Reviews for Fattoria Casa Sola

Review 1:What a beautiful property! We visited in December so it was off-season and it was a sleepy little town, but we were looking to relax and eat and drink delicious food and wine. And that we did! The tiramisu at La Toppa was unbelievable- as was our entire dining experience. Our stay at Casa Sola was comfortable and quiet. We rented a 1 bedroom apartment which we really enjoyed. Having access to a kitchen and being right down the street from the Coop market was so helpful for those off times when restaurants aren't open and you're hungry. Casa Sola does offer lots of amenities if booked in advance (like breakfast or dinner delivered to your apartment, cooking classes, etc.). We had a private tour of the property and a wine and olive oil tasting which we really enjoyed. The history of the property and the region was really fascinating to learn about. Barbara was absolutely wonderful and helpful- she gave us lots of good recommendations for our stay and made our time in the area very cozy and comfortable. And if you're there on December 8th, wish her a happy birthday!

Review 2:Not bad as such but if you don't like mosquito's don't go in September. ;o)

Review 3:Unbelievably gorgeous location in the heart of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Ideally placed for Firenze, Siena and the Chianti triangle and in a working vineyard. Lovely old buildings and perfect peace and quiet. Great staff, so helpful.

Review 4:No thing

Review 5:First I would like to thank Barbara since she was so friendly and helpful with every body , and we like the wines they have a very good wines they give us an overview for the winery and a free testing, the apartment was very clean and cozy , I hope to come back again.

Review 6:Kitchen could had more Equipment for exemple a toaster and an oven.

Review 7:The apartment was very nice and cozy. Aircondition was aslo great to have in this heat We had that week. Very nice and friendly Staff and Casa Sola make great Wines!

Review 8:No wifi in the cottages only in the main house which was very far away.

Review 9:Loved the small apartment which had the local and old feel with the modern comforts available. Loved the tour of the winery which was free to guests. Maria who toured us was the best!

Review 10:Long way from main pool & office.

Review 11:The accommodation was rustic. The bathrooms are clean & the bedrooms comfortable except if you are 8 like we were the 2 extra beds in the 4th bedroom are foldaway beds, a bit tough on adults for a week. Kitchen utensils are at a minimum, no dishwasher powder supplied. The Mosquitos were everywhere, to sit outside you need coils to keep the Mosquitos away. The win tour offered is one of the best I have ever been on (I have done quite a few). The vineyards, the wine making process was great & informative. The lesson on how to taste wine was fantastic. The wine is beautiful, the oils devine. Location is great easy access from the main highway to Siena. Centrally located makes it easy to get out & about for the day.

Review 12:Very beautiful place. Room was lovely and very comfortable. We had a well equipped kitchen and beautiful views of the vineyard, the surrounding countryside and valley from just outside the apartment.

Review 13:We ordered a baby cot for our 6 month old but on arrival late at night we found out the cot was broken and we couldn't use it. We ended up having to sleep with our baby on our bed the first night. The next day the cot was replaced promptly. When taking showers in the bathroom, the whole floor becomes wet as the shower curtains are too small. It is necessary to fully mop the floor every time.

Review 14:Fantastic spot in the countryside with beautiful walks. Our apartment was very comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely book Casa Sola again for another trip to Tuscany.

Review 15:don't buy the prepaid breakfast. It is better to go into San Donato or another town and buy your own groceries. Was very overpriced for what we actually were given. Also, you get very limited toilet paper (2 rolls per bathroom) and then must supply your own.

Review 16:Beautiful property and views. Top quality wine & olive oil, and the wine tour/tasting was very well done. We stayed in the large "white" property and it had everything 5 friends could ask for. The cooking class booked thru Casa Sola with Giovanna was worth the money!

Review 17:Nothing

Review 18:Beautiful peaceful location but within reach of some lovely hilltop towns including Son Donato and Sienna. A car is essential .

Review 19:The place looks exactly like the picture. We stayed in the red room apartment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 20:Not as close to highway as expected. Kitchen could use a microwave and more essentials.

Review 21:Good location, rustic, lovely wine tour offered

Review 22:Very rustic and typic toscan villa. Beautiful scenery. Wine and olive oil very good.

Review 23:Wi-fi far away from the apartments, very inconvienient

Review 24:Beautiful, quiet location with amazing views

Review 25:The wine tour

Review 26:The apartment where we stayed was quite a distance away from the pool and common area so it was quite inconvenient especially with children to get to the pool (at least a 15 minute walk). There is no wifi in the apartments- they only offered wifi at cost in a common area that again was quite a distance away. They require you to empty all the garbage in the main trash bins down the road and to clean up the kitchen yourself (this was not included in the cleaning fee cost).

Review 27:Beautiful grounds/setting with free parking. They offered a very nice tour and wine tasting for guests.

Review 28:Cottages were rather dated in the furniture department. Kitchen was not well equipped and all the cooking items were of poor standard the kitchen was very poor and not suitable for us as a family with a young child no electrical items such as toaster ,kettle , microwave. Hot water system and water pressure was up and down and the shower and the bath facilities were a disaster .We were looking for a place with all facilities as advertised and did not get what we were looking for there was no washing machine or dryer and if you required cleaning you had to pay for it . No internet as advertised and it took us 2 days to get internet from the reception .

Review 29:Great Location close to all the major sites in tuscanny. Nice place if you are there for a day or so .

Review 30:Wifi is only available at the "hot spot" next to the office not in the apartment, not very convenient.

Review 31:Beautiful view from the apartment, relaxing atmosphere, free wine tasting, good location in Chianti, short scenic drive to most Tuscany towns.

Review 32:Breakfast is not served: it's just some products in the fridge, for 10 Euros is a trick! nad the price of "Booking" is higher than the price of the farm10€ vs 8€. each room is in an isolated villa with some others customer, if you want to go to the swimming pool you need the car! to visit our frinds who were in another location we needed the car! Service doesn't exist, if you need something you need to take the car and go to the reception through a dirt road. Price we paid(115 € per day breakfast included) is very high

Review 33:the farm is in the middle of countryside "Chianti"but very isolated.

Review 34:Nothing...we will be back!

Review 35:Fabulous...perfect Tuscany location to make circle tour of Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Greve, Lucca...and little San Donato, the wonderful close-by village. And did I mention the vino??!! Sent a case of the Riserva home...thank you, Maria!

Review 36:its not a perfect place for families with small kids, as there is not to much to do for them; kitchen needs some renovation; you need to get there by car to move arround freely; you need to seek somebody for a while, as usually the office is empty.

Review 37:overall: a very good location. personel is kind and responsive; trully a countryside atmosphere in an old, village house with magnificent view on vineyards and olive groves surroundings; their own vines are really nice; good restaurants 10-15min drive; a bigger supermarket that is openned even on Sundays and holidays 20-25 min (Poggibonsi), 30-40min highway travelling to Florence and Siena, a number of interesting places/cities can make a stay tailored to your needes..; Early May weather did not let us to test the pool, but seems to be quite an attraction in summer time;

Review 38:Location is wonderful, house is surrounded by acres of olive trees and grapes. It is hard to fine a better idea for romantic nights by the fire, watching at the stars and tasting very good wine, proceed by the House (yes, they produce perfect wine and olive oil) Simply the best place I`ve ever been. 10/10

Review 39:The quiet, friendly people, we had a vineyard tour and wine tasting for free . Everyone at Casa Sola were helpful and knowledgeable of the local area for touring and eating out.

Review 40:Our only issue was we were there on rainy days and missed the Tuscan sun.

Review 41:We liked everything about Tuscany and staying at Casa Sola made the experience perfect. The family and staff were friendly and very helpful The winery tour and wine and olive oil tasting were very well done. We enjoyed many meals and wines in San Donato and other wonderful charming villages in the Chianti area. We do hope to return with our family.

Review 42:The location was ideal for touring tuscany, and after a long day exploring it was such a pleasant experience to return to our little piece of heaven. Opening the shutters in the morning to watch the sun rise over vineyards and olive groves is a memory that will stay with us forever.

Review 43:we had a large, comfortable apartment with a big terrace that had a great view of the countryside. The staff, Maria and Ilaria were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us with whatever we required. great stay, highly recommend!

Review 44:Ehhh... Nothing....

Review 45:All of it! This is Tuscany at its best... We stayed here 7 nights and simply loved it! The scenery, it's people and the authentic houses... All very beautiful. In the middle of the campo, the lovely Chianti, and Firenze and Siena only 30 and 40 min away. Try the cooking workshop, you'll love it....

Review 46:Great location, good accommodations. Overall, a great stay! Mid-way between Florence and Siena..... Minimum equipment in the kitchen, but all you really need.

Review 47:We were on our honeymoon and this was our favorite stop throughout our 3week trip through turkey, greece, and italy! Casa sola looks exactlylike the photos online. The staff is so friendly. Speaks very goodenglish. Matteo the owner is on site and so kind! The 2 women workingreception staff are so wonderful! They made our honeymoon magical, leaving flowers and wine out to great us and little notes. We tasted themost delicious wines we have ever had. Casa sola excels in their wineand olive oil! We bought bottles and brought them home to our familieswho loved them and had never tasted anything like it.the apartment we stayed in was magnificent. bigger than we imagined! tuscan style simple decor lined the walls and kitchen. there was a full living room area with beautiful view out into the chianti region. the bed-AMAZING. like clouds. so comfy. in the bedroom they had beautiful exposed wood beams that made you feel like you were in a luxurious log cabin. all kitchen appliances and amenities were included but remember to BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. we will never forget casa sola and the more than friendly staff and ownership. when we have a family we are bringing them back as much as we can!
