Reviews for San Francesco Resort

Review 1:Room was small and there was an unexpected additional charge for a sea view. The safe did not work. The breakfast was OK, but not exceptional, e.g., fruit was unripe. Dinner was expensive; well cooked but with little choice. Wine was expensive compared with other good local restaurants.

Review 2:A beautiful building close to an excellent beach. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:We loved this little hotel in the streets overlooking Agropoli. We only had a one night stopover as part of a larger tour, but were made to feel very welcome by the owner (who is a gentle man who doesn't speak English, but we got by). We stayed in several hotels during our trip and this one was voted as having the best breakfast, served on a terrace overlooking the ocean. It was stunning. The rooms are all individual furnished with Italian antiquities. All very charming.

Review 5:Almost nothing. The beach is covered by sea grass or something like that, which was unusual but there is a sandy beach around so that's not an issue

Review 6:Nice view if you got a room with sea view and a balcony, very good staff almost ready to hep and advise, sharming property in an old building, good breakfast. Aggroppoli itself is a nice town with a castle

Review 7:The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the town of Agropoli in which nothing special to watch. Very small room for two people 7-10 m2 . While clening the room staff were moving our personal things, it was not very nice. Parking near the hotel, but with limited parking places. If you will come late in the evening, you may have a problem with the parking. Breakfast is poor, nothing special. The beach near the hotel is wild beach, without WC and shower. If you want to have umbrella and bed you have to pay 20 euro per day. The 10-15 minute walk there are 2 beaches with bars and restaurants, but there are very crowded.

Review 8:If you have a car, you can drive to Amalfi coast, it is 1-2 hours drive. Apartment were quiet, the air conditioning worked well. Wi-Fi in the room were ok, the average speed. Breakfasts on the terrace with stunning views of the sea and the pier, on the terrace there are sofas in the evening you can sit with a glass of wine in general, suitable for romantic evenings. Staff is very nice and attentive.

Review 9:We stayed 1 night in August. A room N. 19 they gave us had nothing to see with the luxurious description for which we booked for €160.00 a night. An essential room with tiny bathroom (1x1.5mq) and tiny balcony. The room facing the interior yard (they call it a garden) where the hotel air-conditioning central is based (with 24/7 noise), old non sound-proof windows, old down wall radiator in the room barely cooling and (it was very hot in this room-the Sun beats from the early morning). Light bulbs non functioning near the bed. For us it was a nightmare stay with sleepless night. Extremely unpleasant and unhelpful reception staff.

Review 10:Wifi in room was poor, from the room you could hear the people talking in the hallway so we would oftentimes wake up after falling asleep because people would come home and talk in the hallway.

Review 11:Extremely friendly staff, great location, beautifull old building.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Everything about the hotel is perfect, beautifully kept, outstanding staff, beyond helpful. The views are incredible, food v.good, lovely rooms probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at!

Review 14:It would have been nice to have some leisure facilities at the hotel. The Turkish bath was no in use I guess because it was not high season. Only the beach and sun terrace to use and there was very limited parking on site. If you could not park there, the free parking was a significant distance away.

Review 15:The rooms were fantastic together with the sea views

Review 16:Nothing!

Review 17:Super comfortable and restful with excellent fresh homemade meals with superb flavours. Everything done with a sense of love and attention to making guests feel comfortable and utterly spoilt.

Review 18:Nothing...not one bad thing!

Review 19:The staff were meticulous and wonderful! They were caring, friendly and very helpful! The private dinners were exquisite and first class! The location was beautiful and historic!

Review 20:The manager. In the site it says that there is a spa but it cost 70 europer 1 hour!!!! It is very far from the amalfi cost.

Review 21:The vew the breakfast the staff . a very gentle girl.(regretfully Idon't remember her name)

Review 22:the beach was very near. The view from the balcony and terrace was breathtaking. Great breakfast. The staff were very helpful. Agropoli itself is a lively but relaxed town, and has plenty of restaurants.

Review 23:Everything was fantastic. Location, rooms, food and staff

Review 24:Beautiful setting, lovely hotel above the port of a delightful small seaside town. Very close to Paestum

Review 25:Nothing to dislike

Review 26:This is a beautiful place with superb staff. Very comfortable room and wonderful dinner.

Review 27:Excellent and a real gem

Review 28:None at all

Review 29:We enjoyed the location, the lovely rooms and views, the pleasant staff and excellent service.

Review 30:That room key is precious dont take it outside.

Review 31:The staff was very friendly The room The view Food

Review 32:Location on the hill

Review 33:Design Bed Breakfast Sea view

Review 34:nothing i didnt like.

Review 35:Absolutely treat to stay herel, staff so nice and friendly and place was amazing and immaculate with amazing views. Definitely go back.

Review 36:To be very picky- the shower could have been better. The water pressure was low so the water flow kept cutting out. This is only a small criticism.

Review 37:It has all been said before. The quality decor, views, most helpful staff and lovely atmosphere. You felt like you were staying in a special place.

Review 38:Wifi a bit hit and miss.

Review 39:Wonderful position with lovely friendly helpful staff. Beautiful beach 10 minute walk away and rocky beach right next to the hotel. 10 minute walk to the historic centre. The hotel was steeped in atmosphere and our room looking over the sea was sensational.

Review 40:Lack of information regarding bar and restaurant meant too few peopleused these facilities. We did not see hot tub or Turkish bath etc.

Review 41:Beautifully furnished rooms. Terrace and dining area had beautiful viewsand a luxurious air. Staff very accommodating.

Review 42:Leaving

Review 43:An absolute delight, amazing attention to detail, the conversion from a 1000 year old Monastry to a luxury resort that obviously is the product of many years of painstaking attention to detail is obvious in everything. The individual decor in each room with genuine antique furniture is a pleasure. Perched on a hill overlooking a Marina with views over the ocean and the rolling hills this is a superb location. The food and the service and the ambience that the owner and his staff create makes this a very welcoming experience, loved it and if you are traveling by road to Sicily this is the perfect place to spend the night.

Review 44:Words cannot describe how accommodating and professional the staff are. Top-notch when it comes to they're attention to detail. And the meals are beyond expectations. (The quality of product combined with the care in preparation leaves you feeling pampered and incredibly fortunate.) To stay in a 13th-century Italian monastery while enjoying 21st-century comforts is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed.

Review 45:I do not have one negative thing to say.

Review 46:Our stay at San Francesco was the highlight of our 40th wedding anniversary trip. The staff could not have made us feel more welcome or special. They went out of their way to be attentive. They cooked dinner for us at their restaurant and it was exquisite. The room was beautifully furnished and the view was excellent. Sitting by the fireplace in the common area was a pleasure.

Review 47:two days the hot water was pretty cool - made a shower invigorating.

Review 48:The staff was absolutely wonderful - couldn't do enough for a guest. My wife and I will definitely return for another visit.

Review 49:We booked 2 rooms. When we arrived, the owner wanted to give us one bigger room for just slightly less. We refused but he continued to try to convince us. The Wellness is Not included, which is fine, but he wanted 70 euros for 1 hour. We tried to negotiate but nothing changed. We offered to use it cold but he still wanted 20 euros for 1 hour. The area touching the property is dirty and Not looked After. We asked about the Hotel beach and the owner said we should go to a Beach 1 km away. You defenitely need a car. At 10.30 pm we could not get to our car anymore because everything was locked and noone in sight. In the morning, we were shouted at by him for not beeing quiet enough at 8.30 am. At breakfast there never was enough cheese and Never refilled although it was the first thing gone everytime. No information available about the surroundings. We were feeling observed everytime we left our room, maybe because we were travelling with a child. NOT childfriendly. Childfree couples given prefernce for table, views etc. Maybe all These are Out of Season problems but we expect the best Standard all year around.

Review 50:Very clean, fantastic interior, great decoration, amazing view, good breakfast, quiet surrounding.

Review 51:The town of Agropoli is not a very interesting town, a bit difficult to find a reasonable restaurant.

Review 52:Very warm reception, very nice location, beautiful view from the room, excellent breakfast, nice little and almost private beach, you have to climb down quite a steep hill, but it is worth the effort. It is not far from Paestum, which is a great place to visit!

Review 53:We really liked everything - it exceeded our expectations in every dimension: Amazing setting in beautiful landscape/ extremely peaceful/ very elegantly restored/ refined food with genuine local touch/ great hospitality

Review 54:Nothing to criticize

Review 55:Staff were extremely nice, helpful and efficient. Beautiful rooms with stunning views. Convent artifacts had been tastefully integrated. Breakfast was delightful sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea bathed in sunlight.

Review 56:Food could be a bit more extravagant.. Not fitting yet to location.

Review 57:Marvelous location with seaview, every detail considered to make thestay an unforgetable one; owner and wife very friendly and providingsuper excellent service; location is a real pearl!

Review 58:Thought the choice at breakfast a bit limiting and the fruit was not especially good.

Review 59:Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful hotel with very attentive, welcoming staff. Quiet location with fabulous views. The old building has been sympathetically renovated - will definitely return.

Review 60:A little tricky to find - do print out a google map showing one-waystreets if you are travelling by car.

Review 61:Lovingly restored building in a fantastic location. Comfortable, wellappointed room.Friendly staff. Excellent food and wine, fairly priced. We seemed to be the only visitors on a Friday night in early May - hardto understand, given the quality of the place. Worth remembering thatthis is a B&B, so it took a while to establish that we could have anevening meal there. Once we did it was very good and served in a roomwith stunning views.

Review 62:The top floor room was small for people over 180 cm.

Review 63:Very friendly staff. Very beatiful old building and carefully restored. Nice terrasses and marvellous view from our room.

Review 64:This was a 5 plus, no problems

Review 65:The hotel was delightful and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restored convent is beautifully decorated. Anyone planning a special event would love this hotel. Everything at the hotel seems to be selected with great care. The antiques throughout the hotel make you feel like you are living in another era. Outstanding experience and worth the travel to Agropoli. The views from the hotel are amazing.Paestum is nearby so that was an interesting site to visit.

Review 66:Nothing BUT the food is so good I think they should hold cooking demonstrations upon request.

Review 67:This is a true hidden gem. The owners and staff are very caring and helpful without being intrustive. The food is exceptional. The water veiw from our room was 5 star. Romantic, peaceful,a place to return to, as often as possible.

Review 68:EVERYTHING!!!! The location, accomodations, staff, food ...all above expectations. Highly recommend.!!!

Review 69:The location was stunning, The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines and food in the area, and where was good for walking

Review 70:Wi fi a small problem

Review 71:Location ambience food furnishings

Review 72:Beautiful room with balcony overlooking old town and ocean. Excellent food - family cooked and served excellent food with no menu. Good wine.
