Reviews for Hotel Romantik Krone

Review 1:Poor wifi. The city is dead at this time of the year:) Nothing to do at the evening (unless you go to alpentherme:)).

Review 2:Get "Active Guest" card and visit alpentherme. Every day you get 2h free and just for 10 euro you can get a pass for saunas for another 3h. Beside that really nice location to visit neushwanstein castle and higline179.

Review 3:Toiletries not provided until we asked. No information pack, not even in German let alone English, which would have been useful and saved us asking what time breakfast was, for example.

Review 4:Friendly staff, comfortable room, with tasty dinner and good breakfast. Easy parking.

Review 5:Very skeleton staff and very few guests gave the feeling that the hotel was not doing very well. We were not happy that their restaurant was not open for evening meals Monday or Tuesday even though the menu posted showed it being open. We saw many good looking hotels driving around the areas which interested us more that Hotel "Romantic" Krone!!

Review 6:The hotel was close enough to town for walking, but the town itself was a let down with very little to do!

Review 7:Very hot while we we there and as usual other patrons smoking, not the hotels fault but they need more no smoking areas.

Review 8:This is a great character family hotel with good facilities and good restaurant and great breakfast. Great stay.

Review 9:The food in their restaurant was superb!! Gourmet meal in a rural mountain. We stayed there to visit Neuschwanstein castle, but we wished to stay there to enjoy Tirol.

Review 10:No air conditioning. It was 30 degrees outside and the room was unpleasantly warm. Free wifi only works by the reception desk - it was not available in the room or in the restaurant. This was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, so this was disappointing.

Review 11:The staff were incredibly helpful and the service was lovely. We had a lovely dinner in the evening, good food, large portions.

Review 12:Average breakfast. Location is convenient, but not the one if you expect superb views or straight jump-in into an Alps grasslands, as the hotel is based in town center.

Review 13:The host was nice and flexible in changing rooms. Rooms are traditionally fitted and clean. Kitchen is working till late evening so you can get a decent meal after a long day in Alps.

Review 14:We had been travelling for 4 days in old MGs on our way to Italy, the hotel owner removed his cars from the garage to make space for our cars, a nice touch. The hotel is old and charming, the food was very good. We all wished we could have spent more time there.

Review 15:Staff is very kind, it has its own restaurant with great beer and kitchen. the hotel is situated not far from Neuschwanstein Castle and has mountain view. we would turn back 100%!

Review 16:we booked the hotel the same day for checking. and the room is no longer available. we arrived the hotel around 0:00am, and the staff was still waiting us and helped us find another great hotel instead with the same price. and she even refund us the city taxes. We are very touched of her responsibility.

Review 17:The owner/chef was incredibly hospitable. He checked us in the hotel at about 8:30PM (in his chef outfit) and asked us if we were hungry because he kept the kitchen open for us. Unfortunately, we had just eaten dinner so we opted for dessert. The rooms were comfortable and adorable. They even folded the towels into heart shapes with chocolates on top. Breakfast was complimentary and delicious. Many different types of breads, jams, poached eggs, various meats and cereals.

Review 18:Very friendly staff and owners of this lovely family run hotel. The food was fantastic and first place in Germany and Austria, where sumptuous vegetarian food was available. The lady owner of the hotel has very warm, caring and radiant demeanor.

Review 19:I'm fussy about salty food, and I'm afraid it was.

Review 20:Staff very friendly and helpful, Breakfast good though evening meal fair and quite expensive.

Review 21:We arrived at about 10pm and all of the restaurants in town were closing and the Restaurant at the Hotel was closed. The man at the front desk was incredible, asked us what we would like and then opened up the kitchen for us all to get a bowl of some and some bread. Very nice family run business.

Review 22:There was a problem with flies in the restaurant and probably would also have been a problem in the room if we left the door to the balcony opened. They have an outdoor seating area and the door was often left opened, so the flies came right in. We were there at the end of June, so it may not be a problem at other times of the year. They did not have screens in the windows and there was no screen door to the balcony, not sure why unless the flies only cause a problem for a short time during the year. Everything else was wonderful!

Review 23:The hosts were charming and very helpful. We had a room with a balcony which was very nice. The hotel is located in a residential area, so it was very quiet at night. The breakfast was good, but it did not have warm food like eggs. We had supper at their restaurant and the service and the food were both excellent. Only problem was caused by flies in the restaurant that is why I only gave it a "good" for cleanliness, but the room itself was very clean.

Review 24:We did not see a lounge for a nightcap, but we also didn't ask, so it's possible there was one.

Review 25:The staff was super nice! Two young men who worked there went out of their way to lead us to a local restaurant. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. The area is lovely and quiet, but not far from town and shops. We arrived at night, so we were quite surprised and delighted to have a wonderful view of the mountain in the morning. We had a lovely breakfast on the patio, but they also have a dining room that is beautiful and quite large. We would highly recommend staying here.

Review 26:Family room in high floor without elevator

Review 27:BF served in variety

Review 29:No shampoo in the room

Review 30:Old-style German hotel building

Review 31:The hotel was lovely, great restaurant and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Would definitely recommend to others.

Review 32:The WiFi speed was really slow.

Review 33:Very friendly staff. Really nice restaurant.

Review 34:Very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was wonderful!!

Review 35:Terrible flies outside, maybe it's because of the time of the year.

Review 36:Friendly people Good food

Review 37:Nothing - everything good!

Review 38:Breakfast excellent. Drinks and restaurant good.

Review 39:The Wifi wasn't working when we were there.

Review 40:Family Run Good Breakfast Restaurant Good Austrian Décor Comfortable Bed Clean Room

Review 41:unable to to turn lights off on balcony

Review 42:Everything

Review 43:very helpful personnel and attentive to one's every need delicious dinner and very abundant breakfast the surroundings are very nice and quiet

Review 44:Expensive

Review 45:Clean Good bed

Review 46:So many flies

Review 47:Excellent food and breakfast. Staff very helpful.

Review 48:Room furnishing and bathroom dated and not up to the quality you would expect for the cost of the room.

Review 49:Food was excellent. Owners and staff all very friendly and helpful. Chef takes a great pride in his cooking. Breakfasts excellent too with lots of choice.

Review 50:Very nice small hotel with a unique ambience. Excellent restaurant. Very good value for money. Very friendly and responsive staff. We strongly recommend it.

Review 51:Hotel is located away from general shopping precinct, so would require a decent walk or short drive to shops or other restaurants. Didn't really bother us though, we enjoyed the views instead.

Review 52:Good restaurant, staff were friendly, spoke good english for my family, although I can manage in German. Good sized family room with bunk beds in a separated room for the children. View from balcony was good. Car parking at hotel premises.

Review 53:It was all good no dislikes

Review 54:This is a beautiful Budget friendly Hotel. It was one of our favourites of the hotels we stayed at on our travels. They do an excellent potato soup highly recommend the restaurant and this hotel.

Review 55:Quite old fashion furniture.

Review 56:Awesome dinner in hotel restaurant, free entrance for 2 hours to thermal spa which is 3km far from hotel. Beautiful nature and mountains.

Review 57:Booking said this hotel was 4 miles from Hotel Neuschwienstien whenreally it's about 30 minutes. The drive is beautiful but wanted tobe a little closer to our destination.

Review 58:The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was kind andattentive to the guests even with the language barrier. Overall Iwould visit this hotel again if Iwere visiting the area for adifferent reason.

Review 59:Bathroom light bulb was out and it took awhile to find (steal) another same-sized bulb from another location in the apartment. Should have been found and fixed prior to our arrival. Not a big deal, but you asked what I didn't like, so there you go.

Review 60:Staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortably set up in their off-site apartment/house. They also ensured we were able to obtain take-out dinner even though we arrived late. Great job to their whole crew. Highly recommended!

Review 61:We rented the 3 bed apartment for one night stay, there were 8 of us, there were 3 bedrooms (one with two doubles), a proper living room, kitchen, one bathroom with one separate toilet, a nice patio and garden. One minute drive away from the hotel as it's independent house. Overall, a very good place for us to rest, mountain views all around, peace and quiet. Breakfast in hotel.Very friendly receptionist (and chef? As he was wearing chef suit when we arrived at night :)

Review 62:Big, comfortable rooms, very clean, excellent and free Wi-Fi, excellent breakfast, close to Fussen/Germany, friendly staff, parking right in front of a hotel.

Review 63:Restaurant staff was uneven, a very nice waitress and a young waiter who was clearly lost.

Review 64:Clean and nice hotel, nice and welcoming staff. Beautiful view from my room. The food at the restaurant was really good. Only German-speaking staff when I was there, but very nice and patient to try to understand.

Review 65:Poor selection of food for breakfast. Not as clean as we got used to in Germany. Bathroom could use some hooks on the door to hang cloths.

Review 66:We stayed in Reutte as a cheaper option to hotels in Fussen. Reutte is quite boring village, but as a base for hiking must have been excelent.

Review 67:We stayed one night at this quite hotel, in order to visit the castles. The quadruple room was not very big but clean and comfortable and with a balcony. We were greeted with courtesy. The staff have been friendly and helpful. For dinner we ate excellent meat (the menu has been translated from German to English by a very kind lady - I think she was the hotel owner), in the hotel garden.

Review 68:Finding the hotel in the dark was a challenge - coming from Reutte turn right immediately after the bridge and follow that road around a bend. Also the bedroom could have been more comfortable.

Review 69:Run by a lovely family, good facilities and an excellent a la carte menu with a good choice of wines and main meals at reasonable prices. Excellent continental buffet breakfast and relaxing spa area.

Review 70:The room decor could have done with some updating. Also the room waslisted as being able to accommodate four people but in reality it wasonly suitable for a maximum of three.

Review 71:The staff, food, facilities and location (as long as you had a car) wereall fantastic. It was also very quiet and the views were wonderful. There is a nice, albeit small, ski area five minutes drive away, thelakes nearby are breathtaking and there is a great new thermal swimmingpool/spa in Reutte. All in all well worth a few days.

Review 72:Room and it's amenities were very good.

Review 73:Great family running this very warm and welcoming place!

Review 74:No lift

Review 75:The lady in charge was very good the staff good and good food

Review 76:Cleanliness and comfort was great.

Review 77:large rooms, very confortable. Good restaurant, good portions

Review 78:Spacious family room, easy and free internet access all over the hotel. And really exqusite food. Truffel polenta was unbelievable.

Review 79:The staff was very friendly, excellent breakfast

Review 80:The food was excellent. The family who owned and ran the hotel were very helpful and friendly.

Review 81:Fridge in the room

Review 83:It was a very quaint hotel - we definitely recommend dining in - their food was amazing!
