Reviews for Pension Dafni

Review 1:The room isn't big. Is for a couple and childs. For a three adults its small.

Review 2:Great room, the staff was very nice and attencious. Great location, near the shops and restaurants. I stay in a room with a kitchen and could make the meals of my 2 years old child very easy. The breakfast worth.

Review 3:-The door knob to the bathroom was broken, don't close it when nobody is in the sleeping room because you cannot get out. -Parking might be an issue.

Review 4:-If you decide to go to Nafplion (which you should because it's amazingly pretty) you definitely should book this place, it is simply amazing for that price. -Good location.

Review 5:Nothing, everything was perfect.

Review 6:Perfect location, Mr. Yanis in reception was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and large enough, having a balcony was also much appreciated. Perfect value for money.

Review 7:Services were superb, reception was always right on demand, VERY likable staff, always polite, really friendly and above all, courteous! Close to everything in town, super neat and clean rooms. Positive enviroment. Value for money. Most great overall! A choice of real quality!

Review 8:A little difficult to find and the free parking was "first come first serve," but it all worked out.

Review 9:Wonderful location, beautiful suite and terrific staff.

Review 10:Lovely hotel, in a beautiful street in the old city. Very clean and spacious room, nicely decorated. Friendly and helpful staff, they gave us useful suggestions on things to do in Nafplio right upon arrival. All in all, highly recommended!

Review 11:Excellent beds, strong Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi per room), friendly and helpfull staff! Everything was clean and shining! The hotel is in a quiet area, nevertheless a short walk away from the city centre. We didn't have breakfast, so no comment on that matter.

Review 12:Everything!!!!!! Beautiful location, excellent quality of our suite, the breakfast, the ambiance, the view, the staff (especially the delightful Sonia).

Review 13:Wish we could have learnt more Greek before our trip!

Review 14:Sonia, the receptionist was very helpful and offered restaurant recommendations and advice. The owner and other staff were equally helpful. Good location to explore the delightful town of Nafplio. The breakfast was delicious, especial Sonia's orange cake. Set meal so although no real choices, the food was good.

Review 15:nothing

Review 16:All the hallmarks of a family run business. Staff were extremely courteous and most helpful (assistance in getting problems with rental car sorted and also in getting laundry done for us (outside hotel) within a matter of hours).

Review 17:The coffee was not very hot at breakfast but we enjoyed the fresh orange juice, yogurt and bread.

Review 18:A warm welcome, a lift and a very comfortable room with a sofa. Beautiful decor.

Review 19:An incredible hotel. Fantastically decorated and furnished rooms. Wonderful views and excellent staff. Perfect location - would love to stay again and again!

Review 20:There is a charch near the window.. If you close the window you want ear it on morning, but you may keep it close.

Review 21:It was amazing place! The stuff so warm gave us everything we need. The suite was the best room we ever get!

Review 22:The studios with the patio were superb. Breakfast was very tasty, particularly the fresh-squeezed orange juice. The location near Palamidi and the center is perfect

Review 23:This guesthouse is in a good location, has spacious rooms, is very clean and has interesting decor. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great! Loved the fresh orange juice!

Review 24:Absolutely nothing.

Review 25:Just about everything! The breakfast, in particular, was very good. I loved the courtyard garden too. The staff were lovely. There was a magnifying mirror in the sitting area - I don't know whay all hotels don't offer this.

Review 26:Nonr

Review 27:Great little hotel with good clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Easy walk to places in old town. Parking can be a little tricky but we got lucky all three nights we were there and was able to park close by.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Everything. Room, people, location, quiet environment, good breakfast. Although parking place around was scarce, we finally had not difficulty finding a parking slot nearby every day.

Review 30:Too short stay...

Review 31:Very cozy, fresh renovated, perfectly located hotel. Hospitality of the owners and stuff was great. Breakfast served on the room's balcony with the view over red city roofs was exceptional. Kudos to the rooms design made by owner herself.

Review 32:Staff, especially Sonia, were most helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The beds were extremely comfortable. A bread knife and board and an electric kettle in the rooms with a kitchenette would be most helpful for those of us who like a morning cup of tea. An egg at breakfast might be healthier than all the carbs. We had a wonderful stay.

Review 33:The Pension Dafni is located in a very convenient area only a few steps to the streets of the beautiful pedestrian area of Nafplio. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. We had a small problem with the wifi which they came and fixed straight away. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel itself has been renovated and was absolutely spotless and modern. There was also a small separate sitting room as well as the bedroom. Very quiet and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Review 34:Superb view. Attention to detail. Room wifi. High class at very reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful management and staff. Well done Mr. Yiannis

Review 35:The wi-fi was really weak, aircon control takes some getting used to. There was no view of the sea. Our room was on the first floor and looked out into an ordinary alley.

Review 36:We liked the location, it was near the shops and the restaurants and the Palamidi fort. We also liked the decor of the room and how really clean it is. Staff are friendly and polite and the breakfast is superb, so many choices. It's like a buffet but served on your table!

Review 37:Great location in old town, near buses and taxis, very friendly and helpful staff, good facilities including small kitchen, but squeaky bed. Overall exceptional value for money.

Review 38:Very tiny space for the kitchenette, no coffee machine. The breakfast was way too much and went to waste, and mostly bready stuff. Instead they could serve less and maybe some eggs and fruit choices. A little expensive.

Review 39:Beautiful, clean room, very nice staff, great location.

Review 40:We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. It was very convenient for strolling in romantic Nafplion and only 5 minutes by car to lovely Karathona beach. The place is very nicely renovated, and we liked everything there. We will definetely come back.

Review 41:Parking is a bit of a challenge.

Review 42:Friendly helpful staff, great balcony view, quality rooms with space, and they even prepared a meal and wine /ouzo for evening meal and delivered it and it was so reasonable. Great place!

Review 43:Magic place with a very friendly owners and staff. Good location in oldtown (150m bus station, 500m, stone, nice beach). Pension is very goodmarked in town. Good base for runners (there is a nice running route).Very good quality of served breakfasts. The most important - exeptional, familly atmosphere (btw - thank you for recipe for a magic orange cake). If you planning travel to Naplflion (good idea) - only Pension Dafni, nothing else.

Review 44:Nothing.

Review 45:From the very word go we were received with a very warm welcome from Sonia. She was very informative about what to do and where to go around Nafplio.Room was just beautiful and breakfast was the best we have had around Greece. Special mention also to Yianni (the owner) and his son Kosta who were extremely hospitable and for who nothing was too much trouble. Σας ευχαριστουμε παρά πολυ. Να είστε πάντα καλα. We will be back and we will not stay anywhere else!!

Review 46:Not a lot of view from our room (though a nice spacious balcony) and the breakfast was a bit too basic.

Review 47:Great location in a charming area close to everything. Nice decor and well maintained. Welcoming staff.

Review 48:Nothing to complain about.

Review 49:Extremely happy with pension dafni. Staff were outstanding, facilities likewise. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Was like staying with family, it was that good. Do yourself a favour a book here. We are a family of 4, 2 children aged 13 and 8. They loved it.

Review 50:The quiet but convenient location in the old town just a short walk from all the attractions of Nafplio including the Palamidi Fortress. Our top floor room with balcony and stunning view over Nafplio.

Review 51:Nothing...

Review 52:If you like a bed and breakfast, small quaint place, you will absolutely love your stay. Our room was so beautifully decorated and clean.Bed and pillows very comfortable.Family owners such beautiful people, welcoming and cant do enough for you.

Review 53:There is nothing not to like at the Pension Dafni.

Review 54:This place is an absolute treasure. It provides four star comfort at modest prices -- excellent linen, comfortable beds, refrigerator, room service, good advice and a comfortable terrace on which to hang out. Our last night was spent in the room at the top, which has an absolutely breathtaking terrace view. The owners, father and son, are on the premises often, and the staff is outstanding, especially Sonia.

Review 55:We had to leave

Review 56:We loved everything about this town! Our pension was beautiful and the staff very caring and professional. They really took care of us. The town was absolutely stunning and the food amazing!

Review 57:Owner Giannis and son Costas super friendly and helpful. Great location - away from noise of centre but only 3 minutes walk to get there. I stayed in three different rooms on separate visits. They were all superior to many hotels with significant star ratings. Giannis and his wife have done a magnificent job in restoring this old mansion.

Review 58:Our room was very spacious, with a separate sitting area and a large bathroom. The linens and towels were high quality, the hotel was nicely decorated, and located in an excellent spot in Nafplio! The beach was short walk away, as were the Palamidi stairs! There were a number of shops and restaurants nearby, and we very much enjoyed our stay, despite a lot of rain one day!

Review 59:I would definitely recommend the suite on the top floor with the gorgeous view of the town and Palamidi castle. Breathtaking! Room was extremely clean and elegantly decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely get the breakfast! It was delicious!

Review 60:Pension Dafni is an outstanding hotel! The comfortable rooms were recently and tastefully renovated. The staff is very welcoming, the location in old town is ideal, the breakfast is excellent, and the rate for a room is a great value. If you contact Pension Dafni to book a room, hope that they have space available. You will be very pleased.

Review 61:I had problems with the original booking and room charge and they were very helpful in sorting it all out. One of the best bathrooms during our travels and the location super with view of the Palamidi.

Review 62:watch the little step off the landing going into the reception , we had a little interaction with it on check out. bummer !

Review 63:The family that runs this hotel is over the top helpful and friendly. Made us feel like family.

Review 64:We were 3 friends travelling to Nafplio and booked the Dafni Pansionspontaneously.the pansion can't be located any better. very close to the center of town, and to the Palmidi foot trail. We got the top suite, amazing spacious room with the best view ever. friendly and very helpfull staff. By far the best place we've been to in greece!

Review 65:I would suggest to hire someone, who is able to cook some easy food etc. salads. But it is not critical in this case! :) Anyway, let me repeat it's great place to stay!

Review 66:- location is great (in the old city centre, but a bit further from hustle and bustle, which is really cool); - room was nice and spacious. The purpose of my trip was to relax and disconnect for a few days. So I spent lots of time lying slugging a bed. Was able to open window and the balcony doors so fresh air was being drawn to the room all the time. - good wifi etc. etc. A great place to stay. 100% recomended.

Review 67:The owner suggested using nearby street parking but we never found any. Do yourself a favor and just use the ample free parking down by the port, so long as you are fit enough to carry your own luggage about 650 meters.

Review 68:Lovely room with a nice balcony. Comfy bed and very quiet. The owner was very nice and also helpful with tourist advice. The location is handy for walking up to the two castles and walking the town. The city was packed for a yacht show but it was not a problem for us.

Review 69:We booked it as self catering and although it had the potential to be good lacked many basic items required to prepare simple meals for two.

Review 70:Location and presentation plus it was quiet.

Review 71:It seems like I have to get used to hard mattresses in Greece - we haven't had a single night with a slightly softer, comfy mattress in Greece.

Review 72:Everything

Review 73:Wasn't on of the room fresher smell as we came in.

Review 74:This was one of our favorite places to stay on our trip. Everything was good, including the lovely breakfast. The attention to detail was much appreciated . Next time we would stay longer and ask for the top floor!

Review 75:Stayed 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. I was upgraded to a studio though I booked a double room. Room is spacious (4-bedders), furniture very new and classy, and superbly clean. Staff are very friendly. Location is great (Nafplio is not that big though). Will definitely stayed here again if I am back to Nafplio in future.

Review 76:I couldn't stay longer

Review 77:Location was great, staff was very helpful, wifi was great, breakfast was well worth the few extra dollars. The room was amazing and I slept with the patio doors open. The old town and the fort are both awesome and I will be back. Well worth the money to stay here.

Review 78:The only tricky part to staying at the Daphni is parking when you first arrive. But once you realise that public parking is only a 5 minute walk at the port and is perfectly safe you can relax.

Review 79:Everything about the Pension Dafni is absolutely perfect, the hospitality, the warm, welcoming staff, the smiles, the location and the ambience. Step out the door and you're right in the heart of the town. Being only 30 minutes from Mycennae and Epidavros and 40 minutes from Nemea makes it the ideal base. We loved it!

Review 80:Small shower.

Review 81:Breakfast was delicious and low-cost. Quiet part of town. Exceptionally friendly staff that spoke English well, always offered help with a smile. A couple of blocks from town center.

Review 82:For handicapped guests family room nr.11 maybe difficult to access.

Review 83:This hotel is obviously managed very well. It was the best stay we had in Greece. We had the family room no.11 which is located in the attic. The "room" itself is a 2 room apartment with a balcony in the smaller room, overlooking the city in direction to the sea. The room is newly renovated (like all what we have seen of the Hotel) equipped like of a 4 star hotel, spacious and particularly clean, which have proofed our kids whose clothes were clean even after playing hide and seek under the bed. The breakfast is plenty, and for 5 € pP a bargain. Croissant, bread, cake, a toast sandwich, butter, marmelade, honey, coffee and a natural orange juice!! It may be difficult to find another place in Nafplio where you get such a deal. The location of the hotel is another asset, as it is just 100m from the pedestrian Zone. They do not have a parking, but you can drive to the Hotel to bring your luggage and the nearby streets have plenty of space to park. Total: Highly recommendable!

Review 84:Parking - but its manageable.

Review 85:Stayed at the 4-persons room. Everything was neat and tidy, very clean. Loved the room Interior decor. Hotel is only 2 mins walk to the centre of town but the best thing is the area is quiet. Only few hundreds metres to the foothill to the fort and the lovely walk along the cliff and beautiful beach. The owner and his team were always helpful.

Review 86:Given a 1st floor superior double room which turned out to be on street level with the bedroom adjacent to the entrance steps so plenty of noise from other guests coming and going so not good for sleeping , shame the word "superior" didn't extend to the rooms location

Review 87:The Staff were very helpful and the location is in a quiet street

Review 88:Everything. The staff were friendly and very helpful, room very spacious and comfortable and location ideal near the bus station and start of the 999 steps up to Palamidi Castle. I would highly recommend to others and stay here if I ever returned.

Review 89:Very little. Streets around congested for parking.

Review 90:This pension is well situated in the old town, a few minutes walk from the prom., and close to the castle and beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an elegant affair, served on a cake stand; the yoghurt was delicious, their speciality.

Review 91:- You have to find a parking spot on the street, as the hotel doesn't have a car park, and in the evening that is difficult. The staff will show you on a map where you can try to find a spot.

Review 92:- Location - Room equipment - Breakfast (not included in price of room, but very abundant and delicious) - Helpful staff - Cleanliness - Value for money

Review 93:top location right in the center of the old town. super friendly staff. nice family room with enough space for two adults and 2 children. babyphone distance between room and bar so parents can have a drink while children sleep.

Review 94:Generally everything was great. Nafplio is a nice little town and Pension Dafni was in a great location close to the bus stop, castle and restaurants. The staff was most accomidating.

Review 95:We loved this place. Service was very nice. The location is perfect to go everywhere. Breakfast is super because they have a natural juice and a very good greek yogurth!. People was very kind and helpful. We would stay there again.

Review 96:We got the last available room and it was a bit dark.

Review 97:Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! We followed their recommendations for restaurants etc and had a super stay in Nafplio.

Review 98:We may be easy to please, but we liked everything. It's always good when a hotel exceeds your expectations, and at this price it certainly did.

Review 99:Clean room, large balcony with a great view over the city, excellent breakfast with delicious local products that we took outside in early October. WiFi was important for us and we had no problems with it. I would return to the same hotel if we are lucky enough to go back to Navplion.

Review 100:Great location, right at heart of town but in a very quiet sleep. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good value at £5 each but plenty of places nearby as well. We had a beautifully decorated room with a view of Palamidi Castle. Parking was available. Highly recommend staying here. You can't go wrong!

Review 101:Because of the street it was difficult to find. Our GPS id not recognise the address, we asked a few people in the town and they did not know where the address was, finally we found a police officer who drove us to the parking area. Also, we had heard the breakfast was wonderful however I cannot eat any dairy or wheat and there were no options for me so we had breakfast elsewhere.

Review 102:The location was excellent for walking around the old town and water front. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 103:The Pension is very close to the town centre, but quiet enough to enable guests to get a good nights sleep. Our room was clean and stylishly decorated. We had a small annex with a settee and an additional tv, it gave us more space. We had a balcony overlooking the garden-as requested. The breakfast was excellent value at 5 euro. The owners were very obliging and gave us useful information regarding our onward journey.Would recommend.

Review 104:Perfect situation in the old city of Nafplio, very close to the bus station and the stairs to Palamidi. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable, quiet, clean... and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 105:The only thing I would add would be a washing machine which could be used by guests.

Review 106:Room 5, large family room, 3 days. Windows open with shutters. Air conditioning worked well. They sell water and drinks downstairs. You can purchase just tea for breakfast if you don't want the breakfast option. Relaxing courtyard. Restaurants within two tiny streets. You can walk the tourist town within 30 minutes Supermarket + bus station close. Swimming beach and climb to fort within 10 minutes walk. Had a safe and a tiny fridge.

Review 107:Breakfast could have been better. Some fresh fruit and more variety in bread eg a whole meal option. The fresh orange juice was a winner though!

Review 108:The location was great and the staff informative and very friendly. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable. Everything you need.

Review 109:My only "complaint" is that I didn't stay longer!

Review 110:Beautiful, clean, well kept Pension in an excellent location in the city of Nafplio. Very close and convenient to the main bus station and main attractions, but quiet. The staff was wonderful and welcoming, and very willing to help you with anything that you might need.

Review 111:Good central location, but away from the noise. Breakfast was a five euro bargain extra - would recommend it. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you can afford the top-floor suite, take it as the views are wonderful and you get a balcony, two TVs and loads of space.

Review 112:The pension in the name of a poet who originally owned the house is beautifully done with warm and friendly decor and plenty of books in English. Very friendly staff.

Review 113:Breakfast selection was, for the price (it costs extra), a bit on the parsimonious side.

Review 114:Big, comfortable, stylish (but not 'contemporary') and very clean room with balcony five minutes' walk from Syntagma Square; obliging staff; relatively easy parking nearby; reasonably-priced drinks and snacks onsite.

Review 115:Very little not to like :) There are a lot of musquitos since the early afternoon, so if becomes uncomfotable sitting outside the room. I would bring a good musquito-repeller.

Review 116:We were travelling in southren Greece and spent a night at Napfolio. The lovely hostess took the time to get us familiar with the city and made us feel at home. The room was nice and not expensive

Review 117:The rooms are spotlessly clean. The hotel location is excellent. Hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the town center in the very quiet street. The staff is warm, friendly and very helpful. Nice homemade breakfast. Definitely recommended

Review 118:after two previous disastrous hotels in Napflion it was a small wonder to find a place like the Dafni. Located in the heart of the old town it was within walking distance of all the city's touristic offerings. The pension's highlights were is delicious breakfast offerings: fresh, tasty and nutritious and accommodating staff.

The Fine Print

Please note that there are 2 options for public parking, either at Arvanitia Square within 100 metres, or at the port within 800 feet.
