Reviews for Brighton House Guesthouse - Ireland

Review 1:The only thing was the bed was very high and I'm only short. So slight difficulty getting into bed other than that everything was excellent including the comfortable bed (once I got into it)

Review 2:The room was huge, very clean and we'll decorated and cosy. The owners were very very helpful and breakfast was excellent

Review 3:On my way to the Dingle Food Festival, I stopped at Brighton House for the night. It is a lovely, nearly 200 year old house, decorated in mostly period pieces. Lighting and bathroom fixtures have been updated, as well as having a flat-screen TV on the wall. If you're looking for a sparkling clean, sterile accommodation, go stay in a generic hotel room. This is not the place for you. The rooms are clean and welcoming, but not "hotel room" sterile. This has a real home atmosphere. Pat and Bernie, the hosts, treat you like a friend, recommending places to eat, places to visit, and the closest place to access an ATM. The rooms are so quiet, it was like living in the country! On returning from Dingle, I considered visiting another town, but returned to Brighton Place and Clonmel for my last three days, knowing it would be a restful and enjoyable end to my visit to Ireland.

Review 4:Pat and Bernie are lovely hosts. If you like a cozy, quiet, homey place to relax after a day of site-seeing or shopping, Brighton House fits the bill!

Review 5:There was a slight problem with our booking due to a computer glitch.

Review 6:We absolutely loved this Georgian house with it's huge comfortable rooms which were furnished to reflect the era. Our hosts were such interesting characters and so knowledgable about Ireland's history. There was a secure rear car park which was great and also unexpected.

Review 7:The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean . I love the decorated of the room. The food was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 8:The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. We had three rooms. They were comfortable and clean. The food was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 9:I couldn't fault a single thing about our stay here, Pat the owner went out of his way to help us out while we were there, I would have no hesitation in recommending The Brighton Guesthouse to anyone, it was a pleasure to visit.

Review 10:Beautiful house, spacious rooms and lovely furniture. Very close to town centre with all it's shops, pubs, etc. Very friendly owner, rightfully proud of his front garden.

Review 11:Because of high ceilings and unusually cold weather for May rooms were chilly. There were space heaters and in winter central heating.

Review 12:Very convenient location in centre of Clonmel with safe parking. Attentive host. Beautiful period rooms.

Review 13:Shower just a little too low for my 6' 1" size.

Review 14:Lovely Georgian house. Great sized room, ample space for the three of us. Travelled with our teenage daughter. Pat and Bernie were excellent hosts. Good knowledge of the local area. Good breakfast, hot and fresh local produce.

Review 15:Was allowed leave luggage in early.Great spacious room with all necessary items and generous toilettries. Interest of host in my coming and going which as a solo guest walking was welcome and safe. Breakfast excellent and particular needs met. Went out of way to give me a lift to visit someone. I'm heading back for another four nights!!

Review 16:Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order at a time of our choosing. It is run by a very friendly and helpful gentleman. It is convenient for town but the rooms were really quiet

Review 17:No problems of any kind

Review 18:We were close to everything, we called earlier than the checkin time but we were allowed to leave our bags while our room was been made up,also on chekout our train wastnt for a few hours we were allowed to leave our bags while we went out for few hours ,the room was excellent the bed also and a great breakfast and hosts were very helpfull, i would have no problem recomending this to anyone and will use again if staying in clonmel.

Review 19:This is a Georgian house with old style décor in a quiet area but unfortunately I was kept awake by a TV in another room until all hours of the morning. I think the introduction of TVs in B&Bs is so unnecessary and in this case is not in keeping with the overall character of the house.

Review 20:Liked the style of the room and beds very comfortable.

Review 21:Unusual, quirky and fascinating Georgian house and easy access to town centre. Our hosts were fascinating and full of local information. Probably one of the best breakfasts I had in the 10-day trip.

Review 22:Owners treated me as virtually one of the family. Always helpful and ready to offer their assistance and knowledge to make the most of the stay in Clonmel and surrounds.

Review 23:Leaving.

Review 24:From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed by Pat and Bernie the owners of the guest house. They really could not do enough for you from information about the local area to where to drive to and in helping with tracing family. The guest house was very homely. The bedrooms very spacious and the bed very comfy. Pat & Bernie's traditional breakfast was gorgeous!!! Only the best Irish produce. We even went to the butchers to buy the white pudding. We loved are stay and were really sad to leave!!! We will be going back.

Review 77:The rooms are a very good size and the car park was locked at night so excellent for our motorbikes. The owners were very helpful providing advice on local facilities.

Review 78:We travelled to Clonmel for a family funeral. We could not have chosen a better place than Brighton House. We were really well looked after and the owner Pat Morris showed extreme compassison and understanding which was clearly missing at the Ryanair checkin desk, as my Mother had forgotten her passport and was not allowed to travel despite other numerous choices of photographic ID which she was able to produce! Brighton House was ideal for our purpose and we will most certainly recommend it to friends and stay again in the future. K Tobin

Review 79:Sweet town, has best pub in Southern Ireland. Inn is a stately oldtownhouse with extremely gracious owners. Go see St. Patrick's Well, worth small side trip.

Review 80:The guesthouse is in a beautiful, historic building, and its spacious rooms have been maintained and furnished with utmost care. It was a pleasure to stay in. The friendliness and genuine hospitality we encountered was second to none. A most recommendable place to stay and definitely worth coming back to.

Review 82:Room was large, comfortable, well kept and clean. Pat is gregarious and very helpful and provided hints on what to see/where to go. Breakfast was good and wholesome. Location has good access to surrounding sights up to 2 hours drive. Clonmel has some good restaurants.

Review 83:The bed is a tad too squeaky.

Review 84:The 200 year old house has a lot of character but with all latest facilities: kettle, tv and free wifi throughout the house. Pat is an excellent host and serves one of the best B&B breakfasts we have ever had.

Review 85:Very welcoming owners. Lovely Georgian accommodation with large airy rooms and old fashioned furniture which gave the accommodation a lot of character. Great breakfast.

Review 86:The hall/entrance was in need of re-decoration, could be have been off-putting. They had no leaflets/info on what was in Clonmel.

Review 87:Bedroom was beautiful, oldworld , spacious but equiped with all modern conveniences. Was bigger than some hotel bedrooms. At corner ,edge of shopping town/country . Quiet at night too.

Review 88:Although in centre of town, really difficult to find! A bigger sign outside would have helped..
