Reviews for Yani Homestay
Review 1:We stayed in a twin room on 2nd which had no bathroom. The shared bathroom was not as clean & nice as dorm room bathroom
Review 2:The place was clean & Julius was very friendly & helpful. There was a flat screen TV in the room, as well as a lounge to chill in
Review 3:Shared bathroom, smell
Review 4:In the first room we had a private bathroom - so it is ok, the next one - shared bathroom - horrible - prety dirty and smelly. For that money you pay it is ok. Wifi works well
Review 5:Room slightly shabby but acceptable. The superior room had translucent curtains so it was slightly uncomfortable at night.
Review 6:the place is super simple (toilet paper and blankets not provided in the attached bathroom) but a decent place to spend a couple of nights. The owners are friendly and the location is prime , next to the beach and a superb Indonesian eatery locals patronize, and which is open during fasting season too, when it can be very hard to find food.
Review 7:Toilet was apparently a bit loose from the tiles. Every time you flush, the flushed water leaks out onto the floor. Not really hygienic and probably causing the weird smell in the bathroom. Be prepared for cold showers! Not so comfortable when it already pours outside from 4 in the afternoon on and you arrive at the Homestay soaking wet.
Review 8:Double room was comfortable. Includes a private bathroom that was clean. Breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and helpful. WiFi worked everywhere in the property.
Review 9:none
Review 10:Yulius took good care of me. Arriving early in the morning by bus, he offered my the sofa to relax until I could do an early check-in into my room at no extra charge. He also presented to me water and some sweat bread as breakfast on the morning I had to leave early to the airport. Very thoughtful and a nice gesture indeed! Thanks a lot!
Review 11:It is Indonesian standard hostel, you cannot expect luxury, so it was more than ok for that amount of money
Review 12:People are nice, can speak english, are able to help in getting to many surrounding places (ask for tour guy Allan), aurcon, tv, clean shower it is more you can nirmally expect there.
Review 13:Room with no bathroom had to use shared/communal toilet- no shower & not too clean. Kitchen area was clean when we arrived, guests cooked for dinner & left a mess overnight, disrespectful!
Review 14:Good walking distance to all areas, beach, bridge, Chinatown & the centre. Rooms were spacious, tv, ac very cold. Airport shuttle. Staff friendly & helpful
Review 15:I can’t present more appreciation to the hotel staffs when they helped me to get back almost lost wallet. All staffs there are very nice and helpful for my trips there.
Review 16:Stayed here for three nights and it was nice. Julius was helpful with directions to town and for places to eat. Place was small but comfortable. A few power cuts here and there. Place kept very tidy and was locked up at night for security. Wi-fi worked well with strong connection. Julius has a small shop at the front of his place where you can buy snacks, drinks etc at very reasonable prices. He is very friendly and helpful - so ask him iif in doubt! Yani homestay is just a short walk to town. Free coffee and tea upstairs is a nice touch. (Ask for some traditional coffee without the sugar if your tooth is not too sweet!) Very friendly place to stay and met some really nice people here… Doni also works here and is awesome. He helped me a lot learning basic Indonesian. After organising it the night before, Doni purchased some fruit for me (from the local market) on his way to Yani Homestay in the mornings – what a legend! Fruit was amazing - dragonfruit, durian, mangosteen, mango, rambutan (like lychees), guava, bananas, jackfruit, starfruit. He also took me around the town for a haircut and to find the best beef rendang I have ever tasted. One of the nicest guys I’ve met in Indo! I’ll be coming back if/when I’m back in Padang. Thanks for everything Julius and Doni ☺
