Reviews for Hotel Horn
Review 1:Breakfast could be better. Location was hard to find partly due to being new and unknown by locals and navigator.
Review 2:A little out of where you want to be. New but well done with great floors. Reasonable but not great breakfast
Review 3:Breakfast was served at another hotel, about a 2-3 minute walk. We had good weather, but if it's raining...
Review 4:Good location in the middle of town. Room was fine. We liked the elevator which is just a platform to stand on.
Review 5:Updated hotel with a modern interior and large room. Central location - check-in and breakfast is at the sister hotel ( Hotel Isafjorour) just a few minutes walk away. Excellent Value!
Review 6:Noise from the street and the marina (ship painting and maintenance), breakfast is great but expensive, the room was small and felt expensive for the size and lack of amenities.
Review 7:The staff was great.
Review 8:The breakfast is too simple as the average in Iceland. You need come to their sister hotel restaurant for a dinner. The restaurant is just so so.
Review 9:The facility is quite good, even much better than most of 3 star hotels.
Review 10:The entry/lobby/breakfast area.
Review 11:Great location right in the middle of Isafjordur. Our room was clean and modern, but the rest of the hotel felt a little odd. Guests enter through the little breakfast area, which just seemed wrong. We are not great fans of the typical Icelandic hotel breakfast buffet but skipped this one in favor of coffee and a roll at the bakery, in part because of the layout.
Review 12:The TV with only two channels, the windows not so easy to close, mainly when there's a storm, the reception closed at 8pm, the price.
Review 13:The bed, the shower.
Review 14:The Wi-Fi coverage in the hotel is mostly nonexistent. After bringing it up with them it worked for a couple of hours and then was gone again.
Review 15:Perfect location, nice rooms, good breakfast.
Review 16:We had to go to the sister hotel to pick up the key card as there was no one on reception in our hotel.
Review 17:We were given a huge room on the corner of the hotel with tall windows running along 2 walls. It was light and airy with a big comfortable bed and not bad views.
Review 18:Clean, comfortable, good location for Town Centre. Try the Pizzza restaurent in the music shop nearby for a not too expensive bite. Nothing special, but everything worked, was new and comfortable.
Review 19:I think this must be an Iceland thing, but when they say double bed on the booking site, I figured it would mean 1 double bed, not 2 singles... Slightly bothersome, but not a huge deal
Review 20:The espresso machine, in the "lobby" was nice to have! The bedding was also very nice. The hotel was clean and well decorated.
Review 21:not much space in the room. Reception does not care about our questions, just talking to each other. Very old and weird lift. Expensive breakfast (11 EUR), so instead we went to a nearby bakery and had a wonderful breakfast there.
Review 22:Location in the city, near all restaurants and shops.
Review 23:This is basically an overflow hotel for the Hotel Isafjordur (3 mins walk away). Wifi in room was awful and we were lucky that a receptionist was there when we turned up. Breakfast was distinctly average by Icelandic standards.
Review 24:The location was excellent
Review 25:No complaints.
Review 26:Beautiful new hotel in a beautiful setting. Convenient to everything in Isafjordur. Corteous and helpful staff. Amazing shower and attention to design details.
Review 27:I was with my 15 year old son, so WIFI was a must, and we had none in our room. He had to go down to the second floor seating area to connect.
Review 28:The hotel is in a good location in the small town of Isafjordur. the room was adequate~clean and quiet. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking a street and the mountains.
Review 29:Cleaner had left a bag of recyclables outside our door but the room was clean and brilliant otherwise.
Review 30:Central, easy walking to craft, restaurant, and harbour areas - breakfast is basic European but adequate and healthy. Walk to Folk Museum for delicious fish dining.
Review 31:Hotel Horn offered up excellent and modern accommodation for our family stay in Isafjordur. Its located in the center of town, close to everything and as an added bonus, is close to a primary school where our toddler was able to play. The staff was good enough to give recommendations on local restaurants and make reservations for us, which we thought was very helpful. The hotel rooms themselves are very nice - modern and a bit minimalistic in style, they felt like loftspaces you might find in New York, with clean lines, high ceilings and monochromatic color palette. The beds were comfortable and linens clean. All in all a very nice hotel experience.
Review 32:Late night check in was slightly confusing insofar a it requires visiting a nearby (1 block) hotel with 24hr staff.
Review 33:Roomier than average, beautiful and clean, excellent bathroom, in the heart of Isafjordur with friendly staff and good breakfast. We plan to return.
Review 34:One should know there is not an elevator/lift if you have difficulty with stairs or carrying luggage. I'm sure staff would help with luggag.
Review 35:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay at Hotel Horn again. Location was perfect for walking everywhere. We did not take option for breakfast in order to try local cafes.
Review 36:The elevator is a bit spooki. But functions well. Is part of the adventure !
Review 37:Isafjoudur is a very small town And the hotel is well located. As with most hotels In Iceland they are very expensive for the frugality of their hotels and the services they provide. It was a good choice in spite of the mentioned factors. I believe I would return to the same hotel in a return visit to the area.
Review 38:Staff at the hotel itself was not very knowledgeable or available. There's a shared arrangement with the Hotel Ísafjörður whose staff was very helpful. I expected more for the expense.
Review 39:Location, cleanliness.
Review 40:Reception only staffed at certain hours - our room key stopped working on second day and we had to go, in pouring rain, to another hotel to get it sorted out.
Review 41:Location - central, convenient to everything. Room comfortable and clean. Good breakfast.
Review 42:1) Breakfast was not included in the price of the room. 2) Check-in was at a different hotel and the instructions concerning that were not real clear. 3) Shower curtain didn't contain shower spray and made for a wet messy bathroom.
Review 43:The Horn is right in the center of town and walking distance to everything. Very comfortable facility with space to relax in. Wi-fi worked in the rooms. Computer in the public area was fast.
Review 44:Check-in time was a little specific (IIRC there were no staff there before 4pm), so double check!
Review 45:Friendly, though not super knowledgable, staff. Nice cozy rooms. Seems to be the nicest place in Isafjordur. Perfect location. Good breakfast.
Review 46:Service okay till the buses arrived. The food was beautifully arranged but just average. I would find another restaurant, if I go back. I would stay in the hotel.
Review 47:View is nice. The hotel has two locations. I prefer the old building on the corner.
Review 48:Unfortunately, we had to go to another hotel for breakfast (it was a good buffet).
Review 49:The sitting area in the common area was nice
Review 50:Well Run and frindly
Review 51:Breakfast (good) at sister hotel.
Review 52:Location
Review 53:Poor internet connection on 3 rd floor.
Review 54:View, location, Tjorhusit, kayak trip with Borea
Review 55:Lovely modern accommodations - we had a spacious triple room. Well located in the middle of all the action yet quiet.
Review 56:The entire hotel smelled like salted cod fish. The smell was on every floor, in the elevator, etc.
Review 57:Very nice people, good food, good location.
Review 58:Breakfest on the reception
Review 59:Place, room.
Review 60:This was a sleek
Review 61:modern upgrades, no sulfur smell in the bathroom, great town, the young lady at reception was such a lovely person and happy to be of help.
Review 62:The room (main road side) at the 1st floor were very noisy. Almost impossible to sleep.
Review 63:The room was large and clean.
Review 64:Very nice and clean.
Review 65:no escalater
Review 66:Slightly scary lift where you have to hold the button until you reach the right floor. Sometimes unreliable wi-fi.
Review 67:New, comfortable building with spacious rooms. NB this is an offshoot of the larger Hotel Ísafjörður, and sometimes you have to go there to get the room key. The restaurant (very high quality) is in the larger hotel.
Review 68:Didnt find staff on arriving at the hotel but there was a helpful notice on the door telling you where you should go should this happen. :) slightly noisy in the mornings as our room looked directly over a main rd but not really an issue. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
Review 69:Very comfortable and large room. Good wifi signal and internet access via computer in communal area. Nice and light decor. Spacious bathroom.
Review 70:No body when we arrived we had to phone and went to other hôtel to pick the key. Same thing for check out Double bed very thin Waked up by works on our adjacent room
Review 71:Non-existent service. The reception is supposed to be manned from 4 to 8pm. However, on the day of my arrival nobody turned up all day. You had to go to another nearby hotel to get your keys or for anything else and the staff were unhelpful. You also have to go to the other location to check out.
Review 72:Excellent central location, good and comfortable rooms.
Review 73:Door alarms go off pretty quick if you hold the door open too long
Review 74:Brand new remodeled hotel, lovely room decor, easy to find, wonderful views, nice breakfast and great staff
Review 75:No one to get the key to the room from... only to find a note on the front door saying go to another hotel to pick the key.
Review 76:Reasonable price. comfortable room and bed.
Review 77:There is no reception after 8 P.M. We had to go to different hotel tocheck in. Also, internet is almost not working. You have to go to thelobby for decent internet
Review 78:The sitting area that was available for anyone to use. We used it twice with friends.
Review 79:Unusable Wi-Fi, very bad reception service and quite expensive given what you get.
Review 80:A good room with new furniture.
Review 81:Almost everything is good.
Review 82:Wi-Fi didn't work in room.
Review 83:Good breakfast.

Review 91:Location central; room very nice. Good breakfast.
