Reviews for Raheen House Hotel
Review 1:Weather was bad, missed being able to walk around the lovely garden ?
Review 2:This was my 2nd visit, the same weekend as last year. I love the size and homeliness of the hotel and the lovely staff. The waitress at breakfast is so nice and even remembered me from last year! Food is great and plentiful, think I will hav to continue with my annual visit ☺
Review 3:Decor in dining room awful, totally out of character with rest of hotel. Food only average
Review 4:Hotel rooms were mostly really lovely and garden and outside sitting areas really beautiful. Staff were very nice.
Review 5:Lovely room. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location was ideal. 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Breakfast was superb.
Review 6:Nothing to comment on.
Review 7:The whole building, rooms and garden. Very peaceful environment and lovely view of garden from room. Real friendliness of staff. Super breakfasts. Very comfortable lounge to relax in for coffee or drinks later. Would certainly return anytime.
Review 8:Honestly I didn't find fault with anything
Review 9:My myself and my husband wanted a few days away for rest and relaxation and that's exactly what we got.friendly staff, beautiful room, amazing food, cosy bar and a quiet undisturbed sleep. Staff were extremely helpful but not intrusive. Lovely area for walks as well. Really a hidden gem and will definitely be back.
Review 10:bed was very small for 2 people... staff were a bit rushed with a wedding also going on during our stay. But then businesses have to survive so just a very small gripe on my behalf.
Review 11:Location, Comfort, Old world feel, gardens
Review 12:No real bad experience as such. However, there was a sitting area (open to all residents) directly outside our room, which somewhat compromised the peace one would hope to obtain from a hotel-room in such a pleasant setting.
Review 13:Aesthetically, it was a very interesting place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 14:The service at the hotel is poor at times. There is rarely anyone on reception which means checking in, out or even wanting to request water in the evenings was difficult. Some cleanliness issues in the bedroom and the shower fitting did not work.
Review 15:Location was excellent. The house is beautiful and the rooms are decorated very well. The rooms are also spacious and the food is very good.Breakfast was excellent!
Review 16:The beds squeaked literally any time you moved, the bathroom handles didn't work very well so it was sometimes difficult to get out of the bathroom. Cobwebs covered the shower head.
Review 17:Really lovely appearance, plenty of room. The breakfast was suitable. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
Review 18:Everywhere you glance is a beautiful work of art, piece of furniture etc.. I would pay a fee just to look round. The gardens are wonderful. The building is a work or art in itself.
Review 19:Only small prob was lack of staff in the bar that night but there was a function on so that prob didn't help.
Review 20:Hotel was really lovely and bedroom was beautiful.
Review 21:Nothing!
Review 22:A very warm welcome on our arrival and friendly helpful staff were aklways on hand if needed. Beautiful cooked beakfast with good choice of cereals, breads etc. Within 6 minutes walk of Clonmel town. No need to drive or book a taxi!
Review 23:The hotel has a lovely charm. But it was the friendliness of the staff that really struck me. I was staying overnight in the hotel and then delivering a training course the following day. From the perspective of a weary traveller the staff was very friendly and welcoming. From the perspective of a trainer the staff were very professional and helped with all my requests from regulating heating to flipcharts etc
Review 24:Shower didnt heat up & handle broke off. Staff member at breakfast time & check out time appeared uninterested & dismissive.
Review 25:Full Irish breakfast was tasty!
Review 26:I travelled on business so was only there from 1900 day 1 until 0800 day 2. It is a very enchanting place. I would live to return with my wife and child and explore the mature gardens and enjoy the outdoor facilities.
Review 27:There was nothing I didn't like.
Review 28:Lovely Georgian house set in great gardens within walking distance of Clonmel town. Food plentiful, delicious and good value. Served by friendly, efficient staff. I really enjoyed my stay & I definitely want to go back and I will. Clonmel is a great shopping town and this hotel is ideal for one or two days or longer as a base for touring Tipperary and surrounding counties.
Review 29:Gorgeous gardens, very friendly and helpful staff. A very comfortable lounge with an open fire and some of the best Irish coffee I've ever enjoyed.
Review 30:I stayed in room 3, the frame on the single bed creaked each time I turned in the bed. It was a really rainy night and as the guttering somewhere needed replacing, I heard this pouring rain all night
Review 31:The mattress on the bed was excellent, and helped for a good nights sleep.
Review 32:They do a fair bit of catering on the weekends for weddings and such. When that happens, parking is a bit of a crunch. I also think it could be a bit noisy if you were in rooms in the main house during one of these events. We stayed in the side building and the noise was not bad.
Review 33:My wife and I stayed for 8 nights in mid-Sept. It is a lovely home with beautiful grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food we had was excellent. We ate breakfast there every day and did dinner there twice as well as bar food once or twice.
Review 34:Public ladies toilet needs taps fixed , its just a small detail
Review 35:Food was very good, old building with character, short walk into the town , beautiful gardens , bedroom was in a coach house at the back
Review 36:nothing. It was first-rate.
Review 37:wonderful furnishings, charming rooms - bar and lounge and sunroom - excellent small restuaruant for dinner, excellent location - within a short drive to the Rock of Cashel, Waterford, etc, very helpful and gracious staff, all in all a lovely stay.
Review 38:Would have preferred to have availability of "early bird" (up to 7pm) dinner price pointed out to me when I was asked what time I wished to eat (7.30). Significant difference in price compared to 7.30 menu.. Room facilities were just adequate, with only local (Irish ) TV available. Traffic noise at front of house (mornings).
Review 39:Elegant house. Walking distance to centre. Garden with seating. Good food. Pleasant staff. Soya milk was obtained for me at my request.
Review 40:Nothing - everything was first class.
Review 41:Everything about Raheen House was just wonderful. The room was the one I had requested with the amazing 4 poster bed. The food was first class, the most beautiful dinners and amazing breakfasts all in a lovely setting. The gardens are so serene, even though we could not enjoy them due to the rain. Staff were friendly and so helpful.

Review 81:Lack of free wifi. Water is not always hot enough - lukewarm shower
Review 82:Good location, house has lots of character
Review 83:Clonmel itself isn't very attractive anymore, but the suroundings offer a lot.
Review 84:beautiful rooms, old furniture, spacy bed- and bathroom,
Review 85:Our room No 29.. Lovely olive tree courtyard. Nice staff. Good location.
Review 86:nothing
Review 87:everything about the hotel was excellent - especially the location.
Review 88:Beautiful house. Lovely grounds. Comfortable bar. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely bedroom and ensuite. Felt luxurious without being snobby. Very reasonable rates.
Review 89:first bed uncomfortable and bathroom a bit grubby, but switched rooms easily when asked.
Review 90:beautiful house and gardens. Good breakfast. friendly helpful staff.
Review 91:Clear glass in bathroom window - had to keep blinds closed.
Review 92:Location: So close to town centre, yet so very quiet & peaceful. Lovely friendly & relaxed atmosphere
Review 93:A dead wasp was left lying on the sash window for the 3 nights I was there, and I thought that the tea making facilities just behind the tv created a potentially dangerous situation, with steam going to sockets, etc. This should really be changed. Otherwise grand.
Review 94:Location, wonderful setting, beautiful gardens, excellent service, good breakfast, beautiful old house full of character, room newly refurbished.
Review 95:Waited at empty reception for 15 minutes. Used phone provided (if check in was unattended) to no avail.
Review 96:The grounds are lovely- in town but private grounds. Lovely old house hotel.
Review 97:No chair or desk in bedroom. No hot water or heating until I asked for it to be turned on, so the room was cold. TV was up high on wall and you could feel the springs in the bed
Review 98:Food was excellent and the hotel very restful, no noise and the garden was great. Hotel close to town and nice walks
Review 99:The bedroom was big and had a very comfortable four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located just a few hundred metres from the town centre and yet it is in a very quiet area. We would highly recommend this hotel
Review 100:nothing to not like.
Review 101:a beautiful old house , kept nice , clean and very pleasant, helpful staff. whilst not overbearing , but always on hand if required. breakfasy lovely, grounds are beautiful.
Review 102:Carpet in the bedroom was showing its age, could do with replacing.
Review 103:Food was cooked to order for breakfast, meant it was fresh to the table. Also had dinner in the restaurant, food was very tasty and the portion was enormous. Staff were attentive and friendly. Room was large and the bed very comfortable.
Review 104:I've stayed here a number of times over the years. I'moriginally from the region, so I occassionally visit home. I've gotto say that standards are slipping a lot. Cleanliness left a lot to bedesired. I was in the older (quaint) part of Raheen House. The roomsneed a lick of paint and bit of brightening up. Main issue was with thedead moths and flies on the window ledges in the bathroom - very verysloppy to miss these! Also quite dusty; not cleaned properly. I'manything but a clean freak, but it shows lack of attention anddisrespect for the guests. Also internet was out for the whole weekend -I was travelling for leisure but need to keep in contact with mybusiness, so this was also not good. If I knew beforehand that internetwas unavailable, I would not have made my booking with this hotel. Alsothe bedside lamps were not working.
Review 105:The breakfast was very nice. The staff went out of their way to makesure I got an early breakfast (6:30am) on the morning of checkout.
Review 106:Getting attention by the staff in the reception was impossible. There was a note saying to call a number, but no one appeared. On several occasion the reception was unmanned and I had to go look for staff.
Review 107:Great location, close to the Comeragh mountains and easy to walk into Clonmel town. Lovely park and river right next to the B&B. Rooms are nicely decorated and cosy.
Review 108:Lack of modern amenities, ie: number of TV stations available was poor. Lack of a bathroom fan was surprising. Minimal staffing meant some waiting was required
Review 109:Proximity to Clonmel
Review 110:Bathroom needed a little maintenance around taps etc., very minor detail.
Review 111:I asked for a quiet room and we got it. It was large and comfortable with proper adult sized beds and an excellent ensuite. Breakfast was freshly prepared and very good. Location excellent; along the river with a view of the mountains- ideal.
Review 112:Wifi was not working, cobblestone courtyard was slippery.
Review 113:This place has a very welcome feeling and staff are most helpful. It was quiet and had nice big rooms and gardens. We had book for one night and ended up staying two nights we enjoyed it that much.
Review 114:The room was basic ,plain and uncomfortable ,we had it cross a yard to get to our room which looked like a barn conversion.the bed was so hard we didn't sleep at all.
Review 115:The food was good and the staff were nice but looked like they were tired.
Review 116:Fabulous bar. Staff amazingly friendly & helpful. Large airy rooms with country house atmosphere. We had sandwiches in bar when we arrived - wow! We weren't looking forward to dreaded 21st party finger food later that evening every bite was delicious. Mini quiches were yum!
Review 117:Friendly staff Great food Beautiful Surroundings Value for money
