Reviews for Mill Park Hotel

Review 1:Good hotel at a fair price for the area. Food was good and staff friendly. Everywhere was very clean and it had a cosy atmosphere on a cold winters night.

Review 2:The reception staff really let this hotel down. Not approachable in any way.may be some training in customer services would be a good idea.

Review 3:Liked the fact that it is 2mins from Donegal town

Review 4:Can't say there was much maybe if there was entertainment in the bar would be the only improvement

Review 5:Great stay, rooms were unbelievable spacious with every facility u could want great value for money

Review 6:Wifi was unfortunately not working the day we arrived, fixed next day though. Service of food at wedding was a little disorganised, and main courses were put together at table rather than plated in kitchen so the presentation was not good

Review 7:Spacious rooms with decent armchairs to sit in. Lovely breakfast

Review 8:The jacuzzi was a little small. I wish it could comfortably fit more than three people.

Review 9:I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was extremely friendly and the cleanliness was absolutely immaculate!

Review 10:The pool did not open until 9am on Saturday morning so no swim before breakfast. ?

Review 11:Warm friendly atmosphere. Comfortable surroundings Good food Convenient location.

Review 12:There was a slight blip with WFI AD staff were very helpful in resolving

Review 13:The atmosphere was lovely helped by very very helpful staff The food was simple and delicious ate twice in the bar. Breakfast was lovely. Didn't use leisure facilities but they looked good.

Review 14:The Hotel rooms were amazing! The staff are all efficent and very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated just outside the town with a nice little walk in. On this occassion we travelled witout children but I would happily take my children to this hotel as well.

Review 15:Stayed with 2 friends - I think 4 stars is too generous for this hotel as we had to ask twice for the heating to be turned on in bedroom. There was no remote control for TV, and no bathrobes.

Review 16:Foyer of hotel was lovely. Breakfast good. Location good

Review 17:I liked everything about this hotel friendly very comfortable with a big fire, and very clean, the barman that served our food was very friendly and Helpfull.I have stayed here before and will stay again pg.

Review 18:Filthy floor in men's changing area in leisure centre. Early 1990s brown decor and low end fittings and finishings unworthy of a four-star hotel.

Review 19:Moderately good hotel food and friendly staff

Review 20:A bit of music would be nice

Review 21:Staff so friendly. Remember you and welcome you back. All staff the same friendliness reception bar staff waitresses and cleaners. We go back three or four times a year

Review 22:Excellent location - easy to find - good parking. Facilities excellent. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Very good value for money. Leisure center and pool excellent. Quiet location. Ideal for touring south Donegal. I would highly recommend this hotel. Breakfast excellent.

Review 23:Excellent Hotel and staff. I was staying on my own for a wedding (1October) and I couldn't fault either the hotel, food or staff. Beautiful room.

Review 24:Have stayed here many times, hotel has been redecorated and refurnished - fantastic location, facilities & staff. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Review 25:Great location. Within walking distance from town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Room was very spacious. got upgraded to a junior suite. It was great

Review 26:I decided to stay here for the parking and am I glad I did. Parking downtown Donegal is nightmarish. It was our first meal in Ireland and they did a fantastic job

Review 27:If you're not used hotels purpose built for functions like weddings, it can be a bit unnerving. Food in the restaurant was average rather than great.

Review 28:Very comfortable room and bathroom. Also very spacious.

Review 29:Bar and restaurant staff are poor at their jobs. You wait at bar to be served and they ignore your presence. Enter restaurant and not shown to a table. Under charged us several times on bills and when advised, they pass it off with 'think I care'. Bring meal bills to your table as if you were not going to pay. Not well managed.

Review 30:Food was good, but quite expensive. Very surprised the hotel is so highly rated. Kids in bar running around till 11pm.

Review 31:Shower was quite small and dark. Ceiling lights buzzed and flickered while on.

Review 32:Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and large room. Perfectly quiet.

Review 33:Attentive local staff who took the time and made the difference. Great for local knowledge and advice on getting around. Everyone had a word for you and took the time to ensure that everything was being done for you. Thanks to Mary for the breakfast chat......

Review 34:While the docor of my room was lovely the basic bathroom took from it.

Review 35:The rooms were comfortable & the breakfast had alot of choice-all very tasty.

Review 36:there was a door splitting the room from next door we could hear everything next door. we annoyed them and they were annoying us.

Review 37:its a great hotel with great food downstairs in a beautiful area. Our favorite hotel along the Wild Atlantic Way. Great breakfast too. We were supposed to stay 1 night but ended up staying two. Loved it

Review 38:On the night we visited the hotel cafe was busy and seemed a bit disorganised. We waited a long time to get served. However, the food, when it did arrive, was excellent and good value for money.

Review 39:Excellent hotel in a beautiful part of Ireland. Comfortable and clean. Super breakfast and delicious 4 course dinner in the restaurant. Nice pool. Donegal town, a short walk away, is such a pretty town with many interesting shops and a pleasant harbour. The countryside is stunning - do visit before the rest of the world discovers this gem of a place.

Review 40:The only even slight negative was the speed of the wifi connection.

Review 41:A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting easy access to Donegal Town as well as to surrounding areas. Food was excellent; the room was spacious and the bath had an excellent shower and all the amenities. Two dining areas met every need you might have.

Review 42:I know it's a very individual thing but I really didn't like the pillows, they were huge and bulky. There were swimming classes for kids on in the pool when we were there so we couldn't really use it.But other than that all was great!

Review 43:Loved the style of the hotel, friendly staff and the breakkie buffet. I was there for a wedding and it was a brilliant stay. You get what you pay for.

Review 44:The food was excellent and varied. It was served by friendly staff. We ate in the Bistro both nights and thought the food was as good there as if we had been having dinner in the main restaurant.

Review 45:The only fault would be the lack of activities for children in the hotel itself.

Review 46:The hotel was beautiful and the staff were superb. Very good value for money. The food was great and the pool was very clean. Really enjoyed are stay.

Review 47:Just one night in Mill Park Hotel . I found the staff very friendly , fabulous breakfast including gluten free cereal and bread and soya milk whichI use at home .

Review 48:Very comfortable rooms, plenty of space and a very generous bathroom. We attended a wedding there & the staff very generously didn't ask us to vacate our room till 1.30pm!!

Review 49:The staff where very friendly and accommodating. They genuinely couldn't do enough for you. The hotel itself was like a home from home very clean and comfortable

Review 50:Overpriced. Poor welcome. Even though we had two babies with us we were not offered any help with luggage. There was steps up to the breakfast area and at no point were we offered any help getting the buggy up and down.

Review 51:Pool.

Review 52:Our room was located at very end of building. Key cards didn't work all the time. I paid upfront for triple room but it was only a double. 2 mugs for tea, towels for 2, tiny single bed, poor stay

Review 53:Food served at wedding was very good and plenty t eat.

Review 54:We had a family wedding in the millpark on Saturday and I can honestly say it was the best wedding I have ever been at .all because of the staff, the food, the overall helpfulness of everyone employed there.

Review 55:The carpark was full of people attending the wedding(s) in the function rooms. Having to park so far away from the hotel reception wasn't really cool when it was raining..

Review 56:The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were efficient and friendly, the food was good. The overall experience was positive.

Review 57:No heating in the room cold when getting out of the shower have to move quick ! ha ha

Review 58:Lovely location really CLEAN such a lovely part of the world be proud of it .xx

Review 59:None

Review 60:Everything really. The hotel is not luxury class but is very good in everything it does. At around £85 per night b+b in Easter week it was a bargain. Oh, and good free parking.

Review 61:Untrained young staff left unsupported and unsure of role especially during breakfast service. Lack of care in presentation of food on hot buffet

Review 62:Spacious and comfortable well appointed facilities

Review 63:No complaintsl

Review 64:Staff, rooms ,food and hospitality were excellent. Stay was so enjoyable we tried to stay an extra night but hotel booked up for a wedding. Pool and leisure facilities very clean.

Review 65:Service of cafe food a bit slow

Review 66:loved it so clean beautiful well decorated room stunning food perfect!!! Everything 100% love this place we will be going again definitely Thankyou lisa

Review 67:I didnt like the fact that the portion sizes where very small, I purchased food from the cafe restaurant and did not buy any again over the three days i was there. Portion sizes where very small. I didnt like the fact the sauna was broken as this was one of the main reasons why we booked the place. Place was very busy as it was easter,we where woken up a number of times during the night from people coming back from the bar. Hallway where noisy until very late. our bedroom window looked out onto the main car park. No net curtains where provided, we therefore had to sit in the dark during the day if we where getting changed. Very bad privacy. We found a number of hairs on our clean towels, i though this wasnt great also. All in all, felt we paid above the odds for the property as many other places offering the same facilities where much cheaper.

Review 68:I liked the fact that Donegall town centre was within walking distance. Morning breakfast was good.

Review 69:Food was absolutely gorgeous, staff where all super friendly, I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be back. Such comfortable beds and spacious rooms

Review 70:The hotel was lovely but our favorite part was how close it was to town. It was a short walk to several pubs and restaurants which made our stay so convenient for a night out. The breakfast was also great!

Review 71:Wifi was a bit slow. Parking spaces should be marked. Cars parked taking up more soace than they needed to.

Review 72:Staff were very helpful, friendly, welcoming.

Review 73:Missed out on full enjoyment of pool due to school visit pool closed early

Review 74:Clean tidy rooms V good bar/restaurant - food was great! Friendly helpful staff V close to town

Review 75:They do not have smoking rooms, but do have some rooms with a balcony. However none were available even though I had requested one.

Review 76:The room was very spacious. The bed was really really comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful and really quite big. The food was also amazing.

Review 77:The leisure centre needed updating . Changing rooms not clean with no shampoo or conditioners in showers

Review 78:Food and service in bars and restaurants excellent. Rooms clean and very comfortable.

Review 79:Made me jealous...need a shower like that at home.

Review 80:Surprising answer perhaps but loved the carpet. Very calm and peaceful one nighter. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Great shower great staff no negative comments from us.

Review 81:I pretty much loved everything about my stay in the millpark. Friendly very helpful staff. Luxury spacious rooms with separate shower and bath. Free wifi. Blazing fire at reception for a drink before heading into town. 1 word AMAZING . Will be making this a place to stay again in the near future. X

Review 82:Leisure facilities need updated seating to close to door could do with a cosy lounge and bar area

Review 83:Rooms are spacious clean and comfortable staff couldn't do enough to help you very friendly

Review 84:Dated and tired rooms not really worthy of a four star rating in my opinion. Dated throughout. Having to wait for breakfast.

Review 85:Staff friendly Nice reception with open fire

Review 86:Staff were less than friendly apart from the manager. Food, the 'home made' burger was processed.room was cold until we asked for heat. Leisure facilities closed at 5 on Sunday. Poor wifi

Review 87:Rooms and bathrooms need updating

Review 88:Friendly staff, large rooms, very close to Donegal Town. If you don't want to take the car into town it's only 5 euros in a taxi and a taxi rank opposite Abbey Hotel coming back.

Review 89:All was grand.

Review 90:The comfort and amenities offered by this establishment were outstanding. Kevin in the bar area was extremely helpful whenever assistance was need; amazing employee that always put the customer's needs first and efficiently produced results!

Review 91:hoover lead over floor in morning when i was going through reception to breakfast fel lover it just missing falling on floor ... no remarks passed or apology and i was so embarrassed though very shook up

Review 92:wedding dinner and breakfast were lovely room 353 very nice too

Review 93:On arrival I was upgraded to an executive room by the receptionist, this was a lovely gesture, room was lovely, bed very comfy, food in bar was great and breakfast too, very nice warm and friendly hotel, will stay here again if I am in the area.

Review 94:I dont like fumes from swimming pool getting to corridor. I have asthma and it can cause me to get breathless. Not a mjor problem and it didnt get to bedroom.

Review 95:Very easy to find just North of Donegal town on ring road. Large fre parking area. 5-10 minutes walk to centre. Quiet area. Friendly bar staff , Reception excellent. Breakfast typical but very good standard and the waitress very friendly courteous and helpful.

Review 96:Toilet did not always flush on the first try.

Review 97:The bed was very good and the rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The bar food was very good. The staff was very helpful.

Review 98:Floor extremely wet throughout the function. Staff were asked to dry it, which they didn't do and it resulted in a lady having an extremely bad fall (needed hospital attention). After the fall the staff put down a mat which patrons were catching their shoes in. Staff need to be aware and keep on top of spillages (customers should not need to draw attention to such matters and staff should listen such things are pointed out)

Review 99:Room Breakfast Reception staff very welcoming Food was beautiful Table service was very good

Review 100:Nothing

Review 101:Great relaxed atmosphere. Walls covered in really interesting photos, paintings and objects. Exposed structural timber and stonework in multi-level reception area makes the stay an event! The large dog grate fire was never allowed to go out. This place has been designed and is run by people who really know their market!

Review 102:The lifts to the bedrooms very confusing I was on 3rd floor and used wrong lift which took us only to second floor .

Review 103:The staff and the whole experience excellent .food very good.

Review 104:Staff lifting plates and glasses before you were finished eating . When they were told people were still eating they continued . So you had to hold on to your plate and glass as soon as you seen the staff coming ah

Review 105:So clean and comfortable

Review 106:noisy doors at 6-30 when tour bus guests go to breakfast, come back then go again. windows lack soundproofing. Busy roads nearby

Review 107:big room, good bathroom. Food very good. modern fittings.

Review 108:As a four star hotel I expected front of house staff to be well presented and mindful that other guests could see & hear her while on the phone to other potential guests.. We waited to be checked in and while waiting until receptionist finished her phone call we saw her roll her eyes and talk almost dismissively to the guest on phone. When finished she didn't get up from her seat to greet us remained seated while she checked us in.. Didn't confirm amount due! Didn't direct us for breakfast next day or inform of breakfast times! While I'm not in the habit of commenting on people's personal appearance I feel this receptionist let the 4 star standard down. Badly chipped nail polish, unruly hair, neck scarf that had seen better days and while retrieving our change due to us her skirt hem and underskirt had come undone! While this did not take away from our stay it definately did not give a very good first impression!

Review 109:Bright fresh airy rooms Good breakfast

Review 110:there is something missing, maybe a certain indifference, especially at breakfast, staff have little or no engagement with guests, they are so busy clearing up! there is that feeling generally like move on!

Review 111:well situated, lovely spacious room and bathroom very comfortable beds

Review 112:The toilet in our room made a loud noise when flushed it lasted only for a few seconds though, but wouldn't have liked to flush it during the night as it would have wakened all in the corridor.

Review 113:The staff were very friendly and helpful. the meal in the hotel was very good and good value. The breakfast was good, could have done with a better range of breakfast type breads, croissants etc.

Review 114:Nothing. No complaints. I'd return again

Review 115:I was on my own and it was so relaxing. I got a nice quiet corner in cafe bar for dinner, staff were lovely and service was very quick. The food was also very good. I had breakfast in my room and the breakfast was huge, I did ask for the full Irish! That's what I got. Couldn't finish it. Check in and out was seamless. Reception staff were nice.

Review 116:You could not fault this hotel

Review 117:We were at a Wedding and the staff made it so personal. I liked it when sparklers were put on each table and Congratulations played to the newly weds.

Review 118:Slightly inconvenient location without transport particularly when wet.

Review 119:Excellent room, very spacious and well maintained, with sitting area outside. Quiet location

Review 120:WE had specified with booking.com 2 beds in room. Only one there. Had specifically requested a double & single for the two adults occupying the room. Only one bed in the room, hadn't expected to share. Disappointed. €150 for 1 night B&B

Review 121:Location

Review 122:The receptionist at check-out barely had time to acknowledge us as she was on the phone. We were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. The pool was way too warm so that we only went in once. I was getting dizzy. It would have been nice had there been muesli for breakfast. There were no pastries left on the monday morning at 10am, with an hour left before breakfast began.

Review 123:The staff at breakfast were very nice and helpful: excellent in fact. The room was perfect: utterly clean and lovely. Top notch! We liked getting our paper in the morning. We liked that it was lovely and quiet in our room.

Review 124:I like everything from the lay-out to the facilities. Bar-staff were friendly and the receptionist was excellent. Would conside bringing the whole family with me the next time I visit.

Review 125:Breakfast was good but the evening menu had a very poor choice and the food wasn't great also prices were too high.

Review 126:Location giving easy access to the surrounding area.

Review 127:everything about this hotel was excellent

Review 128:Amazing
