to be available on the terrace.

Review 41:The view from our room and the terrace was excellent. It's essential to get a room with a sea view otherwise the experience could be disappointing. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was very good. Quality of the breakfast was also very good indeed. Walking up and down the steps from the town centre provides good exercise!

Review 42:The room decor looks a little old and the bathroom was tiny in our room. We have stayed in the Junior suite before and the room/bathroom seemed much nicer.

Review 43:We had a huge balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the city and harbour. It is an easy walk into central Lerici or even across to San Terrenzo. The bed was comfortable and the automatic shades make it super dark in the room even if it is daylight outside. The staff was very friendly and helped us to make dinner reservations at local restaurants.

Review 44:The rooms need some update. The lone elevator is very small and over subscribed at times.

Review 45:Beautiful view from our balcony (corner rooms on the ocean view side) of the lovely Lerici and the La Spezia harbor. Great breakfast. Many fantastic seafood restaurants serving Genoa/Liguria cuisine. Very relaxed. We've stayed there seven times over last 10 years.

Review 46:The terrace and the surrounding is very nice, but the main building need modernization.

Review 47:Perfect location, very good breakfast, and the hotel has it's own parkplace.

Review 48:There are not so many things to do wih small kids in the hotel. The downtown is nearby, but we have to walk through a long stair, which os very inconvenient if you have a baby stroller. However is quite easy to manage if you have a good mood.

Review 49:Good location and there is a private car park. Excellent breakfast service.

Review 50:Slow on the bar. Elevator was slow. No help with bags. Lots lots of stepbut expected in Italy

Review 51:Eleanor was excellent. Rooms were clean but small. Views were great.Glad we stayed there! Would book again with out question !

Review 52:The incline to walk up to the hotel from Lerici centre. Also, need to carry luggage to/from hotel up/down several steps.

Review 53:Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Location when driving - you can reach the hotel without having to enter Lerici centre.

Review 54:For me it wasn't a problem but if you have physical needs it can be a little difficult to reach the hotel with your luggage depending on how you arrived. However, I'm fairly certain that you can make arrangements with the staff to assist you with your luggage. I wouldn't let this deter you.

Review 55:The view from the room was stunning. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was like none I had ever encountered in Europe or elsewhere - delicious and eclectic! I'll definitely return.

Review 56:Small outdoor facilities No hot tub og svimming pool many steps from the town up to the hotel

Review 57:Very large and spacious room #340, new renovated. Very friendly staff. Great Good views from the hotel terrace

Review 58:Very poor wifi connection - it didn't work. Expensive minibar - the bottle of wine I tried cost 5 euros and was undrinkable. The guest soap and shampoo etc was of low quality, and there was no bottled water supplied in the rooms. So, in essence, great potential, needs to try much harder to justify costs.

Review 59:The views over Lerici to San Terenzo. Comfortable pillows.

Review 60:Clean well equipped rooms

Review 61:view over harbour near to town and near to off road walk to next village, good breakfast, comfy seats with view on veranda.

Review 62:staff very rude, unfriendly & very unhelpful

Review 63:Location

Review 64:Modern architecture and room design; outstanding resaturant; convenient walk to harbor.

Review 65:Lots of flights of steps to negotiate b

Review 66:Nothing!

Review 67:Value for Money, Breakfast, Bed, Staff

Review 68:parking, steps difficult with luggage, internet slow or not working

Review 69:spectacular view, great breakfast, very helpful staff

Review 70:Room had no view

Review 71:Central loction

Review 72:Especially the restaurant staff and food.

Review 73:paid wifi, shower/bath

Review 74:location, view, breakfast

Review 75:restaurant was not open for dinner every night.

Review 76:View of the sea from our window. Friendly staff. Nicely appointed room.

Review 77:Beautiful views Very clean Helpful staff

Review 78:Having to pay for wifi.

Review 79:Wonderful breakfast spread also numerous gluten free items. Views and patio. Close to the historical center.

Review 80:Bathroom is tiny but ok

Review 81:Wonderful breakfast Great view 2 min walk to the center

Review 82:Nothing

Review 83:Best hotel in Lerici. Views, breakfast, and facilities were all excellent.

Review 84:Great views over the bay from the balcony and great food in the restaurant

Review 85:only one lift and very old style

Review 86:refurbished rooms definetely worth a 4 star great terrace very good location amazing breakfast

Review 87:The view from this hotel with a balcony room was magnificent. The town Lerici is very nice and relaxed.

Review 88:Amazing view over Gulf of Poets, breakfast was just great - fresh juices, coffee and pastries

Review 89:The hotel was a little difficult to locate. Suggestion: more signs from the auto strada.

Review 90:The staff were very helpful at all times. The food was very good, brilliant breakfast buffet, excellent wine list. Central location with great views.

Review 91:The bathroom was very small ,your knees touched the wall when on the toilet. The shower was particularly small,no room to turn round.

Review 92:Fantastic views from our room on the fourth floor, convenience to centre of main square & waterfront.

Review 93:A lift could be welcomed: there is a lot of stairs to go from the parking to the reception with the luggage. Otherwise the stay was perfect.

Review 94:Nice and quiet hotel with a beautiful view on the village of Lerici and towards the Gulf of the Poets (La Spezia, Cinque Terre...). The rooms are quite large, some have a balcony. The breakfast and the restaurant are tasteful. There is a quick access by foot to go to the city centre.

Review 95:We arrived late at hotel. Nobody available to help with luggage. Many stairs before you reach the lift. The reception area is very tired and unwelcoming.

Review 96:Bedroom comfortable and views from room with balcony excellent.

Review 97:Getting luggage up and down the hill from parking and then back up to our room on the 4th floor was tedious. Parking can also be tricky, but we always managed to get a spot :-)

Review 98:Size of room, great breakfast and helpfulness of staff!

Review 99:Wi-Fi wasn't free and the hotel was a little difficult to find for the first time, but not a big deal at a all.

Review 100:The view was priceless! It was the best part of our entire trip in Italy. We stayed at one of the newly renovated room, everything was perfect, staff were very friendly, breakfast was great, we love the freshly squeezed local orange juice, what a refreshing way to start the day! :) we would definitely come back to this hotel if we ever return to the region. Lerici itself is such a picturesque and relaxing place to visit.

Review 101:The junior suite is a little dated and cramped .. But I enjoyed the balcony.

Review 102:Like all others reviews the view is to die for. We stayed in the junior suite view from the balcony was gorgeous .. Staff where helpful with luggage quite a few steps to get to car park. Breakfast was excellent with fresh Blood orange juice and a good espresso.

Review 103:The carriage of luggage from the car park to the hotel is almost impossible, every person we saw was struggling with cases, up two flights of steps outside the hotel. Very little assistance was offered.

Review 104:The views from our window over the sea

Review 105:The access to the hotel was not made easy due to the access restriction of Lerici itself, but the way was clearly indicated (don't follow the GPS !).

Review 106:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great view from the room (seaside), calm place. The charmful old city and the harbour is very near. The breakfast was excellent (view, choice of food - even got a fruit and vegetable juice separator -, ...). We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening (though it's possible), but ate in the old town (plenty of choice). Friends of ours advised us this place, so will we to others !

Review 107:Room carpeting had a few stains.

Review 108:Staff were friendly and helpful with any questions about the area. Ourroom with a seaview was very nice...my wife loved the jetted tub.Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were top notch. Great location tostay and take the boat to 5-Terre,Portovenere and back...lovely trip.

Review 109:the bathroom was not clean when we arrived. they didn't clean it during our stay neither. there are stairs from the parking space to the hotel with no elevator. this is bad when you travel with heavy suitcases and babies.

Review 110:the location, the view and the food

Review 111:The breakfast buffet and the view of the harbor are unbeatable.I rate Lerici and its people above Venice, Florence, Laspezia, or Pisa.It is the true Italy, and Hotel Doria is the ONLY place to stay to truly take in the view properly.

Review 112:More a warning. There are lots of steps up and down to and from the Hotel. Not a choice if you are not mobile.

Review 113:Warm feeling, helpful staff and a good atmosphere

Review 114:We had a 'garden view' room but were on the ground floor which wasn't great but the views from the restaurant where you have breakfast or the bar were great.

Review 115:Very good value for money. Great location in Lerici. Only a 2 minute walk to the main piazza where there are many restaurants and you can either catch the ferry to Cinque Terre or catch a bus to La Spezia for the train. Great breakfast and views from the bar/restaurant.

Review 116:Can't think of anything.

Review 117:We had a gerogeous room overlooking the water. The room was tastefully decorated, comfortable, great beds , bathroom and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 118:Poor WiFi This was the only hotel out of the 7 we used during our tripto Italy (including 3 B&B) where we were charged for WiFi.

Review 119:Location - get a room with a view Need to be aware that there is anuphill (steps) return journey from Lerici which may be difficult fordisabled or older guests. Small rooms but comfortable Good base forCinque Terre Superb breakfast Free parking

Review 120:The rooms are a little dated decor wise & smelled a little musty. But we kept both windows wide open & it was fine. The shower is kindof small, not made for anyone over 6"1 or more than 160lbs.

Review 121:Doria Park Hotel was super easy to find with gps, has the best view ofLerici, the water/boats/mountains. The breakfast wasgreat&the staff was helpful&friendly. Wifi worked well. Freeparking. The restaurants are all just a walk down the stairs & theyare great. The rooms were spacious with big windows with tons of view.

Review 122:We didn't like leaving.

Review 123:Hotel is set up high on the hill and has a beautiful view of marina andsquare and partial of the castle but it was only a short walk to both. The room was average in size but the bed was the most comfortable of allthe ones we had during our three week stay in Italy. Quiet room and nicebathroom with a robe. Great breakfast in a nice setting. Staff was veryhelpful especially when we needed to buy and print out train tickets.

Review 124:lighting in the bathroom and bedroom too low for old eyes, a lot of steps from parking lot to reception.

Review 125:View from the balcony, bathroom facilities, staff, breakfast and location.

Review 126:* Of course the stairs from car park to office. there is no sign to advise that a porter can be available and we struggled down those 100 stairs.

Review 127:* the Views * the proximity to seaside, main city, cinque terre, mountains *

Review 128:no handsoap's in the room. You need to pour liquid soaps from a bottle which is weird.

Review 129:nice hotel with comfortable beds and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. wonderful view from balcony

Review 130:Our experience was less unsatisfactory. During the time of booking therewas no room available with seaside view. The room (116) was small. Therewas leakage of water from the ceiling in the corner of bathroom with afoul odor. The floor and the carpet was partially wet. My wife wasallergic to the odor. You need a key and card to get inside which Ifound to be strange. We switched to a different room with a view for thefollowing night which was quite nice. It was at a higher price. Room 116should not be assigned to anyone. I explained it to the staff and triedto tell the desk manager that the minimum they could do is to charge alower rate (same as a room without a seaside view) for the room whichwas given for the second night. But the desk manager did not want to dothat. The restaurant staff was very pleasant- not necessarily efficient. One of my friend was choking during the dinner. As soon as they noticedit, the entire staff disappeared without trying to give any help. Foodwas good but slow in service. I feel I should be refunded the money forthe first night's stay. I left a note at the desk about myexperience.

Review 131:The view is wonderful and location is convenient- a little difficultfor people who have some physical limitations. Food in therestaurant was good.

Review 132:Even with gps, finding the hotel is not easy, but this is not a bigdeal. No tub in our room.

Review 133:Location - not easy to get to, but great views and convenient to thecity. Great breakfast.

Review 134:Parking was a bit difficult because the parking lot was crowded. Our room was on the first floor, and the view to the garden meant a view to a hill-side, which was only two meters from the window. So we did not really have sunlight and fresh air in our room.

Review 135:The view from the terrace was fantastic. The centre is only 5-10 minutes from the hotel (but you have to climb many stairs). Delicious breakfast with various choices. Cinque Terre can be reached easily by ferry.
