Review 7:I did like this accommodation only stayed one night in November as we were attending a wedding in Donegal . The room was large well decorated with all facilities the bathroom was very nice very clean the owners could not have been more helpful
Review 8:We had a lovely stay. We arrived late but were made very welcome - we had phoned and been advised that it was fine. Rooms were spacious and clean. It was great to see a fire in the breakfast room. Breakfast was exceptional - cake at breakfast, if you fancied it - plus all the expected choices! How wonderful! The hosts found time for a word with everyone. Lovely.
Review 9:As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with tea ,coffee and home made cake. The hosts Michael , Sian and staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was first class ,fresh and plentiful It was so peaceful and quiet
Review 10:We loved staying at Donagal Manor. Everything about it was quite wonderful. looking out our window to see sheep in the pasture was sweet! The owners are so dear. They are welcoming and so helpful in every way. The food is absolutely delicious. It was ..bar none.. the best breakfast we had on our entire trip in Ireland.. and we stayed at the Hayfield in Cork..Donagal Manor breakfast was superb
Review 11:Loved everything. No complaints.
Review 12:Loved the location. Loved the hosts. They were friendly and very accommodating with all requests. We got assistance with places to visit and great recommendations regarding restaurants.
Review 13:Owners very friendly and helpful. 20 minute walk into donegal town. Excellent breakfast with beautiful homemade wheaten bread or wheaten and banana bread. Would definitely return.
Review 14:Although it was just a 15-20 min walk back into town which I did not find objectionable at all the first little bit there was no footpath so you had to walk on the road
Review 15:Staff very friendly and accommodating
Review 16:Can't complain :)
Review 17:Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Owners were friendly and accommodating in regards to a later check out and times for breakfast. Great value and enjoyable stay.
Review 18:N/A Perfect stay
Review 19:Great sized rooms, staff were extremely helpful and location was superb for convenience to donegal town and lough eske for the wedding we attended.
Review 20:The staff welcomed us warmly the first night with a special treat for our honeymoon. They were extremely nice and helped us plan our time in Donegal. The food at breakfast was delicious!
Review 21:We arrived at night time and it was a bit hard to find the entrance for the Manor coming from the main road. Also, we had a bath with bubbles, but the bubbles mechanism didn’t work, but I’m sure that was just a temporary problem that was being solved.
Review 22:Michael was really nice with us and always made sure that everything was ok. He was also really helpful recommending us places to go and how to go there. I have food allergies and he made sure there was food I could eat. The breakfast area is awesome. Very nice furniture and even a wood fire on! Lots of choice for breakfast. Really nice quality food. The room was big and nicely decorated. Lovely people and lovely place.
Review 23:The couple running this b&B are absolutely lovely. They were extremely welcoming and offered great recommendations around the Donegal area. Huge king size bed which was very comfortable. Breakfast was some of the best we've had around Ireland. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a weekend getaway!
Review 24:Our room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable. Convenient to town, excellent food. Best value for money on entire trip and wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 25:Staff were extremely helpful.Breakfast was the best we had experienced in a B&B including catering for gluten free needs. Attention to detail was perfect.Location was great.
Review 26:Hard to find at mihht
Review 27:Sean and Micheal were excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. Greeted us with hot tea and cookies after an afternoon of traveling
Review 28:Everything especially the warm welcome & friendly staff. The gesture of a bottle of wine in the room for a birthday was a lovely touch. Highly recommend.
Review 29:Staff were very informative and friendly. Homemade afternoon tea on arrival. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. Room for three people was large, very comfortable and included three double beds!
Review 30:We were greeted and welcomed with tea and cake. Had a great night's sleep and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast, the best we had during our week of travelling in Ireland.
Review 31:Sian and John were the most accommodating hosts one could hope to encounter in a B&B. We were greeted with tea and cakes on arrival and the hospitality just got better from there. The breakfast table groaned under the weight of the fare on offer. Rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Review 32:We were given a fine room equipped for wheelchair/disable person(s). The sink and mirrors were obviously much lower down and as a result were difficult to use.
Review 33:Very nice welcome by Ainia. She was lovely and friendly and yet professional! Food was tasty & plentiful. I'd definitely stay here in the future. Everything was perfect.
Review 34:No bad experiences, but location is next to busy highway. Traffic noise was not bad but was there.
Review 35:Breakfast was fabulous. Lots of choices, beyond the usual Irish breakfast. Because it is also a cookery school, food was high quality and imaginative. Sean and Michael were very hospitable and helpful from start to finish.
Review 36:the people were very friendly and hospitable. they were very knowledgeable about the area and places to see and how to get there. the room size was the best we have stayed in - spacious
Review 37:We loved everything about our 2 night stay, from the quality of the rooms, the fabulous breakfasts and the convenient location. The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful, as well.
Review 38:We expected from reading previous reviews an on site restaurant for evening meals and there was none or a bar so no facilities to relax in the evening and meet fellow guests.
Review 39:Spacious bedroom and very large comfortable bed.Friendly helpful owner on site to give advice on local attractions.
Review 40:Booking.com does not advise that the restaurant is closed Sunday/Monday evening
Review 41:Friendliness of staff . Clean and comfortable nothing too much bother
Review 42:On arrival we got a friendly welcome .The complimentary tea/coffee and selection of home made cakes were both delicious and appreciated. On finding out we were celebrating a special anniversary Sian and Michael presented us with a lovely bottle of wine. BReakfast was outstanding. We would highly recommend Donegal Manor.
Review 43:The cleaning staff might not be at the par as they forgot toss out trash. The room decor felt a bit mismatch for our room. The dinner wasn't served and we were a little disappointed.
Review 44:The breakfast and the service were amazing. Michael gave each guest truly personal welcome as well as care during our stay. We really enjoyed our stay.
Review 45:Excellent. Really friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent - have never seen a better choice - including in 5 star establishments. Home made jam is the best I have ever tasted. Tea, coffee and cake provided during the day.
Review 46:Our room faced front -busy road short distance way- we had have window open as was very warm-so quiet noisey-il be requesting room at back building in future-
Review 47:Liked staff +friendly owner very helpful with advice of places eat +park in Donegal short drive away-food/breakfast good-all home cooked fresh ingredients!table nicely set up Lovly breakfast + tea +coffee! room +bathroom clean comfortable -was impressed the kettle was spotless unlik some hotels stayed in where they are all furred up! I would recommend anyone stay here but when I go back il be requesting a bedroom to back of building-overall we enjoyed stayin here there's free ample parking too -very handy to Donegal town few minits drive way-
Review 48:Donegal Manor is out of town, so not really within walking distance - only 5 mins by car however. The wifi was patchy at best.
Review 49:The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 50:There were long periods without WiFi so I found I had to stay up very late and/or get up very early to get internet access. Other networks seemed to interfere. When they closed access was restored. Service tended to be inconsistent. No soap until I asked for it (but lots of lotion and conditioning shampoo). Enough coffee but all decaff. I think the deficiencies were probably from lack of clear definition. No separate knives for side plates! Why? I have to mention that on one occasion I came back to find the door to my room wide open, with my suitcase and laptop in full view. My room was at the far end of the top floor behind a corner, so the open door was not spotted and had probably been open all day, since the service was not quite complete. None of my things were touched but it was very disconcerting and disturbing. Just a one-off mistake I am sure, but tighter systems might help.
Review 51:The preserves and home baked items were exceptional. The host was the linchpin of the whole operation, knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and observant and the staff were also excellent, some exceptionally so. The hotel is now on TomTom as a Place of Interest and this was very helpful in finding the access road safely off the main N15. I was able to arrange a later arrival without difficulty and this was much appreciated.
Review 52:The staff and location of the hotel were wonderful, and breakfast choices abound. The baked goods were absolutely amazing! All home made on a daily basis by the matron of the house. Just outstanding!
Review 53:No food in evening.....didn't know this until we arrived
Review 54:Owners very friendly, coffee and home bakes on arrival. Flexibility in providing breakfast early for early flight
Review 55:Swaybacked beds, building isn't as described, cheesy decor, no visible cooking school. We would not have stayed here if we had seen it prior to booking.
Review 56:Friendly staff.
Review 57:The room was very warm and we couldn't open the windows as the main road outside was very noisy. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for a cookery school
Review 58:Room was large and lovely and the bed was very comfortable
Review 59:Toilet didn't seem to work as well as possible, but it was still OK.
Review 60:The owner (wife) loved to bake and made great gluten-free baked goods for breakfast. (My husband has a documented gluten sensitivity). She also made sure that we had some to take with us on our trip. Breakfast was very relaxing. (We didn't get to do the cooking school.) The room was large and comfortable.
Review 61:Comfortable beds, spotlessly clean room and dining area with a wonderful choice of breakfast options. Friendly proprietor who chatted with his guests and made them very welcome.
Review 62:The only thing I was uncomfortable with was the softness of the bed, which was not super king-size as advertised.
Review 63:All the staff were extremely welcoming. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and two sons who did not make it down in time were given bacon rolls later in the morning! We could not have had better service.
Review 64:we had a large room which was very well equipped,a friendly welcome by the owner with tea and home made cakes, an excellent breakfast and all for a very reasonable price.
Review 65:Best room you could ever hope for. Much better than most hotels . A little extra was well spent for best room. Ask for Lady Nuala room when booking.
Review 66:The room door had a problem with the lock where it kept getting stuck, but they said they would be fixing this. Wifi wasnt great in the bedroom but fine downstairs.
Review 67:This place was beautiful for what we were looking for, a nice relaxing weekend. Breakfast was amazing and you could eat as much as you wanted. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back here.
Review 68:For a 4 star property I expected their to be sky television or at least a variety of channels but only one channel worked. Also the fridge wasnt on when we arrived which was disappointing as it wad hot and we had to drink warm drinks.
Review 69:The staff are fabulous, very helpful and they have tea/ coffee and home baked treats in the lobby for their guests. Super king size bed was amazing. Breakfast was lovely.
Review 70:Firstly, the politeness of the welcome. When we arrived the owner/receptionist was on the phone to a friend, I heard her say "I have guests, I'll call you back". She came straight away to the reception desk to welcome us. So often these days people will ignore you and carry on with their conversation. This impressed us from the start. The quality of the room was excellent and so very comfortable with a view to watch the sunset over the hills. Our one disappointment was that they did not serve dinner on the evening we were there. This disappointment was made more so by the excellent quality of breakfast the next day. They only serve dinner 3 nights a week and unfortunately our one night stay was on the wrong night. Overall this was a lovely hotel in which to stay and I would have no hesitation in returning should I return to the area, it was easy to find, easy to park and easy to get into town for our evening meal.
Review 71:The location is good but it is not walking distance to thevillage center.
Review 72:During our one week visit to Ireland, Donegal manor was our bestbreakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 73:Nothing to dislike.
Review 74:Friendliness of staff and the enormous breakfast range, staff were very kind to assist us with an emergency laundry wash. The best accommodation we had on our two weeks in Ireland! Would gladly stay here again.
Review 75:From the moment we arrived the staff were on first name terms with us. The room was large and comfortable. The food was excellent. We will be back.
Review 76:We stayed for six nights and the proprietors took care to give us the best room available. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was superb. For a B&B it did what it said on the tin.... to a very high standard.
Review 77:We were enthusiastic to discover the place after reading so many good comments, but the truth is that we didn't find there the atmosphere that was depicted in those comments. Maybe we were simply there at a wrong time...
Review 78:Nice home made cakes and compotes for breakfast. Extra comfortable bed and spacious room.
Review 79:Nothing
Review 80:Beautifully cooked breakfast with the banana pancakes to die for! ,warm welcome, grand big rooms, peaceful, 2 minutes from Donegal. So pleased we picked this place to stay in the lovely Donegal area with staff to look after you.
Review 81:Location is ideal, just a 15 minute walk into Donegal town. The bedroom is heaven, could've stayed in bed all weekend really! Top marks for breakfast, very friendly and polite staff. I always recommend this place to family and friends.
Review 82:We arrived at 11pm, very tired after a long drive and we're delighted to find the proprietor Michael on hand to welcome us personally and offer any help we wanted to get settled in. We offered to pay up front but Michael wouldn't hear of it. The room was spacious, very clean an comfortable. Our breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice on the menu and nice touches such as the homemade strawberry and rose petal jam!
Review 83:Enjoyed everything about the Donegal Manor. The staff were friendly and helpful and greeted with homemade cake and tea/coffee on arrival. Our room was lovely with comfortable bed, comfortable chairs and big, luxurious ensuite.
Review 84:We only stayed 2 nights at the Donegal Manor, but wish we could have stayed longer! Breakfast was delicious. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the whole experience was really enjoyable.
Review 85:Very comfortable accommodations. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great. The location was a little outside of Donegal town but with very easy access.
Review 86:Leaving.
Review 87:The friendliness of all the staff. They also go that extra mile to help you organise your day with their local knowledge.Proximity to Donegal Town. Fantastic breakfast.
Review 88:had lots of problems with the wifi as my room was on the 2nd floor but Michael tried very hard to fix it. A fridge in the room would have been wonderful
Review 89:the room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. It was lovely to have so much room. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the breakfast was better than being in a restaurant!
Review 90:No hot water and no drinks license The lounge was full of smoke from the open fire to a uncomfortable level The owners stayed in the lounge all the time so you got the feeling of it being more of a guest house than a hotel
Review 91:The big fire burning when you come in make you feel at home straight away. The bed was warm and comfortable. The room is family friendly. Our toddler had a great time. The breakfast was very good. and the location was great. Donegal town is a few minutes walk away. The host were very friendly. We liked everything about Donegal Manor and cookery school. Great and homely place!
Review 92:All good
Review 93:Wonderful hosts. Deluxe room was spacious and loved the kingsize bed. Really enjoyed the lounge area and sitting in front of the open fire. Breakfast was great but special mention for the home made scones available all day. Was walking distance to town and taxis readily available for our tipsy return after dinner and guiness at a local live music pub.
Review 94:Comfortable large room with everything you could want. Breakfast was brilliant, would come again just to have the breakfast again. The hosts were lovely, really helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommending Donegal manor.
Review 95:Bookings.com advertises this as a 4 star hotel, which sets wrong expectations. Unfortunately this is a B&B - not a hotel. It was very cold, and been told by room 'neighbours' to lower the volume of the tv, which was not loud as we were sleeping with it turned on (that happened at 1AM).
Review 96:The owner was quite nice.
Review 97:None.
Review 98:The owners are very attentive, helpful and extremely friendly. One of very very few excellent breakfasts within Ireland I ever had. I am more than looking forward when their restaurant is once open to have dinner there. I can only highly recommend this place.
Review 99:Address given made it hard to find on our rental car's GPS, which may just be a Garmin problem and not a Donegal Manor problem at all.
Review 100:It was luxurious and we cannot say enough about breakfast!! It was fantastic. The location was a 20 minute walk to the city center, but the sun was shining so it was no big deal. Sian advised us of a cheap and easy cab ride home after a night at the pubs so it all worked out. Room was super spacious and bathroom was excellent.
Review 101:Nothing.
Review 102:Welcoming atmosphere of hospitality, spacious room, fabulous home made food. Hosts went out of their way to ensure our comfort, offered local information and were very friendly.
Review 103:Everything was lovely, Aine was so helpful and made us a lovely cup of coffee and a very welcoming piece of cake on our arrival. We will be highly recommend you lovely your lovely Manor and Cookery School.
Review 104:The outside of the property could do with a lick of paint and brightening up. A little mor planting. The house is a fine property, but looks a little tired.
Review 105:Owner extremely helpful. Large bedroom. Everything you could wish for. Wonderful breakfast.
Review 106:Stayed here for a wedding in the Millpark, the room was about half the price of the hotel and only a few minutes drive. We had a deluxe room and it was fabulous. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Review 107:The sitting area downstairs was a big room with a lovely fire but was very dark. So much could be done with this room with lighter walls and furniture and little groups of sofas or soft chairs. The hall at the front door is terribly unwelcoming and off putting...I wondered what I had booked when I arrived because of it.
Review 108:Only negative when approaching from Donegal town you must turn right across oncoming traffic onto road where manor located. At night it is impossible to see where the road is as no signs or lights. Very dangerous.
Review 109:Warm welcome from Sian and Micheal. Had a large triple room with 3 double beds and lovely ensuite. Great cooked breakfast with fantastic home made breads next morning. Very good value for money. Thoroughly recommend
Review 110:The television was too small :(
Review 111:Open fire, huge bed , great home cooked breakfast. Sian and Michael made us feel so welcome. .Will definitely be back :)
Review 112:There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like
Review 113:Everything was exceptional. The weather was awful but the welcome, warmth and comfort were excellent and the breakfast was something else! We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay - pity it wasn't for longer.
