Reviews for Al Vecchio Fontanile

Review 1:It's not that easy to find, especially in the dark!

Review 2:We arrived late - but were made very welcome with a glass of banana smoothie, delicious! The room was charming with antique furniture, I wanted to stay longer. A short drive from Rome airport but in the countryside.

Review 3:This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed at! Since we were coming from California (9 hour jet lag) we decided not to rent a car from the airport, but to take a taxi and rent a car the next day. Sabrina was waiting to greet us when we got there and showed us around. Wow, what a beautiful room! It looks exactly like the pictures shown on the internet. Some pictures of places look great, but then when you get there you are disappointed, this in not one of those places. You can tell that the owners have taken great pride in providing a beautiful, elegant and relaxing retreat for their guests. Since we didn't have a car, that night Sabrina made arrangements for our dinner, by calling a local restaurant and having her husband drive us there. Then he came back for us when we were done. The next morning we thought we had died and gone to "breakfast heaven", what a feast and it was just the two of us!!!! Thank you for making our stay, so special.

Review 4:Hosts, Sabrina and Johnny were exceptional!! They were incredibly helpful in making our time near ladispoli the best ever! Their home was beautiful and relaxing. Just what we needed after being in Rome. We spent a day at the local beach and rented beach chairs and umbrellas from Sabrinas recommendation - El Pareo. We even stayed there for a great evening meal. My husband had a birthday while we were there and Sabrina and Johnny surprised us with champagne after returning from supper. We enjoyed sitting outside in the quiet, beautiful countryside of Italy while enjoying a glass of wine and reminiscing our trip. We each give our highest recommendation for Al Vecchio Fontanile!!! Much thanks!!

Review 5:Sabrina was incredibly helpful and warm. I felt like I had arrived at my fairy godmother's, with an espresso machine outside the door to my beautiful room. Breakfast was like stepping into a dream--this was a table of plenty and Sabrina even made me two delicious cappucinos. A great night before my flight from Rome.

Review 6:The only downfall for me was remote location from the station. Also at night without local knowledge GPRS struggles to find it.

Review 7:Helpful owners - many thanks to them for going extra mile for me on several occasions! Authentic style of the interior, lovely pets, local pizza place, very nice place.

Review 8:We arrived in the dark and had a hard time to find it- mostly because 2 of our 3 GPSs didn't show the correct location. So make sure you check the exact location on your GPS prior to arriving.

Review 9:The host was extremely nice, accommodating , cared about us and our comfort. Breakfast was beautifully set up and generous. Although we stayed for only one night we had a great time. It is also conveniently located near the airport.

Review 10:If you want to get into an Italian fairytale, you have to choose this hotel. The Villa fits perfectly the rural landscape of the surrounding countryside and is a wonderful example rural style. The apartment features are not luxurious but everything is done in excellent taste: well-chosen set of furniture and accessories which forces us we experience great aesthetic pleasure (everything is very comfortable). The extended Breakfast is served in a restaurant with views of nature. The hosts are very friendly and sociable and are ready to help you any time. We highly recommend you this place!

Review 19:The host Sabrina was extremely kind and helpful.

Review 20:Easy to get lost!

Review 21:Lovely room, helpful owners. Close to the Etruscan Necropoli in Cerveteri.

Review 22:What a beautiful, spacious room and such welcoming and generous hosts! Although we only spent 1 night here, my husband and I could not fault anything. Would gladly recommend.

Review 23:No provisions for tea / instant coffee making (and large cups in room) for those who don't or can't drink ground coffee.

Review 25:leaving

Review 26:lovely people with a lovely room, very friendly and hospitable would recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a bit of luxury. Can not give a high enough recommendation to anyone out there absolutely devine

Review 27:It's a little hard to find. English speaking people need to locate this property in the day light as I am sure even with the IPad we would not have found it. There are many off shoots of Di Ceri road but look to the left for the sign La Vecchio Fontinale

Review 28:Lovely couple run this B&B! Great location for driving to Rome - we stayed here as a stop over. Breakfast was plentiful and beautifully presented.

Review 29:The noise from the motorway 200m away meant we had to keep the windows shut all night. The room became very hot and stuffy as a consequence. Air -con or at least a ceiling fan would have been very welcome.

Review 30:Close to the airport, very clean and the owners were very helpful. The breakfast offered was far more than we could possibly eat !!

Review 31:Many thanks to staff. It is a really wonderful place with a pretty niceand comfort rooms, very gentle polite staff. Breakfasts are home-madeand they are very tasty. It is near Ladispoli and Cerveteri, and Rome,so I travelled a lot to Etruscan Necropol, to Rome, to the sea etc. There is much space for parling. A hotel is based in nature countrysideso it is so Roman and beautiful. All of my questions were answered and Iwas given good recomendations.

Review 32:Very clean, comfortable, large room. The extra little things that madeit homely and lovely like the candles, bathrobes, lotions etc. Ownerswere lovely and very friendly. Lovely quick drive into Rome to spend theday sightseeing then back to a relaxing atmosphere at this lovelyb&B. Selected here because of the reviews and we were notdisappointed :)

Review 33:Noise from nearby highway.

Review 34:Large and clean room, very friendly owners, lots of extras, excellent breakfast, just 40 minutes drive from downtown Rome, half an hour from airport, large garden with private parking.

Review 35:Rooms were spotless & nicely decorated. Sabrina and her husband were very nice. About 20-25 minutes to Rome airport to drop the car off the next day.

Review 36:Near Rome, in a very quiet place. The owner is very friendly and the breakfast varied. The room is very nice although a little small. Ideal for one or two nights.

Review 37:A cosy place in the nature not far from both the immortal city of Rome and the seaside. THe family who runs the place is absolutely amazing and do everything to make you feel at home. The structure is beautiful and clean. Highly recommended!
