Reviews for Michela Rooms

Review 1:We could hear our neighbors a little bit through the walls or the windows.

Review 2:Great little apartment! They provided linen, and there was also a little kitchen area. I loved it.

Review 3:There was a lot of climbing involved to get to the room...which was a bit of trouble to do with the luggage

Review 4:The room was very spacious, equipped with all kitchen equipment. The location, though a little difficult to get to, was lovely for giving a beautiful view of the town and the ocean.

Review 5:A little more in the way of some bowls or other dinnerware would be nice, even without a kitchenette. Just to be able to eat lightly in the room.

Review 6:A fine location when our preferred rental was unavailable. Roomy shower. Very helpful owners.

Review 7:If they hadn't been there at the room as we were arriving, it would have been tough to reach them since our US phones don't work in Italy. As other reviewers noted, the room didn't have a window, but it was fine for us because we really only were in the room to sleep.

Review 8:The room was clean, spacious and had air conditioning. The location was up the hill, so a bit of a climb, but expected, and easy to find/close to the train and the center of Manarola.

Review 9:The cost was high for the room. No Windows was strange, slightly claustrophobic.

Review 10:The people were great and easy to work with. The location was good and it was fun to be in that area of town. The apartment was very clean and nicely remodeled.

Review 11:My 'dislikes' are not major detractors just suggestions for another time : The extra high and firm pillows! One softer one would have been nice. When it rained the rain flooded in downstairs so my hiking boots were soaked as I had left them inside the door rather than take upstairs. A warning that the rain comes in would be helpful

Review 12:The overall cleanliness and high standard of the room. Guiliano's helpful and easy going nature. The location up quite high in the town would be a challenge if you have a case to lug up all the steps rather than a back pack but the height brings a lovely evening breeze.

Review 13:A bit of a steep walk to the centre of Manarola and from the parking lot. No view of the sea from the room.

Review 14:Reasonably large room, comfortable for 4 beds.

Review 15:Besides the fact that you have to carry your luggages all the way up and tourists passes the room at midnight, there are no points that I am not satisfied.

Review 16:Love Cinque Terre so much. And the location is great at Manarola. Also, wifi speed is good, the toilet is not small. Place is clean as well. But the room has no sea view.

Review 17:Nothing - just don't use google map to find this place, you will find yourself up a hill overlooking the town

Review 18:Great location only minutes walk from the train station

Review 19:Apartment (we rented both rooms in Manarola at once) was beautiful. Michela helped us with logistics when meeting was difficult due to Italian rail strike the day we were traveling to Manarola - she really put our minds at ease.

Review 20:Nothing bad to say about the property but be prepared for the angle of the streets in Manarola. Not for the faint of heart.

Review 21:The room was decorated beautifully with all the modern amenities. Michela also provides transportation (at a reasonable cost) which was a real bonus. The shower was an amazing rainshower! There was also a bidet which is not be used for feet washing!

Review 22:There wasnt a window in the room which didnt matter that much since we came only for 1 day.

Review 23:Michela's dad picked us up and showed us the way to the property. They let us check in next day only at 4pm which was very kind of them since our train was only at 5pm. The room was very clean.

Review 24:After climbing up and up you waited for nice scenery and you ended into a room without any window. Reservation mentioned first floor apartment, but NOT that it is without window. The only window was in the door, that was straight to the street.

Review 25:Room and bathroom was good and spacious

Review 26:We had the downstairs part of the apartment. It was a bit damp and doesn't have any windows apart from the door. A bit of a hike up the hill but that's to be expected.

Review 27:Accommodation was clean and had a good shower and bathroom. The room was spacious. Staff arrived to let us in within 10 minutes of our arrival.

Review 28:A long walk up the hill, especially with luggage. Could hear the young amorous couple up stairs.

Review 29:Gorgeous views as you walk back down the hill. Close to Billy's restaurant

Review 30:There was a peculiar smell. The website should be more specific to indicate this in not a hotel. The website said they accepted credit cards, but I was forced to pay cash. I never met the proprietor, just her father. There should be directions provided to paying customers. The proprietor should answer guests emails more swiftly and not the day they are arriving.

Review 31:I liked the location, some others might not. The room was recently re-finished so everything was fresh.

Review 32:Since it is an apartment, not a hotel, there was no signage and no reception. I arrived early and without internet access had no way to call to confirm I was in the right place. Be sure to let them know when you'll arrive!

Review 33:The apartment was really great - clean, quiet and well equipped. It had a good location in Manarola and was a really good value for the money.

Review 34:I couldn't stay longer

Review 35:Michela Room delivers a spacious and comfortable stay. I booked an upstairs unit, which I've heard is more desirable than downstairs. The unit had a nice kitchen, bathroom, couch, dining room, marble entry and hardwoods throughout, which was a nice surprise. I have no complaints and enjoyed my stay immensely!

Review 36:There were ants. Not sure if its just a product of location and other places in hills have similar issues. That's only suggestion I have for improvement.

Review 37:I liked the location. Manarola is beautiful and our room was conveniently close walk to train and hiking trail.

Review 38:Hard to meet up with the hosts, since the train schedules are unpredictable. Meeting at a shop or picking up the key at a shop would be easier than meeting in front of the church.

Review 39:great location; friendly hosts; very nice accommodations;

Review 40:Host was very nice to pick me up although I didn't request before, otherwise I will get lost in the small and steep path with heavy luggage.

Review 41:Love the location, the view. Place is clean and the service by the staff is great! Giuliano of Michela rooms is a great host!

Review 42:Friendly helpful contact, clean and comfortable, felt very at home and made to feel welcome

Review 43:No vindows in the room. Lots of ants due to lack of dayly cleaning.

Review 44:Nice bathroom.

Review 45:nothing

Review 46:Very responsive to emails and proactive in facilitating easy check-in; ideal base for exploring the Cinque Terre

Review 47:Location is excellent and the hosts are very kind

Review 48:- Nothing special, only the heating was closed after midnight, a bit chilly during sleeping. Hope to improve it soon.

Review 49:- Everything is good.

Review 50:Long walk up hill and stairs.

Review 51:Excellent modern remodel with high quality materials.

Review 52:no downsides at all

Review 53:Great location, the owner could not do more to make our stay an unforgettable experience

Review 54:Damp smell! Many ants.

Review 55:Lovely and spacious rooms.

Review 56:Friendly host, and very nice hotel!

Review 57:Very nice furnished apartment. Close to the town and train station.

Review 58:Room was at or below street level and lacked ventilation so seemed damp and wet or damp clothes didn't dry out.

Review 59:The room was spotless and very spacious. Manarola is beautiful!

Review 60:Poor ventilation without opening the only door onto a busy thoroughfare. No view

Review 61:Position at top of village, bathroom, tea making ability

Review 62:- Long hike up to the apartment - doesnt have a great view of the town or sea

Review 63:- fully furnished apartment/kitchen - free wifi was a big plus

Review 64:A bit hard to find maybe. Or perhaps it was our lack of research, we thought the location was riomaggiore from the map. Haha! It is manarola and up the hill

Review 65:The studio is perfect. Manarola is the perfect village to live. It was a bit of a work out to get up the stairs/hill to the studio but well worth it. Me and my friend loved living there, and the owner was really helpful and friendly! Highly recommed it!

Review 66:It is a bit of a hike to the parking lot - but come on its Cinque Terre!

Review 67:Great reception when we arrived. The room was lovely, clean and bright. They even had a bottle of prosecco awaiting us! (For our honeymoon). Great location. Loved Manarola!!! Would very highly recommend staying here!!

Review 68:Info provided informed payment could be made by credit card. This was refused by the owner who advised he did not have a machine. When staying a number of nights this is a massive inconvenience & if cards are not applicable & cash is required for payment it should be clearly stated on the booking.com website.

Review 69:Idyllic location, Michela Rooms provided simple yet authentic accomodation. Great local produce & a well set up kitchen inspired us to cook regional dishes & drink Ligurian wine. We also loved the meandering steps & lane ways that led up & up to Michela Rooms, high above the village,

Review 70:Like almost everything not on the main street, it's hard to find if it's your first time in town--it's on a lane all the way up high at the back of the main town. The windows don't block out noise from people walking outside, but there aren't many people so it's not so bad. I would have liked a microwave and a kettle. Also, a small issue: the decor is hideous. To be honest I don't really care, because more importantly it was decently-maintained and clean. However, the color scheme is random, and the accents are just ugly, especially the awful artwork, patterned plastic table cloth, and light fixtures.

Review 71:Spacious room. Clean and modern. Actually in Manarola. Good sized kitchen. Helpful manager. A few steps from a nice little square overlooking the train station on the coast, and from the square there's a series of stairs leading all the way down to the main street (quite a climb, but that's true of most locations in Cinque Terre).

Review 72:We missed not having a microwave. Also, if you have heavy luggage it isa long trip up if you go to the apartment by way of the church. There isa shorter route to the right from the train station.

Review 73:The apartment was very comfortable for 2 people. Michela & familyare very nice & accommodating. We arrived later than normal check inhours & Michela worked with us and did not charge extra.

Review 74:Liked it all.

Review 75:Friendly and helpful contacts, the room was clean, the kitchen was good, and its in a quite higher area in Beautiful Manarola.I'd recommend it.

Review 76:Beautifully decorated, wonderful location, and excellent facilities (refrigerator, very nicely appointed bathroom, excellent beds). A really first rate place that we recommend wholeheartedly to other travelers.

Review 77:Bed uncomfortable. Room was cold. Water pressure in the shower was like a drizzle...not much. Towels were like table cloths. No wash cloths.

Review 78:The room was decorated nicely. Lotion.

Review 79:The uphill walk and then the 70 steps to the room with luggage, but we knew about this before we booked. That is Manarola!

Review 80:The kitchenette which allowed us to be self catering for breakfast. We dined out for the other meals. The bed was really comfy and we both slept well. The room is very clean. Plenty of hot water albeit low water pressure. As Michela does not live on site, we were in contact with her via email during our stay as we found our mobile phone too expensive to use as we were on roaming from Australia. Michela responded via email very promptly with queries we had re the safe, and the air conditioner controller. We unfortunately locked our mobile phone in the room on our departure, but we made a phone call to her from Rome and she says she will post our phone to us in Rome. I would suggest advising Michela Rooms via email or phone of your intended arrival time before you get into Manarola to be certain that somebody is there to let you in.

Review 81:The apartment is decorated with so different paints, cloth-patterns and paintings that it becomes very busy. E.g. half the walls are now grass-green dotted with paint, if these were evenly white or light-colored it would make the apartment feel much more tranquil and luxurious.

Review 82:Friendly welcome. Well-equipped, very clean apartment with comfortable bathroom including towels, and a comfortable bed made-up upon arrival. Great views on village and agricultural terraces (and the sea if you lean out of the window a little).

Review 83:Just a little far from the train station. Have to cook for my own breakfast :)

Review 84:Beautiful apartment room with kitchen, the owner of the house treated us very well, and being very patient and helpful for the trip. PS, thanks so much for the wine for our honeymoon !

Review 85:This is minor, but I didnt bring an email capable device and communication kind of relied on that so that made it a bit difficult.

Review 86:Everything about the room was fine, no problems.

Review 87:I have thought long and hard about what to say here. I knew when Ibooked that there was not much accommodation left, so I knew I waslimited in my choice and knew not to expect a view, or not to expectmuch really. All I can say is that it was disappointing to stay in sucha beautiful town and not be able to sit somewhere outside to enjoy thefresh air and ambience of the town. Our room (at street level) had nopossibility to sit outside, or even to sit. There were 2 small designertype stools made of wire, that's the only place you could sit. Theonly window in the whole room was the top half of the door which openedinwards. All you could really do was to open the door onto the streetand sit on the bed - people walking past were looking into our roomseeing us sitting on our bed. I know the spare bed would be used by alot of clients, but from our point of view we would have appreciated twocomfortable chairs to sit in, and we could have looked out our door. Itfelt like staying in a cave. However as I said we did book late and werelimited in choice. We climbed 60 or so steps up the hill and sat on somesteps so we could be outside.

Review 88:The location was excellent, a couple of minutes walking down steps tothe small town, with restaurants, bars, Harbour etc. the room was big, large bathroom and shower. Double bed and a single bed. The room wasvery clean, everything worked. A kettle was provided.

Review 89:There were no Windows and would have really liked a balcony or at least a window.

Review 90:Clean and well appointed with large shower. Up a few stairs so you got a feel for the place but not too many. There was also a restaurant really close by.

Review 91:the stairs, the stairs the stairs over 200 from the train station another 50 or so to the sea; but if you are going to Cinque Terre, you should expect to do significant climbing

Review 92:fully functioning studio apartment, very rustic location. As quiet and out of the way as you can expect for Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is a special place I recommend that everyone spend at least a few days there with their sweet-hart regardless of your age, as long as your knees can take the stairs.

Review 93:Coffee pot is so small it does not even make one full cup of coffee. The stove top was occasionally hard to get lit.

Review 94:Service was excellent, staff was accommodating. 5min walk to the water. Excellent hiking trails (#6 is open) nearby. Manarola is a lovely town to stay at in Cinque Terre, the views are beautiful in every direction.

Review 95:1. You had to climb a long hill to reach the hotel, but the fact of being in one of the towns of Cinque Terre rather than an outlying one, made up for the climb. 2. The shower was icy cold. 3. When we arrived for check-in there was no one there, so we needed to call to arrange for them to come and let us into the room. 4. You are required to pay in cash.

Review 96:The room we stayed in was very nice and spacious. It was right in Manarola which was nice for hiking and exploring the towns of Cinque Terre.

Review 97:We believe there is a door to another downstairs apartment and there isno privacy/security for this room. We felt very safe but wanted tomention this odd feature.

Review 98:This was an efficiency rental and my husband purchased local products tomake breakfast and dinner during our stay.

Review 99:Nice place to explore the Cinque Terre, big room, lots of space.

Review 100:Liked the location as it was so close to the shops and restaurants yet was quiet along the street.

Review 101:Very nice updated room!

Review 102:No sea view

Review 103:Very Cosy and extremely clean. Would recommend others.

Review 104:Perfect place and beautiful setting. Juliano was a perfect host

Review 105:- comfortable bed - modern kitchenette - location

Review 106:Nothing. Everything good!

Review 107:Amazing! They even gave me a bottle of wine, Cinque Terre, for the night of the New Year! Grazie Michela

Review 108:there was only a small window in the room; the shower drain did not work properly.

Review 109:the room was clean, very well positioned; very good value for money

Review 110:The staff was very accommodating, and the beds were quite comfortable.

Review 111:We loved the location of the room and that it had a kitchenette so that we could self cater. It was perfect!
