Reviews for Palazzo Wellness Villa

Review 1:We would appreciate more kinds of free toiletries.

Review 2:Nice accommodation in a quiet area, close to the center. We liked everything: a good breakfast, kind staff, stylish rooms and common areas, spa and free parking in the yard.

Review 3:I have been traveling for 40 years , including to many wellness hotels in Hungary but have never complained about a property before. Though advertised as a wellness hotel this is anything but. When I arrived I was the manager was away an the nice woman who greeted me had only been working for a week and had no idea how anything worked. She did not know how to turn on the Jacuzzi or the sauna.I asked if there was someone she could call to find out but she said the owner was on his way to Portugal and could not be reached. I asked if I could at least get a massage and she told me the massage therapist was not on the property. I asked if she could contact her but she said the therapist was busy somewhere else. I asked if she would be back the next day and was told she wouldn't be available then either. I had a non refundable reservation for 3 days. The next morning I asked if I could speak to the owner but was told he was not available. I called Boking.com and asked what I should do as this was not the hotel I thought I was going to. They suggested I check out and they would try to get me a refund for the 2 days I didn't stay. The owner refused claiming that everything was as advertised.

Review 4:NOTHING

Review 5:everything... it was clean, spacious, with warm and kind welcoming, nice spa, beautiful garden, good wine at very reasonable price. the host welcomed us with a good wine and gave us very good and useful information about Eger, and her advices were proven to be really good. the place is peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast room really nice with a lot of light and space and all the guests had designated tables. Eger is a beautiful historical spa town. great experience, would like to come back.

Review 6:Breakfast is from 8:00AM, a bit inconvenient for business travel.

Review 7:The place is great. The rooms are spacious. There is a big beautiful garden, where you can relax.

Review 8:Only one small criticism ... the air-con was not too efficient.

Review 9:Wonderful garden & pool. First time I've ever had a free-standing, claw-footed bath with attached champagne bucket in my room!!

Review 10:The hotel is on the outskirts of the town (though only 10-15 mins walk to the centre of town) on a leafy hillside, in an enclosed well tended garden. There are only 10 rooms, I believe, so we usually had the gardens and the pool to ourselves. Very helpful staff.

Review 11:Elegance of property in furniture, décor, attention to detail. Beautiful garden, pool, Jacuzzi and games room, Superb service which is rare in Hungary, Comfortable bed, which is rare in Hungary, Air conditioning

Review 12:Was a little warm when we stayed there so the room was a bit hot. A bit of a walk to town, not a problem for us.

Review 13:Very secure facility and well cared for. Nice spa and large clean rooms. breakfast was excellent.

Review 14:We had booked a superior with a balcony and were first put in a standard with no balcony and a back view. Thank goodness they were not crowded and I had my booking receipt to prove our room category. They moved us. We loved our balcony with a view, but I would have been unbelievably disappointed with the other room. Not sure if it was a Booking.com or other disconnect. We did not mind the walk to town, but did get lost the first time walking to town and walking back. Street signs are not always visible from the road, so a bit of a challenge finding it in the car the first time.

Review 15:You can always tell family owned places because they are so lovingly appointed and it has been well updated for guests' comfort consideration. English is limited, but we appreciated that everyone made an effort. Everyone was helpful and it worked out. We loved the pool and Jacuzzi. After a long day of sightseeing, it is so relaxing to jump in a warm pool, Breakfast was just right and we really enjoyed one of the Hungarian specialty breakfast dishes. I got the name so that I can make it. It's a very relaxing hotel, beautiful gardens, sitting areas. We enjoyed the town. We stayed 2 nights, but if we had time, we would have stayed 3 to have time to go one of the Spas. We would return here, definitely.

Review 16:A little difficult to find at first.

Review 17:Friendly, clean and quiet, the pools and garden very pleasant. Games room available, excellent buffet breakfast. Attentive staff.

Review 18:Not easy to find, and tucked away between narrow streets in uphill Eger. Our room was quite narrow, no electricity plug in the bathroom.

Review 19:Surrounded by a lovely park or garden, this impressive villa creates a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Free car park inside. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast only. Next dinner place 5 min walk.

Review 20:As previously described the villa is not well signposted from the town centre however we found it very easily using our satnav

Review 21:Very friendly staff greeted us on arrival and showed us around the beautiful villa and wellness centre. He then clearly explained about things to do in the local area. We spent a morning in the town, afternoon in "the valley of beautiful women" and the following morning relaxing in the wellness centre, heaven.

Review 22:We keep coming back to the Palazzo Wellness Villa, we have been returning for the last three years and it doesn't disappoint! Just perfect for relaxation. The owners, Valika & Attila are delightful and kind and the staff are lovely, always ready to help. The centre of the town & castle is about a 10 minute walk and there are lots of things to do & see in the Bükk mountains. We wouldn't change a thing and will be coming back.

Review 23:Liked everything.

Review 24:Attention to every small detail. Staff excellent -always willing to help and make it seem like a holiday made specially for us.Wonderful location. No evening meal but excellent wine list and sandwiches/snacks at very reasonable prices.Very quiet - excellent for exploring the town and the countryside. Will go back again to enjoy the wonderful garden later in the year.

Review 25:Facilities and service were excellent. Host was very helpful and accommodating. The walk into town was about 10 minutes, which was fine for us, but might be a little steep for some.

Review 26:Well,there were unfortunately several of them. The wifi did not work for the entire time of our stay and was not fixed, seemed like it was a reoccuring problem to them, but nothing was done. Breakfast was acceptable except that when we went to the dining area at 9.20 there was not much left and we had to ask for almost everything, even for plates. Toilette paper was not replaced, and when I asked for it, I got a half roll and it was put on the breakfast table where we were having our food...I thought it was unacceptable.

Review 27:The staff was nice and tried to be helpful. The area is beautiful, but it could not make up for the disappointments we had during our stay.

Review 28:nothing

Review 29:Everything is fine - an arrangement, comfort, very beautiful country house, a magnificent interior in the Italian style, big and very komfotny numbers, the spacious and perfectly equipped bathroom... Owners - lovely people also try to make everything that it was comfortable and convenient to you! Separate thanks to the beautiful girl on a reception!

Review 30:Unfortunatelly I didnt like the staff. *First,we didn't have wifiand they didnt help about it. *Second when we were there the hotel hasaround 10-12 guests and the breakfast saloon has 20-25 services. One timewe prefered to sit to large table which has 6 services and the staffcame to us and asked if we changed the smallest table.I Could understandif they had guests but no.An old couple came and sat on that large tableso which means the staff make a choice between guests! I neven seen thatrude story in any hotel.

Review 31:The place is awesome. You never get bored in thehotel.Decoration, furnitures, bar, garden, swimming pool and jacuzzi arevery good.Palazzo Villla is super clear and tidy. The breakfastservice was so rich and delicious. And I give 10 points about securtyand privacy.

Review 32:this is a hidden gem in Eger, all staff very friendly, speaking English and German, wines they selling are very good quality and price, highly recommend if you in Eger.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:We loved everything about the Palazzo and would recommend it highly. It was only a 10 min walk into the centre and our vehicle was securely parked on site. The staff were excellent. Our superior room was fabulous and basically, we could not ask for more. Looking forward to going back..

Review 35:The location is a bit of a hike (uphill) from the main square, and the beds are short & creaky, with hard mattresses. The villa is aiming for a "spa" feel (and it succeeds with the pool & beautiful grounds), but they should really update the beds & room decor - they look & feel very 1980's.

Review 36:The pool & spa are fabulous - very relaxing after a long day. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

Review 37:Great location for exploring Eger. The facility grounds and gardens are beautiful and create a relaxing environment. The breakfast was great and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Review 38:its rather obscure location and quite a hike back from the city centre, especailly as there is no car access to the hotel site after 2200

Review 39:the facilities are excellent as this hotel

Review 40:Can't think of anything.

Review 41:Spacious room, impeccable large bathroom, nice terrace. Unbelievable nice garden, great (indoor) pool. Overall a great place to stay.

Review 42:Location was perfect, uphill,so the view was beautiful of the town, Eger. Neighbourhood was silent, top for relaxing. Clean room and bathroom. The garden looks perfect, very cosy and colourful flowers (:

Review 43:extraordinary hotel, combines 5 star hotel with home warmness, amazing staff

Review 44:Beautiful gardens and wonderful hosts. Very quiet.

Review 45:A wonderful all round experience. Excellent facilities.

Review 46:Great atmosphere! A lot of small details that matter. Beautiful garden!

Review 47:Everything was excellent. The property, the staff and the facilities. This is certainly a top quality place to stay.

Review 48:The building and the garden is beautiful, the staff is very kind and helpful.

Review 49:the owner attitude , he felt like he is the good himself , very bad . do not go this place .

Review 50:pool , and silence

Review 51:Spacious rooms, good breakfast, beautiful garden, good location, excellent facilities - and there was a Finnish sauna!

Review 52:It's fantastic place

Review 53:- Could not connect to Wifi in our room but elsewhere at the hotel

Review 54:- Diverse and tasty breakfast - Friendly and helpful personal - Bar with billard table - Pool - Massage was very good

Review 55:Better bread please, that's the only problem to solve

Review 56:A little Paradise in a small, but beautiful town. Alway the same feeling: calm, friendly, harmonic atmosphere...

Review 57:If staff asks you on breakfast, would you like a cup of chocolate or cappuccino, pl. say NO if you don't want to pay extra because it will costs you 400 and 450 HUF and NOT free of charge. The hotel is on the mountain, so we must rely on taxi service, we provide discount coupon of taxi company to ask the hotel staff to call taxi using the call number on the coupon for us on the day of departure, however, the hotel staff don't listen to us, instead he ordered their own taxi service of the hotel for us, then the driver arrived, he told us the journey to long bus station will cost 1,100, we then learnt that he did not drive according to the taxi bill meter. When we arrived the bus station, the driver asked for 1,200HUF instead and he refused we use the coupon because he said it is different taxi company. We are not happy of the service of hotel and taxi company which arranged by the hotel. The hotel location is bad as long way to city centre, if you carry luggage it is impossible to walk, so that’s why we asked for the taxi service, we are so angry of the hotel on this point. We are making wrong decision to stay in this hotel because of the good comment on Booking.com. So we chose this hotel although it is the most expensive hotel we stayed in Hungary, we are really disappointed as the facility not suit for us, room is small, the drink their staff provided on breakfast need money but they don't tell us beforehand. There are lots of hotel in city centre which are not long journey to train station or long bus station and need not rely on taxi service. We never stay in this hotel again. It is not worth of money at all.

Review 58:Bathroom clean and big although no shower powder and water leakage in bathroom. Big garden

Review 59:The hotel was hat to find. All the other hotels were sign posted around the city but not this one. We had to call reception after 40 mins of trying to find it, but once speaking to the lady on reception she made it very clear. (It is really tricky so call for directions as soon as you're in the area rather than try to find it on your own). Staff were so unbelievably helpful and really polite. No downsides at all (except lack of signage for location).

Review 60:The hotel was fantastic inside and out. Every single detail was amazing from the service, to the room (clean, we'll presented, good quality linen) and the breakfast was great with wide variety of healthy and not so healthy options. Definitely stay here!!!

Review 61:This didn't bother us but it is about a mile from the hotel to the town centre and it was a bit of a walk from the bus station with our luggage. The train station is even further so getting a taxi is a good idea (we paid about 1400 HUF) to get from the hotel to the bus station.

Review 62:Everything you need for a quiet getaway. Hidden away where you wouldn't expect to find a hotel the modern and stylish villa exceeded our expectations. There is no restaurant at the villa but they recommended the most excellent restaurant in the town- it was so good we went back a second night. The pool and jacuzzi are lovely and relaxing and they organised a massage for me (prices are half what they are in Budapest). They stock a range of high quality wines from a local winemaker. Nice view over the city. We visited in February but I expect it is lovely in the summer when the garden is in use- there are various patios, pizza oven etc. We bought a map of the locality that shows the walking trails that go into the hills. They start virtually from the top of the street.

Review 63:Only two recommendations: They only had a few visitors while we were there. It would have been great if they could have made "breakfast to order." I loved the omelet that they made for me on our last day. The only other thing we would recommend is extending the range of the wifi into the pool/jacuzzi area.

Review 64:This is a wonderful small boutique hotel. My wife and I loved our stay here.

Review 65:Sandi made us feel at home in their wonderful (large) house. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Everything was immaculate. We enjoyed the swimming pool and jacquzi. If I come back to Egre I would certainly return to this hotel.

Review 66:Staff hover over you at breakfast like you are going to steal somethingany minute, pool and jacuzzi close at 8pm which it really too earlyafter sightseeing during the day so you don't get to enjoy it, a bitfar from town

Review 67:Place was super clean and neat, very nice breakfast, friendly staffoverall, very picturesque, organized great massage

Review 68:Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 69:We thoroughly enjoyed everything: beautiful villa, comfortable and luxurious accommodation, attentive staff. All at a most reasonable price. It doesn't get any better.

Review 70:It's a little too far out from the town centre to walk back at night from dinner, but the taxi fare is cheap, so not a big deal.

Review 71:A beautifully appointed property, not too far from the centre of Eger. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast.

Review 72:Nothing.

Review 73:Everything was fantastic, from the welcoming drink when we arrived to assisting taking our bags outside to the taxi. The gardens were beautiful, the rooms were large, clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, the spa room was large and relaxing, while breakfast was copious and varied.

Review 74:A fully booked hotel will cause parking problems.

Review 75:A fine place to come to rest in a busy world with luxury. Everything in the hotel and nearby. Great breakfast and staff that is there for you.

Review 76:The garden is just beautifull even more than as seen in photos. Anywherearround and in is very clean. The staff are very kind and are keepingthe villa to be quite and relaxed. Erxellent place to be and to enjoyin. Very good restaurant in eger "Senator" and prices are veryconvinient. We will visit again.10-15minutes walking to the city centerof eger or 2-4 euro by taxi.

Review 77:I was absolutely amazed. This was the one of the bets hotel I visited ever. Room were perfectly clean and comfortable. I will definitely book this hotel next time when going to Eger.

Review 78:Nothing special to dislike

Review 79:Great localization, beautiful garden, view from the room. Rooms are really big with air-condition. Very comfortable. Special part of recommendation should be dedicated to the owners who are very warm and friendly people. We felt like in heaven.

Review 80:Although air conditioning was advertised, we did not have it in ourroom. Nevertheless, we were comfortable in the evening and throughoutthe night with a couple of windows open. There were many cable channelson tv, however, only several in English although this may not be anissue to most people.

Review 81:If you search for Palazzo Wellness Villa using Google Map and streetview, you may not even see this place. If you use your gps to guide youthere, you will feel that you are certainly lost. The hills are steepand the streets are very narrow. As you turn on to a little side street, the property gate becomes apparent. Once inside, the property revealsitself as a beautiful oasis. Every kind of colorful blossom fills thepalate. There is almost too much color and horticultural variety to takein. The propropriters gave us one of the best welcome briefings I haveever received taking us to each area throughout the property. Theinterior is exceptionally clean with a mediterranean motif. The rooms(10) each have a different design motif. Most rooms have balconiesoverlooking the property. The rooms are quiet, secluded, and roomy. Thebathrooms are modern. The breakfast served in the morning was betterthan expected and had a good selection of fresh baked/prepareditems. The property is within walking distance from the town center.Overall, this is an excellent place to stay during your trip to Eger.

Review 82:The staff is friendly but doesn't speak much English.

Review 83:Excellent, beautifully renovated property. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rooms and facilities are outstanding.

Review 84:The 10 minutes walk to the city center is a little annoying, but I guess you can get it all.

Review 85:Great place! We found a good price so we managed to book it (otherwise we couldn't afford it) The people are very nice and the facilities are in best shape.

Review 86:The hotel is wonderful! It's beautifully and comfortably designed. I especially loved the swimming pool. I gave it a 4 on location because it was extremely difficult to find. However, it's a five-minute walk to the old fort and old part of town. So in that sense, it was a five. The owners were somewhat limited in their English, but extremely nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Review 87:Nothing!!

Review 88:This is a short walk outside Eger but the peace and tranquility made every step worthwhile. a beautiful garden, excellent facilities and rooms and superb host, need I say more

Review 89:Attila and his wife are the perfect hosts. The hotel is wonderful with aperfectly manicured garden which would be the envy of a florist. Thereis a vegetable garden which supplies the most wonderful fresh producefor the most wonderful breakfast buffet of any hotel I have ever beento. The first day of our visit Attila asked us what our interests areand then proceeded to take out a map of Eger and show us the sites thathe felt would be of interest to us. He was born and raised in Eger andis obviously proud of the history and culture of his home. He enjoysbeing a host and his priority is to make your stay as pleasant andinformative as possible. After he showed us the most interesting pointson the map he insisted we have a glass of Eger world famous wine withhim. His pride and enthusiasum to show off his home and heritage isinfectious. During our trip to Eger we forgot some personal belongingsat the hotel. We called Attila and were prepared to drive back and pickup our forgotten items. Instead he arranged a guest at the hotel to meetus at our next destination to return our items so we didn't have todrive back. Attila and his wife run their wonderful hotel because theylove people, their country, their city and want to pass their joy andpassion to other people.Excellent Hotel Dr. Gabor Sardi

Review 90:Just a beautiful location and wellness facility. Host was very gracious and breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable and bathroom was over the top. Likely the best place I have stayed in Europe.

Review 91:Not in the very center of the city, but 10 minutes walk is fair enough to take, or otherwise a cab would cost no more than 800 Ft (2.5 Eur)

Review 92:The garden is extremly beautiful, the breakfast is great. Great place for couples, but also great to book several rooms and go with bigger companies.

Review 93:The bed in the superiour plus room was very hard which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. This was surprising considering the obvious quality of the villa's appointments in general. It is located about 10 to 15 minutes (walking) from the city centre - not a difficult walk unless you have difficulty walking.

Review 94:Very gracious hosts, beautiful garden setting overlooking the city, delicious and high quality breakfast, great swimming and hot tub facilities, secure, extremely high quality bedroom furniture and bathroom fixtures, reasonable price.

Review 95:Beautiful and peaceful garden. Very quiet Very close to city center, can do everything by walking Hospitality +++ Perfect massage with very good masseur

Review 96:Breakfast could be a bit richer. I mean some egg-dishes, wider range of juices, sauseges are missing

Review 97:Familier atmosphere, with the feeling of luxury. Beautiful, big rooms, amazing garden.

Review 98:Very nicely decorated villa, comfortable, clean and absolutely cheapfor its category (which reaches luxurious). The villa is ran by thevery friendly owners. Rich breakfast, but unfortunately dining ispossible in the villa. The city centre is approximately 15 min walkaway from the villa.

Review 99:The location was excellent, close to the city center of Eger

Review 100:Matress was very hard

Review 101:Almost everything

Review 102:Bed hard Sauna didn't work

Review 103:Pool Gardens Breakfast

Review 104:WiFi signal is poor

Review 105:The quality of property, interier, appliaces

Review 106:Problems in finding a villa.

Review 107:Quiet location above the city, a sense of privacy, cleanliness and luxury, beautiful garden.

Review 108:Nice hotel with a beautifull swiming pool and very nice people

Review 109:Lovely garden. Great pool and Jacuzzi. Helpful staff.

Review 110:Aircon not great

Review 111:Great breakfast

Review 112:I like the couple who owns and run this Villa. Each room is decorated and designed to perfection.

Review 113:Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! Place is in fantastic condition and very clean/homey.

Review 114:can not name anything that we disliked.

Review 115:Everything was perfect, we are looking forward to come back!

Review 116:Hardly think of anything

Review 117:Exceptional attitude of the staff

Review 118:very comfortable. great breakfast, perfect wifi, pool, hot tub, sauna, pool table and many more.
