Reviews for Pertiwi Resort & Spa
Review 1:wifi doesn't work in your room, you have to go on your balcony or go to reception
Review 2:Fantatsic location !!! Right in the heart of the town just a 5 minuite walk to the monkey forest. Room and swimming pool's are very nice. Reception was very helpful and managed to sort us a driver to see the paddy fields and many more activities
Review 3:Wireless internet was extremely slow, and impossible to load pages, despite there being several different hot-spots in the resort. The only one that was good was when sitting right underneath the modem at the restaurant.
Review 4:ALL staff were excellent, so polite, authentic, and professional. Breakfast was very good. Lovely quiet room. Despite being on main road, like many places, it was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you.
Review 5:'Free wifi' was incredibly slow. Bizarrely, the room door handles have sharp edges that can cut your hand! Was clear staff were aware of this problem but had not dealt with it, and were generally unresponsive. Breakfast looked mediocre. If you stay here eat over the road at Watercress Cafe!
Review 6:Very central location, pleasant layout and good swimming pools.
Review 7:MOSQUITOS!! they are everywhere very hard to just sit on the balcony without getting bitten.. the breakfast buffet is passable however whould be great if everything was fresh not kept outside for quite sometime
Review 8:The villa is fantastic for families and groups. very close to the main area. The set up is very nice and relaxing
Review 9:The only bad thing about this place was that the wifi was very weak, especially in our room. This is obviously a minor issue but became annoying when trying to plan our trip or book things.
Review 10:The location of this place was great. It was in the main tourist area but once you enter this resort you feel like you are somewhere else. It is so beautiful, quiet, very serene and tranquil. It has two main pools, spa and restaurant. There are lot's of trees and green space. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I just loved the look and feel of this place. It was wonderful.
Review 11:No washer/dryer on site but they do have a great laundry service that will get your clothes back to you in 24 hours or less. You do have to pay but it's pretty cheap.
Review 12:Cart ride to room was exciting. Breakfast was good. Pool was clean. Outdoor shower was very nice. Close walk to monkey forest and lots of shopping. I liked sitting on the seats out front and drinking some beers watching the scooters go by.
Review 13:Bathroom could have done with a little more elbow grease.
Review 14:Extremely welcoming and friendly staff with efficient service. Absolutely beautiful grounds and a super delightful swimming pool.
Review 15:We got upgraded to a new room, however there was no privicy on the patio, so we asked to be downgraded to the bigger older style rooms we have previously stayed in, this wasn't a problem for the staff, the old rooms may need an update, but they are cool and more private. Thanks
Review 16:Solitude of the resort, a great layout Staff were great, rooms quiet. Facilities very good
Review 17:The shower was in the bath and it was hard to climb in and out - they should explain that they do not have a separate free standing shower. A steep hill walk to the second pool at the back of the hotel that again was not explained as part of the description. Not enough sunbeds around the pool for the number of rooms and guests. Our family visiting needed to pay to use the pool when they came to see us. This is not explained in the description.
Review 18:The location right in the heart of Ubud was very convenient. Friendly staff. Great food for breakfast. Free wifi. Balcony to sit and relax on outside the room.
Review 19:Love the location - short walk to Money Forrest, Ubud markets and many massage places and lovely dinning experiences all on your doorstep. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and looked after use very well for our honeymoon - always have great recommendations for day tours which made our stay very fun and easy to go with the flow and organise our days the grounds were very well kept and manicured and the pools were always lovely and refreshing to relax by... The breakfast and dinner experiences at both restaurants were always enjoyable and tasty with great service.. Would highly recommend this place - it's great value for money!
Review 20:The Rooms could do with some maintenance, pants peeling off walls, lamp shade was filthy and water marks. Room lacked fears tour.
Review 21:The restaurant staff were great. Thank you Putu for making our stay pleasurable and fun
Review 22:Wi-Fi did not reach our room very well, but then again, who needs wi-fi in Ubud?
Review 23:Central position; nice infinity pools; nice spa; it's big, you really feel like you're in an exotic resort, but you're still in the centre of Ubud. Great!
Review 24:The equipement is old especially the bathrooms.Need refreshment. It iis noisy betweenrooms.
Review 25:The place is great with amazing plants, flowers, trees. The location is very good, central.
Review 26:The house keeping was not up to standard. Always needed to call for extra towels and toilet smelled like sewage and some kind on insect poo on the sink
Review 27:The hotel was beautiful and full of green all over. Room big
Review 28:The entrance to resort needs an upgrade as it looked drab upon arrival. This gave a false impression of the resort as it was beautiful beyond.
Review 29:Position of resort was excellent. Walk out and into the hustle and bustle of shopping. 5 minute walk to monkey forest.
Review 30:Breakfast was great, happy staff, loved the flowers and gardens, also the massage. The rooms are away from the street noise, the pool was close by and lots of good shopping within walking distance.
Review 31:Wifi a little ropey but generally okay.
Review 32:Breakfast at the back was much better than the front restaurant, the best staff ever service was amazing so friendly!! It's a great relaxing getaway feels like a little safe haven.
Review 33:The meals at the restaurant were terrible. I had to send mine back and didn't bother about a replacement as my husbands was also poor but he was hungry!
Review 34:We thought the gardens were beautiful and the reception staff were pleasant. The resort was on the main road, close to restaurants, shops and the Monkey Forest but I probably would have preferred to be out of the town where the resorts were perched on the edge of the hills with beautiful views.
Review 35:I FOUND TRYING TO CONNECT TO INTERNET AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
Review 36:THE ENTIRE STAFF WERE COURTEOUS,POLITE AND FRIENDLY,AND MY SON AND I THOUGHT EVERYONE WE MEET IN UBUD TO BE THE SAME.
Review 37:The hotel has severals villas and buildings on a a valley. The buggys were out during our 3 nights stay and it is very inconvenient to get to your room or villa when you are on the wrong side of the hotel. When you come back from a full day outside, you definately don't want to spend another 8 min to climb the stairs down and up again! Considering the hotel architecture, The management should have back up plan and ensure that the buggys are ALWAYS operationnal. The bathroom tub is very high to climb in and not well structured as a lot of water always leaked pur when you take a shower! No many electrical slots to plug your devices.
Review 38:Calm surroundings in Ubud, nice rice fields on Bisma road.
Review 39:Only negative was a lack of spa, however, the pool was divine.
Review 40:Perfect location if traveling solo as it's walking distance to many things; half way between the monkey forest at one end and temples at the other.
Review 41:The internet is really quite bad and as other guests have noted we both got stuck in the far away wing... and breakfast was mediocre
Review 42:I stayed three nights here with a friend in shoulder season. The first thing we noticed were the spectacular grounds, they are really lovely and you feel transposed to a little jungle paradise. The paradise sort of stops there as the rooms are a bit dated as is the wifi which is practically non-existent. We were stuck in the back wing which is about a ten minute walk (they do have a golf cart shuttle most of the day and early evening) so we lost a bit of the charm. However, it was a nice place to stay, conveniently located close to many restaurants, bars, massage and shopping and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 43:Wifi is very poor and room 123 is very loud.
Review 44:The grounds of this resort are very lush, however be prepared to walk up very steep hills!! There is a golf cart, however at times this would get stuck up the most steep hill and staff would have to push it up!! We only took the buggy once. Beautiful pool...go the villa if you can!! Staff friendly.
Review 45:the bed is too soft and the room is dark.
Review 46:Our rooms are located on the back of the property. We know, it must be because of the price so the consequence is that we have to walk quite far and hilly. There is a golf car indeed but my mom is afraid to be on one so we walked instead. Having said that, we consider our choice of hotel as a healthy one.
Review 47:Wifi was ridiculous. They somehow advertise that it is offered in all of the hotel areas - however they don't say that the signal reception is horrible and it barely works. Laundry and spa facilities were really expensive, especially compared to the prices practiced around the hotel. Seriously, U$$30 for an hour's worth of massage is a lot of money. Cable/satellite TV advertised only have 2 channels in English - not very useful, especially when you can barely leave your room. We paid similar money for better service in Indonesia previously. For some reason the checkin staff tried to "test" my credit card by charging me the full amount of my stay - although I had previously arranged with them that I would pay part of it in cash on checkout - and proceeded to call me on the morning asking me why my CC was declined. I hated this atitude, especially as they hadn't shown me the value to be charged before. This was extremely unprofessional. Honestly guys, why would you try charging someone's credit card before arranging with them previously?
Review 48:The staff was generally really good - we had to stay at the hotel throughout all of our time in Bali due to health issues, and most of the staff was always asking us if we were better and whatnot. Food from the restaurant was really tasty and not expensive. Same with the breakfast - included in the hotel price. The scenery was also great - both pools looked really cool and the place had a nice, cozy feeling overall. Very quiet at night.
Review 49:Pretty noisey in the evening up to about 11-11.30pm from snging / bands playing in bars next to and opposite the hotel.
Review 50:Very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities and good location in central Ubud.
Review 51:Front restaurant breakfasts tend to be dried up buffet and variable Front pool is far too near the main road and very public.
Review 52:Gardens - beautiful and calming Close to restaurants, shops and bars Great staff Pool at the back is secluded and pleasant Restaurant at the back is quieter and the food is much better for breakfast.
Review 53:Mouldy shower screen, ragged towels, torn lower sheet, doors would not stay closed on wardrobe or door to mini bar, mould on ceiling in bathroom.
Review 54:Gardens were well kept. Staff were okay and assisted with internet when requested. Breakfast included in tariff was good.
Review 55:Rooms are getting a bit dated and need to be upgraded. Even though there were multiple wifi networks to join, all were slower than dialup. The American be reakfast was terrible quality.
Review 56:Beautiful grounds, friendly staff.
Review 57:There is lezards but they are everywhere in bali so no complaining
Review 58:I liked the pleasant and smiling stuff, very clean and confortable rooms and amazing garden. Very good massage and swiming pool.
Review 59:Wifi did not work at all. Had to ask for hair dryer. Bed hard as a rock. Sheets stained and towels thin and greying. Very old room, chipped tiles etc. Room service shut off early. Advertises 'movie under the stars' staff don't know anything about this. Poor service in restaurant, had to beckon staff everytime we wanted something & they never come to ask you if you want more drinks.
Review 60:Swimming pool at the back end of the property was beautiful. I did mention to staff about my complaints & they were very nice and apologetic but I felt we were not getting what we paid for. On the last day the manager sat down with us to apologise which was nice & offered us complimentary massages but we were ready to check out so it was too late.
Review 61:Staff are always friendly and helpful. Private pool villas offer extra space, comfort and a private plunge pool. The gardens are beautiful and offer a serene environment. The location is around halfway between Ubud Palace and the Monkey Forest on a street with many restaurants, cafes and shops.
Review 62:Couldn't use my Amex credit card to settle my account due to local bank issue !!! The only answer i could get is Sunday can't get hold the Amex or the bank !!!
Review 63:Location,good manemanagement staffs.
Review 64:Location was great for walking to restaurants, monkey forest, ubud market etc breakfast varied and substantial with friendly staff. A great hotel and value for your money..I will book again to stay here.
Review 65:No complains!
Review 66:Very good hotel! The location is great, it is very close to restaurants, bars and shops. Walking distance to Monkey Forest! The room is big and clean, there is a beautiful pool and good breakfast! I still remember banana pancake with coconut! The staff is very helpful and kind, I loved it! I highly reccomend this hotel and really wanted to come back!
Review 67:Long walk upstairs to rear rooms, breakfast always come out cold, shower hard to enter with high step to get into, some staff not up to normal high Bali standard
Review 68:Lovely gardens and close to restaurants and shopping
Review 69:1. Wifi very poor 2. One Staff member was very rude 3. Forcing guests to make a deposit of Rs 400,000 4. Resort rooms are not designed to cater general requirements and certainly do not match to what was advertised
Review 70:Location Convenience Food ( Not Bad) Hotel style
Review 71:Can't enter reception during heavy rains without getting your feet wet. Bath tub drain very slow draining. Very limited English speaking TV channel choice. My pet dislike- weak wifi internet service which to be fair is a problem through out Bali.
Review 72:Great location on Monkey Forrest Road. Resort has impressive large grounds. The pandan banana and coconut pancakes at breakfast are fantastic.
Review 73:Just loved it!
Review 74:Beautifully serene grounds In heart of Ubud tourist district Peaceful villa Friendly atmosphere Caring staff Client oriented management
Review 75:Nothing.
Review 76:Location is great..near eating places and shops. Nice friendly staff, clean rooms, and value for money. Would definitely stay there on my next visit to Bali!
Review 77:The bathroom was a bit smelly, there were water stains/ damp stains on quite a few of the walls and the ceiling. There were ants in the room, along the walls and in the bathroom. Also found the gardeners sweeping the hotel grounds at half 5 / 6 in the morning woke us up every morning we were there.
Review 78:The location was excellent, near the markets and palace and monkey forest. The infinity pools were lovely. Good aircon and liked the fact you got mosquito nets. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and helped us get our taxi's to out next destination. The breakfast was very good too. Very pretty hotel grounds.
Review 79:Don't bother with the Beji spa. It's ridiculously overpriced and the service is poor. Plenty of better options along Monkey Forest Road.
Review 80:Comfortable, clean room, nice pools, breakfast good but not much variety, so a bit sick of it after a week. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful gardens. Quite a long walk from the back rooms to the front entrance and lots of up and down. Ok if you don't mind a walk and they have a golf buggy to drive you with luggage or of it's raining. Excellent location on Monkey Forest Road, right near restaurants, shops, money changers etc.
Review 81:Way to many stairs and hills if you're traveling with infants or small children. If you want to go to the big pool in the back of the resort, prepare yourself for a decent hike. Don't forget anything in your room or you'll have to hike all the way back!
Review 82:Wifi was pretty good. Bed was comfy.
Review 83:Located on monkey forest road. Right in the middle of ubud. Cafes, restaurants, spas and shops all around. Peaceful and relaxing resort, well maintained. Staff are very helpful, nice and welcoming. Buffet breakfast is great! Lots of options each day. Pool is nice and cocktails and drinks by the pool is awesome. Wifi through out the whole resort. Would recommend anyone to stay here! You'll enjoy it!
Review 84:The room was poor. The towels and the sheets were not always clean. Wifi was also poor and slow.
Review 85:Location was perfect. 5-10minutes walk to the monkey forest and close to good restaurants!breakfast was good: buffet and the staff was ok! For staying in Ubud i would recommend it!
Review 86:Missing out of emails prior to arrival, promised airport pick-up but never turned up, staff not smiling or being particularly attentive in restaurant, door has huge gap so don't feel not secure, no latching chain inside door, very noisy ventilation fan in bathroom, no free mineral water, information incomplete in guest manual in room
Review 87:Location, pool, garden
Review 88:Wifi can be a bit slow.
Review 89:Just about everything. Staff very friendly. They always greeted me with a smile. Love the little towel animals left by the cleaning folks. Beautiful landscaping. Very helpful when I needed a driver (Made was great). Thank you.
Review 90:The hotel spa is abit too far to me. But the price is reasonable. The pillow they provided is not very good....smelly. i have to cover it with the towel before i sleep. That's unpleasant. Others is very good. Recommended! !!
Review 91:Spacious and good location.
Review 92:This was our second stay at Pertiwi. It was clean and comfortable, and remarkably quiet, even though it's on a busy street in central Ubud. We found it great value for money and we would definitely stay there again on a return visit.
Review 93:The breakfast was terrible the buffet had no covers and flys swarming all over it. Disgusting!!!!! Also the bathroom should be cleaned better there was mould on the walls
Review 94:The garden and resort grounds were beautiful, also the room was very spacious, comfortable and decorated nicely.
Review 95:terrible wifi signal, sometime cannot connect to the internet, even connect but very poor signal.Give feedback, the receiptionist said " I can do nothing about that" no TV remote controller, call for it, wait for long time but got no feedback.
Review 96:good location
Review 97:The location, the staff, the beautiful grounds and facilities. I stayed in a one bedroom pool villa which was great. This is a 3+ star resort so don't expect everything you'd get at a 5+ star resort
Review 98:The rooms are old. Very big but not properly furnished and decorated, they could do it much better. The toilets are old and with no natural light.
Review 99:It is right in the middle of ubud shopping and main area, next to the minjey forest and all the restaurants and shops. Has 2 nice swimmingpools and a nice big garden.
Review 100:Room condition fairly poor, dirty and dated bathroom, clunky old A/C
Review 101:Location Facilities such as swimming pools, communal grounds Private balcony Good value for area
Review 102:Super deluxe room decor a little tired. Very high step up into shower over bath. Steep pathways - would be difficult for mobility impaired, but golf cart transport available on request.
Review 103:Vibrant location, restaurants shops etc. Beautiful gardens and 2 pools. Hospitable staff, adequate breakfast. Reasonable price
Review 104:beds quite hard wifi could be slow and temperamental pools a bit warm for hot environment so didn't really cool you down
Review 105:location is awesome food was fantastic staff were so lovely
Review 106:No wifi in our room, room was tiny, extra bed was a rickety camp bed that cost us the same price as a regular bed, lots of ants in the room and around pool area. Reception staff didn't speak English well and weren't very helpful. Not good value for money.
Review 107:Central Location and swimming pool was very nice
Review 108:Could offer fresh toaster at breakfast.
Review 109:A good location central to all good in ubud. Lovely staff. Helpful. Gorgeous grounds. I'd stay again. Rice fields behind.
Review 110:The older rooms need refurbishment and a bar or restaurant is missing by the main pool.
Review 111:Excellent location with friendly staff. The newer rooms are good.
Review 112:TV reception is poor in the rooms and only cable. Both pool areas could benefit from more loungers.
Review 113:the hotel is a stone throw away from the Monkey sanctuary, plenty of restaurants/ cafes and shops. Hotel rooms are nice, clean and spacious. the hotel has two pool the front is busy and by the bar, the rear is quiet so you can chose the best to fit your needs.
Review 114:The pool where amazing Good restaurant Happy staff Beautiful gardens Very large rooms We had a fabulous time x best holiday and pertiwi was very much a part of that. Safe and secluded and amazing for kids.
Review 115:Bathrooms in the two rooms I stayed in had a lot of mould around bath, walls, ceiling and shower curtain.i consider this a health hazard and told them so.
Review 116:Location is central.gardens beautiful.breakfast good.
Review 117:Dirty. It is not even close to the pics you see on Booking. Those were nice, and it looked new. The bedrooms are old (they showed us another bedroom when we asked for a change), and dirty. They also gave us one very far from the exit and front desk. We literally had to walk a steep path for close to 10 mins to get there. Sheets had gray marks, they were old. When we asked them to change sheets they came twice with dirty sheets again. Horrible experience.
Review 118:Staff were nice and patient. The hotel location was great, close to everything a tourist needs.
Review 119:Just the wi fi doesn't work in my room
Review 120:Very friendly and helpful staff!! Room always clean..they check the room every morning..the resort was very close to the monkey forest and the ubud market!! I've very enjoyed my time and the staff was beautiful!!! I recommend to the people this resort, witch was the best on the street! I will for sure come back another time. I felt at home..very quiet and safe place! Thank you so much! I am 100% satisfied!!!
Review 121:The prices for everything- accommodation, spa services (if it was open), food, not much hot water, spa was closed for renovation,my window did not lock properly. They were not accomodation with refunds.
Review 122:The location, the grounds, the helpful staff
Review 123:Not stay longer.
Review 124:The landscaping of the resort. The 2nd swimming pool which is bigger and deeper has plenty of space to swim. Both of me and my dad were very happy with that.
Review 125:The room was the dirtiest I've ever stayed in. There were moles in the bathroom and all sorts of insects crawling around. And there were very obvious dirt and stains on the bed sheet, bed cover and both of the pillows. For all the five days that I stayed there, I've never got one clean towel. All the towels given were stained and torn on the edges. It really disgusted me. For the amount of money that I paid, I at least expected clean bedding and fresh towels everyday.I think the housekeeping staff need some serious training or maybe the management just have really low standard. Will not recommend this resort to others. Not worth the money.
Review 126:The location was great, close to both monkey forest and ubud palace. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the resort itself was beautiful, with two nice swimming pools and lots of greeneries.
Review 127:Wifi in room could have been better. Could do with satellite TV
Review 128:Pool areas where lovely. Rooms large with nice bathroom. Location very good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 129:Although in a beautiful setting, the undulations of the facility might make it difficult for people with pushers, wheelchairs and small children to get about. Having said that, a driver and golf cart are always available to transport you.
Review 130:Beautiful gardens. Nice pools. Friendly, helpful staff. Ideal location. Large, spacious .rooms
Review 131:The room we were in constantly smelt mouldy and the beds weren't very comfortable. They didn't come pick up our room service plates for over 24 hours.
Review 132:I like the layout of the resort. The buffet breakfast wasn't too bad either.
Review 133:not enough sunbeds by pools, no trip brochures, no television reception, refridgerator was iced up, very steep paths and not enough electric carts to carry my old body around
Review 134:quietness, privacy, great breakfasts, clean, excellent bidets, central location , friendly, helpful staff,it was a pleasure to stay and we shall stay again if we get the chance, - better than champlung and ubud village by miles.
Review 135:The bathroom shower drain had an unpleasant smell, the towels were a bit worn and thin, some of the pathways through the resort were very steep
Review 136:The room and its location, the beautiful gardens, the wonderful staff, the nice restaurant and bar with seating overlooking Monkey Forest Road, the nice pool
Review 137:The breakfast was average. The food were cold, bacon were overcooked, overall the quality of the breakfast buffet would benefit if improved. Coffee offered during breakfast should not be charged. Service shuts at 10pm which was frustrating as we had run out of milk for our baby and couldn't get any on the premise, so we had to purchase milk on the main strip in the middle of the night!
Review 138:The gardens and surrounds are impeccable and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and always willing to assist and attend to our requirements. It felt like a tropical oasis in the middle of the busy Monkey Forest Street.
Review 139:The hotel staff was overall unprepared and unattentive: they sent us to the wrong room when we arrived; we requested twice a technician to fix a problem in one of the doors of our room, which wasn't closing properly, but no one appeared till the end of our stay; the receptionist refused to call a taxi when we were leaving the hotel and forced us to hire a driver who charged a higher price to take us to the airport. Wi-fi signal was terrible, we could barely use the internet inside the room, and it was difficult even at the lobby. The doors and ceiling of the room weren't totally impermeable, which allowed a number of mosquitoes to come into the room and even a sort of lizard during one night, which frightened us. The breakfast had limited options. Ultimately, even though the villa was a beautiful and relaxing place, the service of the hotel was very poor and certainly not worth the large sum of money that we paid for it.
Review 140:We stayed in a beautiful and comfortable villa with a private pool. Location was good, near nice restaurants, bars, stores and cultural attractions.
Review 141:This is not a 4* hotel and is priced as if it was. Price above average price-to-quality in Bali. Cleanliness could improve much, the breakfast buffet variety is poor and the wifi is not enough to browse the web, only for small data consuming such as whatsapp, line, etc...
Review 142:Location was great, the facilities are beautiful and the pool has a great touch.
