Reviews for Befani's Mediterranean Restaurant & Townhouse
Review 1:Would have to look for faults to answer this question as I was very happy overall.
Review 2:The hospitality, the food, the staff, the cleanliness, no noise, excellent value for money.
Review 3:Toilets in restaurant way to small for size of restaurant. The alarm going off all night was very unpleasant. Apparently this was from Chamber of Commerce building next door. Well done lads!
Review 4:Staff were very efficient and pleasant. Food was great.
Review 5:Nice little hotel, with a good restaurant. Room was clean & comfortable, staff polite & friendly. Only stayed one night, but it was very pleasant.
Review 6:There was no water in our ensuite on the evening we arrived, although it was not the guesthouse's fault. It returned during the night.
Review 7:Great location
Review 8:The food was excelant
Review 9:My stay coincided with the water problem in Clonmel and the customer service provided by the staff to alleviate the problem was very impressive.
Review 10:Having no lift to the bedroom.
Review 11:I enjoyed my stay, it was value for money, the bedroom was quiet basic but very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the food was very good.
Review 12:The only thing l would recommend is new tv's and not so high up on the wall a little to hard to see .
Review 13:It is hard to say what we liked best everything was excellent, from the staff food and rooms and excellent value for money.
Review 14:Noise from road sweeper early in morning & noisy manhole cover out in street as traffic drove over it.
Review 15:We had dinner on Saturday evening & all 4 of us really enjoyed it. Also breakfast next morning.
Review 16:Spotless room, perfect large shower.. i am 1.93m tall.. excellent quality food, served by smiling efficient staff. A big surprise upon returning to our room at 9.30am after a superb breakfast was the room was cleaned, bed made, towels replaced .Very impressive to guests. You guys know how to run a business, congratulations.
Review 17:nothing not to like !!!!!!
Review 18:everything cleanliness friendly staff lovely food and location would def stay again and recommend Befani.s to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in Clonmel
Review 19:This fantastic B&B far exceeded all expectations. The two gentlemen working there, during our stay, could not have been more helpful or any friendlier. The room was spotless, well sized, and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and generous too. Great location. 10/10!
Review 20:the staff were very help full. I told staff I was leaving before breakfast time so they left me a breakfast tray up to my room so i had some food before i left
Review 21:No negatives for ourselves - great value for money. Anyone with mobility issues might struggle as there are a lot of stairs to the rooms.
Review 22:Our room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent, tasty, beautifully presented and the coffee was impressive.
Review 23:I was kept up some nights because of the screaming young ones coming out of the pubs, and the surrounding shops alarms going off all night, but my wife wasn't bothered. Just keep in mind the location is a double edged sword if you have trouble getting to sleep. It really is a great place. I was disappointed with the tv. it's a tiny CRT tv. Even having a cheap lcd flat screen would be adequate.
Review 24:You couldn't be more central if you tried, it is directly in the center of town. The housekeeping staff was always thorough and prompt, but observant, I never once had them coming in or still there while I was in the room. The breakfast is amazing in both taste, and the choices you have. Wifi connection was good.
Review 25:Nothing. It's not a hotel but you won't find any difference in quality.
Review 26:This guest house is right in the centre of town and a 5 min walk from Raheen house and probably 10 mins from Hotel Minella for weddings etc. nice, comfortable basic room. Wide selection of breakfast served to your table in the restaurant.
Review 27:Only downside was there was a lot of activity from about 7.30am. If you were a light sleeper this would be an issue.
Review 28:Fantastic value for money. The room was basic, as expected, but I had one of the nicest breakfasts in a long time! Also very accomodating, I was returning to the room in the small hours and was provided with a key to a side door to the rooms.
Review 29:The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent and straightforward, anything on the menu was possible without extra charges.
Review 30:The fact that we didn't get to sample the superb menu in the restaurant, because of our late arrival and early departure
Review 31:First contact very pleasant lady in restaurant, informed her of our 6am checkout so we wouldn't be there for breakfast, she asked if we would like something brought to the room later like a cereal, etc instead, what was brought later was amazing, cereals, fresh juice crossings, pastries, fruit, and beautiful home made yougorts, touch of class,
Review 32:Had meal there evening I arrived it was fabulous as was breakfast choice next morning!! The restaurant has a good selection of Gluten Free Food also. Accommodation great value in comparison to another hotel I had checked out. This is also right in centre of town. It had a disabled parking place right outside premises which is a big plus as I have problems carrying case etc.. Also when I booked online I requested accessible room due to back probems. Shortly after booking they rang me to explain they had no ground floor bedrooms which I was impressed about as have arrived in other places after requesting accessible rooms to discover that I am floor without not on a ground floor and there are no lifts etc.. I would highly recommend this as an enjoyable place to stay for anyone visiting Clonmel.
Review 33:Only thing I didn't like was the stairs...I have mobility problem with stairs and there is no lift. Apart from that, everything was excellent.
Review 34:Food was excellent. We had dinner in restaurant and it was fab. Breakfast was amazing...many more choices than that in most hotels. Service was top class..everyone was very friendly and helpful. Even when 2 of our friends arrived late, they got full breakfast with a smile.
Review 35:breakfast took 45 min after ordering including waiting for coffee. toast taken from one table reheated and brought to us.eggs overdone pudding greasy ,bacon like cardboard and cheap sausage used. if unfit don't go here,60 steps to bedroom
Review 36:The best full Irish I ever had in my life! This small, cozy place, just 50m from the town centre can be proud of ts amazing food and home-a-like atmosphere. The room itself was very comfy. It might not be the most luxurious place I've stayed with, however it was a great value for money and I have absolutely no reason to complain
Review 37:As its a listed building it was 60 steps up to room (no lift) however the first climb was the worst.
Review 38:excellent location, friendly staff, lovely bright and spotlessly clean room and excellent breakfast
Review 39:Nothing to dislike
Review 40:Nice big rooms. Clean. Excellent breakfast. The only thing to note is the stairs. There are a lot of steps up to the rooms so it may not be suitable for all visitors.
Review 41:The bedrooms are pretty functional looking. It would really benefit the overall experience of Brefani's if some thought was given to the interior design of the bedrooms in the future. Bedrooms to match the top notch customer service and food.
Review 42:The staff were really friendly and helpful, giving directions for parking and assisting with a late checkin. The vegetarian breakfast was amazing.
Review 43:On street parking only @ €1:00 per 50 minutes during working hours so not the best of you have a car. Some restaraunt noise in room, Yellow tinged water from taps.
Review 44:Location,Great restaurant well worth a stop off in. Fantastic breakfast.
Review 45:To me a small hotel relies on the staff. This place has it sorted! A most attentive/observant Latvian dude oversaw breakfast making sure everything was perfect. Awesome!!!!!
Review 46:From the moment we arrived to the time we left, everything was wonderful. Awesome customer experience, food, cleanliness, the rooms. Beds were comfy, however could do with an upgrade. Will definitely stay again and recommend to all.
Review 47:I don't have any complaints about this establishment
Review 48:The restaurant, the menu is not huge or particularly mediteranean but the quality is very good, definitely worth eating here
Review 49:A bit of zooming at the room caused by the van in another room.
Review 50:Large clean room at very central location, for a reasonable price. The restaurant downstairs is fabulous. As we had to leave early to catch the bus to Dublin, they brought a tablet with a good breakfast to our room in the evening.
Review 51:It's a bit impersonal. Probably suitable for a business traveller. Note that it's a townhouse with big stairs and no lift, so not for anyone with leg problems.
Review 52:The food is awesome.
Review 53:Breakfast is excellent. Value for money. We also had dinner at the restaurant as well. The food was exquisite. We enjoy our stay very much. Would stay in befani again if going back for visit
Review 54:The guest entry/exit door opens directly on to a side street, and the stairs go up and up and up - no lift, so this is for the fit and able.
Review 55:The staff were excellent, could not do enough for you, and the food was only mmmmmmmm... and very moorish. Easy parking in the area.
Review 56:The staff were fantastic and really helpful. The restaurant food was top quality with a good range of options. The location too is great, right in the centre of town
Review 57:Nothing really, it was good value for money.
Review 58:The room was comfortable. I was in town to go to a party and just needed a place to crash for one night The breakfast was very tasty. I think the breakfast is one of the draws of this place really. There's a great section of like waffles and smoothies and cake, or a full fry and freshly squeezed OJ. The staff were all friendly and pleasant. Everyone of the staff I spoke to were nice and helpful.
Review 59:We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning and would highly recommend staying here.Staff, Food ,Location , Everything was perfect .Very happy Customer.
Review 60:A cold night and the heating in the room wasn't on. Should have had an extra blanket in the wardrobe.
Review 61:Great location. Lovely staff. Very helpful.
Review 62:No lift had room on 4th floor. Bed a little small. No private parking
Review 63:Breakfast was excellent, location very central, staff very friendly, room was quite, wifi good
Review 64:Very old and small television in room but we didn't have time to watch TV so wasn't an issue for us. No in-room safe available. There are a lot of stairs - just something to keep in mind for those with mobility challenges. The guy who checked us in was great though and took our suitcases to carry upstairs to the 3rd floor.
Review 65:The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and you could control the room temperature which was a plus. Breakfast was excellent, good options and very satisfying. We had an early flight on the last day and were given a continental breakfast tray the night before. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend it to others!
Review 66:Room was at the top of several flights of stairs Room was cold as electric storage heater was not on when we came in Toilet did not flush properly which I really hate. Meant to mention that gripe to the staff when I was leaving but forgot
Review 67:Breakfast was really delicious and location was good
Review 68:No private parking, however there was plenty of on street parking and a public car park at the end of the street.
Review 69:Central, good location, tidy neat room, very clean.
Review 70:The room was at the very top of the house, with six flights of stairs to climb (with luggage) and neither a lift nor a porter available.
Review 71:Food and restaurant were first class and are in fact perhaps in a league of its own in Clonmel.
Review 72:This place offered great value for money. It was not flash but did not pretend to be. The breakfast was superb, we ate dinner there too - amazing food, great staff, the town's interesting too.
Review 73:I did not have a wifi code. I'm sure if I had asked it would have been provided but I expected a wifi code in my room and in the end did not have time to ask reception. Stairs - not for the less able bodied.
Review 74:The location was great, no private parking but ample and cheap parking nearby. Food was beautiful and rooms very tasteful, spotless and comfortable.
Review 75:Staff very friendly and helpful. Food very good, especially the breakfast which was inclusive. Location quiet and central to town. Rooms adequate and clean. Parking conveniently near by. Very good value for money.
Review 76:Very quiet, perfect for a good nights sleep. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had both dinner & breakfast and the food was lovely. I would recommend it.
Review 77:Nil to criticise here for my 4 night stay.
Review 78:Service in restaurant. Cleanliness/quietness of accommodation Location next to Clonmel High St shopping and friendly bars and river walks and towards hill top hikes. Food - not cheap but high quality with a focus on Italian blends. Rail connections to interchange at Limerick Junction and coach travel to Galway etc. Special thanks to Clonmel Tourist Centre for help (2 doors away) Clonmelians friendship
Review 79:My sister & brother in law from Australia visited me several times during my stay. We enjoyed coffee in the Restaurant but it would have been better if the Hotel had a Lounge. However they joined me for dinner & lunch and adored the food. In fact they have reserved a room for 7 days next April.
Review 80:Restaurant serves locally sourced and organic produce. Mediterranean Cuisine with a taste of magic.Dined on three occasions, Dinner and Lunch twice. All spectacular, compliments to the Chef. Not forgetting Irish Breakfast, generous helpings of everything. Delicious black & white pudding. Restaurant also offers an amazing breakfast menu filled with tasty items. Hotel deserves a Gold Star for food. Bedroom was comfortable, pine furniture, Mediterranean style.
Review 81:Some late night street noise after 1 am. Otherwise it was great.
Review 82:Befani's accommodations were very clean and comfortable. I would stay there again if I was traveling through Clonmel
Review 83:Top floor room became very warm overnight and there was no fan or air-con and the window was small.
Review 84:Restaurant was superb, both dinner and breakfast were fabulous. Nice wine list too. Great service. Lovely location close to the river and centre of town. Staff extremely helpful, particularly when it came to carrying our suitcases up to the top floor where are rooms were located. As a listed building there is no lift so fitness is essential when staying in his quaint place. Rooms were basic but functional and the ensuite bathroom had a good shower.
Review 85:Doesn't have its own car parking but parking bays outside and a couple of payable and free car parks within close distance. No lifts so about 5 flights of stairs to get to 2nd floor rooms - good for walking off Irish breakfast! As with any central location in most towns, you'll always be aware of the late night revellers in the street if you've the windows open. The bed could have been a bit softer for my liking. These aren't gripes, just observations, as we'd be glad to stay there again.
Review 86:Good central town location. Stayed in second floor double room - good size with modern furnishings and bathroom. (3rd floor bedroom windows are much smaller). Great looking and tasting breakfast and professional, efficient staff who seem to care. Didn't eat dinner there but menu looks good and if breakfast anything to go by is probably good too. Nice sized restaurant/conservatory. Close to car parks/parking bays.
Review 87:There no car parking but a local carpark round the corner which was a few euros for the day but free from 6.30pm till 8.30 am
Review 88:The staff were all lovely breakfast was fab staff kept your room clean wifi constant no noise so local just excellent all round.
Review 89:the lock on the main door onto street is hard to open.
Review 90:got a single room for €40 for a bank holiday saturday night. unfortunately i went to a restaurant in the town and by chance met with some locals who had their dinner and said i missed out.
Review 91:Rubbish old small television. VERY noisy, both from people leaving the pubs and shouting and from the air-con machinery that whirred all the time. The bacon that came with the breakfast seemed to have been reheated from the day before. Had to walk up six flights of stairs. Quilt on bed but no sheets, either bake or freeze.
Review 92:Nothing really.
Review 93:Noise from washer and especially kichen fan which was very noisy. Sorry I had to mention this as the rest of our stay couldn't have been better.
Review 94:Excellent breakfast and large and comfortable room.
Review 95:Only one thing . I stayed in single room and mattress had no quality . Found it hard to sleep on it . That's all .
Review 96:Food amazing . Friends that stayed in others places in clonmel that night came and eat there aswell and also said it was amazing and good value . Keep that up . Central and easy find
Review 97:Hate it when they advertise parking and it's not there parking. Is is around the back but it is a public car park and difficult to understand the signs as to when you have to pay from. It is free overnight but you have to pay from 11am
Review 98:Centrally located. Lovely staff, keen to help. Not plush but good value. Breakfast was good fresh scones ect. The locals use it as a coffee house so that's a good indication that the food is good.
Review 99:Breakfast overcooked. I assume heated up from day before. Disappointing but I was hungry and hunger is a great sauce.Tea not up to Irish standard. Need fresh boiling water over the teabags. Water pressure in shower was low. Clonmel parking charges are excessive!
Review 100:Single Bedroom with en suite facility Helpful staff Size of breakfast Price Value for money Location Very clean
Review 101:It was a bit noisy at night, especially after midnight, doors slamming....staff quarters ? Also would have liked hot chocolate sachets instead of coffee.
Review 102:Location, this is my 3rd year staying at Befani's, wouldn't stay anywhere else, see you in 2015
Review 103:I found the restaurant very expensive. It was good food well presented but it was limited . There were no bar facilities and the decor is dated.
Review 104:The staff were excellent and attentive. It was very central.
Review 105:Very central location right in the middle of town with restaurant and fantastic breakfast!
