Reviews for Gamla Guesthouse
Review 1:I booked a co-ed sleeping bag accommodation room as a single traveler, not knowing what to expect. I ended up with a very clean four-bed room wholly to myself with a bathroom right across the hall and a nice lounge and kitchen for guest use. The room was beautifully located right off the main harbor in town. You had to check in at the main hotel and no breakfast was included, but for the price, I have absolutely no complaints.
Review 2:I really didn't understand why there is no interet connection in the sleeping bag accomodation!
Review 3:The hostel was really really nice. Clean and tidy, stuff was always friendly and helpful. You have free luggage storage for the last day, a nice common room and enough space in the fridge and on the shelves
Review 4:We paid in my view way too much for what you get. We stayed in far better guesthouses for far less. Probably you pay for being in the city, and it is not worth it !
Review 5:Location in the city
Review 6:This place has 3 toilets per gender and I think 3 showers. It will hold 75 people. That would be awful. No place to hang out, a large room w long tables and folding chairs. When I checked in there was no info about Myvatn, only ads. When I asked the clerk about what to do she said, borrow a bike and ride around.
Review 7:The staff barely spoke any english. Took us almost 2 hours to get in our room. We had to go to a third building to get our keys, and the receptionist there gave us a lot of wrong informations about the building. And after almost 2 hours trying to find the right place to get the keys and the right place to sleep, the room didn't have any pillows or duvets on it.
Review 8:Good location and nice place.
Review 9:The room, neither the common area had wifi. Furthermore it was very noisy when people were present in the living room
Review 10:It was very clean, and it had all the necessary kitchen supplies. I booked a dorm but I got a two room bedroom which was really nice.
Review 11:The showers were not super clean
Review 12:It was a very good location. The bedrooms were nice and clean. The common spaces felt a little run down. The exterior of the houses were very quaint.
Review 13:Cosy
Review 14:Nobody ever staffed on premises. On arrival you are greeted by a sign to go to the other end of town to check in. No wifi in the guesthouse at all.

Review 34:The delicate lady who runs the guesthouse was unique. So is the place. The room we had was on the second floor. Country special style, arranged with thought and love. A cosy place to sit out side the room. I would definitely recomed!
Review 35:Excellent accommodation, great position, nice old-modern design. Thefood was also very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Guesthouse was very clean and room really comfortable (with wardrobe, small tables near beds, mirror).Wi-fi was excellent.
Review 36:Not their fault but construction outside made if hard to take an afternoon nap after our 6+ hour drive from Reykjavik.
Review 37:The location was great. Check in was fast. Breakfast was wonderful. The ambiance and history of the building was charming.
Review 38:- Minor detail: I was unaware of the fact that beds were to be made and towels renewed during the stay. If I were, I would've kept the room more tidy.
Review 39:- The owner spoke good English- the breakfast was awesome - the owner was so kind as to book us a room in a nearby hotel for the same price when she found out that she had to leave for Reykjavík unexpectedly
