Reviews for Ashwood Apartments Donegal
Review 1:Bed bugs Location is way too far from Donegal town. Which is not what they implied No WIFI !
Review 2:The bathrooms are modern and clean. The area is beautiful
Review 3:A wonderful base for both town centre and exploring Donegal's surrounds A spacious and well furnished apartment with all you could need. Thank you, Tina!
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Everything was fantastic loved it as did the kids the owners where so nice to them even allowed them to their own house to play on their trampoline
Review 6:It's very difficult to locate the apartment as there's no sign-board showing the name of the apartment. Our GPS indicated we had arrived at the place but there was no sign of the apartment. We went round searching for it in vain and when we checked it out with the locals, they seemed puzzled and couldn't help us. We're desperate and frustrated. Fortunately , I chanced upon a lady who was working at the flower pots in front her house. I enquired the whereabouts of the property and to my relief, she said she knew and also the owner. She called and directed me to the apartment which is behind a hotel. We're flabbergasted as there was no signboard showing the apartment. It's just like searching a needle in the haystack. We met up with the owner the next day and she said that she had emailed us as where to collect the keys 2 days before our arrival. Isn't that too late as we had already left our country and we didn't bring our laptop along.
Review 7:The apartment is quite new and large. It has two bedrooms with four beds. It's meant for family with two children (I supposed). It has a fairly spacious living room and a self-catering kitchen. The decor is modern but simple. The apartment is clean and well-maintained and, in fact, is rather cosy. The two bedrooms have large glass windows overlooking the car park outside. From the apartment, it's about 5-minute drive to the city centre of Donegal where there're a number of eateries and shops.
Review 8:the only downside is the lack of facilities for the disabled such as wet rooms
Review 9:the apartments are ideal for walking into Donegal town they are very clean and well supplied and the owner Tina is very friendly and helpful
Review 10:The only negative was that the washing machine/dryer wasn't working. After a month of travelling this was definitely disappointing. The manager offered to do our washing and drying for us which was very kind, but we felt uncomfortable expecting her to do that so it was back to more hand washing.
Review 11:The lady who met us was very welcoming and friendly. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed( apart from the non working washing machine)Would effeminately stay there again.
Review 12:This house is so beautiful! It is so spacious and it had everything we needed, even a BBQ. Great for a large group of people for a weekend and it is a short taxi journey to all the local pubs and restaurants! Tina is such a lovely and kind woman, we wanted to take all our rubbish somewhere before we left but Tina offered to sort it for us! I would most definitely recommend this house and will definitely be back for another weekend!!
Review 13:Kitchen drawer needs repairing. Main bathroom needs a shower head holder, other than that all was perfect.
Review 14:Great space, everything we needed for a short break
Review 15:The house was amazing I have stayed in other places and this tops it for everything it was so so clean absolutely fab spot and a lovely friendly welcome from Tina . Just sorry we didn't book for longer
Review 16:Me and my husband stayed for 3 days for St Patrick's day. Beautiful city . The apartment is very spacious and very clean. It had everything we needed. We were grateful for the washer and detergent. Tina was very kind and kept in touch with us throughout our visit. Great kitchen, close to town where you will find a little grocery mart as well as a couple of butcher shops. Everyone is so kind in this town, we did not want to leave. This was part of our 2 week vacation of Scotland and Ireland and by far our favorite. Thank you, Carolanne
Review 17:The fact that I had to leave :)
Review 18:The house was a fab. There was 8 of us in town for a wedding for the weekend and it was a stones throw from town and the facilities were fantastic.
Review 19:The house is just off the N15 so close to different locations around the Donegal area. There's a shop, petrol station and deli at end of the road which is handy. Beds were comfy and kitchen had everything you would require for a self-catering trip. Would recommend this house for any family considering a holiday around Donegal town.

Review 24:Very spacious apartment that suited my 1 and 2 year old to play around in. Second bedroom for sleeping arrangements was excellent. Family friendly. Only 10 min walk into Donegal town and 15 min drive from excellent beaches.
Review 25:We stayed in the 4 bed house in Lahey, although it's a bit out of town our American friends loved being in the countryside and it affords the traveller peace and tranquility. Ideally located for access to beaches (Rossnowlagh, Glen Cholmcille) and the stunning scenery of Slieve Leigue and Glenveigh National Park. Our host Tina was on hand at all times for any problems we had and we would highly recommend you stay with her. Spotless clean and very comfortable! We will return.

Review 59:My family love the house we have stated here before and the staff made us feel valued and the remembered us
Review 60:Excellent position and met all our needs.
Review 61:Was a little noisy on the Friday night as there was a wedding on in the hotel next door and you hear the music. Not much anyone could do about that!
Review 62:Lovely apartment - clean, very spacious, convenient to Donegal town. High chair and steriliser provided for our baby which was great. Located on the grounds of a hotel and we used the pool (had to pay) and had dinner there one night. Pool isn't that big but it's nice for the casual swimmer and there is a baby pool and jacuzzi. There is a Mace a few mins away for the essentials.
Review 63:I have zero complaints
Review 64:Easy going nature of the owner of the apartment. Decent and polite. You can't ask for more than that when the place is exactly as advertised
Review 65:Shower in family bathroom either scalding hot or very cold.
Review 66:The apartments were immaculate. Everything you could possibly need. Kitchens well equiped. Quiet area but also near the hotel and a shop within walking distance. Tina the owner was lovely and very helpful. Would definitely go back.
Review 67:I haven't a bad word to say about this apartment. I was welcomed when I arrived, staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean and well presented. Beds were comfy. Instant hot water and showers were lovely. Didn't have to ask for anything. Would recommend to anyone staying in Donegal.
Review 68:Tina was extremely helpful with places to eat etc and also how we could trace family members in Donegal. The apartment was brilliant couldn't have asked for anything better. A*
Review 69:Our stay there was too short!;)
Review 70:The four of us stayed in apartment number 7 during October bank holiday and used it as our base for hiking excursions. It comprised of: one double en suit bedroom and one twin bedroom plus a bathroom with a bath tub, entrance hall and large kitchen / dining area / living area - exactly as on pictures provided. The apartment was impeccable and smelled of cleanliness. Not one bit of dust. The kitchen had all appliances and utensils you may need, it would take forever to list them all. Perfect, if you want to cook your own meals, which we did. Easy to find, 10 minutes walk from Donegal town centre (2 minutes from petrol station with convenience store) with all the pubs and restaurants, but also next door to a hotel. Tina was an excellent host, even though we only saw her at check out (keys were to be collected from hotel next door). She made sure our apartment was ready for early check in, even though I said it was enough if we can leave our bags and come back later. Great value for money, worked out at 37.50 Euro per night per person. Highly recommend this lovely apartment for groups of friends, families etc. Will definitely stay there again, next time I'm in Donegal.
Review 71:The washing machine had a broken dryer cycle, small bar fridge for large apartment, dim lighting throughout, bad wifi signals at night - both supplied and our Vodafone.
Review 72:Quiet, good parking, good linen, friendly owner.
Review 73:Our apartment was spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable. The apartments are ideally located next to a luxury hotel and within easy walking distance of a petrol station/convenience store. They are just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Donegal Town. Superb value when compared to most hotels.
Review 74:These apartments were fab! And Tina was amazing. There was a cot, steriliser and high chair waiting for us when we arrived. Would definately recommend
Review 75:The lovely wooden floor was very noisy! when the children were playing with the lovely toys provided by the owner !
Review 76:The appartment was very clean ,tidy and provided for all our needs . It was convenient to Donegal town and surrounding tourist areas. The facilities of the Mill Park hotel were available for our use. We would highly recommed these appartments to others
Review 77:Not enough mirrors in the rooms
Review 78:The rooms are clean and big the house has loads of ground for the kids to run around and the house everything from cooker to washing machine and microwave also has sky tv in the leaving room.
Review 79:Its too far away from New Zealand to enjoy every weekend
Review 80:We love absolutely everything about this property - its location, view, host the property's layout and facilities. Our host meet us at a selected location and escorted us to the house. Such a professional touch.
Review 81:donegal town is lovely, with its castle ,river and bay. W e were pleased with our accommodation as it was very comfortable and well equipped. Its convenience to donegal town made it ideal for touring the area and sight seeing.
Review 82:Beds a bit hard, but got used to them. Had to pay to use hotel swimming pool, even though in some information it appeared there was no cost.
Review 83:Very clean. Had everything for a home from home stay. Good size for a family of 4. Good for a base to explore Donegal. Close enough to walk town. Would stay again.Tina very friendly to deal with .
Review 84:Check in procedure was very odd, and check out was nearly as strange. The address on the apartment listing leads you to a hotel. When I went in to ask for directions (assuming I was lost or missing something), they had my room key at the front desk (even though the apartment is next door, but not part of, the hotel)! Glad I stopped in there! Otherwise, I might have driven around confused for a while. Also, on check out, discovered my room had already been charged to my credit card used to make the reservation (which wasn't what I had planned to pay with). I'm sure I could have changed it, but it had already been done and it didn't seem worth the bother. Just very strange and impersonal -- never did meet a single person associated with the apartment. Also, really, really, really wish there was wi-fi available (but we knew ahead of time that there wouldn't be, so that wasn't a major issue).
Review 85:Beautiful apartment, perfectly clean and very comfortable. The area is beautiful. Restaurant at the hotel next door is pretty good and very convenient (and has wi-fi).
Review 86:Absolutely nothing.
Review 87:We stayed here for two nights during our two weeks in Ireland - it was the best accommodation we had by far. The house is extremely well appointed with everything a family could need - washer, dryer, full kitchen etc. It is located about 15 minutes out of Donegal town with a beautiful countryside outlook. The cows and sheep can be heard in the distance which is lovely for a country holiday. The owner/manager, Tina, is very helpful and understanding.
Review 88:Wifi would be a good addition to a stay at Ashwood apartments.
Review 89:Apartment was spotless and very spacious. Just like a home from home. Location was great and quiet at night for anyone with young children.
Review 90:There was some noise from a wedding party at the Mill Park on our last night but this did not detract too much from our enjoyment of the Ashwood Apartments!
Review 91:The apartment was very clean, comfortable and convenient to Donegal town. Would stay again!
Review 92:Some night noise from the hotel.
Review 93:I liked the accommodation for our group of 3 couples and 1 single. But we could gather as a family, watch The Wind That Blows The Barley DVD together. Do our laundry.
Review 94:Great location, just 10 minutes walk from the Donegal Diamond but with a sense of being in the countryside. Appartments very spacious and clean and very well kitted out.
Review 95:There was no address or phone number for this apt, so when we were lostthere was no help. The gas station across the street had not heard aboutthis apt. We searched for the better part of an hour. This problem couldhave been solved by stating that this apt was on the site of theMillwood Hotel.
Review 96:Beds were good, apt had all that we needed, it was on the propertyof a hotel.
Review 97:We were in the room off the kitchen, as this was the tv with RTE & TV3. It was the only room in the house that was very cold.
Review 98:Beautiful location, I've never been to Donegal before. The house was lovely and quite! I was with my parents attending a family wedding in Harveys Point.
Review 99:website mentioned swimming and leisure facilities but there was no info in house on this
Review 100:Very spacious house with all needs met, very friendly owners and set in beautiful peaceful surroundings with lovely scenic views
Review 101:The was excellent and the house is spacious and not far from the town centre all the equipment is new from kitchen, bathroom, living to bedrooms.
Review 102:Entrance foyer and corridor to apartment in poor decoration
Review 103:Nice apartment with plenty of room - even additional (third) bed in second bedroom didn't make it feel cramped
Review 104:Everything.The location was great, apartment had everything we needed and the staff, friendly and efficient.
Review 105:the whole deal was excelent
Review 106:The house was fantastic, everything you need was there. Close to donegal town...
Review 107:second visit. beautiful, tranquil location. spacious and well equipped house.
