Reviews for Casa Di Mezzo

Review 1:We had problems with heateing system, the managers were not available (nor possible to call them!!!!) cause it was holiday!

Review 2:Wonderfull position, beatiful view of the Church square and of the presepe

Review 3:the check in counter is just next to train station, but you might be challenged by a long sloping way to get to the right apartment

Review 4:Staff was very helpful and kind, Big facilitated room. Clean

Review 5:Kind of an odd and very minor issue, but unlocking the door was a little complicated. Wish the staff had explained better (one key can alter two locks depending on which way you twist).

Review 6:Very clean, updated, modern apartment that manages to mix-well with the old-school style of the town. Check in was fairly painless and everything was as-advertised or better. Very spacious, very clean, full facilities, terrace with an amazing view, great location.

Review 7:The furniture and kitchen utensils in the apartment are in a bad state and very battered, they could really use an upgrade. The table was practically falling apart and the coffee pot did not have a handle. The general cleanliness of the apartment can also be improved.

Review 8:The view from the balcony is the best thing of the apartment, truly breathtaking. The size of the apartment is comfortable for four people. The attention of the staff upon arrival was very good and helpful.

Review 9:The apartment was small, outdated and not very clean. The kitchen and bathroom were the worst by far of any places we stayed on this trip.

Review 10:The view out the window was superb.

Review 11:It appeared to us from the picture that there is a private patio. If this is important to you, ask before you book, and you can upgrade. We had a seaview, but it was past the footpath, beyond a wall, not a patio. The found the rate pricey. This was the most expensive hotel in our three week stay in Italy, exceeding the cost of the four star hotel in Milan.

Review 12:After the initial disappointment of not having a patio, we settled in to the comfort of the roomy superior studio. There actually is a full bedroom adjoining the living area and lots of space to spread out stuff. We followed the directions sent to us after the booking and the check in went smoothly. We found the studio clean and tidy, contrary to the experience of other reviewers. The requested wifi on booking was in place and reliable.

Review 13:We were on the main street near two restaurants. The first night there was a lot of noise till 2 am. It was very hard to sleep. The other nights were fine once the restaurants were closed.

Review 14:The house was in the center of town near the train station .The place was very clean and spacious. It was very easy to get to everything.

Review 15:The place was dirty and shabby, with stains on the walls, peeling paint and aggressive notes warning of fines if the trash was not removed etc., the shower ran cold after a few minutes, cleaning equipment was left lying around in the entrance, toilet holder was broken, no light in the fridge, heating didn't work... Extremely poor value for money.

Review 16:The view was best part of the apartment.

Review 17:The steep long climb to the apartment, would be OK for younger couple. Bathroom very pokey and shower very small. Would have liked a welcoming tray of tea, coffee & sugar for a first cuppa on arrival

Review 18:Comfortable bed, great views. Equipped kitchen and stove.

Review 19:There are 15 mins walk/ climbing from the train station, we have luggages and baby stroller, it was not easy way to get there. And there is no taxi/ car to book, especially during weekends.

Review 20:We stay two nights at Manarola, the house is very spacious and convenient, with extra bed, kitchen and balcony on the top level.

Review 21:Our deck was a little small and the chairs less comfortable to "lounge" in.

Review 22:Great quiet and tranquil location and a wonderful view of the Ocean and harbor.

Review 23:A one bedroom turned into a two bedroom by using the lounge room as a bedroom. Had not been cleaned properly. Fittings low quality i.e. draws and doors do not fit properly. Lighting inadequate to shave or for the women put makeup on.

Review 24:Location was good

Review 25:Could not find any wifi. We had to carry our luggage a long way from the place where we could park our car.

Review 26:Clean rooms at central location. Friendly, helpful staff.

Review 27:The staff knew we were driving but did not warn us about a road closurewhen we spoke from the car, we lost almost an hour detouring and thatcould have easily been avoided with a simple heads up.

Review 28:We loved the apartment - it had a gorgeous view, a little balcony, andwas clean, large, well equipped, and in a perfect location. Manarola issuper cute. The staff was helpful and friendly, and gave us a greatrestaurant recommendation! Really a spectacular rental, what a gem.

Review 29:2 women ,3 nights We were provided with on e bar of soap about 2 inches long and paper thin. Shampoo was not provided though there was intimate wash for women. 2 towels each for all 3 nights, our request for additional towels was denied. The electrical outlets and thermostat were dangling from the wall. The room was listed as having a sea view, our room was facing a wall. The icing on the cake was a cockroach.

Review 30:We did not have any bad experiences.

Review 31:We enjoyed the location of this apartment. We were able to witness fabulous sunsets each night. The outside area was lovely.

Review 32:Lunch on balcony watching all passing by. Hot Sun by the waterfront. WIFI available free at local shop hotspot. Close to restaurants so not too much walking for oldies like us.

Review 33:1)no private parking offered!!we parked, however our car to the public parking which is about 20€ per day and 2€ per hour.safe and worthy! 2)no wifi!!!!!!they told us there is only one router for all the apartments they offer, with a limited access, that was already overcosted by the previous clients!!!!! 3)not clean!tones of dust and stains on the floor!!!! 4)when I made the reservation I emailed them twice and I never received an answer till I emailed "booking"!!!!

Review 34:Staying in Manarola is the Best choice in order to visit the "cinque Terre park".from Manarola one minute access to riomaggiore by train.

Review 35:The apartment we got wasn't well clean, the kitchen oven didn't work, and there was no wifi in the house as

Review 36:Location is good, near the center of Manarola.

Review 37:i think we got some spider bites in our room but otherwise nothing!

Review 38:We had a huge apartment and had no idea that's what we were getting. The staff was very helpful and walked us down to our apartment near the sea, they brought down a wireless router for us to have wifi. The place had a kitchen and living room and two bedrooms. It was amazing, clean, roomy, and right on the Main Street of manarola with a balcony overlooking it. We absolutely loved it!

Review 39:The only complaint we have is that the bed was very hard and the pillows were old and lumpy. We had a very poor first night's sleep due to this so pulled out the futon in the living room which was more comfortable. This also gave us a view over the ocean from bed which was terrific!

Review 40:The location and view was superb. The terrace is tiny but the view is breathtaking! The apartment was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. A new coffee/espresso machine appeared one day which was appreciated!

Review 41:Towels in kitchen were not clean, nor was dishcloth. Fairly steep climb to the apartment so if your luggage is large and heavy, need to take it slow!

Review 42:The location is superb! Small terrace (truly small but fits 2 comfortably) overlooking the ocean was a breathtaking view. Sounds of ocean made the stay special. Bed was very firm but sheets clean, as was the apartment. Great air conditioner! Would rent it again in a heartbeat! Wonderful memory of Cinque Terre!

Review 43:First off, this place was absolutely filthy. I don't think its been cleaned in weeks. After just crawling around for half an hour, my daughters knees, feet and hands were black. This is not an exaggeration. This quilt had stains on it, the kitchen garbage had not been taken out from the previous guest, and the bathroom had mold in it. We also paid 10 euros a night for a crib that was broken on one side. the mirrors had not been wiped down in ages. There were dirty fingerprints around every knob and handle all over the house. The walls were full of scuff marks and dirt. I can't believe we paid 960 euros for 5 days to stay in this filth.

Review 44:Free wifi, somewhat of an ocean view, patio/terrace.

Review 45:The staff originally tried to overcharge us with a late check in fee. There were some fees involved that were not mentioned up front, but they were minimal after we had a discussion with them.

Review 46:Unique place - very comfortable and clean.

Review 47:Very very small apartment what we didn't mind and already expected but the shower was too small. Couldnt even turn around and after a shower the entire floor was wet (luckily one towel covers the entire badroom floor). I think the pictures are very disceiving because they show a room with sea view instead of a room with just one window with a view of 1 meter on another building.

Review 48:Very friendly staff and they guided us to our appartement which was located only a few hundred meters from the sea.

Review 49:Unfriendly welcome, no view from the room, very basic furniture in the room. Fridge was not working. No good value for money.

Review 50:Location close to the sea

Review 51:This flat needs a complete electrical update - everything runs off a couple of power bars. Decor was tired and drab. A bowl under the kitchen sink catches water from dripping taps and needs to be emptied regularly. Kitchen was poorly organized. The bedspreads were stained and dish linens were inadequate. Musty smelling wardrobes (we couldn't unpack). Flat was dirty and dusty. We were really quite disappointed.

Review 52:The location in Manarola was absolutely fantastic. Incredible views! The office staff was helpful and welcoming.

Review 53:Unfortunately we cannot say many positives about the room. We had the one that was a cave. And yes, just like a cave its damp and it smells like one too. So powerful was the stench upon entering every time, we had to leave the front door open to air it out. The insense that is mentioned in previous reviews was left empty in the bedroom and the request to have it replaced was not fulfilled. They did however provide ant spray for the infestation in our room. There is no air-con, only the noisiest fan I have ever come across. The wi-fi barely worked. For how much this cost - it's not worth it!

Review 54:I can only comment positively on how amazing the staff were. They allowed us (after checking out) to make a critical international phone call. Lifesavers!

Review 55:Ants, ants, and just too many ants! We had to throw away the breakfast croissant bought the evening before. Cannot put food (especially sweets) just on the table.

Review 56:The apartment locates in a quiet area. It is near the sea side, village center (small supermarket), and also very close to the best restaurant of Manarola! Even without air conditioning, one does not feel hot in the rooms if the windows are closed.

Review 57:NO OCEAN VIEW AS SHOWN IN PHOTOGRAPH. Dirty kitchen clothes, very outdated kitchen and very old kitchen cutlery and crockery, no aircon, no TV, no rubbish bins had to remove own rubbish, towels only changed after 6 days stay

Review 58:Comfortable beds and fluffy towels; Manarola itself is really fantastic and the swimming is awesome! Restaurants provided great service! Enjoyed the Cinque Terre walk! Having a washing machine was a plus

Review 59:Nothing.

Review 60:Everything. We had not one bad experience while we travelled through Manarola. The room originally came with no Wifi but they supplied a mobile router free of charge. I'd highly rate this apartment as one of the best in the region of Cinque Terre. Thank you so much.

Review 61:Bedroom was "cave-like" which was very cool, however, very stale and wet. Had to change the humidifier every few hours. Smelled dank and musty

Review 62:Awesome location and views

Review 63:Apartment was a little dated, be prepared to carry suitcases a long way - not the hotels fault and they did offer to assist.

Review 64:Location and view was amazing! Close enough into main centre but far enough not to hear too much noise. Neighbour was very friendly, as were staff. Safe secure parking, at a cost but worth it.

Review 65:Kitchen setup was not great if you wanted to cook an evening meal Hotch potch of cutlery and crockery Not fantastic on cleanliness

Review 66:Excellent view Lovely authentic atmosphere being able to sleep with doors open can see view from bed

Review 67:Some dishes were not washed well. No wifi. No air conditioning - was extremely hot during our visit.

Review 68:Spacious apartment right on main street of beautiful Manarola. What else can you ask for!

Review 69:No housekeeping service. The towels were small. We ran out of TP.

Review 70:Unique apartment carved into the side of the mountain. Fully equipped kitchen; chic Italian decor. No windows but outside our doorway was a walkway with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean.

Review 71:Manarola was by far our favourite of the 5 Terres. This apartment had a beautiful view of the village overlooking the ocean, and was only a short walk in either direction for swimming and for hiking up through the vineyards and goat trails. Would definitely stay again!

Review 72:The kitchen appliances and furniture was 3rd rate, particularly when the rents are akin to Venice. There were also a lack of power points, so using appliances required switching plugs. For the cost of a few days rent these could be improved considerably. It diminished what is an otherwise charming apartment.

Review 73:LOcation is good, overlooking the Piazza. Access is very good for Cinque Terre, which is generally difficult. Parking available 250m away.

Review 74:Ok the bedroom was damp but it was a cave after all and there is a handy dehumidifier provided by the lovely owners

Review 75:It was a cave at the top of the hill! Stunning views. What more could you ask for?

Review 76:Over half of the mechants were not friendly to tourists and treated you like they were better. All the towns in Cinque Terre are getting run down and felt more like Mexico vs the other 4 Europe countries we visited.

Review 77:Location and swimming in the sea. Good Restaurants by the water for breakfast and evening meal. Best ones were closest to water

Review 78:First they had forgotten our booking but they managed to sort it out after a while. The view from the room was OK but could have been better. Badrummet var väldigt litet.

Review 79:It was easy walking downtown and we didn't have to go up that big hill but instead got a room further down, closer to the sea.

Review 80:We were expecting 2 bathrooms, but the one we had was clean and convenient. The cutlery, cups and crockery were dirty and we had to wash everything before we could use it. There either needs to be a dishwasher installed, or the kitchen cleaned properly, including washing dishes between guests.

Review 81:It was a very comfortable apartment with lovely views. The steps were tiring, but I understand that is the nature of the place. The staff were friendly and kept up good communication before we arrived. We appreciated the help with our baggage on arrival.

Review 82:The kitchen could have been a little better equiped. It had an oven which was great but no toaster and no microwave. Also, like everywhere in the cinque Terre it was a little pricey. However overall it was very good and I would stay here again.

Review 83:This apartment had an amazing location in the town of Manarola. We had a little balcony overlooking the sea and it was magnificent. The beds were comfortable, the wifi worked well and check in was a breeze

Review 84:Here is the list in order of importance to us. The apartment had not been cleaned when we checked in and we did not tell them until the next day. They got right on it once they knew, our bad not to say something right way. When you make a reservation they are not clear as to it's location. Our apartment has two major flaws. The apartment overlooks the Duomo piazza. The patio is less than 50 feet from the bell tower. IT IS LOUD. The other down side is 5 floors of stairs to carry your luggage up. And as beautiful as Manarola is, it is all up hill. Be in shape, it's a workout just to go from breakfast to your room.

Review 85:Each room had a balcony, The upstairs part is a kitchen and has a very large deck with a great view.

Review 86:The musty damp smell, the dark and dated decor. The lack of wifi as well.

Review 87:The location was good and the linen was clean. Nice to sit of the balcony and watch the town go about its business.

Review 88:No reception desk/staff after 6:30 pm, apartment needs some TLC and a refresh, bathroom fan (which came on with light) sounded like a jet plane.

Review 89:The view was great from small balcony

Review 90:The shower kept flooding everytime we had a shower. Water temperature was difficult to regulate. Shower wasn't big enough to bend over in!

Review 91:The location was great. There were some great eating places nearby. The train station was in short walking distance.

Review 92:Stairs. You need to like church bells, you're even with the bell tower and they do ring all day. Wi-Fi was spotty - I read that before going. It worked the afternoon of our last day, but the staff tried to get it working on the first day. Take it as an opportunity to unplug and relax.

Review 93:Very comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchen (it had everything). GREAT terrace to sit on outside the kitchen. The 2 floor apartment is at the top of a building so there are 4 flights of stairs - but that gives you the view.

Review 94:We did not like the cleansiness. Kitchen cupboard not clean . Dusty wicker bedside drawers. Ornamental cushion for the bed not on the bed. Why have it stuffed on a shelf. If the bed had not been made I would have had the impression that the unit had not been cleaned between guests. Floors dirty and gritty. Our feet got dirty walking on the floor.

Review 95:Love the view and the space of the apartment

Review 96:Lots of steps to climb in the apartment for older ladies pulling suitcases up series of flights. Also, the road up to the apartment was steep, were some steps but easier to go up the road with luggage. Thought I was given apt with TWO BATHROOMS, but there was only one for 6 ladies, That was a little difficult but we managed.

Review 97:View from Apt., bedroom was nice, loved the washing machine and the balcony with a clothes line since we were 6 ladies traveling for half a month, the washer was added benefit.

Review 98:The apartment was outdated, but clean. There was a drip in the kitchen under the hot water heater. The location was tough to get to, there are a LOT Of steps up to the apartment, and the steps are not all smooth and easy to climb. The bed was ok, the pillows were flat. You were given a certain number of towels you could use based on occupancy, so we had to reuse towels or pay extra for more.

Review 99:The view from both the bedroom and living room floor-to-ceiling shuttered windows was amazing. These windows opened up onto a little narrow balcony, which went between the bedroom and living room. It was wide enough for a table and 2 chairs, plus another chair or two. The view was so beautiful of the water, the town, and the hillsides. It was perfect. It felt safe, as there was an outer door and an interior door. We had quite a bit of space to unpack and fold things in drawers and hang things in the closet. The bathroom had adequate storage for bathroom essentials. The bathroom was adequate, it was up one stair, it was very small, only one person in there at a time. Shower was tight, but fine. The rest of the place was roomy.

Review 100:The property had no hot water downstairs and if you were lucky you could get 2 minutes worth upstairs. There was only 2 of us and the property caters for 5. Even 2 of us could not have a hot shower let alone 5 people, when I mentioned it to the letting agent they say it was due to pressure levels and that it needed adjusting, so why is this important information not given out to the people who rent this property at the time of checking in. For the money we paid I was really disappointed. I have recently looked on booking.com and this problem has been ongoing, I feel that this needs to be looked into, as it really did spoil our holiday, nothing worse than having to endure cold showers. The wifi does not work upstairs either and the property needs a good clean too.

Review 101:Views, location.

Review 102:Location is not good for those who cannot walk far, uphill with lots of steps. No towel hooks in bathroom, only one tea cup. But it was a nice visit overall.

Review 103:Atmosphere.

Review 104:Tiny bathroom and shower recess, no view from my room, the room was a little cold, needed more blankets. No breakfast included nor daily room service.

Review 105:Size of room was ok, quite clean.

Review 106:Tends to be on the cold side, because I guess not much sunlight gets into the house. Use the heaters that are installed.

Review 107:This apt was amazingly well located. Manarola is the cutest of the Cinque Terre towns in my opinion, and this apt had a great view of the sea and mountains from the patio, and steps away from the view walk and the main street of the town. Great base for a Cinque Terre vacation

Review 108:The apartment was dirty when we arrived, with used mugs and crockery, cobwebs, ants, broken shower and toilet. Non-funtioning fridge, kettle without an adapter to fit the mains socket. The operators ArbaSPaa should be ashamed to let this.

Review 109:Manarola is beautiful.

Review 110:Too traditional - bathroom and kitchen propagated unpleasant smell to the whole apartment. Have to wash the dishes and throw away the rubbish (to where?!) before you leave, or will get a fine - surely such services should be included in the hotel rate?

Review 111:Location - 5 minutes from everything in the town. View - on the vineyard hills, sea and town. Cozy traditional apartment.

Review 112:The small bright apartment meet most of our needs. It has an amazing view off the very small balcony. The kitchen provides the very basics for a simple meal and breakfast, however we could have used a bigger espresso maker for our morning jolt of caffeine for hiking the trails. The bed was comfortable but the bedside table drawers had some mold in them. The office staff was friendly and took us to the apartment . It was a great experience to stay for a week and live like an Italian.

Review 113:Hot water limited by small hot water service.

Review 114:We loved the location of our apartment...the view from the balcony and sitting room window was absolutely spectacular! Sunsets were magical. Manarola was the perfect village for us to stay. WiFi available.

Review 115:The apartment really needs updating. The decor is very old and makes the apartment look drab. Some new quilt covers, fresh paintings and removal of old ornaments would give the apartment the freshening it needs.

Review 116:Our apartment was in a great location and had everything we needed for our short stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 117:Directions need to be updated on booking.com as it tells you to get off in the wrong town and walk. Would be good to have basic staples like salt and pepper / tea coffee etc for self catered to make it more convienient for short stays.

Review 118:Loved Manarola as a place to base ourselves. Good location of property and it was clan and comfortable

Review 119:Bathroom was very small. Tiled floor made apartment quite cold. Could do with some rugs on the floor during the cooler months. No wifi.

Review 120:Self contained apartment was clean, bed was comfortable and close to all facilities.

Review 123:A bit odd to walk through one bedroom to get to the toilet, would suit family. No sitting area only kitchen table didn't bother us but if you were staying a long time might be a hassle.

Review 124:Surprisingly large rooms for what I would expect in a village that is so compact. Clean and secure but enough out of main centre not to hear the late night restaurants.

Review 125:I wouldn't like it when it's high season...we saw Easter Sunday and it was very busy and bustle-some! Also...big dislike...the authorities haven't gotten around to fixing the walk ways between the towns...a great dis-appointment for us ...only one was open.

Review 126:Nice restaurant options. Nice atmosphere.

Review 127:Niente - although if you're looking for daily linen service and room service, you won't be happy. If you rely on cars to get from door to door, you also won't be happy.

Review 128:We felt at home right away. We stayed seven nights, and never tired of the view of the sea and the terraced-hills.

Review 129:The most comfortable stay of my journey. Staffs are warm and really nice. Great location with sea view. Everything in the room is clean and well organised.

Review 130:The floor was not clean and had lot of dust.

Review 131:Well equipped kitchen with kitchen appliances and pots n pans. Comfortable beds and 2 separate bathrooms with 2 rooms. Lovely terrace.

Review 132:The 2nd floor apartment smelt like fish!!! This is the reason for my "Faculties" rating. I think it might have been because a neighbor had a cooler of fish sitting out on their porch, but it wasn't so bad that it was unbearable. Just noticeable.

Review 133:AWESOME view. Lovely decoration with many kitchen utensils and books to read. Absolutely wonderful place! :)

Review 134:We walked past the office where we needed to collect our keys. It's actually not hard to find, but a picture/photo/written directions of/to its location would be fantastic. Bathrooms on small side for two adults and two teenagers but no real biggie.

Review 135:Amazing location at beautiful Manarola. Great view, particularly of the mountainside nativity which, I believe, continues until the end of January. Modern fit out with a few bits and pieces in the pantry which is great for getting a meal underway. Really handy little directory in the apartment outlining restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Would recommend to others and would stay here again.

Review 136:Lovely place with a wonderful balcony looking over the sea. Make sure you pack light and the walk back to your car is a bit crazy with luggage. Such a nice town, make sure you go in the summer as nothing was opened when were there in January. Whoops, we had a great time regardless, just had to eat in.

Review 137:We love the simple bach accommodation right on the water front. Views were exceptional, and were extended our stay as we found the entire place very restful.

Review 138:There was nothing not to like.

Review 139:Beside the fact that manarola is heaven in earth, this accommodation was outstanding. An apartment set up high in the village with the locals. French doors opening out to a gorgeous view of the sea. Well fitted out with a great kitchen. Staff were amazing. Church bells ringing, gorgeous nativity scene on the hill over Christmas. Trains run right to the town so easily accessible. I would say this accommodation and town are must for anyone visiting Italy. Thanks so much. Kelly

Review 140:Our apartment was a great size and gave everyone good privacy. We had a great view and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 141:Nothing really. Everything was great.

Review 142:The view was incredible. The apartment was clean. The bed was good. The staff I spoke to Elisa and Marilina were very helpful! I will come back again.
