Reviews for Atlantic Guest House
Review 1:Radiator was much too hot in room, couldn't find a way of shutting it off, so had to open two windows on a very stormy night. Very limited choice for breakfast. Poached eggs were overdone. Carpark entrance - couldn't get in - still not sure where it was. So parked in public carpark.
Review 2:Close to town centre. Beds were comfortable.
Review 3:Very early breakfast which did not suit us as we had been at a wedding and it was a late night so we did not make the 8-9am breakfast serving slot. Staff not very friendly. We got a reminder at 10.45am that we had to check out at 11 which we already knew and were getting ready to leave so did not appreciate the knock on the room door. Basic b&b suitable for early risers that don't expect much.
Review 4:Good location
Review 5:Nothing at all to dislike it was perfect.
Review 6:We had a lovely stay ...the guesthouse is spotlessly clean, very warm and cosy. We stayed in room 7 , the bed was so comfortable with lovely linen. Breakfast in the morning is very tasty ... plenty of choice and big portions. We are booked again for a night in December and can't wait !!!
Review 7:Basically the place needs a total revamp its caught in a time warp. It was opened in 1967 & most of the decor is the original. It's so old fashioned & cluttered. Also the breakfast wasn't good.
Review 8:I'm afraid I didn't like anything about the guesthouse. My first impressions were not good. When I walked in it was dark & dingy.
Review 9:We had a great time..
Review 10:The atttention from the owners they were very helpful. They even did washing for us. Very friendly and could not do enough for you. Breakfasts were delicious.
Review 11:The light over the handbasin was fused. Overall, the room was very dark. more lights over the mirrors are necessary
Review 12:Food was plentiful and promptly served
Review 13:The shower room was very small, but that was not toouch of a problem.
Review 14:Very helpful and friendly staff. The place was easy to find and parking was freely available. We had a room at the back which was very quiet.
Review 15:4 bedrooms had 1 bathroom to share between them - in this day and age? Some refurbishment is due to rectify that and brighten the bedroom/s. Having a takeaway next door is not much fun a 3am on a Sunday morning.
Review 16:Central location.
Review 17:The room was dirty, bones of a chicken. The decor was late 70's/early 80's. No ensuite so had to share bathroom with other guests, no hot water
Review 18:The people
Review 19:Room needs updating and showers could be a bitter powerful and warmer.
Review 20:Staff are friendly helpful and very nice. Breakfast was lovely. Room was a bit dated but comfortable.
Review 21:Friendly staff; great location; comfortable room. I didn't stay for breakfast (early travel) so, I'm sorry, I can't give an opinion about it. Overall, a good stay in a friendly and comfortable hotel in super location.
Review 22:we were told on booking.com that off road parking was available.. We turned up at b nb and one gate was closed, as both were not closed I got out to open gate.. A v v v tight entry parking.. N a very rude man came out to tell us park full.. With his fathers disabled van being in the car park.. We had to try n reverse out n in doing so scraped the front of our car.. Rude man told us gates closed for a reason.. But one was closed.. Not both..
Review 23:Location
Review 24:You pay for what you get. It's comfortable and safe and quiet. Don't expect luxury.
Review 25:Good and quick breakfast. Dropped a car load of us out to Harveys Point for a wedding. Is parking but it's up the narrowest of driveways. Pull in the wing mirror
Review 26:We had a twin room at the front of the building and were kept awake until some time after 3am by the loud shouting and arguing of a constant stream of people leaving pubs/heading to the takeaway next door (This was on a Thursday night). Ask for a room at the back and I'm sure you'll have a lovely stay.
Review 27:The proprietor was a very friendly and polite lady. Our breakfast was delicious. The bathroom and in-room facilities were good.
Review 28:Maybe they should give the possibility to book the parking space because we asked for it in the special request when we booked the room but once there there wasn't any space left for us (we chose this hotel for the car park..........). For some unexplanable reasons neither my Mastercard nor my Maestro card didn't work when I had to pay (even if I always used them anywhere in Scotland and Ireland) and I had to use another credit card.. Bad smell in the doorway.
Review 29:Good position. Nice room, well furnished with kettle, mugs, tea etc.
Review 30:Nothing.
Review 31:Unfortunately Slept it out for breakfast but the bed was very comfortable, so was the room, Donegal was good fun, great pub called the Reel In, beautiful drive out to Sleagh Head, people are very friendly.
Review 32:Reserved a two bed room, but was stuck in a tiny space with a single bed barely big enough for 1 adult. Price was far more than the value of the facility. Insufficient parking.
Review 33:Good location. Friendly staff.
Review 34:Lovely clean place , room had good facility and free wifi which worked well . owner was very helpful and recommend very good restaurant that was excellent. Breakfast was nice and filling .
Review 35:The room was tiny we could barely breathe. My husband has health problems and had to share bathroom with everyone else. Not very clean, Never again would i stay here
Review 36:For the price charged you couldn't complain even if there's an odd light bulb missing etc.
Review 37:Friendly welcome from owner Gregory and the craic and banter you don't get in larger hotels.great location and only 2minutes staggering distance from the diamond(town centre)didn't find parking up the entry a problem unless your driving a 10 ton truck!! Beds comfy
Review 38:Family room was massive and shared bathroom was modern. Owner was very friendly and hospitable - got up early on Sunday morning to make us breakfast as we had to leave early. Would recommend if your looking for a nice, simple place to stay
Review 39:It was the worst place iv ever stayed it was dirty, mould in thewardrobes, had to share a bathroom with 6 other rooms, no hand towel inthe bathroom to dry your hands, no fire escape, awful smell of dog pooand wee, the house drunk of old rancid grease, I ended up been coveredin bits the following morning and the owners were extremly rude, I foundhairs in my breakfast! Was a discusting place
Review 40:Absolutly nothing
Review 41:The decor is a little out dated but the place and the staff are lovely.
Review 42:A lovely little guest house. The hole place was so unbelievably clean. Credit to the cleaning crew. Breakfast was lovely and when I asked the owner to ring me a taxi so I could pick up my car at a near by hotel he refused..... and insisted he would bring us himself. Very nice people
Review 43:The room was like a dark cell, with a tiny, tiny window that opened on to a roof top wall. The decor of the room and the (shared) bathroom looked like it had not been touched since the 1970s and lacked a fresh and clean feeling. Particularly uncomfortable if you're sharing a bathroom.
Review 44:The man who runs the guest house is warm, welcoming and very helpful. He helped us with any questions and things we needed to organise ourselves. He was great.
Review 45:Couldn't get hot water either in the sink or the shower.
Review 46:Loved the location, owners were welcoming and helpful with some great local recommendations for dinner and music. The breakfast was fab.
Review 47:We thought we had a toilet in the room but only had a shower so check well when booking. Small room and very noisy from the main Street especially Saturday night. Ask for a rear room.
Review 48:Breakfast was good. Fairly economic price. Close to centre.
Review 49:The only thing that wasn't good was the toilet that was outside the room, but the rest was perfect. I recommend
Review 50:The room was very clean and everything was perfect!
Review 51:The bathroom/shower/ toilet area was so small it makes you wonder how this area was approved and the room smelt, probably being in such a confined space.
Review 52:The restaurant 3 doors up, toni's bistro with unreal food.
Review 53:The rooms were cold and the shower was erratic, going from cold to comfortable to boiling.
Review 54:I liked the location, breakfast, reading by the fire, and the staff were very nice.
Review 55:The room was very cold with the heater coming on for only 1-2 hours in the morning and night. Narrow driveway.
Review 56:Good location in Donegal town. Big clean rooms and nice breakfast.
Review 57:Booked a double room with en suite but had to accept a twin room with en suite and no discount offered. Entrance to limited parking facilities is extremely difficult to negotiate without damaging the sides of car, not suitable for a large family car
Review 58:Friendly enough staff and breakfast was ok
Review 59:No heating - We stayed in February and the Room was very cold. The phone in the room rang at 9.15am waking us up - I had definitely not requested a wake up call. Towels threadbare, shower door in need of repair. Very bad experience.
Review 60:Good location - Very close to town centre
Review 61:The room was really really cold . had to keep on my coat all the time. The bathroom was even colder
Review 62:The location. the staff were very nice. The room and bathroom were lovely and clean
Review 63:Room very small, hole in the door to toilet, Decor outdated. Could hear noises from other rooms,Bed small for DOUBLE and uncomfortable. Ensuite , hardly could swing a cat. Breakfast poor, poach eggs were hard, coffee was served in a tea pot. Whole place needs a full make over
Review 64:Location, Owners very friendly and helpful
Review 65:The house and rooms are a bit dated. We had a shared bathroom which wasn't great, but we also booked the room knowing that. We never could figure out how to turn on the heater and it was a bit chilly in the room.
Review 66:This B&B is a great location to restaurants and pubs. They have priced this very fairly, and you get what you pay for here. As it is more affordable than other B&Bs, and it is clean, bed was pretty comfortable, but not fancy in anyway, shared bathrooms, and dated. The owner was a bit no-nonsense, but nice. Breakfast was very good, filling and had some options.
Review 67:Slightly eccentric floor plan and thin bedroom walls. Car park enterance was very narrow.
Review 68:Ideal location, great breakfast included and very warm friendly atmosphere.
Review 69:Driveway was a tad narrow-
Review 70:Great location, Very friendly and helpful host. (offered and did some laundry for us) Rooms cosy and well appointed. Lovely open fire in the guest lounge
Review 71:The shower pressure wasn't the best.
Review 72:Loved the staff and the traditional Irish breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great! Only a minute away from the bus stop. The staff even let us keep our bags there after check out while we toured the city before leaving.
Review 73:We were a bit disappointed with the room service. We arrived on a Wednesday and the room was serviced the next day and was not done again until Monday.
Review 74:The location almost in the town centre was very good, The breakfast was very filling and set us up or the day ahead.
Review 75:A dog barking while we were sleeping. I don't know if it was the family's dogs or another dog.
Review 76:The location was wonderful and the room comfy - The wife made lovely breakfasts and was very helpful
Review 77:Narrow entrance to car park though easy and inexpensive parking in street outside. WiFi out of range in rear bedroom though accessible in sitting areas. Room rather small
Review 78:Busy, considerate, and obliging hosts; comfortable bed; good breakfast; good information pack; convenient centre for tourist shops, restaurants, and for touring Donegal Town & West Coast.
Review 79:rooms too small beds was like sleeping on a brick there was a real musty smell it said it had off road parking but youcouldn't get a normal size car under the arch way.
Review 80:the location was fantastic for the town.
Review 81:The Room was very tight for us and we are small people, it was very old fashioned, it was not like the Adverts, the parking was very restrictive, the breakfast was adequate
Review 82:Staff were very good, location was good,
Review 83:Sharing toilet not suitable for a young family. No shower gel Very cramped for family of four in a room Rather unfriendly welcome
Review 84:Our family room did have a shower, which was helpful for us. Good Irish breakfast. More friendly attitude in the morning at breakfast time compared with our arrival the night before. Hairdryer was available on request.
Review 85:We nearly had to share a bathroom, all rooms would be better en suite
Review 86:guest house was easily accessible amidst Donegal food festival, even though the town was extremely busy, we both had a good nights sleep
Review 87:Wall paper thing, could hear alarm clock going off at 6 in the morning , room very small ad poor condition, room could do with a paint squeky beds, holes in the door
Review 88:Excellent location close to wide variety of restaurants. Proprietors were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast menu had a number of options for all tastes. Parking provided at rear of guest house
Review 89:Creaky floors and paper thin walls , and the next door occupant who talked or snored all night , very small shower room. but it was very very cheap so expected
Review 90:Right in the town centre
Review 91:The rooms were very basic. The decor was very old and dated and the facilities were just ok.
