Reviews for Agamemnon Hotel
Review 1:Mostly awful breakfast (apart from bread and sweets). No boiling water at breakfast (hottish water kept in jugs until it ran out, waiter uncooperative on this issue). Prepackaged honey from Thessalia in honey-country. Abysmal scrambled eggs. Rude waiter who lectured guests no to drop food near dispenser. No kettle in room or to borrow from reception. Clean but really needs to be refurbished. Paid same money for much nicer roomin Athens near the Acropolis.
Review 2:Location - just by the bay. Lovely view. Cleaned daily. Mostly friendly staff.
Review 3:The hotel looks a bit old-fashioned.
Review 4:Ideally situated, next to the see and the old town. Nice breakfast. We went off season and the prices was really good.
Review 5:Decoration of the reception area is not Greek, but the name of the hotel is from Greek history.
Review 6:Wonderfull location, gorgeous view from our balcony and breakfast space, polite and helpful staff.
Review 7:The view we had from our room and also from the breakfast area. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We had lots of space in our room. We especially appreciated having a 6am breakfast arranged for us on our day of departure. If ever again in Nafplio will stay there.
Review 8:The reception is really nice and helpful, when I and my friend arrived and checked in, the reception gave us a map and introduced highlights of Nafplio and some worth-to-go places out of Nafplio, that's really great!
Review 9:there are absolutely no available parking faculities anywhere near that hotel, and it was nerve recking to drive around the congested town to find anywhere to put the car. I tried to cancel a second booking I had for that hotel, and they insisted to charge cancellation fee, claiming that it was dictated by Booking.com and not by the hotel.
Review 10:No parking, so difficult to find a parking space within easy walking distance of the hotel - you just park on the pavement and hope !
Review 11:Stunning balcony views over the harbour and bay, very comfortable and staff very accommodating. Quiet part of town and within easy access of shops, old parts and harbour. Good restaurants very close (in fact just outside).
Review 12:We only had a hick up with the direction of the street traffic when getting to the hotel, and the lack of parking but we were able to find a parking area relatively close to the hotel.
Review 13:We appreciated that it was in a perfect location to explore the area. The room was spacious, clean and very functional. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Review 14:The WiFi worked and was indeed free but the signal was at times a bit weak.
Review 15:Very helpful staff, fantastic location on the waterfront and a 2 minute walk from the central square, excellent breakfast.
Review 16:European large double sized bed meant two single beds with their own set of sheets stuck together. Late night front desk staff did not know that the second biggest attraction of the town was closed at the time of our visit and provided wrong information.
Review 17:Simply the best view of the sunset by the water (room 205). Great location plus friendly and helpful front desk staff during the day.
Review 18:The only thing I did not like was that I booked a sea view room and got one on the side of the building. You could still see the sea from the balcony but I would rather differentiate the room type and describe it as a side sea view, like many hotels do. However, after I raised my concern with the reception staff I had the room changed to the one that was facing the sea directly. That's a huge plus and I was very happy about this.
Review 19:I booked this hotel because the one I stayed at last time got closed. It was a bit over my usual budget but the location convinced me it's worth it. With a balcony overlooking the Bourtzi castle it was a stunning view, making me want to just sit there and enjoy it. The staff was very helpful and nice. Rooms clean and spacious. Buffet breakfast with a good variety of food to suit everyone's needs. Although it's possible to find some parking places around the hotel, I chose to leave my car in the big parking near the port, it's a walking distance.
Review 20:It was little bit noisy with other guest coming in late and being loud, it seemed that noise travelled through the hotel.
Review 21:We really enjoyed our stay at Agememnon the location was beautiful the breakfast was great and staff were friendly and helpful, defiantly stay there again.
Review 22:I found one man in the reseption a bit rude, but the other staff was amazing! Our room was a bit noisy with paperthin walls between the rooms and a vibrant nightlife just outside our balcony. Our room also had an ant invasion.
Review 23:The hotel is situated by the water with the nicest view that melted my heart. The room was cleaned every day with new towels, and we got new shampoo and soap three times during our 8 nights. Staff and help in the reseption 24/7.
Review 24:Parking near the hotel isn't possible, we had to drive around for 15 min to find a parking space 1km away. The internet didn't work in the rooms at all, only in the lobby.
Review 25:Wonderful location at the port in the center of Nafplio. The room -without balcony- was small, but clean. The staff was friendly and courteous.
Review 26:Shower was a bit small, but good water pressure. Also, walls are a bit thin.
Review 27:We liked the location, view from balcony, comfort of bed, and variety of breakfast choices.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:Everything about this hotel was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room including bed was comfy. We stayed here 3 nights and were very happy. Had beaut views over the harbour from our balcony.
Review 30:Hotel is a 5 min walk from the bus station and a 2 min walk from all the restaurants and shops in the old town. We travelled to Nafplio for the weekend without a car and the location of the hotel helped a lot- we could even pop in and out of the hotel during the day. The building is old and it is on a busy street thus don't expect a soundproof stay. However the rooms are clean, come with renovated bathrooms, the staff are very helpful and friendly and there for you 24/7. Breakfast is decent and they actually even serve local cheese and spinach pie.
Review 31:Only 5 TV channels, and only one in English. One day there was noisy guests with children on my floor and noisy people playing music across the street. Other nights rather quiet.
Review 32:The hotel is by the seaside, looking out to the Bay of Argolis and a small Venetian island-fort, and 600 m. from the bus station to/from Athens and elsewhere. Also a number of cafe-restaurants right next to the hotel. Good breakfast buffet, including English breakfast, with view to the sea. Large room. Helpfull staff.
Review 33:Breakfast very basic, but lots of alternative eating places in the vicinity. Parking difficult, but nearly always available further up the hill in Psaromachala Square, short walk down steps back to hotel.
Review 34:Used as a base for touring the Peloponnese for one week. The west facing sea-view balconies provide great views with very little noise from the harbor front cafes. Renovated bathroom, beds & individual air conditioning all worked well. Safe key free from reception. Fridge in room. Cheap beer available from stall immediately outside hotel.
Review 35:Parking is not. With time and complex managed to place most convenient place. :)
Review 36:Very responsive staff, good breakfast, wifi. Old Town itself. Thank you!
Review 37:Our first floor sea view room had the closest sea view of any hotel in town, just like the advertising picture. Beautiful town to explore. Many interesting excursions possible.
Review 38:There is free public parking in the area, it is on the port but at about a 100 meter walking distance. Not a big problem, just a point.
Review 39:The view from our room was excellent overlooking the sea. Staff was friendly. Hotel is only 5 minutes to walk to the main attraction center of the town. And the town is very nice.
Review 40:we don't have been lucky because there were a group of student, they have to disturbed until the 3 o'clock and the owner don't has been able to keep the peace !
Review 41:the hotel is comfortable, good value
Review 42:The breakfast room waiter chasing away the guests at ten thirty- hilarious.
Review 43:It's like having a home in the best location in Nafplion. Excellent reception staff.
Review 44:Very cold in the room. We travelled in middle of March and it was very cold even with heating. I guess it was because the hotel was next to sea. But for summer it would be perfect.
Review 45:Location is very good only 5 minut from bus station and next to high street. Breakfast is also good, we only missed fresh vegetables. Room is clean and spacious.
Review 46:The parking may be a challenge even the staff try hardly to help since the hotel has no private parking. The room is half renovated so, it has a strange look. Poor WiFI signal.
Review 47:Excellent location in the middle of the old town, very good breakfast, helpfully staff, English speakers. Excellent view for rooms facing the sea.
Review 48:1. WI FI was not consistently available. 2. Sounds and smoke traveled from room to room. One night we had a smoker and cougher next door but I would definitely stay here again
Review 49:1.I can't tell you how much I loved the view. It was like being on a boat for the week. 2. Great mattress 3. Good breakfast. Many options including fresh oranges and pears 4. Heater in room to take the chill off before a shower on cool mornings 5. Helpful staff 6. Location was quiet - little noise from the waterfront tavernas and no street noise
Review 50:Nothing !!
Review 51:The views from the bedrooms and dining room as the Hotel is right on a pedestrianised water-front. A short walk into town where there are plenty of excellent tavernas and cafe-bars. The breakfast provided a very good selection. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, upgrading our sons to a sea front room as there Hotel wasn't full. We will certainly stay again when next in Nafplio.
Review 52:We stayed here for 3 nights and it did rain heavily on 1 of the nights with lightening and thuderstorms. The balcony does not have any protection to avoid the rain water coming into the room. Our room was flooded with water in few hours which the staff did clean up when we complained.
Review 53:We stayed in sea view room and had a spectacular view of the harbour. Very good breakfast in a big room overlooking promonade and the sea. Restaurants and market just couple of mins walk away. Mycenae and Epidaurus are in the radius of 30-35 miles drive
Review 54:The breakfast (included) was not as good as at other hotels I stayed in this trip. For example, there was no honey available with the yoghurt - unheard of in Greece!
Review 55:The location. It's in the old part of town, close to the seafront and restaurants, shopping, etc. great walking area!
Review 56:Woke up with bites all up my leg and back. Told reception and they insinuated I was lying and said they would do nothing. When I was walking by later that morning they stopped me and asked to see the bites. After I went to the back room and pulled up my dress to show, they refunded my room but were still insisting it couldn't have happened from sleeping in their bed. They said they'd have someone inspect the mattress and let me know what they found. Never heard anything. I get that infestations sometimes happen despite best efforts, but their attitude about it was awful. Obviously I checked out that day. Took weeks for the bites to fade.
Review 57:Good location
Review 58:We were happy with everything.
Review 59:The view of the castle in the harbor from our balcony was fantastic, as we requested a harbor front room. The town was lovely with a good archeological museum, huge castle on the hill behind, and can drive to many archeological sites. There is a long paved scenic walk on the shore.
Review 60:parking and getting to it was a nightmare. Had to park 200 metres from the hotel in a public carpark for the one of the tourist sites in the town and then it was pot luck that I got there just as someone left.
Review 61:Location was excellent right on the harbour front.
Review 62:really small bathroom
Review 63:Good room, SMALL bathroom Convenient Nicely situated in city centre and at border of sea (no swimming) and terraces Sufficient (free-of-charge) parking possible
Review 64:Lino flooring and tacky furniture but the view and location far outweigh this and both beds and bathrooms have been upgraded so comfortable.
Review 65:Stunning view from our room (we moved during our stay and the lateral sea view is not to be compared with room directly on the promenade).
Review 66:Parking was a bit of an issue as the town was very busy on the weekend, but we did find some close to the hotel after a bit of driving around. It wasn't a deal breaker for us, as we are used to the parking situation in European cities.
Review 67:The location, right on the waterfront, was beautiful! Within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants and picturesque piazzas. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the room, though a bit on the small, spartan side, was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet was varied and delicious.
Review 68:We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast excellent, the view of the Bourtzi and the harbour from our balcony.
Review 69:This was a nice surprise for us. The Hotel was in an ideal position on the sea front but not too close to the noisier night life. We were able to park our motorcycle right outside the window of the breakfast room.
Review 72:Good location, easy to reach , even by car. Very nice sea view. Good breakfast. The staff was very cooperative and helped with everything we needed.
Review 73:Doesnt give me impression of 3★ hotel. Room no decorated at all. Very noisy and very thin walls. The gap under door, very annoying.
Review 74:Amazing sea view from balcony. Fair breakfast. Helpfull staff.
Review 75:almost nothing
Review 76:Very friendly staff, great rooms , invest some 10 $ mor for seaview, the hotel is directly on the seafront better accessible by car than most others... we parked the car nearby it was no problem
Review 77:we could not locate the hotel from the address given and ended up driving in circles thro narrow streets in the wrong area. When I phoned in desperation I was told the correct address in a completely different area and it was explained that the were required to give their business address and not location address. Very frustrating late in the afternoon after a long drive. Why should I be given any other address than where the hotel is located i wonder Difficult parking to add to this so late in the day which took another 45 minutes off our receeding sunset evening stroll.
Review 78:totally perfect position on the waterfront of this beautiful town which we loved.
Review 79:Although you can access the front door of the hotel for loading/unloading your car, finding a place to park within a 700 metres area from it can be a problem... You'll have to do some walking. :)
Review 80:Great position, right in front of the sea! Extremely kind staff. Clean and quiet room. Good breakfast.
Review 81:Breakfast could have done with some more fresh fruit but good quality
Review 82:Lovely spot in Nafplion, right on the sea front, with a lovely sea view. Everything close by in the town. Hotel staff helpful and friendly.
Review 83:The TV is so small , and the internet was not fast as well.
Review 84:I liked the location. It was near the beach. Everything you need is approachable, restaurants, shops, banks and everything. I liked the people in the reception.
Review 85:Older rooms didn't have air conditioning that actually worked. Older rooms had yucky bathrooms with difficult-to-use showers. Felt like a step up from camping.
Review 86:Wonderful breakfast, good location, nice view from sea view rooms .
Review 87:Little bit old furnishioned, but no problem. Car parking usually in walking distance (200-300 m).
Review 88:Location - in the city centre, but hiden from the noise. Bufet breakfast
Review 89:Only complaint was that we were misdirected by one of the members of staff to the beach - otherwise a very pleasant stay.
Review 90:Perfect location with nice views, and friendly/helpful staff. Room was a little basic but fine for the price and with very efficient air con, and the breakfast was also good for the price.
Review 91:non smoking room located extreme back corner next to housekeeping office and closet. very outdated. no shower curtain in tub/shower.
Review 92:beds were comfortable, good air conditioning, bathroom roomier than most.
Review 93:The hot shower was warm and not hot. The drinking water in the free breakfast was smelly and had bad taste.
Review 94:All in all is good.
Review 95:location,
Review 96:Very small lift. Only just big enough for two people and luggage.
Review 97:Great location, wonderful view, spacious comfortable room.
Review 98:Can`t really think of anything. Parts of the hotel looking a bit tired.
Review 99:Location of course, unbeatable. Staff excellent and with good English.
Review 100:Slow wifi
Review 101:A bit tricky to reach by car. We ended up parking a few hundred meters away.
Review 102:Great location on the waterfront. Good size room.
Review 103:perfect location in relation to the sea and the town.
Review 104:The floor could have been cleaner
Review 105:The location and view were wonderful
Review 106:Nothing!
Review 107:Position and really helpful and friendly staff, size of room and the balcony was a huge bonus.
Review 108:Minimal storage but not a problem for short stays.
Review 109:View to die for, therefore second visit. Basic but clean and comfortable.
Review 110:There is no parking area
Review 111:Staff and location were excellent and friendly. If I visit again Nafplio, I definitely will stay in Agamemnon Hotel
Review 112:breakfast,very poor
Review 113:Great location, friendly and helpful staff
Review 114:Position of the hotel in the city center near the sea, the view from the window were excelent. All in all it is a very nice hotel.
Review 115:Below average wifi, breakfast not impressive
Review 116:Location was great
Review 117:Excellent location at the right price.
Review 118:Good advice from the desk about the city and beach.
Review 119:The staff is very attentive and polite, the view out of the room was amazing (promenade, sea, Venetian castle, hills). Everything was great!!!
Review 120:Parking is not exactly next to the hotel, but it is ok, only a few minutes away.
Review 121:Location is great and view, next to restaurants and promenade.
Review 122:Staff, breakfast, parking is in street
Review 123:Location
Review 124:Location. View. Friendly staff
Review 125:Excellent views and excellent breakfasts!
Review 126:A bit dated. Ask for a room with a shower instead of a bathtub.
Review 127:Close to the walking area of old Town.
Review 128:Holle gangen met klappende deuren
Review 129:Zeezicht kamer, grote kamer met badkamer met douchecabine.Aan de boulevard , rand centrum.Goed ontbijt.
Review 130:Breakfast, Good service, Location
