Reviews for Hotel Villa Stucky
Review 1:Accommodating staff, spacious rooms at historic villa in small urban area. Easy train or bus connections to Venice and the Veneto region make this a great base for my travels in Northeast Italy.
Review 2:* Shutters all closed!!! because of single window panes would not be enough to keep the cold out ... * Thankfully we got upgraded from the ghostly attick family room to a sort of king suite! That room was so wierd with 3 windows high on the roof ... * Breakfast supervisor running around to find bread, ham and other things for the people who came down for breakfast after 9 am ... * The whole hotel seems "haunted" with receptionist disappearing, with wierd rooms and no hotel guest on the corridors ... * It is very hard to find the hotel even with GPS as the hotel itself is NOT on the main road as it shows ... * The hotel grounds with the statues were nice but they were not illuminated or featured as they should have been.
Review 3:* Understanding receptionist * Breakfast Room * Stylish stairway, decor
Review 4:They went out of their way to allow us to stow our luggage as we went sightseeing in Venice as well as to acquaint us with the area. Close walking distance to the train and just a few stops away from Venice. Beautiful room-gave us an upgrade in the main Villa. An excellent and reasonably priced place to stay when you visit Venice.
Review 5:the pictures presented online were not indicative of the actual room. The hotel itself is a lovely old place with character, but we were put into a substandard motel type room adjacent to the hotel. No charming furniture or style, very uncomfortable bed, door that was difficult to unlock and a plugged shower.
Review 6:The staff were quite helpful
Review 7:The size of our room, the location close to Venice and Marco Polo airport, parking, free Wifi and an excellent breakfast. The staff were very helpful and professional with advice on travelling to Venice and the airport.
Review 8:We loved the location--perfect for parking our car and taking the train into Venice. The staff was great to explain what our best options were for traveling to Venice. It was fun to stay in a real Italian Villa.
Review 9:Breakfast was really bad. Just a few choices and all bad. You better take a room without breakfast.
Review 10:The staff were polite, the hotel very nice decorated, the room very spacious and decorated with taste. One of the best hotels to stay in for visiting Venice by car at a very good price. We recommend this hotel.
Review 11:It would be good to put nets in windows so that the Mosquitos don't get inside. I have been bitten heavily while I was there. The price is a bit high considering that you are not in Venice. The price is similar to 5 star hotels in big cities.
Review 12:The location is great as it is 5 minutes walking to the train station. The staff is very helpful and the hotel is well maintained overall
Review 13:Clearly once a gorgeous private house and with a little more investment and tidying up could return to being glamorous hotel. Great location for airport, trains to Venice and a two minute walk into the local town for a meal whilst remaining quiet and secluded.
Review 14:While looking for a suitable hotel, we searched for 3 persons room with 3 beds. We did not wanted an additional bed. We were extremely disappointed when we have got bed that was almost impossible to sleep on. First night on this bed was a nightmare. Second night the hotel gave as normal bed as booked and paid for.
Review 15:Attractive villa, and much cheaper than staying in Venice. We could park the car for free. 5-10 minute walk to train station & 20-25 minutes into Venice. We did not purchase breakfast.
Review 16:We had a couple of issues. Although the (very young) staff tried to be very helpful, running out of things seemed common (e.g. running out of orange juice often). We also booked one triple room with extra small bed, and we had the spare bed removed to give to other guests half way through our stay It was promised to return it but it didn't happen, just like the shower that fell on my daughters head which also was never fixed. Only a small thing but the beds were very very hard.
Review 17:Great location which is probably under-rated. Villa Stucky is a 2 minute walk from the train station which takes you straight into Venice St Lucia every 1/2 hour. It's a great way to visit Venice, but escape form the bussle every evening. Mogliano Veneto is also a lovely little town with a very pretty centre. Villa Stucky is a beautiful old building that is very carefully looked after, and gives you the impression of staying in a small Palace with lots of gold leaf furniture and poliches wood floors and doors - very beautiful. The grounds looked ready(and ideal) for wedding receptions with a small pool, canopies, lovely garden and seatin, there was also plenty of parking.
Review 18:Great location, easy drive to/ from Venice airport. Much less expensive than staying in Venice. 5 minute walk to train station with frequent service in and out of Venice. Great restaurants just blocks away. Lots of character. Would stay here again!
Review 19:The room was dusty, the fridge didn't freeze enough, the sink was clogged and the problem wasn't solved despite our repeated demands, uncomfortable bed, there was no restaurant, poor breakfast.
Review 20:Nice village, not far from Venice.
Review 21:Weird plastic shower cubicle was very out of place in such a traditional / historically styled room. Odd seventies music being played in the lobby area was totally at odds with the style of the buildings... I'm sure this was the managers choice for the day, perhaps they need to tune the radio to classical, or at least something cool.
Review 22:Beautiful decor, great furniture, lovely staff, great breakfast.
Review 23:nothing special. we were there for the second time, almost everything was good.
Review 24:Location near to Railway station to Venice, fammily atmosphere and comfort. Little pool was pleasent suprise.
Review 25:Not allowed food and drink in the rooms - but good facilities for eating outside
Review 26:Rooms and corridors of Character. 10 minutes from the train station which is 20 minutes train ride from Venice
Review 27:So i don't remember i have got sommethings to dislike!!!!!
Review 28:I have not anny complaints about the hotel or staff!!! The hotel and garden are nice. Mestre of the centre ....
Review 29:There were big bugs in the shower room. Dirty floor in the shower room´s corners.
Review 30:Beatiful disain of the building, beatiful statues outside, good breakfast
Review 31:Posters with threats to add extra 5 euro to bill, if they found food remains in room (f.e. pizza). Few times no-one was in reception, but that wasn't big issue
Review 32:WIFI coverage, location, plenty of parking space. Friendly owner (?)
Review 33:The location is convenient for travelers who want to avoid lugging baggage to their hotel in Venice. Venice is a short (20-30 minutes) train ride away. Frequent trains (except 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Short (15-18 minutes by car) ride to airport (VCE).
Review 34:The facilities were disappointing - no kettle or refreshments in the room, and the bar was quite limited and expensive.
Review 35:We stayed at Hotel Villa Stucky for 5 nights in June. We were able to take a short bus and train from Treviso airport to the hotel, which is a 5 minute walk to Mogliano Veneto Station. Really beautiful hotel with plenty of traditional features inside the hotel and rooms, and the grounds of the hotel also include a small pool. Friendly staff, super quick and simple to travel to Venice from. Highly recommended location, and would also recommend eating within the local town.
Review 36:We booked the value of the day and they gave us a room outside the main building. When we went into the room it reminded me of a Motel 6 – PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET OR PAY FOR A ROOM IN THE "MAIN BUILDING." We asked the front desk to move our room because the AC didn’t work well. They very nice and moved our room into a BEAUTIFUL room main building. The breakfast is a simple, small, cold breakfast so don’t expect a lot.
Review 37:was SUPER clean, very pretty, great value and they were very nice. Would stay again for sure.
Review 38:Uniqe hotel, magical like a castel, big rooms and very clean. The staff is very cooprative one. 5 min walking from the train to Venice and the place itself has good shopping center. most recomded
Review 39:We had no great expectations of breakfast but even the bread was stale. The staff on duty in the morning were surly. We could not check out late but there was no secure place to leave our luggage - you leave it at reception which was unattended and anyone can walk in off the street and take your luggage without their knowing. Their sister hotel right near the station is far better for a little extra - staff are friendlier and at least the bread has never been stale at breakfast. The staff need training in customer relations.
Review 40:Very little
Review 41:No bad experience
Review 42:The rooms are big , comfortable an very clean. There is a certain Charm to the whole place. The Manager was very courteous an made us feel welcome Very close to the station
Review 43:Poor breakfast, it could be improved a lot by adding some eggs, and more than only 1 type of ham and cheese
Review 44:Excellent location, the villa is beautiful, has own private free parking and is close to the highway and train station
Review 45:Nothing!
Review 46:Location only 20 minutes from Venice on the train. Station is a short walk from the hotel. Lovely local restaurants and bars, serving authentic Italian food at very good prices. Good nights sleep here as the hotel is off the main Treviso to Venice road. Staff helpful and friendly. They speak excellent English. Hotel typical of Italian Murano glass chandeliers and 'old Italian charm' furniture" antiques. More than adequate continental breakfast
Review 47:The sleep was unconfortable because the double bed was made from 2single beds. That was annoing.
Review 48:The rail station is about 5 minutes and Venice is about 20 minutes bytrain. The best way to visit Venice from this location is by train, only5 eur par person.
Review 49:This was my third stay at this hotel. The first two were a bit disappointing, but I thought that I should give the hotel another chance as I like the setting and location, including a free parking. This time I did not want to repeat the not-so-good experience from the previous stay and made sure that I book the room (for two nights) in the main building, not at the dependency. Upon checking in we did get the room in the main building, however on a ground floor and the room did not have a window (!). It had a door to the back of the building where the maintance yard is, but no window. Naturally, we would not be able to leave the door open at night, and I could not imagine waking up in the sunny morning in pitch dark, so we requested another room, this time with a window. The staff reluctantly provided another room on the first floor that was marginally better, and most importantly, it had a window. However, the whole experience left us with a bitter taste due to a poor attitude of the reception lady handling the matter. We respectfully requested to speak to the manager, but he was not available (it was around 5 PM). Next morning we tracked down the manager who did not act or look professionally (was wearing the jeans and a T-shirt). He was not willing to do anything for us to make our stay more pleasant, except that he offered us a junior suite for extra money. We did not feel that it is fair considering what we had to go through the day before, and declined to pay more for the room. By the way, my girlfriend found fresh bites on her foot in the morning what looked like from bedbugs. There must be better choices in Mogliano Veneto...
Review 50:Location - close to the train station with a link to Venice, and nice setting in a quiet area.
Review 51:I didn't see such old and noisy conditioner anywhere, maybe it is 200 years old like villa. We booked triple, but it's size was tiny.
Review 52:Quiet and very nice town next to Venice, 20 min by train. Ancient villa with friendly personal, good breakfast.
Review 53:Lovely location in a small community just outside Venice. Great rooms very traditional in keeping with a manor house. Great restaurants within 2 minute walk. Great links to Venice, train is 5 minute walk and takes 20 minutes into Venice.
Review 54:Breakfast for 7€ was not worthy. Caffee from machine. Juice tasted more water. Toaster was not kept hot (we need to put the toast again and again until it became crisp). Only 1 kind of cheese and 1 kind of ham. Definitely far from 4 star standard hotel. No egg or other warm dishes.
Review 55:Close to train station and good access to Venice (better to take train than using car-it costs 26€!). There was a good pizzaria nearby.
Review 56:Old style look and feel should not be excuse for properly maintained building. Might be 4* due to size of the rooms etc. But ussualy quality of living is in the best case 2*. Owner is loosing potential.... You should rather choose different hotel, it can be only better.
Review 57:Good place if you want to go to Venice.
Review 58:The breakfast was definitely not worth the 10 euros we paid. The hotel seemed empty and understaffed in the summer period.
Review 59:Easy to get to Venice by train from Mogliano Veneto. Exceptional decor for a hotel. A pool for younger children. Very centrally placed in Mogliano Veneto.
Review 60:The church bells every morning and day... Breakfast ok, fresh coffee only if you ask for it. The room was not perfectly clean. Trash in the trash cans, hairpins on the floor etc. You need a car if staying here.
Review 61:Nice staff, big room, good bathroom, nice garden, nice village.
Review 62:Nothing
Review 63:Good breakfast Nice garden Large 4 person room Very nice and beautiful house Very nice village there the hotel is central close to everything
Review 64:The place was very beautiful and so clean and elegant. The front desk service was so great and able to talk one on one and give advice tips and directions to local areas. Will definitely visit again!
Review 65:Beautiful property with a short walk to the train station. Very charming accommodations.
Review 66:Location is very good for venice on 20 mins on the train.
Review 67:Nothbg
Review 68:The staff are extremely helpful and friendly They make sure you are well looked after
Review 69:Hotel had a private party which was loud and lasted until late at night.
Review 70:Location, close to center and train station. Town is nice.
Review 71:Very bad Breakfast! Cleanless is not standard for a four star Hotel.
Review 72:Amazing Building and Interiour
Review 73:The small pool was a bonus
Review 74:nice swimming pool and jacuzzi (at > 30°C :-)
Review 75:Air conditioner was a bit noisy
Review 76:It's a nice place to stay.
Review 77:Room Light was too dark.
Review 78:Staff were kind. Villa outside and inside were lluxurious.
Review 79:Large room, clean and filled with character. Only a few minutes walk to the railway station which takes you right into the centre of Venice.
Review 80:Great value, beautiful old quaint villa, friendly staff
Review 81:Nicely decorated and sorrounded by a park. Great location close to the train station (15 min by train to Venice) and great restaurants.
Review 82:the lock always stuck in my room , need 5 minutes that open door :)
Review 83:location , garden , wifi
Review 84:They do not have an available PC for guests
Review 85:The amount of space in the rooms
Review 86:The maid always closed the window spalette making the room a dark cell.
Review 87:The hotel is a cost saving alternative to stay in Venice area.
Review 88:NONE
Review 89:EVERYTHING. The stuff, the room, the atmosphere, breakfast, the location and the bathroom.
Review 90:Beautiful rooms, Peaceful surroundings.
Review 91:breakfast was substandard
Review 92:the bedroom and the property itself
Review 93:beautiful building and rooms, marble floor, new and comfy bathroom, shower with water massage, very friendly and polite staff, good breakfast.
Review 94:Very friendly staff, central location, very good value for money
Review 95:I asked for a double bed and got 2 twin beds together and the mattress was awful. The breakfast is poor and the yogurts weren't kept cold.
Review 96:We stayed for 3 nights and went to Venice every day. There's a good train service, but if I go back I would rather stay in Venice.
Review 97:Breakfast was pathetic. Revolting machine coffee and dry pastries, very little fresh fruit (an apple) and nothing hot, very few decent facilities at the hotel for the price. Mogliano is not what it used to be, more built up and less charming, it even seems to have its own prostitute on the main road at busy periods now.
Review 98:Old world charm
Review 99:Limited and fairly expensive bar.
Review 100:Nice location, close to village centre and bars and restaurants. Very nice Venetian decor, good breakfast buffet constantly topped up by attentive staff. Very nice room.
Review 101:While it is a relatively short train ride to Venice I was only there for1 night on business. I would have liked to have gone to Venice for theevening, but it was all too tight a fit with my schedule. Next time Iwill stay in Venice itself, even if it's more expensive.
Review 102:Rooms are nicely decorated It is very clean Restaurants close by
Review 103:Very convenient for train to Venice. Trains to Venice frequent and cheap (12euros for unlimited travel to/from Venice for a week.) Lovely old Italian Villa, big rooms.
Review 104:I would have preferred a more substantial breakfast menu but this is wasonly a minor irritant.
Review 105:The Villa Stucky was an excellent choice for my wife and I mainly due toits close proximity to the railway station for the short 15 min trip toVenice. We spent 5 nights their and enjoyed it immensely. Forget stayingin Venice and struggling with your luggage there. There is plenty ofparking at the Villa Stucky and the staff were great who were alwayshelpful to us. The wireless internet worked well using their own netservice without having to mess around logging on to some 3rd party toget complimentry internet.
Review 106:The place is as if had been taken from a fairy tale just in a middle of a small lively town. Great pizza just infront of the hotel. Less than 5 minutes walk to the train station and a train that makes only 3 stops till you get to vanice. Couldn't ask for more.
Review 107:Hotel is located in 2 buildings: beautiful villa and a ground-floor pavilion. Our room was in the pavilion, although during reservation there was no choice between these two. Glasses in the windows are not transparent so it was dark in the room. Price for the pavilion should be lower.
Review 108:Room was spacious. Cleanliness was very good. It's only 20 minutes by train to get to Venice.
Review 109:Breakfast quite simple, An incident (because of old building) resulted in room-switch, but actually we got a better room so quite ok.
Review 110:Staff, Excellent information about surroundings, Good quality for the money, compared with Venice Centre, Good transportation with train directly into Venice, Nice antique furniture, Excellent Pizzeria just opposite, Very quiet.
Review 111:None
Review 112:Extremely friendly staff, very helpful, the buffet breakfast was lovely with loads of options, we loved our stay at this hotel, were given a lovely room, hotel is very near to Mogliano train station from where you can get frequent trains to Venice st.lucia.
Review 113:Nothing to complain about. But as a suggestion for the hotel, maybe more fruit and a selection of bread at the breakfast table.
Review 114:Great hotel with friendly staff, value for money ! The hotel has really read the complaints written earlier and taken care of them, so don't base your decision on previous experiences (The tea didn't cost a fortune, it's clean etc). The location is perfect for visiting Venice, it's just a 15min train ride (15€ fam. 2+2 return) and the hotel is 5min walk from the station (map in reception). And last, the decoration is spectacular !
Review 115:Very dirty and allot of dust, inside and outside of the hotel, also the juice machine of breakfast was not cleaning ever in it's life. This is something I consider unacceptable at any price. Do not expect a 4 stars and do not expect much from breakfast.
Review 116:Parking and friendly and helpful staff
Review 117:The town is not the most vived
Review 118:Excellent, helpful staf. Excellent train connection to Venice. Beach at 40 minutes by car. Good combination possible beach/Venice
Review 119:No one mentioned that when booking a villa you can end up in small house behind the villa, entering into your room from the parking lot. It was not clean, it had no air condition and people were walking all night in front of our door/window. It was more like low budget motel in the US than a 4 star hotel. After complaining we end up being transferred to villa - although staff said "rooms are the same", trust me they are not!
Review 120:Location is great, it is very easy to reach train station
Review 121:Breakfast good - could improve selection
Review 122:Large rooms comfort throughout hotel ample secure parking close to train to Venice village with good amenities Value for money
Review 123:expected more of a 4 star hotel, comfort was more like 2 stars, but price was ok
Review 124:friendly and helpful staff, close to Mogliano Veneto Metro station, that goes directly to Venice
Review 125:Coffe and capuccino in the breakfast, that machine should be replaced.
Review 126:It's 5 min on foot from the train station to Venice, the city iscalm and is possible to relax after a tourist day. The decoration ispretty, staff friendly, good free parking and breakfast is not that bad.
