Reviews for Clonmel Park Conference Leisure & Spa Hotel
Review 1:the gym could use some air conditioning, by jesus it was warm in there.......and thats before you start exercising
Review 2:Room was cleaned everyday and was very comfortable Staff were really friendly Food in the Bar was at a very high standard
Review 3:Food was very poor. Dinner was a party night meal - completely dreadful - wonder how they can cater for weddings and the like. Breakfast was a joke! Ran out of everything at one stage or another, queues then formed as everyone was waiting for stuff, tea never arrived, toaster was broken - and we were down before the rush checkout. Staff rushing around as best they could but clearly there was no upfront planning
Review 4:Hotel facility was good if you don't eat there
Review 5:Painting going on in the hall which scuffed a coat. Then I was rudely awaken by a car alarm going off and drilling outside my bedroom door. The shower curtain does not protect the floor
Review 6:Dressing table in the room. Comfortable bed
Review 7:There was a lot of dust/fluff visible in the radiator. We had to ask for water, none left in the room. No fridge. The volume on the remote control didn't work well
Review 8:Staff were below par for a 4 star hotel. Attention to detail was poor. The hotel could do with a revamp and a paint. Carpets throughout the whole hotel were badly stained and dirty. Walls were badly marked and need painting. Interior is dated. I don't think it deserves its four stars.
Review 9:Bed was comfortable. Gym and spa facilities were good.
Review 10:This was my second stay at this hotel. Was completely different to my first stay.I didn't like the fact that I was woken up by other guests banging down there doors at 2.30 in the morning. I had went away for the night to get a rest and that didn't happen. Then when I went for breakfast I was told that I had only made the booking for 1 person and had to pay for my partners breakfast. So second guessed myself the whole way through breakfast about that, couldn't really enjoy it. When I went to reception go query this she said I had booked for 2 and couldn't understand why I was told different. I was very disappointed with my stay this time. Don't no if I would go back after this.
Review 11:I slipped / fell in the bath (but managed to break my fall) while showering which I reported to reception. The shower mat had no grip / was totally worn. If an elderly person fell in the bath........
Review 12:Did wonder about bef stew I had for sat lunch saw some sliced beef hope it had not been reheated for curry dish.
Review 13:All very good . Location good. Food was generally good.
Review 14:On arrival I was told I didn't have a booking which put me on theback foot as we had been traveling most of the night and I had rangahead the day before. They found the reservation and all was well.We went straight to sleep on an average mattress (wouldn't call it 4 stars, Maybe 3) Wake up to go down stairs for breakfast and we are given a table. We sit down to get ready and another slightly upset man accuses us of stealing his table. (They had put us at a table that was already taken) After being reseated I stroll upto the buffet breakfast to find a long queue and nothing for people to eat except a few sausages, black pudding and cold potato slop mixed with tomato. No eggs, no bacon, no hash brown, no beans. Full room and nothing to feed them with. Quite hungry I grabbed a few sausages and head back to the table to get my morning coffee. I tried to flag down several staff members all running around in a fluff but not taking orders for tea or coffee. At this stage I'll try to settle for orange juice but you guessed it . . .NO JUICE! Eventually one of the girls come over slapping a pot of coffee on the table (Guess im pouring this myself and no spoon to stir so I guess I'll have to use my knife) With an 8.3 review average and a 4 star rating over the door, I guess I just expected better.
Review 15:I only stayed one night
Review 16:no view from bedroom
Review 17:staff were great in particular an extremely professional waitress named Kate originally from West London - she is a star. The room was fantastic and food delicious. I will certainly be back.
Review 18:TV remote not working properly TV volume hard to control No places to sit in reception - a bit sterile Bar - too bright and too crowded for evening meal Service at breakfast was slow - too few staff on - had to chase up requests a few times. Staff really nice but overwhelmed by volume of breakfasters
Review 19:Room
Review 20:The hotel is in a good location and easy to get too, upon entering it is spotlessy clean the staff are very friendly. When entering our room it was spotless and the decor was lovely and had everything you need for a very enjoyable stay.
Review 21:Carvery lunch served in the bar on Sunday was almost cold. After highlighting the issue, our food was then heated up in a microwave. Several other patrons also experienced the same issue. I would expect much better than this from a four star hotel.
Review 22:Good facilities. Good proximity to Clonmel town and right beside the retail parks. Free parking and excellent wifi coverage throughout. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 23:Nothing to report
Review 24:Stay in this hotel every time I come back too Clonmel, kids love it, it's always clean, and breakfast and food is great. Staff very friendly and professional.
Review 25:Pool area very dark Hotel too out of the town
Review 26:The hotel was very easy found. Staff in the evening were very helpful in getting us food even though they had just stopped taking orders, they managed to get us a lovely pizza to share. Room was clean but strangely laid out
Review 27:no complaints at all
Review 28:We stayed only one night, & could not fault this hotel. Staff excellent, everything one would need. The restaurant served delicious steak!! Breakfast was very good also
Review 29:Grubby shower curtain in bath which didn't do its job - floor awash, really quite dangerous! Uncomfortable bed lumpy and too small. Breakfast could do being improved.
Review 30:Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food good in bar.
Review 31:Room was noisy as vent in window wouldn't close, lift shaft next to my room banged and groaned, carpets were filthy and smelly, bed was far too small and the mattress worn out, TV system completely hopeless as was tiny TV, decor in room was odd, food service in bar was haywire - a very stressful stay. Hotel is aware of issues and they knocked about 30% off my bill.
Review 32:Not a lot to be honest. Nice pool and bar was ok. Manager and reception staff very good. Aware of issues with hotel which will be addressed with new owners.
Review 33:There seemed to be a bit of confusion in the bar when ordering food. When the food arrived it was lovely but it took a long time to get to us as the person we ordered from seemed to go on their break and we got forgotten about.
Review 34:Well decorated rooms. Very friendly and helpful reception staff
Review 35:bed too small for 2 adults no shower hat in bathroom bath very narrow, difficult to get in & out of shower sheet to long, a shower screen would be more appropriate
Review 36:staff friendly & helpful bar food very good
Review 37:Breakfast quality need to improve , there is a caravan site of some kind at the back and dogs keep barking at night from there. Ask to be shifted to the room in front.
Review 38:The hotel is located in a very scenic location - good ambience
Review 39:The breakfast was of poor quality
Review 40:The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Very clean room. Even though the hotel is outside of the town taxis are readily available.
Review 41:Very noisy, unable to sleep for two consecutive nights, two marriage ceremony with very loud noisy speakers, it's not a good place for professional even if you might think it's value for money .
Review 42:Nothing really, I thought it's value for money and it's not.
Review 43:We were treated very badly by staff because we were staying for my debs, I was followed by security man to my room in the elevator to check if I was actually staying in hotel, very uncomfortable and ignorant
Review 44:was not told carpet fitters were working on floor above and thought it was very noisy guests. it disturbed much needed afternoon nap.
Review 45:Breakfast was lovely
Review 46:The walls are paper thin and we got no sleep, our second night we was up till gone 3am because of the couple next door talking we as well have been in there room. the rooms are hot and have no air con. there is no iron or ironing board in the rooms, which as a traveller you need as you end up going out looking like you've just slept in your clothes. the bed is the worst ever, the springs were coming through the bed..overall I wouldn't stay here or waste your money, you be better off to park in the car park and sleep in your car.
Review 47:The free wifi worked well and was handy. buffet breakfast was fine. large free car park.
Review 48:Grandchild Looking forward to Splish Splash and it did not happen Observed couple with three children not allowed into pool because cilren a no swimming hats and it would have cost them €27 which they could not afford
Review 49:Pool
Review 50:There is no residents bar and the bat man was unacceptably rude when we tried to order drinks after hours. As residents you do not expect the bar to close so early, especially if there is more than 8 people in your party.
Review 51:Second time staying at this property. The location was perfect for a local wedding we were attending.
Review 52:Not what we expected for the price. Broken vents causing whistling in high wind and a cold room, TV broken, broken electronic door lock, broken iron & ironing board, querstionable breakfast. Staff not bothered when I mentioned. Had to argue for a price reduction.
Review 53:Rooms on top floor poorly designed. Dressing table location looks like after thought. Bathroom too small, door should not be facing the bed. TV too small and sound on RTE channels v poor.
Review 54:Staff were very helpful and efficient. They even put a fridge in our room to help with the baby bottles etc. Free car park.
Review 55:Bar staff not very chatty. Carpet in the bar where customers eat meals not a good idea.
Review 56:Receptionist that was on in the morning time was really helpful and welcoming
Review 57:The bed was so uncomfortable & pillows were very hard, when I asked for extra pillows @ checking @ 4pm,had to ring to reception 3 times for them, water I'm swimming pool was freezing we had our 1 yr old with us had to take her out after 10 mins, when I said it to person in leisure center she said there was a problem with temperatures from day before, just a pity we didn't know before we brought our daughter in
Review 58:Food was lovely in bar
Review 59:I thought that the provision of toiletries in the bathroom was minimal and could be bettered. Also the towels were a little worn
Review 60:Bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the reception staff were cheerful and helpful
Review 61:On this occasion we were awakened at 3.00am with people shouting, loud laughter and talking and banging on our room door telling us there was a fire. That went on until 4.00 am . My husband complained in the morning and was asked what room it was coming from . It was on the corridor the noise was. He did not know what room the guests were in.
Review 62:Staff very pleasant and helpfull. we have visited your hotel on several times and were always happy with our stay. Will return again as we enjoy the hospitality and entertainment.
Review 63:Our room had a view of the leisure centre roof like a ski slope It wouldnot have been nice for any longer than a one night stop,
Review 64:Just arrived at hotel around 6pm for an overnight stay had dinner in bar and it was excellent. We had breakfast next morning which was hot and tasty.Waiters very polite and helpful.Just wish all hotels would dump toaster machine and bring from kitchen
Review 65:When going upto my room I noticed the stair carpet was threadbare and the Halley carpets were so dirty you could see the tread marks of previous occupants 1st room smelt so bad that they moved me Second room was in need of overhaul and previously been smoked in chewing gum stuck in carpet and the television was from the dark ages and was only approximately a 19 inch screen. The gym facilities were like the rest of the hotel worn out not impressed
Review 66:The staff were very polite and helpful
Review 67:TV did not work in the bedroom and it was not possible to watch golf anywhere in the hotel although there were many golfers staying as guests. There was no muesli available for breakfast and no apology.
Review 68:Nice clean modern hotel on the edge of town with easy road access. Good sized well equipped gym.
Review 69:I'm afraid the food left a lot to be desired , had a snack at the bar very expensive for what we had, breakfast was over cooked and not great quality, such a shame !
Review 70:Lovely clean , spacious rooms!
Review 71:There was a wedding going on and could not get any sleep and was going on till 2 o' clock in the morning ans was not told about this when we booked by the Reception staff.!!! Also room was not ready in time and had to wait in the bar and spend more money on Drinks..
Review 72:Nice clean room,Hot water ,warm room..
Review 73:Room was too warm with and temperature could not be changed in the room. Bed sheet had a stain and duvet cover was torn. Service for bar food was poor as I was given a warm glass of white wine and my beef wrap was delivered long after my husband's well done steak.
Review 74:Food menu was a little limited. Some of the bar service staff were a little inattentive oythers were very good. I always expect an iron in a hotel room but in this case you had to ask. I did but it never arrived.
Review 75:Clean and comfortable hotel
Review 76:Rooms were exceptionally basic, beds were far too small and rooms were very badly layed out. Rooms were also far too warm and uncomfortable.
Review 77:The friendly staff made the hotel visit very pleasant. Although the young bar staff lacked personality...............
Review 78:Quite far outside town. Breakfast was cold both food and pot of tea. Rooms looked tired and need updating. An ok place to stay but wouldn't return.
Review 79:Bed comfortable and clean. Great view over the mountains.
Review 80:The room we had was looking out onto timber cladding around the top of the leisure club. I couldn't see anything else but faded timber, u was shocked that someone actually designed a room with a view of timber cladding!! I was not told before I booked and we also had to pay up front before seeing the room. The pillows were hard.
Review 81:The sgraffito were very friendly, the food was very good.
Review 82:The staff couldn't have done more for us. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice. Everywhere was very clean. Bed was so comfort. Bedroom was spotless. It was excellent value for money. The facilities
Review 83:POLITE STAFF, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST CHOICE EVENING DINING AND DRINKING IN EXCELLENT SURROUNDINGS. COST VERY REASONABLE. ROOM SPACIOUS AND WELL EQUIPPED. WILL RETURN SOON FOR ANOTHER STAY
Review 84:No food after 9.00pm except sandwiches, so if you have a day out get back before 9.00pm otherwise you will go to bed hungry. Takes a while to get served at the bar.
Review 85:Great location, lovely facilities, nice pool and gym. Good food and bar facilities. Lots of parking. Nice shopping centre next door. Good rooms with nice view.
Review 86:Time to swap out the stained carpet.
Review 87:Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room spacious and clean. Restaurants in hotel were good. Grocery and other shops conveniently located in adjacent shopping center. Nice walk to St. Patrick's Well.
Review 88:the hotel rooms need updating. The kettle in our room had the wires exposed. the carpet going up the stairs is lovely til you get to the second floor the carpet is a different colour to the stairs it is quite dirty and shabby looking. We fancied a nice carvery for the evening but this is only served til 5pm then you had to go to the bistro which serves food til 9pm but not a lot of choice.
Review 89:the entrance hall into the hotel is outstanding with beautiful porcelain tiles and is very clean.
Review 90:Music in the bar kept starting and stopping which was annoying. The rooms were too warm which gave me a headache. The towels supplied for the pool were too small and it was hard to cover ones modesty. For a hotel pool the first impression wasn't great ( it just looked average )
Review 91:The dinner was excellent , the fish was perfect and the staff were excellent
Review 92:When I opened the door of the room I was given initially, there was a terrible smell of cigarette smoke, the minute I opened the door it was obvious that the previous guest smoked in the room. I rang reception to change rooms and the matter was dealt with really quickly.
Review 93:issue with room was dealt with very quickly, I thought the hotel was good enough for the price
Review 94:Restaurant Service a little poor though, food only just about warm and not once were we asked was everything alright, which it wasn't. droning noise outside room 130 windows, all night, air con and pool vents
Review 95:reception staff excellent, very welcoming, attentive and polite. Couldn't fault. Bar staff heat and friendly, restaurant staff very welcoming.
Review 96:bar food bit expensive, and heating didnt work in room even after i called and they told me what to do when i did it , it still didnt come on, 12 o clock check out a bit annoying too.
Review 97:the bed is sooooo comfortable and the quietness of the hotel location considering its near enough to the center and the decor of the lobby is very contemporary and modern
Review 98:Carpet in room could do with replacing, although the room was spotless. Layout of lounge was awkward as sofas faced other guests and conversations and privacy was breached, otherwise great value and staff were excellent.
Review 99:Good value and very freindly staff.
Review 100:Thought the food for the Erving meal, which was only available in the bar, was disappointing. Would probably look to eat out should I stay there again.
Review 101:The snug bar didn't get as much attention as the main bar.
Review 102:Staff all excellent at customer service. Fron initial e-mails with Eve to book a small family reunion. Totally efficient. Staff had no probkem bringing in smaller tables & chairs to the snug for older relations.
Review 103:Breakfast was poor & expensive.
Review 104:Nice hotel, on arrival there was confusion with my booking which the receptionist took care of with minimum fuss. Busy atmosphere in the bar.
Review 105:loved the room front view of beautiful hills, some sightseeing near by. hotel staff were friendly. bath and shower in room so choice. my son loved the pool all on site. a park for kids to play near.
Review 106:I did eat and the main meal was too salty, so it was sent back, I was offered alternatives but I didn't accept, but no one came to offer any further explaination, and the meal was not refunded, so not ideal.
Review 107:Location and friendly staff
Review 108:Breakfast could have been better. Found cooked breakfast was very undercooked, in particular sausages and pudding. Wasn't too happy to eat these.
Review 109:Clean and comfortable accomodation
Review 110:Room was extremely warm, left window open all night but loads of noise from barking dogs. The units under the TV, purple material was very dusty.(room 211)
Review 111:Comfortable, fantastic friendly,helpful staff.
Review 112:Bathroom was a bit smelly. Toilet didn't flush well.
Review 113:We arrived in the hotel at 8.55 pm looking for food and the staff in the bar went out of their way to cater for us. Lovely food and very helpful staff all round.
Review 114:Nothing,,, in a lot of hotels now the bedside lamps are not too bright,,,, making reading difficult,,, I guess thats the current fashion for atmosphere,,and also reflects reading on gadgets,,, books are not back lit !!!
Review 115:This hotel does what is says it will do,,,,it offers hospitality and service and is conveniently situated just off the by pass,,,, the staff were professional,,,,, most seemed very young especially the bar and breakfast room staff,,,I wondered were they trainees yet they were most pleasant and professional,,,,
Review 116:Had to ask for essential things like tea, milk for table & buffet breakfast pots with sausages, bacon, egg etc. were let run out & not topped up when running low! Had to ask to refil.
Review 117:Very laid back & hassle free
Review 118:The breakfast was very average. I thought the hotel was a bit jaded and in need of an uplift. The carpets in the room were fairly worn and in need of a good cleaning. That said the hotel is value for money and Iwould stay again
Review 119:Location of hotel and leisure facilities which are excellent
Review 120:Gym closed at 7:30 waiter didn't get my order right. He didn't ask me how my meal was going till I'd finished . Not too impressive
Review 121:Food was meh?
Review 122:Children in the bar and up to 10 pm,,large number of people that were drinking excessively, very loud and aggressive,, (travellers) we could not enjoy our new years eve.. And for that reason would not stay there again,,
Review 123:Staff friendly and helpful.
Review 124:The only downfall was the noise from the air conditioning in the bathroom.Other than that I could find nothing wrong.
Review 125:Food & Cleanliness was excellent. The staff were obliging & very friendly,we would definitely stay there again.
Review 126:Only one little detail left this place down and that was the smell off the shower curtain, other than that I wouldn't have a bad word to say about the place.
Review 127:Pillows are like bricks and the spa didn't answer the phone (although I've been in it before and found it very good).
Review 128:Staff are really friendly, food is great, and it's close to Clonmel town. Really nice and attractive hotel.
Review 129:Absolutely nothing
Review 130:Clean, warm, spacious and bright room, good functional bathroom and very comfy bed. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Very well equipped gym with helpful friendly staff. Nice functional pool. Excellent value.
Review 131:Like all hotels please put mugs in rooms instead of cups
Review 132:The leisure facilities were top class best I've seen in a long time it will bring me back again
Review 133:That the "bistro" and the bar was one and the same place. The restaurant appeared to be open only during weekends. The Wi Fi was rather unstable
Review 134:The design and comfort of the room
Review 135:The service in the Wheat Bar was a tad chaotic, due in my opinion to the shortage of staff, who seemed run off their feet, but managed to remain unruffled throughout.
Review 136:Everything, really , though we felt sorry for the overworked staff serving dinner in what seemed an understaffed bar. The hotel was very comfortable, squeaky clean and the staff were charming. And the food and wine were delicious !
Review 137:Staff's inability to cope with the"NEW"computer system and on two occasions tried to make me pay twice. Bar staff/waiters inviting me to include a gratuity when using a debit / credit card. Carpets could do with a good clean, particularly stair and corridors.
Review 138:Food and accommodation were good.
