Reviews for Hotel Villa Aurora

Review 1:Everything about this hotel was amazing. Stayed in the junior suite and well worth paying for the upgrade. Lake view with balcony just over the road from main hotel. Staff were amazing and so friendly, literally couldn't do any more for you if they tried. Would stay here again and again

Review 2:The view from our room was spectacular and it had a small balcony, the staff were warm and welcoming, the food at the attached restaurant was excellent as was their wine list.

Review 3:It is on a very narrow, busy road so walking anywhere at night would be risky.

Review 4:We loved the Villa Aurora and the restaurant that is attached to it was excellent for meals at night. Wonderful views as we had a front room on the 1st floor with lake views. All staff went out of their way to help and accommodate our needs. It was a close drive to Bellagio and it also had ferry services if you didn't want to drive to Bellagio. When we arrived they were very busy with a wedding and an 18th birthday and there was limited parking but our car was taken care of and we were made to feel as though we were their only guests.

Review 5:Everything ! Friendly and very efficient staff and top quality surroundings, amenities, service, bedroom and a really fantastic dinner and breakfast. Probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

Review 6:Exellent breakfest and restaurant ... ....the receptionist and the waiters were very helpfull and professionel ... No complaints at all .... we will be back -:)

Review 7:No hot drink facility in room, water only supplied on first day, room not cleaned properly,Parking could be better.

Review 8:Character of hotel, view from room, staff friendly.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:Nice hotel with excellent restaurant attached. Plenty of parking - which is an issue round Lake Como. Nice capable staff. Lakeside jetty and free watersports equipment!

Review 11:The position at Lezzeno was great and far less crowded than Bellagio or Como with a true ' local feel'. The hotel restaurant was also excellent food, value and staff . We ate there every night . Also best breakfast in Italy in the month we have been here.

Review 12:Noise from the bar at night, also from other rooms, embarrassing at times! No kettle or coffee machine in room. Noisy, busy road right outside hotel. Freshly made coffee at breakfast would be better than the use of a machine.

Review 13:Lovely lake view from our room. Friendly staff. Good choice at breakfast. Very clean.

Review 14:It rained so we didn't get to use the dozens of water toys they have on the lake, but that's hardly a knock against the hotel!

Review 15:The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, the place is gorgeous, the food is delicious - not a single complaint here!

Review 16:Would like have black-out curtains to allow better sleep

Review 17:Great location on beautiful Lake Como. Small town so not as crowded as other better known towns

Review 18:it was not very clean in the bathroom, stayed in the villa and had a public toilet smell in the room - location was a little disapointing was not worth the money, we had just driven from swizterland and for the money this place was expensive

Review 19:the breakfast was very nice along with the bar area

Review 20:It didn't bother us but the hotel is straight onto the road so you can hear traffic. We didn't book a lake view room but would do so if we returned as think it would be well worth it.

Review 21:Very convenient location - bus stop right outside to como and bellagio. Great terrace with sun loungers and can jump straight into lake to swim (we didn't see other places like this nearby). Free use of paddle boards, kayaks etc. Lovely friendly staff.

Review 22:this hotel is conveniently located right on the water, (10 min drive from Bellagio and walkable to a ferry stop that will get you to other parts of the area). The restaurant right next to the hotel was convenient and delicious, we went for 2 nights in a row. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There were many amenities on the water to play with (floaty, paddle board, kayak etc) we were happily surprised and enjoyed them at sunset time! The breakfast was delicious with many options. The staff was attentive and nice:)

Review 23:We arrived late - around 19 o'clock and there wasn't a place where we could have dinner as the restaurant was all booked so we had to wait three hours before finally being sitted. For the next day we made reservation and everything was ok - the food was perfect.

Review 24:What we really liked was the view and the location of the hotel, it was peaceful and beautiful. There were a lot of choices during the breakfast. Another nice thing was the privite beach that was absolutelly free for guests of the hotel.

Review 25:the room was very warm. Breakfast started at 7.30am but by 8.00am there was still no bread on the buffet.

Review 26:It was clean. Reception staff were very friendly.

Review 27:Bring plastic or rubber shoes if you intend to swim (stony lakefront)

Review 28:Great location with sun terrace right on the lake, very comfortable room with large bathroom, excellent and very reasonable restaurant (we had lunch and dinner there nearly every day for 2 weeks!). Pet-friendly staff, great amenities for kids (free kayaks, paddle, trampoline). Very short drive to Bellagio.

Review 29:The only complaint is that one of our rooms smelled of cigarette smoke. I understand how hard the smell must be to get out, but obviously a guest had smoked in room 202 - our other room 201 was perfect.

Review 30:This hotel was absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed all the amenities that were included: the kayaks and paddleboards and our children especially enjoyed the trampoline in the lake. Breakfast was in a beautiful spacious room with extensive, fresh selections. The a/c worked very well (it's hot in August!) and the bathrooms were a good size.

Review 31:The staff are very efficient and friendly. The hotel is unique in its at atmosphere and service. Great restaurant. Great lake sports facilities. Excellent breakfast.

Review 32:A bit overpriced.

Review 33:Great location! Good breakfast served on a very coasy terrace with lake view. We also had a great view from the deluxe room. Beach facilities are also on appropriate level.

Review 34:nothing

Review 35:Beautiful rooms with amazing lake view. Great food at their restaurant right on the lake and sun deck. We had an amazing day even after a serious accident we had on the way. Staff at the hotel and the restaurant were so lovely and nice that made us relaxed and enjoy our stay, we thank them a lot!

Review 36:Loved everything about this hotel! Superb location with fantastic views of Lake Como from the hotel rooms. Free use of kayak / canoe / paddle boarding facilities. Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again!

Review 37:No Air con in the rooms however the ceiling fans did work well. Rooms a little small for 3 however only needed for sleep.

Review 38:Great location, staff and restaurant on the lake. Son loved the sports activities ( as so did we). Great hotel and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Review 39:No lift; parking is an issue.

Review 40:Fantastic view from the hotel rooms. Excellent restaurant right across the road from the hotel. Free use of kayak / canoe facilities. Excellent breakfast.

Review 41:Much traffic outiside, noisy during night. No air condition only fan, made it very hot in July.

Review 42:Nice little Hotel, Great Food and breakfast. Good value for the money.

Review 43:checking out :-(

Review 44:Stayed in Villa Aurora which is a small extension to the main hotel on the lake side of the road so uninterrupted views of the lake. Our room (205) had a view to die for - the lake lapped up under the window - mesmerising! Hotel staff couldn't do enough for you. Service was excellent and breakfast pretty good too. Hotel has free parking and once there you can leave your car as there is a bus service to Como/Bellagio 20m from the hotel door (hotel sells tickets) and the Ferry up and down the lake leaves from just below the church (a 5 to 10 min walk from the hotel) You can swim in the lake straight from the sun deck in front of the hotel. Restaurant has equally good views and food pretty good as well. Think no more about your Accomodation for Lake Como and book this place!

Review 45:The hotel offers facilities for water activities. It is very friendly and enjoyable. In addition, it is easy to park and with great restaurant with lake view. Services and environment are also great!

Review 46:The road into Lezzeno is very narrow and winding. A bit daunting when you are driving a hire car.

Review 47:The location was spectacular and the view from our rooms was amazing. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 48:The cooling systems was a fan rather than a air conditioning unit which meant the room did get hot.

Review 49:Staff were so friendly and the views over the lake were beautiful. The rooms were light and airy and the breakfast was amazing. It is a short 15 minute bus ride into Bellagio and you can buy tickets from the hotel.

Review 50:Road from Como narrow and scary, better to take the ferry or bus which are also more scenic. You don't need a car, our hire car sat unused for 4 days.

Review 51:Location near Bellagio, water sports, friendly helpful staff, big comfortable villa room, fantastic breakfast, very good value, 2 meters from water! The owner speaks great English and is delightful and has interesting local knowledge

Review 52:This was literally the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is fantastic, this is one of those 3 starts hotels that really has that extra attention to detail, the interior is nicer than you expect, staff is lovely! It just has that personal touch to everything. Always friendly and happy to help. My family was positively surprised. Italy dosen't always offer the most friendly vibe and customer service, this hotel is one exception.

Review 53:There was nothing not to like

Review 54:We caught the bus from Como station and it stopped at the door of the Hotel where a staff member was waiting to help us with our luggage. Our room overlooked the Lake and was bright and very clean. Breakfast was a delight.Lovely dining room and fresh delicious food.

Review 55:The location, the view, the staff, the restaurant, the watersports.....perfect! Located just adjacent to a beautiful spot of the very scenic Lago Como, this family run property offers an excellent retreat with great accommodation, excellent food, including breakfast, great choice of water sports and very friendly staff. Some 5 star managers could learn a lot by visiting this 3 star property!

Review 56:Very nice, picturesque location, great view of the lake. Excellent service by the staff. Private parking free of charge is available. Watersports in the lake can be booked via the hotel reception. The hotel restaurant offers delicious meals with superb service o few feet away from the lake, on a terrace with great view.

Review 57:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great directions on getting around the lake. A short bus trip to Bellagio and Como and great cross lake ferry trips. Great breakfast with a cheery welcome. Enjoyed the restaurant with views over Como. Great room, with just enough room for two.A couple of shops nearby for top ups.

Review 58:Only negative was tiny; kids didn't enjoy cereals at breakfast but that's all!

Review 59:Not much to say that hasn't already been said by others. So good we've already rebooked for next year

Review 60:Family run Hotel in fabulous location. Owners & staff were delightful & couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Food in the family run restaurant was delicious & the view to die for

Review 61:Great 3 star hotel right on lake como! Beautiful location. Great restaurant. Private decking/ jetty for sunbathing, water skiing or swimming. Friendly staff. Free parking. Would book here again.

Review 62:Margeretta was a wonderful host, the position was excellent, right on the waterfront with great facilities. Very clean and tastefully decorated. Superb breakfast.

Review 63:Parking can be tricky as spaces are limited. They do pack the cars in, including double parking to make the most of the space! To get to nearby towns, if on foot you need to walk along the narrow lakeside road which can be hazardous.

Review 64:We loved our stay at Hotel Aurora - it's in a great spot on Lake Como. Our first night we stayed in one of the villas with a gorgeous view and we had a balcony and a spacious semi-private deck (shared with the other 3 villa rooms) to relax on (which looks out directly over the lake). This was worth paying extra for. The hotel has a great restaurant which also overlooks the lake with stunning views and an extensive menu to choose from. It gets quite busy so book a table to avoid disappointment! The breakfast buffet was lovely and is included in the room rate. Our favourite thing about Hotel Aurora was that you can swim, use the free kayaks, or just relax on the deck in front of the hotel, it really is in a prime spot for enjoying the lake. There is also the option to hire a boat or go wake boarding. With gorgeous weather and a million dollar view it was a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing.

Review 65:nothing....

Review 66:everything...the staff were really nice, helpful, cheerful, warm and just a delight. the location was terrific. it was one of the highlights of our trip. i recommend this hotel to anyone!

Review 67:Breakfast was great but the coffee was bad. They had a noisy 'all in one' coffee machine that gave you tons of options but none were good. A "jack of all trades, master of none".

Review 68:The staff and the restaurant

Review 69:Not a reflection on the hotel but as we didn't have a car the transport options near the hotel were a bit limiting

Review 70:Great facilities lovely room and location on the lake

Review 71:The location of the hotel was its best feature. Whilst the portion of the hotel we stayed in was out dated in its furnishings it was comfortable and clean and the bonus of having a balcony made the stay a rewarding one.

Review 72:I honestly cannot think of anything. It's been nearly 6 weeks since we have been there and we loved absolutely every single second.

Review 73:The setup of the hotel, restaurant, breakfast, bar, lake, sun deck, drinks, boat rental, lake toys and the list goes on...

Review 74:Not an roads to walk along, but discovered good bus service to Ballagio etcetera and also boat pick -up was close to hotel.

Review 75:Our room was lovely with incredible views.Breakfast was excellent as was the restaurant and staff.

Review 76:The view from the balcony was spectacular. The staff were very friendly, room was spacious, amenities fantastic, the restaurant was nice (the antipasti platter with the fried bread was incredible!). I cannot fault the hotel, we had a great experience!

Review 77:The location was perfect to be able to explore the neighboring towns. We couldn't have asked for a better view as we sat on the deck drinking prosseco & then had a fabulous meal in the restaurant. The little bar is super cute & convenient. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip! We can't wait to return!!!

Review 78:Unfortunately the food having to travel across the road had cooled before it was served to us. Hot plates may help with this as sometimes hot food was served on cold plates.

Review 79:The hotel was clean, comfortable, with an excellent choice of food at breakfast in a very pleasant dining room. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. The Conservatory restaurant food was very enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Review 80:THE RESTAURANT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE.DISHES AT REASONABLE PRICES BUT THE SEAFOOD PASTA DISH WAS DISAPPOINTING.TINY SHRIMPS... NOT LIKE THE ONE IN MY COUNTRY.

Review 81:THE BREAKFAST WAS UNIQUE! DECOR-VARIETY-QUALITY.STAFF GREAT.THE VIEW OF THE LAKE WAS FABULOUS.MAPS DETAILS ETC.PROVIDED GENEROUSLY.

Review 82:We had bleach smell in the room, and it didn't disapeared even after we open the windows for along time. Bathroom is very small, no window but clean

Review 83:The view and the nice staff

Review 84:Conveniently located in beautiful Lago Como. Very nice views and very close to Bellagio. The breakfast was good good and the staff was very helpful. Has it is own parking facility as well.

Review 85:A brighter light near a mirror would have been good – but that's the only tiny thing I can think of! I loved everything about the place!

Review 86:Family-run and friendly, the Aurora is a great base for exploring the lakes. Excellent transport links (ferries and buses close by) and a superb buffet breakfast (a rare find in Italy). Also appreciated the restaurant (excellent), the bar, printing facilities and the laundry room - a bonus for a traveller spending a fortnight on the road! I'll be back in the spring! Grazie mille!

Review 87:I proposed to my special one right here The staff was very welcoming and helpful The place has a lot of water activity if you come in the summer We continued in the following morning with a very romantic breakfast where the place is playing beautiful music and the restaurant is very beautiful We loved it!

Review 88:The staff were amazing! So friendly and helpful. We went skiing and wake boarding and the restaurant was delicious. We will definitely be back one day!!!

Review 89:bad internet (wi-fi)

Review 90:very comfortable hotel with wonderful lake view, good location and great breakfast has an equipment for wakeboarding free bikes and kayaks very good restaurant (chef)

Review 91:It's an old building on the main lake side road passing through the village which makes it a little noisy if you're a light sleeper like me but it didn't spoil our stay.

Review 92:Comfortable bed, hot shower and efficient WiFi in the room. Breakfast was a continental style buffet. Reception and waiting staff all pleasant and helpful. Restaurant food was very good with some unusual dishes and we enjoyed the wine especially. We would be happy to stay again.

Review 93:The rather steep walk from the town centre to the hotel The cost of breakfast is rather high. (We visited the local shops and did our own)!

Review 94:The views from our room and patio were simply fantastic. Decent sized room and spacious balcony with small kitchen area which was adequate for our needs. Whoever designed this small complex should be given an award for ensuring your apartment is not overlooked by anyone. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely pay a return visit.

Review 95:Everything was perfect! There wasn't much going on in the small town so you're pretty much confined to the hotel. However, it's very easy to get to bellagio or other towns.

Review 96:The staff was very welcoming and friendly - which completely made me feel like home. The fresh pastries at breakfast was great and the restaurant had great food (I ate there every night and didn't mind it). The free activities like kayaking and paddle boarding are a definite plus and access to wakeboarding every morning was a dream come true :).

Review 97:On our last night at the hotel, the entire restaurant was booked for a wedding reception so we could not enjoy the view.

Review 98:We loved our stay in this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect and our room had a balcony overlooking the lake como. The hotel is easily accessible. We were given a warm welcome by the staff upon reaching the hotel and were helped with the luggage. The restaurant is amazing and is one of the best around that area. The restaurant has a wonderful view of the lake and the food is absolutely delicious. The owners of the hotel are very nice people and we had very interesting conversations with them.

Review 99:Not very good for dog walking unless you and your dog are happy to climb steep hills!

Review 100:Everything. We were in the villa on the Lake edge and it was beautiful. The décor, the comfort, the views. The Ristorante was very good and the food and wine affordable. The staff are the best ever (and we should know as we travel extensively). Our little dog broke a tooth en route and within 30 minutes of checking in, the vet arrived after being called by Marguerita. Our special thanks to Marguerita, Christina and Patricia for making our stay so hassle free and welcoming. We did not use the car whilst there so it was very relaxing, instead we hired the motor boat. We will be back!

Review 101:Nice hotel with very friendly staff and great owners. So helpful with any request regarding buses and tourist information. An asset to the hotel is also the restaurant directly over the road where the staff and so friendly and attentive. Good breakfasts.

Review 102:Our room, though lovely, was at the back and we could clearly hear the sounds of the bar/cafe kitchen and then cleaning (washing machine/dishwashing) during the day, early evening and again in the morning. For future visits, we'd probably request a room at the front with a view of the lake. It's likely worth the extra money.

Review 103:Staff were friendly and helpful, room was comfortable, amazing waterside location, lovely restaurant with good food, superior breakfast buffet --- it was very relaxing. We only had one night - wished we could've stayed longer. Would definitely return to Hotel Aurora and recommend to others.

Review 104:Everything you want from an Italian family run hotel, friendly helpful staff, rooms were very clean and modern, views were amazing and it was very quiet! The restaurant was amazing and obviously the place the locals come to dine!

Review 105:Busy road between hotel and restaurant and suites, price of beer at bar, cramped car park, speedboats don't slow down for kayakers at hotel front.

Review 106:Great location, good food at restaurant, helpful staff, quiet in new suites, free access to kayaks.

Review 107:I've got nothing...

Review 108:Amazing stay! View is fantastic. Room (210) was very comfortable with a balcony over looking the lake. 3 days stay flew by. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet Italian breakfast. You want the Superior rooms on the lake side of the road. 210 and 209 are on top and best IMO.

Review 109:Location is very convenient. Flexibility by their team with our very late arrival. Breakfast room ambiance and Lake side restaurant was just perfect

Review 110:The staff were amazing. I stayed t the hotel for a week with many of my friends an family and could not fault anything. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Will be back again next year :)

Review 111:The fact that we stayed at the hotel and had to pay a cover price in the restaurant for our evening meal

Review 112:Excellent hotel lovely people who owned it made you feel very welcome

Review 113:Nothing much in the town so you either have to stay put or drive to Bellagio for more options of activities.

Review 114:The staff here is very helpful and friendly. We were in the new building in what is termed a "basement" which in no way resembles a basement in the US. We had incredible views from our large window, although no deck or balcony with this room. They offered some fun looking water toys which we were not able to take advantage of during our stay. The hotel restaurant has great views and good food.

Review 115:Only the door is hard to opened, also the chest got some problem. without this , everything was perfect. .

Review 116:The rooms was so wonderful, it was at the lake side, very quiet, peaceful...you will have a great scenery there, the beautiful mountains, village houses, boat and swans on the lake... And the restaurant cooked great food, i was enjoyed every means there, and they have the great services.

Review 117:everything is perfect.

Review 118:The room staff, nice breakfast! Cleanroom, lovely resturant, very close by bus stop. hotel private Tender service aren't expensive.

Review 119:Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms. Tasty breakfast. Right on the lake shore.

Review 120:Great hotel in beautiful location with friendly staff.
